Passed this place many, many times and never took it seriously (after-all, it's inside an Exxon!) until I read some good reviews online. So I decided to give it a shot. As soon as you step out of the car you smell that hunger-inducing aroma of a real pit barbecue. They do things the right way here - low and slow over real wood. I tried the brisket po' boy, which was a bargain at $5.50 and it was very good. Tender, not grisly or fatty and just a hint of smoky goodness. My only hesitation about giving them 5 stars was the sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but it wasn't bad and perhaps they just slathered a little too much on there. The people that work there are very friendly and make you feel at home while you are waiting for your food. I'm looking forward to returning to try the ribs. So skip the gas pumps out front (Exxon certainly doesn't need your business!) and go straight inside for some great real pit barbecue.

This is about as close as you're gonna get to real Carolina-style pit BBQ in Lafayette. FYI, BBQ is not tossing steaks or sausage on the grill. Beef or pork done low and slow over hickory, then slathered on a bun with sauce and cole slaw. That's BBQ.

It ain't the Joint on Poland street but it ain't bad either. Had the chicken and ribbs and beans and dressing. The beans were good but the dressing tasted like it just came out the box. The people are nice so all and all if you are hungry for real bar b q come here you won't be sorry!!

I love the ribs wet, but they are even delicious dry. The best ribs in lafayette by far ironically are at a gas station.

Great taste, fast and friendly service. Ordered the brisket sliced sandwich. Very juicy and the sauce was great. They don't weigh it, just pile on as much as the bun can take. We skipped the sides cause I came for smoked meat. Prices very reasonable. 2 sandwiches, whole smoked sausage for under $12. Can't beat that.

This is Lafayette's best kept secret. To many of you, it looks like just another BBQ place at a gas station. Go inside and I promise you that the food will blow you away. The chicken falls off the bone. The ribs falls off the bone. I'm not a fan of their sides but that's ok because I can cook that on my own. The only bummer is that it's closed on Sundays and most of us Cajuns love to eat BBQ on a Sunday.

This place is inside a gas station that should have been a big red flag. My wife and I went here for dinner at 6 PM our first and last ever visit. After being assured by the attendant that the food was good we ordered 2 entrees. They must cook all the food in the morning because by 6 PM and a long day in the warmer and under the heat lamps everything including the sides were dried out. My wife couldn't eat the brisket which I also tasted and agreed with her it was the worst ever. I asked the attendant if she could at least refund the brisket entree and she refused. I left the brisket meal with the 2 sides for her on the counter. I hope she enjoyed it as much as she thinks the food is good.
