My mother and I went in on a seafood night and the main seafood they were serving was crab legs. My mother opened them up and they looked like they had seen a ghost. Crab legs aren't supposed to literally look dead, they're supposed to be pink! I was like oh no this has never happened before it has to be a fluke! She opened up different sets of legs and the meat was all white. We ended up throwing it all away which sucks because I hate wasting food. It still makes me weep to this day lol. D:

Ate here on a recommendation from a friend. I must admit, I was pleasently surprised. This casino is in the middle of nowhere. I expected it to be a dive roadside joint, but it was quite nice. There was ample parking when we arrived. We were in a group of 11. To start off, I must say BRAVO to this restaurant for offering a 50% discount for military members and their families. My wife and I paid $13 for the both of us. The buffet was pretty good. The only thing that really stood out was the fried chicken. It was delicious. The carving station had ham and turkey. Both were good. The onion rings were terrible. Desserts were ok. I got the carrot cake and bread pudding. Again, both were ok. Overall, our group had a great lunch. The food was average, but the service was good and we certainly appreciated the great price due to their military rates. We will definitely go back, but not too soon. As with any big buffet, I ate way more then I should have. Pros: 50% military discount, friendly service, large dining area great for groups and kids.

Went there just to eat crawfish, and all the crawfish they was serving seemed to be reboiled, or all the crawfish were dead prior to boiling. Soft, and uneatable. I can't see how those crawfish made it out of the kitchen.

This is the buffet located at Boomtown casino. Usually the main reason I come here is for business lunches. There is something for everyone to eat here. I hurt myself everytime I come, so I try not to come here often. The food is good, not great but way better than say Ryans. Again the healthy choices are sparse, but who comes to a buffet to eat healthy right? The wait staff are friendly as well and are quick with the drinks.

This review will be about the buffet. I went to eat here on Friday for their seafood buffet. The food is good and for the price you pay it better be ($31.99 per person). The snow crab is seasoned just right. I love their mashed potatoes, fried chicken and fried oyster the best. My server Lan was amazing. She gave quick refills and cleaned the table in a timely matter with all the plates we piled up. They have charbroiled oyster here as well, but be prepared to wait for them. There's always a line and if you're the 5-6 person in line you probably will have to wait longer since the others will take most of it. I don't blame them. If I'm standing in line waiting for them I will get enough so I won't feel the need to eat them again. I noticed not a lot of people tip here either. Let me get his right; you want to blow all your money in the casino, but can't fork up $5-$10 for people that's cleaning up your mess? Please be kind and remember to tip if you eat here. Anyway, if you have money to blow and don't want a poboy at the bayou market or some asian dishes come over to the buffet. If you can eat a lot it won't be a total waste of money, but then again you're at the casino so you already wasting money.

My mom receives free buffets and other offers all the time, so I was excited that every Sunday during the month of January 2015, Boomtown is offering a $20 brunch buffet. When I read that it's serving shrimp and grits, waffles, and will have a live band playing, I was in! The brunch lineup was awesome! There was everything to include pork and beef carving station, gumbo, corn and crab bisque, shrimp & grits, bacon, sausage, waffles, freshly made & personalized omelets, seafood, and an assortment of deserts. Everything was fresh, hot, and plentiful. The live jazz band was awesome. They even served mimosas and champagne. I believe this is a one time promotion, but if Boomtown sets it as a regular thing, this place will be packed every Sunday. Perfect for families and groups.

Since I signed up for the Boomtown card, they send me special offers each month. Every once in a while, it's a free buffet. If it's free, I'm not going to pass it up! The interesting thing about Boomtown, versus most other casinos, is that kids are actually allowed inside (not the casino itself, but they can certainly come to the various dining establishments). I didn't know this the first time, and we sent our daughter to spend the night with her grandmother. However, we have visited the buffet a couple of times since, and she enjoys it... plus, she's 2, so she eats free. The most recent visit was for my birthday. I used my free Birthday buffet coupon, and combined it with the monthly free buffet coupon (thus, we all ate for free, other than a tip). The food is consistent and good. Not great, but good, especially for a buffet. I would recommend going on a Friday or Saturday evening, so it's busier and they replenish the food quicker. This isn't as big as most other casino buffets, but there is a nice variety of local fare, plus other American staples. I don't know that I would come here and pay full price. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't, actually. For the price of a meal, I would much rather go and enjoy a normal non-buffet restaurant. However, I'm not one to turn down free food, so as long as they send the coupons, I'll continue to return!

pleasantly surprised by this buffet. Went on a weekday (i guess weekends are really expensive) and i think it was around $13 or so. the food was better than expected. Gumbo i heard was good but it was blah. but their turkey, ham, corn bread, brisket are all excellent. Other foods are not great, but ok. They have a decent variety of southern soul food and cajun food. Would go again at the weekday price, but i wouldn't pay more than $15 for this buffet.

I've gone to this buffet about a half dozen times and I generally really like the lunch buffet, but the dinner buffet leaves a lot to be desired. Generally the food is quite decent and far superior to Harrah's buffet in New Orleans. (Harrah's is apparently where old buffets go to die.) But the service at Boomtown is just short of nonexistent to hideously bad. I don't know if the waitstaff are from another planet where not giving a *#& is the measure of success, but if so, then these folks are hella-successful. I recently hit the dinner buffet, which on the web site says it's $10.99 but when you get there is actually $31 (THIRTY-ONE BUCKS!). Upon further examination, weekend buffets are different, on the web site there's some fine print that says, "Just earn 10 points on your Mychoice card." Doh! So I'm at the buffet and there is shrimp here, shrimp there, shrimp everywhere... so I'm looking for some cocktail sauce... nowhere to be found... my friend got herself a salad bar and ended up putting tartar sauce on the salad thinking it was blue cheese dressing, because of course, it makes perfect sense to have runny tartar sauce right next to ranch and other salad dressings at the salad bar! So I ask a waitress, "Do you have any cocktail sauce?" "No, sir." "Are you sure?" "Yes." "Do you have any horseradish?" "No." Then after trudging through dried up fried shrimp and bland boiled shrimp and oily BBQ shrimp with no cocktail sauce I look up and there's a chef putting out cocktail sauce in little cups. F you waitstaff. F you hard! When you get stiffed on the tip, it's not because we're cheap bastards. It's because you suck. Also, I had always wondered what would happen to ice tea if was allowed to get warm and not refilled... Thanks for solving that mystery! Also, as expected, there's no bathroom nearby. You have to hail a cab and go down the neighborhood to use the bathroom and wash the crab juice off your hands.... but be wary of the paper towel machines that automatically dispense paper towels. By my calculation, you get one segment of paper-towel every time Haley's comet passes through our solar system. So if you don't mind the horrible, horrible service and the weird ways in which they try to save money by rationing napkins and cocktail sauce, it's not bad if you're in the area. The trick is to hit the lunch buffet late... just before it switches to dinner and then get the dinner for the price of lunch.. just avoid the weekends.
