Good food.....ONE THING THEY charged for to-go boxes LMAO SERIOUSLY? This is what made me not want to go back. I see why everytime when they give you a receipt, there's no charges on there, ah ha this is where they trick you, if this happened to you don't feel bad they probably done this for years. So I asked the waitress that I wanted the receipt with the charges on it. So little did I know they charge me 1.25 for 6 to-go boxes. I kindly asked her why do the owner do this, she was speechless. I just laughed it off, but never again you will receive my business. I rather go FIVE GUYS AND GET 8 dressing for free and a free bag to hold my burger =)

Peanut. Butter. Bacon. Burger. That's it. Nothing more to be said.. Just force yourself to make the leap and enjoy the fall. It's definitely not the choice I would have made without coercion but I definitely do not regret falling for the peer pressure on this one!

As always, Fat Pat is delicious, I only got to-go here.. picture might not look great, because looks can be deceiving.. MILE HIGH all the way!

Great food love the sweet buns for sandwiches so big burgers I can never eat it all lol

Love the burgers, very very good. I have been there once and it was on a Sunday, they had a 2x1 special on beers, so that made it better!

Delicious huge burger with a great bun and tasty hand slapped patties ! So what's great about pats is the locals atmosphere that treats an obvious northern to great southern hospitality. With the attentive staff and the fast burger service. Even on a Monday night football crowd ! I can't quite remember what the burger was but it was stacked with onions and local bacon and cheeze!! I'm gonna go back ASAP!!

When it comes to atmosphere and down home chemistry, this place has it in spades. Shannon and the crew there are amazing when it comes to service. The food is fantastic and when you want a burger that is anything but run of the mill, try the peanut butter burger. I know what you may be thinking and I was thinking the same thing but you will not believe the taste. To substitute mayo or mustard for Peanut Butter as the condiment, it is a surprisingly great combination with the lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and patty. I will do my best to go to the Saints' game there on Monday, 24 Nov, to enjoy the experience all over again. Hope this review helps you all to make a Monday night or any night sports decision. ONE LOVE Rey

I am changing my review of FP to two stars... should be one star, but the food here IS pretty good. FP gets one star for losing my phone charger, and telling me a cock and bull story that they have a box of chargers that other customers left and mine would be put in that box. When I got there, the bartender had no idea what I was taking about, and neither did the manager, nor did they have my charger, which was left in the wall behind the bar with several other chargers. I won't be back.

Best burgers in town. Writing a bad review because you lost a charger is stupid. Also I've never been charged for a to go box.

I go here often. So often that the owner hangs a stocking with my name for Xmas. I Am always welcomed when I visit. Super nice people, and I always get great service. Burgers are great, but too big for me to eat. I love the hot dogs but I almost always get the combo platter. Fried catfish and shrimp with fries. Beer is cold and I never have an empty mug in front of me I marked "good for kids" but if rob is there watching lsu, all bets are off

Three things; amazing restaurant, amazing service, amazing food. What more could you want? 5 out of 5 stars, for sure.

The Service and the dogs pus this place as one of my favorite places in all of Louisiana. I am a huge fan of Franks in Austin and this is the smaller version of that. It seems that every single time that I go I am always pleasantly surprised at the consistent level of service and food. This is not a place that is looking to do farm to table or have gourmet food for instagram ready pics or looking to break your bank. It is just plain old good food and great service. Lafayette has some real finds and this is one of them. There are a lot of mediocre spots so please skip all of them and come here!

Too DAMN SPICY!! Why does every F'n thing you have have to be SPICY? The burgers, EVEN THE CHICKEN IS SPICY! Why cant we have a choice of mild or spicy? You know some people have acid reflex, stomach issues etc. Its not fair!

This was the 1st time I had been to Fat Pat's and I will say the food was excellent plus they had a beer special going wrong, how can you go wrong.

This place was highly recommended for its burgers. Well, the mini burger was huge but bland in taste. Atmosphere is bar style, OK for what it's worth. Wouldn't recommend them to friends for burgers, most likely will not visit here again. Two and half stars at best!

Good food. Poor service. 45 minutes for two hot dogs and two burgers to go at 3 in the afternoon No containers for drinks four large drinks. She could have mentioned that when I ordered. However the waitress must have not seen me sitting there. She pretty much ignored me. Waited for a while for her to bring the drinks that I could not carry to the car after another guy brought the food.

I've never eater in this business. We have gone through the drive through multiple times though. The burgers have the second best buns in Lafayette and are really huge. Pretty good cheese burger, I was very impressed. The nachos are my favorite here. One order of nachos will feed three to four adults easy. Would rank it higher but I went there once thinking it was a proper bar to shoot pool. It's not a proper bar. It's a restaurant. Commercials promote it as a bar. Its a bar like Chili's and Applebee's are bars.

Heard advertisements for this place over the radio so finally I was able to try it out. What makes this place unique are the personal tv sets at each table that line the walls. Each TV can be changed so you can watch anything your little heart desires while you hang out and grub. The menu is pretty standard bar related food. I tried the Mile High Burger. It included grilled onions, peppers and pepper jack cheese. Yum! I will visit again to try out their dogs!

Took the family for dinner and had a nice meal. Went to watch a LSU game and somehow got a booth. The booths have TVs as others mentioned. Plenty of large flat screens also. The food was good and fresh. The guacamole and queso were both good and made fresh. I had the Coney Island Chili-Cheese Dog which I would recommend. Good chilie, good dog. One of the kids had the mac-n-cheese which was refreshingly not Kraft... Service was very friendly.
(4)Jessica H.
Not an enormous menu, but they do have really good burgers and hot dogs, and sides... Warning though - the large (double?) sized options are HUGE. TVs at each booth are convenient. Margaritas weren't that impressive, but they were cheap. Family owned & operated, which means they care about their customers...

Fat Pat's was OK. I was in town visiting relatives. Needed a place to enjoy the Saints game and get a bite. Yes I've had better food but the service was so good I didn't think about the food. For that they get three stars.

Not impressed at all. Food average. Seating uncomfortable. Felt like I was the only straight person in the place.

I love the grilled chicken sandwich with shredded Cheddar and honey mustard on top! Their french fries make me happy. Always packed for lunch. I like to order mine to go.
(4)Christopher W.
Great burgers with high quality meat and fries, definetely one of the best burger joints in Lafayette.
(4)Lori B.
I love the pork tenderloin sandwich & the mango-habenero wings are great!
(4)Ryan S.
The mile high burger is awesome!

A little update on the place, since I was in town visiting...The big boy burger, "Go big or Go home!" Two homemade patties on a sweet bun! I believe a sweet bun gives the goodness a burger deserves. The burger also comes with fries or you can substitute o-rings or sweet potato fries for a little extra. the 2 for 1 draft all day errday is not a bad deal either.

the only place that was open AND served food between 2-5p on a friday afternoon. as a bonus, the server was very attentive and the food was pretty good.

I was pulled to Fat Pat's by another reviewer who mentioned that they had not only the best burgers in Lafayette, but a wide selection of specialty hot dogs and sausage. I will speak to the former first, I hope that these are not the best burgers in Lafayette or I am in trouble. The positive to start was the bun, as many others have echoed which was both unique and excellent. Sadly that was it for the positives on the burger side, the meat was seasoned okay but way overcooked, and the onion rings were an attempt at beer batter but were way too greasy and had none of the light texture beer provides when done right. As for the hot dogs, which my wife is a connoisseur of, she said the cheesy Coney dog was great with a subtle spiciness. However she was not impressed with her sweet potato fires which she usually loves. Overall service was above average, prices were okay, and food was a bit below what i expect from pub fare.

This is the best sports bar in town. If your into watching college football, having a coupla of burgers, wings and cold brew - this is the place to be in Lafayette. The #1 reason why this is - they have tv's right at your booth. Friggin' nice. And the food is pretty good, a mighty tasty burger that they will top with just about anything.
