Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.

This place was recommended to me because I was craving a milkshake on a random Friday night. Not being familiar with the area, definitely had to keep my eyes open because we had initially driven past it. I don't remember the exact names but we ordered the chicken tenders, guacopotle, a spiked milk shake & a sweet tea. As a side note, I was disappointed with the other teas (the black tea, mango tea or black tea). The food itself was pretty good, definitely more than enough food for two people. I was surprised how many chicken tenders there were. Why not 5 stars? Just small things. - The tabling confused me with all the reservation while in line signs (I had to have someone explain it to me). - I felt our server was a little hovering. - I wish we had a spoon with the shake especially towards the end with all the mints at the bottom. Hopefully I'll have the chance to go back again before I leave the area!

I've eaten at a bunch of burger joints in Lafayette and Grub is easily the best burger in town. Why is this you may ask? The main reason is they grind their in -house mixture of brisket and chuck every day. This results in a burger so fresh and delicious that it trumps any and all other Lafayette competitors. The buns are fresh, the toppings are good, as are their fries and onion rings. In addition to their excellent burgers, the chicken tenders are sensational, and the sauces that come with them are homemade and unique. Grubs version of remoulade is delicious, as is their BBQ sauce. This place really is a genius concept including their menu, their cool bar up-front with about 15 beers on tap, as well as their servers that have a clue as to what they're doing. I was also impressed that when we got an order of onion rings that were not really hot enough, after we sent them back the manager came out to apologize and bring us a fresh and hot order. This joint and their management know what they're doing. Eat here soon.

Whoa! This place is amazing! We are visiting from Los Angeles, where there are tons of gourmet burger places, and this place tops them all! The burgers are so juicy and tasty, the fries are top notch and the shakes...heaven! Also, the servers are so attentive and gracious. The only bummer for us is that we don't have a Grub Burger at home! Thanks for a perfect meal.

Was in town for business... right down from my hotel and it was new since my last visit.. got the Lockhart legend.. it's a BBQ Burger.. I got the sauce on the side.. I ordered a Scotch.. they only had 3 brands to choose from and only one decent brand.. I drank 2 Scotch waiting on my food.. When it came they forgot the fries ( that cost extra not included in the 8 Buck Burger)... but alas they brought them in a few minutes... I cut the Burger in half and it was cold raw inside...menu states that my Burger would be cooked to a "juicy medium well"... not edible.. sent it back Ordered a water with my meal and never got a refill until after my meal when I begged for it ..I was sitting at the bar I'm front of the bartenders the entire time and they watched me crunching ice..never offered a refill. Second recooked Burger.. now it's WAY over cooked..guess they showed me...it was dry overcooked and had ZERO flavor... as in zero seasonings at all and it honestly tasted like a frozen Burger.. it was nothing special at all.. Told bar tender and she was like, "Wow that's sad, most people tell us their Burger are way too salty "... Also fries had to be sent back...they are really thin cut..so either they are under a heat lamp too long and are hard and overdone or when you get some fresh ones they are so thin they don't retain any heat.so by the time you eat half your Burger, plan on your fries being cold and inedible... unless you like cold hard bland fries... I would not come back. Zero flavor and zero effort to make it right after multiple things were sent back... Older manager, bald with glasses was walking around asking people how their food was but he avoided me like the plague... guess fixing it or hearing about it wasn't his concerned.. Well I am typing this as I sit here with my again empty water chewing ice and a nice young lady just walked by and asked me if I liked my Burger...I said not at all..she said.. "really " and snuck away fast... Look it's all hype at best..

Wanted to see what all the hype is about.. arrived at the establishment, line was out the door.. good right? Wrong. Don't get me wrong, the interior was nice and modern, the work staff was amazing, but the food was not up to par. - Cheese Fries - Grub Skinny fries topped with Monterey jack and cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, and jalapeños. Served with jalapeño ranch - the fries was delicious, and the jalapeño ranch went well with it - The Front Porch - Lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard on a buttered toasted bun - I had to try their known burger, so that I can judge the burger.. the burger really lacked for me.. Don't get me wrong, the burger wasn't bad, but then it was nothing special about it - Salted Caramel Milkshake - the milkshake also really lacked for me, it was too runny and had too much salt in there After hearing all the hype about this place, I was really disappointed in myself for waiting in line to eat here.. I will not be back.

A place worthy of note. I love the burgers here and the shakes are delicious too but I recently tried the tuna burger and I am hooked for life. Teriyaki Wasabi sauce on rare Tuna for around 11 bucks! Need I say more?

So a co-worker of mine has told me about this place, and I've been wanting to try it for some time. I was actually in that part of the town thinking about getting some comfort food and ironically I thought if that Grub Burger place was around me I'd definitely give it a shot. Sure enough I drove right past it, and I had to stop. Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as good as the guy had made it sound. I got the bottom of a keg on my first beer and it just tasted bad. It must have left a bad taste in my mouth, because when I went to try another nothing really tasted good.Hopefully, they're beers are kept at the correct temps, but I got a Shiner I'm familiar with the second time and it definitely tasted off. I got my burger which I have to say didn't take very long after I ordered. It was the Lockhart Burger with onion rings, Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce, cheddar, bacon, and I swapped the pickles for mushrooms. Sadly I don't remember there being much bacon to speak of. The burger itself didn't really have any flavor. I ended up dousing it in their BBQ sauce which also didn't taste like a Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce. They hand make it in house. So maybe the sauce guy dropped the ball. The burger just didn't taste the way people and the menu made it sound. Just disappointing. The sweet potato fries I got with it were amazing. Especially dipped in their Mississippi Come Back sauce. That sauce is bomb. Go figure the fries and sauce were the best part of the meal. It came out to be $20. Although, it tasted like a Burger Kind burger. Ehhhh. I have to say, there is a Burgersmith across the street, and I'd highly recommend you going there instead. They have blown me away every time, and for the price Grub Burger just isn't worth it.

I am not sure why people are giving this place 2 or 3 stars - it's a great burger joint with plenty of choices, homemade buns, patties and fries for a good price with a good selection of shakes and beers . It definitely beats Burger Smith or five guys. Solid 4 stars!

Not the best burger I've ever eaten... but pretty damn close!!! A coworker of a friend who likes to try new places to eat suggested that we try out this new place near their office which had opened up recently (within the past month or so). Being in the River Ranch part of town, I thought to myself "oh, gosh, yet another trendy yuppie food place... so-so food with laissez-faire service at substantial prices." BOY, WAS I WRONG! The place is new... *spotless*... immaculate. Yes, it does kind of have that trendy feel to it, which I do not particularly like, but it wasn't bad enough for me to get up and leave before ordering. They claim to make their own bread dough in-house... hourly! I don't know if that's the absolute truth or not, but I'll tell you now that the bun on my burger was soft and warm, as good as I've eaten... ever! I ordered a simple burger... "The Front Porch" (as it's called on the menu)... lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard. Yes, I'd like to add some cheese, please. Soft, hot, flavorful bun... melted cheese... hot, juicy, *fresh* beef... fresh veggies... It was a thing of beauty! As my friend Charlie would say, "PDT!" (Pretty Damn Tasty) I'd say that it is "Ground Pati good!" If you're a fan of the great American hamburger, this is a place you should check out!

Looking for something to eat " near me" on the map, I ran across this joint. Parking is lacking to say the least. Once inside, the atmosphere was delightful. We were promptly greeted at the door and got the run down on how to order. We didn't have to stand in line long despite only 1 register being open. The beer selection is adequate. I ordered the Texas Luau burger that was the best burger I've had in many moons. Grilled pineapple, jalapeños and pulled pork to top it off. The combination of smoke, heat and pineapple zing works really well. The bun is huge but was light and fresh making it easy to scarf down. The fries were lava hot and crispy. Washed it all down with Shiner Bock draft. In my best Arnold voice, " I'll be back."
(4)Mike A.
Boy Blue burger was awesome. The caramelized onions were really good. The Skinny Fries were so crunchy. Like shoe string potatoes. My wife had the Jive Turkey. She said it was the most flavorful turkey burger she ever had. I let the waitress talk me into a shake. The chocolate was so good. I guess I will have to try a vanilla bean shake next trip!
(5)David T.
The food is very good, the employees lack customer service. All the food is delicious, every burger is some type of specialty burger. They have other items on the menu but If a burger you want this is a great place to order one. Unfortunately the staff just doesn't seem to care about their customers. You go to a walk up window and order and wait for your food and seat yourself, standing their our food was ready and another woman order the same thing well after us and took our food. The employee said oh it's no big deal we'll just make your food now. Then we waited another 30 minutes where she told us she forgot about us. Another time they told us to sit at the bar and you can order food. As we sat at the bar a ma who seemed like a bartender either didn't want to take or order food just alcohol. Seems to me this place hates making money
(3)Raymean P.
The Lockheart and Voodoo burger were good. I loved the skinny fries and the strawberry shake was very good. I like the uniqueness of this place and I plan on returning.
(4)Nat V.
I got the guacamole burger with sweet potatoes and it was delicious. Nice ambiance on the other hand, the food doesn't not match the service. The place was not packed therefore I don't understand why my food took so long. Also, there was an older man at the bar that had clearly too much to drink that night and was harassing the bartender. Bartenders should be more cautious to who they are serving because it can disturb the other guests as well.
(3)Vicey R.
If you haven't tried Grub you should! Grub brings a new twist to burgers in a good way. The meat was fresh and the toppings were great. Monster onion rings were yummy. Great beer on tap and the cocktails are delicious. Too full to try a shake or better yet a Spiked shake but I will next time. Great outdoor seating and all in all the price was on point with the quality of the food. A+
(5)Daniel L.
This place serves a pretty good burger! A little pricey for that size but it was cooked right and had flavor! Beer selection and prices were decent. I wasn't impressed with their milkshakes dessert. I sat at the bar and watched the bartender make some dessert drinks from cheap chocolate syrup from target and McCormick cinnamon sticks and other normal household items I have in my own kitchen pantry. Kinda pricey dessert for something made from cheap ingredients from target or Walmart. But the burgers and fries are good. Atmosphere was nice. The ordering process is a little different, wait in line, place order then go sit and wait for your food, some waitresses come check on you if you'd like to order drinks or anything extra which is nice. The parking lot sucks though. I might go here again if I have some extra money.
(4)Corla L.
Our first visit. I like the atmosphere of the place, just not the parking situation. The Lockhart Burger was great. But the Burger of the Sea....I will not order again. If your an Ahi tuna lover like myself, the tuna is diced up like advertised, but the flavor wasn't great and the tuna overcooked. Very pleasant wait staff.
(3)James F.
Great spot with a unique menu. Everything is a burger but only half the menu is cow. Other options are turkey, eggplant and chickpea, salmon , chicken, and tuna. It's gets pretty crowded so you can expect a wait at peak times.
(4)Jaimie S.
I was a little concerned about another expensive burger place, but I had to try it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the door and told how to order and to sit anywhere. You still get a server after you sit, so don't skimp on the tip at the check out. I had the voodoo burger and my husband had the OMG. The burgers were fresh, hot, and delicious. We ended up splitting them because we both liked each other's too. We both got the fries. They forgot to offer us dipping sauce, but the fries didn't need it anyway. Unlike other reviews, our burgers were far from bland. We each got a cocktail. Both of those were awesome too. For dessert we had a bourbon and caramel milkshake, also delicious. The atmosphere, food, drinks, and service were 5 stars. I would definitely eat here again.

I was excited about this place and visited today for a late lunch. Sat at the bar and was waited on by a very friendly bartender. I ordered the Ghost Burger and added mayo. My friend had a Ghost burger as well. I added a side of onion rings. The burger was a decent size and the buns were fresh and soft. First bite in and it was Bland-city. I couldn't even taste the meat. It was absolutely unflavorful (is that a word?). I doubt they even use salt or pepper. I was so disappointed. I expected maybe the taste of a burger cooked over flames and smoke. All I tasted was the ghost pepper sauce, which was very good, the grilled jalapeños, the bun and the mayo. Any fast food chain has a better tasting burger, and that's not saying much. Walkon's, Ground Patti(as bad as their service is) and Burgersmith, all have superior burgers to Grub. I didn't share any of my thoughts with my friend but he said, "This is just bland", after a couple of bites. I wanted to like it, I wanted to love it. Someone important looking came by and asked how things were tasting. We lied and said, Good, not wanting to be the first people in Lafayette to not like the new business. (What was he going to do anyway? Change the recipe just for us?) The place looks really nice and clean. I really wish the business well. It has great potential, but lacks in flavor. This is Louisiana, you're gonna have to season the meat and maybe use a different method of cooking it. No one is going to continue paying $8 solely for a tasteless burger that doesn't even include a side item in that price. Our palates are used to bold flavors. All the toppings in the world can't make up for bland meat. I'll give their chicken tenders a try next time, but I'll only go during their Happy Hours, to save a couple of bucks, you know, just in case.
(2)James B.
Got a regular burger to go. Order was wrong. Instead was given a kids burger. Oh well I'm, I'm hungry. Burger was boring, bland, and tasted like it had been frozen. I think a Wendy's burger has more flavor. If I want another burger for that price, I'll just go to Burgersmith.
(1)Deni S.
Burgers are good, but I have tried better. Service is great. have some gourmet burgers but if you are like me, I stick to the original. I just go whenever the husband really wants to go, it is walking distance from us so that is a plus.
(3)Katie S.
Back for the second week in a row to confirm that it's the best burger in Lafayette!!! I got "The Front Porch" and my boyfriend got "The Lockheart Legend". So juicy and the pickles are delicious :) We sat at the bar last week so we didn't get to see the buns baking fresh by where you order! Very cool and VERYYYY good! My milkshake was perfect. I got Oreo again and my boyfriend got strawberry! Yummy yummy. Great atmosphere, great crowd, excellent staff! Can't wait to go back next week. Maybe I'll try something new (the chicken tenders look amazing)

Finally hit this place up today and I have to say, this place has the best burger I've ever eaten!! My girlfriend and I both had the Ghost Burger (I had mine Inferno...when your food comes with an ice cream chaser, you know it's gonna be HOT!). We both enjoyed the burger, and while hers was spicy, it wasn't too bad. Mine was very hot, but I was still able to enjoy it. It wasn't too hot to ruin the taste of the burger. Also, the buns are made fresh, and are amazing!! We also had the cheese fries. We ordered a half order to share and it was way more than we could handle! While in line, we were offered a sample of their chocolate and vanilla shakes. These things are dangerously good!! Will be trying the spiked shakes soon. I also got a look at their salads and chili. Both looked amazingly delicious. I guess we'll be back here often to try a whole bunch of what they have to offer!! Definitely recommend this place. So glad Lafayette is starting to get places like this. Very trendy and excellent atmosphere!!
(5)Burger K.
first off, the layout of the place is not very functional being that you have to walk thru the line or thru sections to get to the restroom, got to the restroom, soap on my hands, no water came on....second, I've had better burgers at Judice inn, Max's pool hall, etc., that's jus the ones I'm gonna list now! the onion rings were so hard they should call them batter rings, not a taste of onions anywhere, patty ratio to bun, was way off, had to look for the patty under the big leaf of lettuce...overall experience was very sub par! if you looking for a real burger, freshly ground patty, cool concept with great taste and experience wait til charcoals opens up in Lafayette or take the trip to New Orleans you won't be disappointed like I am now! sorry grub, look on the bright side, you can only get better!!
(1)Tala T.
A self service burger joint in Lafayette. The decor is modern and spacious- Lafayette definitely needs more places like this. I for one am excited. The menu consists of burgers and salads, appys and side dishes and a few calorie spiked milkshakes. Our burgers were pretty good. Really liked the buns and string fries and the different burger options. The burger patty itself was nothing that special. But overall, a satisfying meal!
(4)Andrew A.
Ok like this was the worse burger and burger joint! And I highly recommend it!! Knee smacking funny y'all 'cause I'm only kidding about the worse part; serious about the recommendation. I don't usually go gaga over burgers. They are after all smashed meat placed between pieces of bread. So what's so special about Grub? Fresh ingredients excellent service and outstanding taste. Cool wait staff, friendly atmosphere. And oh yeah - spiked milkshakes! Whaaat? You can have worse other places - they sure got a kick outta me telling them how bad the burger was... Now if you're in the mood for a burger that's filling, tasty and just down right do yourself a big favor and try out this burger bar. Yes bar!
(5)Michael C.
Just an FYI and I have to get this in......for the folks that say this place doesn't compare to Five Guys Burgers, that's a matter of your own preference and opinion on what a real burger is. With that being said, in my opinion, Five Guys Burgers doesn't hold a candle to Grub Burger! You want to talk about pricey? Prepare for sticker shock at Five Guys Burger for a burger that's similar to a checkers/rally's burger.
(5)Derek P.
For cold drinks and a great burger, this place is really good! I'm stuck on the Voodoo Mushroom burger. It has Tobasco mayonnaise that has just enough kick to give the burger some really great flavor. I recommend sitting at the bar, as it offers full service. The tables are quite nice if you like a bit more privacy, though. Also, the spiked shakes are really good! The Kitchen Sink is my personal favorite. All in all, whether you're looking for a burger, a cold beer, or a frosty treat, Grub is a solid joint.
(5)Herb H.
Great burgers, whether it is beef or chicken. I had the burger made of ground chicken breast and it was amazing. Atmosphere is vibrant and a bit noisy but it was a happening place. Mostly a lunch stop but in Lafayette getting in and out is very important and this place delivers. Give them a try!
(4)Tony L.
Came here on a Monday afternoon around 12. The line was pack but we was seated down immediately. The decor of the place is elegant. I ordered the burger of the sea, the dirty kitchen sink milkshake that has a little alcohol in it, and the crawfish pistolette. I enjoyed my first ahi tuna burger and really really enjoyed the dirty kitchen sink milkshake. The crawfish pistolette was too salty for me. The price is decent and I will be coming here again!
(4)Lisa M.
Eating gluten free is quite the challenge much less eating gluten free in lafayette. Not only does this place have gluten free buns but they are bought from a local bakery (Bibis) the sweet potato fries and chili is also gluten free. I made my own burger with chili, bacon, grilled onion, grilled jalapeños and guacamole and got sweet potato fries. It was absolutely delicious and VERY filling.
(5)Melanie G.
Nice atmosphere and crowd. Really long lines around lunch time and limited seating during that time as well. We waited in line for about 20 minutes to place order. The wait was entirely too long! Ordered the "omg" burger and it lacked flavor. I wish there was more flavor. The burger had chili, onions and mustard. It was ok. Dirt and worms milkshake was pretty good, but a little thin for a shake. I like my shakes thicker. Nice appearance though. Chicken tenders were excellent. We ordered the Harlem something flavored ones as an app, but it didn't come out until the food came out:( Overall, nice hangout. I did expect more, especially after the long wait! I honestly don't think I'd revisit if I were in the area again.
(3)Lynne H.
Crawfish pistollettes were so good! Not sure which burger my son had but he devoured it. I had Jive Turkey and it was very good. Saw some of the milk shakes coming out and they looked delicious. Very nice casual setting. Bar area looked nice too. Had trouble finding a parking spot but we were still able to order, get a table and received our food pretty quickly.

I've been meaning to come to Grub for a while, since it's within walking distance from my house. Today we finally did. My husband and I brought our two toddlers. We ordered a grilled cheese and chicken tenders kids meals, my husband got a burger of the sea, and I ordered a medium mushroom burger. Our girls loved their meals which have the option of apples, fries or sweet potato fries. My burger came well done, and the waitress noticed me looking at it immediately and brought me a replacement. The second burger is probably the best one I've ever had in my life. Juicy, well seasoned, and the mushroom and onion were perfectly cooked. My husbands Tuna burger was delicious, with sprouts, wasabi, and arugula. Very flavorful but not my cup of tea. The chicken tenders were delish and the grilled cheese was on one of their house made buns. Only negative is the fries and drink add on is almost $5. Excellent service. We will be back for sure.
(5)Jordan R.
This is a "modern" burger establishment. If you have a predilection towards skinny pants and Plaid with your beard you will fit in. Someone visited Portland Oregon and brought this idea home. The ordering is clumsy and not straight forward. I kept wanting to look up and read a normal menu. Because I was looking down and reading I felt rushed. I had questions. Staff was nice enough. But seemed "over it" Menus were also totally worn out could not read them because if the hundreds of Cajuns frequenting this establishment. Awkward ordering. Strange bar. Expensive burger. Although the above was slightly scathing I DID ENJOY my boy blue burger. With and additional charge for the bacon. And fries. Why NO COMBO. I felt I was in the delta waiting lounge at la guardia airport. Good luck diners.
(3)John T.
The atmosphere is designed with a bar theme which I understand completely but is not being executed well at this location. The moment you walk in your clueless to their process of ordering food because it's complicated if your lucky to get service within the first 5 minutes of feeling like a idiot they will give you a menu which you really don't want because it's going to take you another 15 min to read. I prefer burger smith just down the street. The complexity of getting the food here isn't worth it.
