Not sure what's going on with these negative reviews on here. My family has been a fan of Copeland's for years and we often go there when I'm in town visiting now that I live in PA. We do usually tend to go at less busy times since we usually go as a family and it can take awhile to seat a large group, so maybe that's part of why we have a better experience when it's not crazy busy? But our service has always been good and I've always loved many of the things I've had there, including the spinach and artichoke dip with the fried farfalle pasta, the crawfish bread, and several of their pastas that I've tried have all been delicious. I do think their steaks have gone somewhat downhill but are still good. Back when they were advertising themselves as sort of a steakhouse and had a separate steakhouse menu and a regular menu (I was confused about that) I think the quality of their steaks was amazing then, and I had one of the best ribeyes of my life at that point in time. But now the steaks are just average, but still tasty. All in all it's a pretty solid place with some interesting New Orleans style entrees. It's also a great place for large groups since they have such a huge seating area and large tables available. And we've always had prompt and excellent service even with our large family coming as a group.

I was trying to go to Charlies Seafood tonight. However I found that there was no parking. I decided to try Copelands instead. I will say that this place was a little more upscale than I had anticipated. I guess that is why I did not receive a very warm friendly greeting at the door. The customer service was not that great. They were not rude or anything, I just felt like I was tolerated. The food was pretty good. I ordered their seafood platter. I also ordered an abita amber to go along with it. The shrimp was good and so was the crawfish. The stuffed crab was grade A. The catfish and onion rings were okay. The fries on the other hand were not that great. I could not even finish the whole platter. I had to get a to go box and take it home with me. I could tell by the decor that this place was upscale. The prices were pretty high also. The seafood platter and the abita amber cost me $30 just for myself,Yikes! will I give this place another chance who knows? In short great food, but lousy customer service and too expensive!

In the 12 years I have lived here, Copelands has gone down sooooo much! Every time I go I leave wondering, "Why did I love this place?" I went last night with some people and our appetizers and food took forever. In addition, my food came out a full 6-7 minutes after everyone else's (this made no sense since my entree was actually an appetizer) and no manager even came out to apologize-- I find that very unprofessional. Maybe it was busy or maybe it was new staff, but c'mon, you have been around for years, you should know how these things work...

Great place to eat and I must say that I've never ate a better biscuit than here not to mention service was also on point! Greatly recommended this restaurant if you're visiting New Orleans!

We stopped here after work one day at the recommendation of a women who is a frequent guest. We had just missed happy hour, so we had to scale back the number of crazy abominations they call martinis. I ordered a vodka martini up with a twist, and it created such a buzz that I was looking for a go-cup to sit outside until they were done. Anyway, the spinach dip was paltry and could have used a deft hand with seasoning. The stuffed mushrooms were OK, but again, no real discernible flavor. I'm glad it was not on my dime, because the food didn't warrant their prices. The severs were top-notch, so at least they're nice to you while you're eating sad corporate food.

The staff and service are always super friendly and attentive. Everything I've eaten has always been great. It's close to my house and it's always very convenient.

I arrived in Louisiana from Texas and heard from friends that this place was amazing. I decided to visit and was fairly disappointed. I got the seafood platter which had fried shrimp, oysters, fries, crab cake, etc. and it was just OK. We also ordered gumbo and red mashed potatoes which both came out extra cold.

A great dining experience for the family. Spaceous, beautiful interior, comfotable seating, and sharp, welcoming service. They have a wide menu with lots of great dishes to choose. The shrimp and crab cake fettucini was outstanding. Loved the biscuit. Tasted the blackened redfish which was also super delicious with a spicy peppery kick. For dessert the bread pudding is a must. Best bread pudding I've ever had. Pricing and proportions were very reasonable. I found the food less expensive and better than the few places we've tried in the French Quarter and surrounding cities so far.

Once again, tried Copelands on Clearview in Elmwood and it was awful again. This restaurant needs some serious kitchen cooking help. Last visit the pasta wasn't cooked. This visit the Catfish Acadiana was not cooked all the way through. The middle of the fish was uncooked. The waiter was unfriendly. We asked for silverware and never got any until I asked the girls working the front to get our table some silverware. The inside of the restaurant always seems dirty like it needs a serious update. Last visit to this one.

Went for a work lunch a couple days ago. We split the fried bowtie pasta with spinach dip and the crawfish bread as appetizers. The bowtie pasta and dip were absolutely delicious. I then had the oysters rockefeller club sandwich, which was very rich and fatty, but also very good. I like Copeland's enough to go for work lunches every once in a while where I don't have to pay, but probably not enough to go on my own.

We used to go here on a fairly regular basis. We would always get the crab claws and Al's filets. They can't be beat! We went today (a Sunday) around 3 pm. We had about a 40 minute wait, which we were ok with. After being seated, we ordered drinks, salads, and our regular fare. After almost an hour (!) we got salads...still no drinks. The drinks finally came, and we sat for almost another hour waiting for the rest of the food. I asked the waitress if there was a problem in the kitchen, and she seemed on the verge of tears and said there were problems everywhere! We noticed people nearby who came after we did boxing up their leftovers. They had been served without problems. ( not the same waitress) Then the table behind us asked for the manager, and so did the table before them. We were all waiting on food for an extended time. The manager seemed at a loss, and could offer no explanation to any of us. I finally asked the waitress for our check for the drinks and salad, and she came back after a few minutes and said no charge. I am not sure where the problem lies, but we will be getting our steaks elsewhere from now on.

From start to fishing (more on that shortly) was awesome. Victoria rocks as a server and a bartender. The food is great as is the atmosphere! Now onto the finish...a Banana Cow!

I wish I'd never joined the Lagniappe Club! I have been getting repeated emails for red beans and rice at Copelands and I couldn't wait to do so because the picture of the portions are so beautiful but we always ended up at Outback and I wish I had gone there tonight. i decided to pick up 2 orders with a side salad and an order of sausage. For $3.95 I got what amounted to 3 thin sliced of sausage (roughly 3 oz), 1/2 cup portion of red beans and rice (that really wasn't hot, only luke warm), the fish order tasted "fishy" and the chicken was also lukewarm. Luckily the small 1/2 chopped salad was eatable. Nothing looked like the pictures I've been receiving in the email. Of course, to be fair, I did order it to go but I barely had enough to eat (if I'd of eaten it.) Not any more, fair warning.

Absolutely the worst service I've had in a restaurant. The server was trying this rude cute thing that did not work. I could have forgiven it if the service was good beyond that but she managed to get half of the order wrong and couldn't keep drinks filled. She ended up putting pitchers on a table near us and I became the drink filler for the table. The food's OK but not worth the money or service issue...

I've been to Copeland's many times over the years. Over the last year, I've been twice. Service can range from excellent (Dannielle) to horrible (can't even remember his name, probably because I don't want to). Food is usually average. My steak was slightly overdone this last time, but not enough for me to complain. Baked potato was okay. Cheesecake was good. Why such a low rating, you ask? Well, it's pretty simple. Both times I went this year, I got food poisoning. So I guess the next time I want to lose 5 lbs, I'll go to Copeland's. Other than that, I think I'll stay far far away.

Went here Friday night with a friend. We ordered drinks first. I got a dirty martini. It was way too dirty for me. The drink was like a cloud. We then ordered spinach and artichoke dip. It was delicious. Since we had the appetizer we thought to just get a small plate we each ordered the Steak Labouchere. It was tasty. The waitress was very attentive and the service was good.

The fried bow tie pasta with spinach artichoke dip is why we came here. We frequently go to the location in Shreveport.- which is always fabulous. .... this location.... not so much!!!! To be fair... the dip was really the only good part of our meal. Once seated at our table we waited 25 minutes to even get our deinks.... water! Only saw our waitress Echo briefly ...that is until she brought the check.... then she was circling the table. Our food was not up to the Copeland standards that we are used to.... especially for the price. Rather bland for a Cajun restaurant. We ordered the Stuffed Shrimp Alfredo, the Crab Meat Ravioli, and the Shrimp and Crab Cake Alfredo. We decided to skip dessert as we were already disappointed in our food and service. Won't be back to this location.

My boyfriend and I just left here after dining for a late lunch with a gift card. The sad part is that the food is actually good. I have never eaten a meal from here that I didn't like. It may be a bit salty for some, but I really enjoy the flavor. Unfortunately, I find that the portion sizes have significantly decreased recently, but the prices haven't. The lunch prices are still a good deal though. The worst part is the service. Our waitress didn't check on us once, no brownie for the lunch deal, no refills. It felt like she purposely ignored us. When we left we saw her sitting down and eating at a table with other waitresses. I guess she started her break early...

Updating on my previous review about the sirloin steak being small and over cooked, Copeland's was very fast about trying to remedy the situation. The customer service is excellent and I appreciate Kris Rainer for being understanding and offering us a gift card to come back and try again. It was very generous and my husband and I will be back soon.

Alicia rocks. Sit at the bar & you can't go wrong for 2 people. 3 & above please use a table
Really disappointing food and service. Sat at the bar for drinks and a snack. Bartender was very busy with drinks from customers at tables. Bar was filled with dirty dishes from previous customers. Bartender walked past us at least 10 times before I had to flag her down to put in a drink order. At one point, I had to take the dirty dishes and napkins and push them to the edge of the bar so they weren't in front of us. Bartender went missing for about 10 minutes. Had to flag the bartender down again to put in the food order. When the food arrived, it was cold. When the bartender took our order, she had her back to us so she could type it in the POS system. She had a hard time hearing us and we had to order in a really loud voice because she was faced the other way. No one seemed to make sure we were taken care of. Live close by but never going back.

I don't think I've ever been to a Copeland's in Louisiana, but I did go to the ones in Mobile and Pensacola(when they were open). This place is right up there with Pappadauex. They have(or at least they used to have) my all time favorite tropical drink, the Crash & Burn. It's so delicious and I downloaded the recipe from the web and plan to make it in the next few weeks. Think I'll plan a trip to New Orleans just so I can go here.
Had a friend in town that wanted "New Orleans food" and against my better judgement, we ended up here. We should've left when it took nearly 30 minutes to have our order taken! This is more like Applebee's food but more expensive.....meh. Don't waste your money or more importantly, your TIME

Man I grew up on Copeland's! I have very fond memories of going to the one in Slidell and sitting on a chair that seemed a mile high eating catfish and red hot potatoes. I went back a year ago after a 8 year hiatus and talk about nostalgia. Everything tasted just as good, yes it is a N.O. Applebee's but food in New Orleans is miles ahead of anywhere else in the country so even generic chain resturants are amazing.

A couple of comments. First, don't go here, New Orleans Hamburger is way better, and in the same parking lot. Second, the service is exceeded by McDonald's. The waitress was serving a group of only 13, yet the food came out over a period of 15 minutes. Some of our party had already competed their food before we even figured out that my 91 year old grandmother was NEVER going to get more than her side. Another 5 minutes...finally her food came out. Through the course of the 90 minutes our drinks were only filled twice, I filled them 3 times in addition from the service area that appeared on the table next to us. Yes, dirty plates, rags and pitchers showed up o n 2 tables next to us. The server was so rude, shouting from one end of the table. She then messed up orders because she couldn't hear those of us at the other end of the table and was never even apologetic about the mistakes. Two guests never received menus or setups until asked for, I could keep going...but I'll stop there.

I had a really good experience at this location. I got the blackened bayou chicken at another location and was satisfied, but this time it was extra good! The chicken was seasoned perfectly with a good amount of spice, but not overwhelming. The mushroom stuffing was excellent accompaniment and the crawfish cream sauce was decadent and offered yet another flavor element. I was in the mood for comfort food and this definitely filled that craving.

Got the Monday Red Beans and Rice w fish special. Very disappointed tasted like they poured a bottle of liquid smoke in the beans. Popeyes is way better. Sad when they're known for their New Orleans cuisine. The portion was in a very small dish. Totally disappointed. Probably a tablespoon of beans and a big scoop of rice. Sad when beans are so cheap. Fish was salty. The sweat tea was good.

From the moment I walked in I couldn't help but feel like the ppl that worked here were completely over the place and its customers. Every smile I got was forced. My hostess wanted to put me at a four top when it was only gonna be myself and a high chair. Gave me a weird and awkward pause when I asked for a two person table. My server, Bianca I believe, always seemed too busy to give me a moment of genuine customer service. It seemed she wanted to give attitude when I asked for a second cloth napkin but I changed my wording so her attitude eased up. Got my food from someone else &asked for the silverware initially bc my server felt I didn't need them before the app came but the mysterious someone never came back. Asked for a check and boxes and a different mysterious guy brought one box and my check and I apologize but he was holding my food box with his obviously dirty cast covered hand. I didn't wanna be rude so I just took it. Once I realized my server wouldn't be coming for my payment anytime soon I asked for the manager. All in all the food was good but the ppl that work there forget what they're there for. To give paying customers a break from their reality with good food and a smile.

Went in here after we had done the town a few times and other things.. I wanted some beverages with the DH. I figured we'd try Copelands, we were told to try it. Seemed like an upscale fancy / classy joint. Sat in the bar and the service was top notch.. just see Jen. I thought it was cool up by the bar, they had it frosted like with snow looked cool. I ordered the crawfish bites with the spicy / Tangy sauce you should use that dipping sauce, you get two different kinds but the one that isn't thick and creamy is the way to go. Seems like a nice place and would go back, I think it's the equivalency of the "Cheesecake Factory" here in the NW. Would go again if in this area.

I now understand the so-so ratings. It's a nice place, classy and all, but the portions for some of the items are small and the food is good but nothing to go back and brag to friends about. My bowl of gumbo soup was good, but a very small portion. The jambalaya was good as well - again, nothing worth bragging to my visiting co-workers about. As for atmosphere, bring a friend if you want anyone to talk to - not a lot of socializing going on.

I hadn't been to Copeland's in many years. Mainly because this place could vary from 1-4 stars within a single day. Inconsistent is the best word that I could use to describe this place in the past. I went here yesterday(2/9/13) to meet some friends for that I hadnt seen in 15 years for lunch. With Mardi Gras in full force the entire city of Nola was pretty much impossible to navigate plus Vets was shut down due to a parade so our options were limited. On this visit I was pleased overall. I had the shrimp po-boy with fries. The shrimp were a little too greasy but the toasted bread made the po-boy pretty good. My daughter had the chicken alfredo. The chicken was 2 pieces of chicken fried in a horrible batter on the side of the pasta. Odd. My other daughter had the jambalya pasta and it was pretty good. My buddy had the grilled chicken and yams. It looked great and he said was good. The service was actually great. The waiter was attentive but left us alone enough to let us yap it up. Overall Copeland's will always just be ok. It's Nola's version of a chain restaurant. The menu is full of fried seafood's and buttery pastas. There are some hidden gems like the grilled chicken dishes and the steaks are not half bad. When this place is bad it's really bad but when it's good, it's servicable.

Split crawfish bread ($10) for an appetizer and had seafood platter ($23) for lunch. Made for plenty of leftovers as this is a dinner plate. Service was good, despite being busy. A bit noisy inside.

I am not a person who frequent franchise restaurants. But my wife had a desire for crab claws and so few places have that dish on the menu. We sat at the bar and had very good service. Very attentive service with some very good drinks in a laid back atmosphere. The crab claws were wonderful. Served in an olive oil based sauce with garlic and crab meat that has to be enjoyed on the bread that accompanies the dish.

First of all, let me start my stating how much I LOVE the food at Copeland's. The Veal Copeland dish has been one of my favorites for nearly 20 years now! With that being said, my only complaint is around the service and general management of this restaurant. It is located in Harahan, off of Clearview Parkway, which is a relatively busy light industrial part of the city. So, many of the clientele are business people on their lunch breaks. The last few times I have been there, the food was excellent, as always, but the service lacked. Today, for instance, the water served to the table seemed to be in dirty glasses and had food crumbs visible in one glass. Also, the appetizer came out AFTER we received our entrees. The waiter seemed carefree and unapologetic of both instances, almost as if it was not abnormal... The food is unique and delicous, and definitely the best in the area. I am sure that will keep me and many others in the area coming back... just wish that they would pay a little more attention to some of the restaurants other aspects...

Oh how the mighty have fallen. I have fond pre Al Copeland death memories of this location. This was always a great spot for dinner, great food, great service. Now its subpar across the board. We went here a little before mardi gras and they weren't packed at all, but received the worst service I've ever gotten in the city, and the blandest food I've eaten in a long time. The waitress was more concerned with BSing at the front of the restaurant than bringing our food or checking on us. We sat at our table with dirty empty plates stacked on our table the entire time. Had to ask the bartender for refills acuse our waitress wasn't around. Wouldn't have been so ba if we didn't walk past her talking to her co workers doing nothing in the front of the restarant.

Very pleased with my selections! Ordered the new and improved sweet tea, so yummy. I also had a spinach dip as an appetizer, cooked perfectly. How can you not like fried bow tie pasta!? I ordered a petite filet for my entree with a side of rice. My steak was awesome! And the rice, I'm obsessed... Of course we had to finish up with the new tres leches dessert, so good. All in all I was very pleased with this location.

We found this place on 24th (a day before Christmas) on our way to Orlando, Fl. We were looking for some flavor of new Orleans and a guy on gas station close to this restaruant recommended there food. It was full of people and parking lot was full too so we went in with the confidence that we would eat the best food of new orleans but it was a disappoinment. I ordered their special salad by lloking at the picture on the menu and in picture it had shrimps in it. when the salad came, it was without shrimp and they told us that shrimp is an add (although the picture showed shrimp in the salad with its name on it, big time confusion!!)... Crab brisque soup was good and served hot which really made my trip to this place worthwhile. My husband ordered "fresh fish of the day" and it was good although we thought that the serving size was way too smaller that we get in Texas. I ordered "shrimp and Catfish" which was OK. the tomato sauce in it lacked taste and my entree was cold too so I couldnt really enjoy it. When I saw the check, i was a little surprised because it was over $70 for 2 of us. That food was NOT worth $70 at all. 2 stars for the hot soup and causing a confusion on the salad...

Going to Copeland's while growing up in New Orleans was always a treat. While visiting family a few weeks ago, we made a visit to this familiar place and ordered up some familiar dishes like in the past. I ordered the veal copeland and my wife ordered the oyster poboy. We shared the spinach dip as an appetizer. I am not sure if my taste buds have hanged or if the place has increased their use of salt and butter. Everything was on the salty end of the taste spectrum and lots of butter was used especially on the French bread for the poboy. The upside of our visit was the 20% is discount you get for checking in with yelp. We also shared the white chocolate bread pudding which was very taty and sweet. Of the things we ate, he best thing about our meal was the dessert.

Copeland's now features 4pm to close happy hour with SELECT $5 appetizers and drinks... be aware, it's not the full appetizer & drink menu items ie NO crawfish bread or broccoli balls (my favs). But it's still a treat because you can get the $5 hurricanes and $5 crash and burn (not the large size) & other drinks as well. The food is tasty (as usual) and the drinks aren't watered down.

Don't go here, and if you go be very careful with your bill, ours was padded considerably and we didn't see it until we got home because we were busy on a business discussion. The food was OK but the service was poor and then we paid way to much for the meal.

T.G.I. Friday's + New Orleans = Copeland's. It's a chain restaurant. Fried food city. Don't expect the Ritz and you won't be disappointed. If you're not from New Orleans, don't eat here. If you are, enjoy your heart attack!

Now, my co-workers and I try to eat something different on our Friday lunch get togethers and 1 of them had a hankering for cheesecake so we decided on Copeland's. I would have given them a 4 or 5 star rating but the service from our server left a little to be desired. We only get an hour for lunch and we were off the clock for an hour and 35 minutes. I also have a complaint about the fact that I got the bread pudding TO GO and rather than put the sauce in cups, they put it on the bread pudding and half of it had spilled out by time I got back to work. One of my co-workers told the server no "green stuff" on her food and low and behold her food came out with parsley on top of it. She had to pick it all off and she was not happy about that. We never have an issue with the food as it's always good and comes out hot and they have a good variety of everything.

Not really a fan of this Copeland's location.Every time I come here it has an odor that smells like wet carpet.I usually order the same thing which is the corn & crab soup with a penthouse salad.I must say their soup does not have a consistent taste or texture.Sometimes it looks and taste just right and other times its TOOOO thick and taste like its the same soup from the day before and water was added to it.Also I noticed while sitting at the bar I noticed that there were an awful lot of "fruit flies" flying around and there was also an odor over there....All & all this place needs to be torn down, remodeled and get some new cooks.

I guess this place is just no longer a viable lunch "hour" option. Every time we've gone lately, everything seems to take too long and we always go over an hour. Not enough to make me get on yelp though. Today would be that exception. I think mostly because the waiter didn't seem too concerned or apologetic about it. We were seated immediately but took a while to get a waiter, to get our drinks and order an appetizer. It was about a 20 minute wait for the appetizer. And we had no plates with it. Even longer wait for the food and we were told the biscutis would be right out. A few of us had the lunch specials which include a small dessert. The brownies are gross and one of us got a mystery block which I think was supposed to be bread pudding with no sauce. It also was gross. We finally got our biscuits at the end of the meal in ONE go-box. There were five of us. Also took forever to bring us the check. Even if they're busy, I don't understand how that could take so long. It was my friend's birthday so on the up-side, she did get a free piece of cheesecake. I don't know if it was any good. She had to take it to go because we were already 45 mins over our lunch hour. Overall the food was ok but highly disappointed in the service. While the waiter was not rude, he did not seem happy to be there at all and I think his pocket full of flying f*%ks to give about his customers was TOOOOTALLY empty. Merry Christmas!

Copeland's used to be OK. But now... Huge plates of inferior food. I also find some of their choices of sides or sauces sort of random. Like let's just throw everything at the plate and see what sticks, random. I used to like this original location (and one of my brothers worked in the kitchen in the 80s~maybe), but now I just think it's past its prime.

Soo, this is a joint review by my husband and I. He was hot in the room we were seated; I was ok. Berry Blast was a good Martini (a little heavy in the Chambord), They have no beers on draft, so he got a Abita Amber in a bottle; Onion mum was good, burger on croissant ok, crab n eggplant pasta good would have liked a little more sauce; strawberry cheesecake delicious, but I was given a reg cafe au lait instead of creole cafe au lait; biggest upside was my check-in to YELP saved us 20% on the check. All in all ok

Al Copeland simultaneously invented and ruined his own style of Creole cuisine. There are a few dishes that are ok (Veal Copeland, Shrimp and Tasso Pasta), but most are pretty sub par. As my mom put it, "it is a dark New Orleans themed Applebees." I couldn't agree with her more. I ordered the Fish of the day last time I was there, with the option muniere sauce. I was then asked wether I wanted the fish grilled or blackened, to which I replied, very confusedly, "the muniere fish isn't fried?" he told it was not, and when I asked If I could get fried fish with muniere sauce, he told me that none of the items on the menu said that, so he couldn't do that. I ended up with the ricochet catfish which tasted like bold flavored chex mix. There is no beer on tap either (while for some odd reason they have vodka on tap), and had a beer selection that read like, well, applebees (or any national restaurant that doesn't have anything local or seasonal).

This review is ONLY for the way the Clearview location handles online orders. I have eaten here a few times for lunch/dinner & have experienced no problems with the service or food. However, I have used their online ordering at this particular location no less than 10 times & there is always an issue. I have spent hundreds of dollars here( yes, I am a glutton for punishment). I usually place my order about 2 hours before my pick up time to make sure it will be ready on time. It NEVER is. Apparently, when you order online, the order is faxed to a fax machine at the dessert counter. For some reason, they never seem to get the fax & they make me wait an additional 15-20 minutes while it is put in. I've been comp'd a free dessert a couple of times & have also had to cancel my orders altogether. One of the associates also suggested (with an attitude, I might add) that in additional to ordering online, I should probably call the restaurant to verify that they have gotten my order. WHAT?! So, this past Friday, I do that 15 minutes before I have to pick it up & they tell me that they don't have it??? Food was good, although they failed to follow my "no sauce" requests on my onion mum & other things. All I can say is I am done with this location. I want to stress, it has only been the CLEARVIEW location. I order from Cheesecake Bistro on Vets all the time & have not issues at all. I know being prompt may be a small thing in the eyes of this location & its' associates but the reason I order online is because somebody in my family has a medical condition & needs to eat on time , every day. Isn't the online system supposed to be a convenience? Lets recap. Okay dining in. Horrible online ordering experience. Food is always good, with a caveat........ when it is prepared the way you request it to be.

My parents insisted upon ordering takeout from Copelands last night because my mom hadn't been in years and used to love it. It's hard to agree on dinner spots when they come into town because they're not big on ethinc fare, so my boyfriend and I agreed to do Copelands. We had to do the curbside take out because their dog is sick and couldn't be left home alone. We ordered two appetizers (bayou broccoli and stuffed mushrooms) and one entree each (ricochet catfish, catfish acadiana, crab stuffed eggplant and crab cakes & shrimp alfredo). A total of $75 in food. When I got home with it, they had forgotten one of my dad's sides (mac & cheese) and threw what looked like a half-eaten biscuit in the box. There were 5 stuffed mushrooms with a bit of generic sauce in a cup (for $8) and about 6 broccoli balls with the same generic sauce (for $7). There was also a random cup of melted cheese and bacon pieces in that box for a reason I'm still uncertain of. My mom took one taste of her fish and said "oh, this doesn't taste like it used to." She ended up mostly picking at her dinner. My crab cakes were clearly the cheap frozen variety and had been tossed with some too-salty alfredo and Chinese shrimp. My boyfriend didn't complain about his, but then again, he will eat anything and nobody wants to complain about a meal your girlfriend's father just bought. My dad had it the worst really and he's quite the hearty (and vocal) eater, so this did not sit well with him. I thought about calling to ream out the manager, but what would be the use? I'm sure they won't return the cost of our meal and I certainly don't care to be given a free meal there. Mostly I just want to erase this meal from my consciousness, as it kept me up most of the night sick anyway. Having had breakfast at Cake Cafe and then lunch at Cochon Butcher yesterday, this was just a pitiful laughing stock of a meal. I would've never eaten here on my own, but maybe my parents will trust me now when I say I can find us a better meal outside of a crappy chain.

Just a marginal resturant. Fortunately, Copelands is one of the only few "New Orleans Chains" that have been able to accurately depit Louisiana food outside of New Orleans. However, when you live in NOLA, why eat here? The food here is decent tasting but with so many resturants in the surrounding area being able to provide you with better food for the same, if not, cheaper prices, why bother?

I have always had pleasant dining experiences at other Copeland's so imagine my surprise when I visited this one. This location smelled like dirty mop water. Table and menus were sticky. I felt like the outdoor smoking area would have been a better choice. Dish portions were small and bland. My brother had a steak that was disappointingly small and overcooked. Dessert display did not look appealing at all. This was an overpriced waste- of-time lunch. Will not return.

This place just keeps going downhill. Do not get any of their pastas, unless you like eating overcooked, mushy pasta.

I have been fine with Copeland's on the couple of occasions we have eaten there in the past -- it never bowled me over, but I enjoyed it. But our recent experience there was laughably bad. We went in for drinks and appetizers. Wanted to sit at the bar, but there were dirty dishes at every empty seat, so we sat at a table instead. There were some napkins and trash on the floor nearby -- in the aisle, not tucked under tables. We ordered drinks, and my martini was pretty much melted ice water with a little flavor added, and it was tepid. I sent it back (and I am generally not a sender-backer of anything.) The replacement tasted all right (not great.) The appetizers we ordered included the spinach-artichoke dip (fine) and the crawfish bread (gross -- very fishy tasting.) Almost before we finished, the woman who cleans tables was hustling us out, so zealous to move us along that she dumped dirty utensils into my husband's lap. (We were not there at a busy time, either.) We then paid way more than made sense for the experience we had had. The only real positive was my husband's beer, which they poured into a glass reasonably well, and our server (not the person who removed our dishes), who struggled bravely against considerable odds to attempt to give us a pleasant experience. Her decent work notwithstanding, I do not recommend eating at the Copeland's we experienced.

Huge hype about this place from coworkers. After finally deciding to give it a taste I wasn't too impressed. Definitely something like an applebees on steroids. Steak was alright but not worth the price. Best food I have eaten there is the mac n cheese. Atmosphere is nice, dark and nice date night experience.

Al Copeland must be turning over in his grave! What has happened to this place? Bad service, food quality has diminished. Come on Al, Jr. ! Read all of these reviews and do something before it is too late.

I used to work at a Copeland's awhile back and used to eat there daily just about. This is NOT the same Copeland's I ate at! I have no idea how you can differ as drastically as Copeland's does, but they have accomplished to seem like two different establishments entirely. The service was great, but the food on the other hand was meh. I give them an extra star just for the service. My crawfish fettuccine tasted as though the crawfish was made out of rubber and the noddles were under cooked and almost crunchy. I made a statement to my waitress and she then started talking about how the kitchen is awful. I couldn't help but be entertained because of my past waiter experiences with a horrible kitchen. She asked if I wanted to return it, but I couldn't do that to her. I wouldn't say avoid this place, but don't expect the best food. There are better places out there, but the atmosphere in here still isn't bad.

Dinner Friday 5 pm. Spinach & Artichoke Dip w/ fried pasta to dip. Not bad, had better elsewhere. Dinner salad, lg. For $5.00, good. Fresh fish Lacombe, trout or catfish w/ dill Shrimp sauce. $13 good came with 2 sides. Mix veggies ok, sweet potatoes very good. Came with biscuit, always great. Spouse had Shrimp & grits, not to spouse's taste. Not what he expected. Service Excellent.

Ate here this past weekend and must say I was a bit disappointed. The appetizer was good and that was the buffalo spring rolls! We ate them very fast. Loved the sauce they came with too. The main entrees looked good, but they just were not. I ordered the crab stuffed shrimp Alfredo and it was not seasoned well. The only thing that really had flavor was the stuffed shrimp but the Alfredo sauce and noodles were sort of bland. My friends food was also thrown on her plate and didn't look appetizing. I've eaten here once before in 2012 and ordered the same thing and it was so delicious that I had to come have it again. However, it was not good this time. Service was okay.

I love this place I have been coming here for a couple years now...... Food is always fresh and tasted. Staff are wonder3

Compliments to the photographer !!! first time steak was burnt got sick second time from gumbo, tuna had no flavor

(1)Lisa P.

(4)Cheryl C.

(2)Amy S.

We trekked across town to meet some old friends for dinner and try an old New Orleans classic restaurant. Parking lot is small but there's an overflow lot in the back with plenty of spaces. We met inside and were seated right away. Waiter took our drink order and allowed us time to peruse the menu. I ordered Crawfish Fettuccine ad wifey ordered Crawfish Étouffée. The server came back a few mins later to deliver the bad news....Étouffée was not available tonight because they ran out of sauce. She opted for the Eggplant Pirogue instead. Flavors and taste were right on point. We miss the spices and dishes from New Orleans so we're trying to eat authentic dishes all week. Prices were reasonable, service was great and the food hit the spot.
(4)R A.

After my fiancé proposed to me, he and my best friend took me here for a late lunch on the 15th of December. It was obviously the end of a lunch rush but our server only had the three of us and two other tables. It took a long time for her to even acknowledge us, even though she paced around us several times. When she finally greeted us, we were not given a name and she took drinks and food at the same time. It had been at least 10 min at this point. It took another 15 to get two waters and a coke. We didn't see her again until the food came. She avoided our table all together. Just when we had decided to say " to hell with it" and go to Taco Bell instead, our food arrived. It had been 45 min. Not well done burgers or anything, they ordered off the lunch menu. The food was hot and tasted ok but most of it was just disappointing. My husbands medium burger had obviously been sitting for awhile in the window and the fries were cold. My catfish bordelaise was not fresh tasting and seemed like it had been thawed and prepped a day or so ahead of service. The best part of the meal was the crab ravioli app. My fiancé and I are both restaurant supervisors in the quarter and expect better from a local chain. The service was lacking and for a semi fine dining restaurant, the bathrooms resembled something your would see on bourbon street. They were all clogged, out of paper and absolutely disgusting. Won't waste my money there again.
(2)Heather R.
Had a friend in town that wanted "New Orleans food" and against my better judgement, we ended up here. We should've left when it took nearly 30 minutes to have our order taken! This is more like Applebee's food but more expensive.....meh. Don't waste your money or more importantly, your TIME
(1)Stro S.
We had a 10 minute wait at 2:45 on a Saturday. Food was just alright. I got a side salad and could tell it was straight from a bag. Took 10 minutes for them to pick up te check.
(2)Bobby K.
(5)J D.
Always delicious! Had a light dinner but always love to eat there. The crab claws are always great!
(4)Bryce O.
(1)Faith A.
(4)Sharon R.

(4)John S.

(3)Maddie R.
The wait there was pretty long for a $10+ mediocre hamburger.
(1)Trevor J.
Split crawfish bread ($10) for an appetizer and had seafood platter ($23) for lunch. Made for plenty of leftovers as this is a dinner plate. Service was good, despite being busy. A bit noisy inside.
(4)Harry T.
(3)Matt R.
(3)Brandon A.

Excellent service, wonderful food! My favorite Copeland's here in New Orleans.

Food is always great.. first time at this location.. i found there was a musty smell in the restaurant.. maybe they were just doing some cleaning... i will be making the extra drive to kenner if i want copelands
