We pulled off the highway en route to Florida and stopped in at Saint Street Inn on Google's recommendation. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Nate, the proprietor, was behind the bar and was engaging while we waited for our food to arrive. We started with the blueberry grits (*bonkers* good) and the cucumber hummus (also delightful). The wife thoroughly enjoyed her grilled peach salad (with fried chick peas - amazing), and my mushroom omelet was fantastic, with fresh greens and just the right drizzle of olive oil and cracked black pepper. Everything was perfectly fresh (from their garden outside) and portions were appropriately sized without being overly ample. We left feeling sufficiently fed, but not sluggish. The drinks were on point as well. My daughter enjoyed a blueberry lemonade and the wife had a Swamp Soda Pimms Cup. Both were balanced and not overly sweetened. All in all, it was a fantastic reason to leave the interstate while passing through Lafayette. We will definitely plan to return.

We sat outside on the patio today for lunch. The food was fantastic, fresh and creative. Service excellent! Green chili burger was mouth watering. Anything hummus order it! An amazing culinary experience

BLUF: Awesomely interesting food in a location/atmosphere you wouldnt expect it in. Good drinks. Went there with a large group and everyone was pleased. We sat outside because sitting outside is the way to go plus the inside seemed rather small. Staff was nice and helpful. Drink menu was average but they did them well. Menu was very interesting so you know they have a legit cook. I got the burger which was a mistake becuase it was the least interesting. It was good but I would have rather gotten the pork belly which most of the table got and liked. Huge portion of pork belly. The burger came with fries which were really good and salty. The dessert didnt interest us so we got coffee. It is chicory which I wish they had warned us about. I hate chicory. Overall a great place with fun interesting food. I'd go back to order something more exciting. (prices are reasonable but not cheap in comparison to the rest of lafayette but cheap in comparison to most other cities)

I've lurked on Yelp for years and I've never written a review...let me just say, it's been a week since I've been to this place and I'm still thinking about our unbelievably delicious (and very reasonably priced meal). I had the sweet potato poutine for an appetizer. LIFE CHANGING. I also had the kimchi burger and my husband had the Cuban tacos. While the burger was very good, the tacos were next level. The pork was melt-in-your-mouth and the fried green tomatoes on top were so damn good. Oh man, and those fried Brussel sprouts. Perfectly cooked. Huge portion. And the homemade brownie for dessert. All in all, this place is a little gem and I'll definitely return the next time I'm in Lafayette!

Wow, was I surprised. Wanted to try something new, so decided to give this place a shot. Upon entering the facility, I was a little skeptical, however, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the following: - Sweet potato crab cake - Cochon de lait poboy - Pork roast, mayo, creole mustard, fried kale, gravy on a delicious poboy - very amazingly delicious and light - Zydeco burger - Creole-inspired burger topped with bacon, bleu cheese and mint-jalapeño coleslaw - this burger was amazingly fresh, light, and delicious, did not know they can deliver such a burger here! I can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

What a great lunch ! Had the famous burger that I have been reading about and it didn't disappoint. Included the homemade fries which were delicious. My wife had the grilled Brussels sprouts which were just as good. Service was excellent even though they were very busy because it was Mothers Day. You need to try this place.

Probably a welcome change of pace in this neighborhood, but for a girl from NYC, "farm to table" is played out. For an area like Lafayette, I assume most places that appreciate good food will be local sourced without additional cost or need to emphasize, since most of my food experiences here have made me feel like I am tasting Lafayette. Be prepared to wait and have a server who may not be able to answer all your questions (e.g. Which cheese is this? What is this root vegetable?) One silver lining is the edamame hummus, don't be deterred by the color or texture, close your eyes and savor, it's actually quite delicious (a likening to fine flavored cottage cheese with better texture). (As a stand alone dish 4 stars). Perhaps our selections were too pork heavy (but this is usually a good thing in my book!) but their "adventurous" marriage with berries, pomegranates, pears and sweet pickles, were barely saved by the pleasant surprise of candied walnuts (which happen to be one of my least favorite nuts). Artwork by a local artist is on display for sale at very reasonable prices and my dining partner snatched one for a steal. I will acknowledge that my dining partner had an entirely different experience and would rate this place 4 stars.

I really liked the food and atmosphere. I had the daily special, cranberry braised pork with a cabbage salad, and my husband had a burger with fried egg and we both loved the flavors and freshness. We didn't enjoy how long it took but that was the only problem. The waitress was very friendly and working hard the whole time so it wasn't a big issue.

Limited menu, but most ingredients are sourced locally. I would recommend for lunch when the weather is nice.

Hidden gem. Great healthy food and service. If you're looking for a healthy and great alternative to the fried po boys across the street, try this place.

Old house turned into a restaurant. Relaxed casual dinning inside or out. Local ingredients. Specials are always inventive and tasty. Staff is pleasant. Some patrons (today anyway) can get a but loud and out of hand. This was my third time eating there. I plan on going back.

Very weak dinner menu. Only burger on menu was burnt and "jerk" flat bread tastes like bread. $40 for burnt meat and bread. The $3 tip was for the beer and fries.

Limited menu, but everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. I highly recommend this place to others.

I've come here three times. Twice, the service was terrible. One of those times I stood at the bar waiting forever for a beer while the bartender talked to her friends. Somebody else - a server or manager, I couldn't tell - eventually got the beer for me when even he couldn't get the bartender's attention. The food was good but pricey for what it is. Not a place I would go back to.

I tried. I mean i really tried to like the place more than a 3 star but after having been here 4 times now I can't do it. Each time I go I get a completely different take away. The food has been hit or miss and the service the same. The only consistancy has been the drinks which are some of the best in Lafayette. Every single time I have gotten a drink it is spot on in both balance and flavor which is a hard thing to do, especially with alcohol. I do love the patio!

They use locally sourced food, which is a plus for me. I had beet juice, as well as the Black & Gold veggie burger. The veggie burger is a black bean base with corn and other veggies. The patty itself was pretty darn good. It was supposed to come with fried kale, but it was topped with a very sad piece. I mean, it was so small they might as well have not put any on it. I wasn't a fan of the tomatoes. However, tomatoes will occasionally make me gag so I won't fault them on that. The bun was delicious. Soft, warm, slightly sweet. The burger also came with a side of fries. Ah, they were so good! I'm sure they cut them in-house. The beet juice wasn't anything special. But since I was recovering from a hangover, it worked out quite nicely. And another thing... That door. One opens from the left side, and the other opens from the right. It was amusing watching people try to figure it out, just like I'm sure people laughed when I was trying to figure it out. But seriously, they need to do something about that.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review because this is my favorite spot in town, but on Thursday, 10/9 I had one of the worst dining experiences I can remember in Lafayette. To start, Johanna Divine was having her CD release party, and it was the first night they were introducing the new fall menu- sounds great, however they were not prepared for the crowd that their advertisements brought it. It took 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and our starter salad and bread took 25. My boyfriend and I were patient with the wait because the food is normally out of the park, the server seemed to be new, and the kitchen was obviously backed up due to the crowd. But when the food finally came out after 45 minutes, the chicken dish, which we were splitting, was barely edible because it was so undercooked. We cancelled our orders for the second round of drinks that never came and asked for the ticket, the chicken hardly touched. The server did not even ask how our meal was upon seeing that two people didn't finish a dish meant for one. I considered talking to the manager but my boyfriend was so ready to leave and head to Legends to just settle on a burger- the overall experience was so disappointing. This being my favorite spot for lunch, dinner, or anytime drinks, I am willing to forgive and forget, but please please make more of an effort to be prepared for the crowd you attract! Any other review of my experiences would have been 5 star for sure.

This is a nice quite place to have dinner on the weekend. Their farm to table cuisine will impress even the pickiest of eaters and you will notice the quality. The portions can be a little small but the flavor makes up for their lack of quantity. I enjoyed the outdoor seating in the fall.

One of my favorite restaurants in Lafayette. The location is in the charming Saints Streets area and right off UL's campus, which contributes to the cool and laid back atmosphere. The lunch specials are always unique never fail to impress me. The dinner vibe is great for a group of people or a date. The best tables are on the side of the restaurant where lights hang above. The drinks are VERY strong but made with fresh ingredients, so they're excellent. I definitely recommend this place!

Stopped in for a drink at Saint Street Inn with friends last week, and wish I lived closer to Lafayette so I could try their food, too. I'm a bit of a stickler on finding the perfect Sazerac wherever I go, and the one at Saint Street is right up there with the best I've ever had (which was made by a descendent of Bernard de Marigny, off of his original recipe from the 19th c.). While there, I chatted with the owner and bartender, and enjoyed the conversation just as much as I enjoyed that lovely cocktail.

I have been here a few times and I have never been let down. This place in my experiences is very consistent in the quality of service and the quality of the food. They get creative with the menu options and even have a menu of special drinks every day such as cucumber water, special teas ect. I have never been for dinner but I can say that as far as lunch goes it is a wonderful place to relax on the patio after class and enjoy a meal that is undeniably fresh.

Great dinner menu on the weekends. Awesome hand-made cocktails that will put you in high spirits after a day at work. Menu is always changing in little ways to reflect what is in season or what the chef wants to make. Small establishment with friendly waitstaff. If you want to have more of nightlife scene come here on Thursdays because there are homemade pizzas and the beer on tap is buy one get one free.
