Don't let the convenience store title scare you away from this gem! This was my first visit so the ordering then pay after you get your food process they have was a little confusing, but the food was worth it. They are known for their Po Boys and Muffalatas. The small is 7 inches round and a good 4 inches high.

Defiantly worth a try! The price is great for the amount of food! I got the 8" roast beef dressed/sloppy and could only eat 1/2. My husband got the 6" fried shrimp. The shrimp were popping out because there were a lot of those suckers AND they were spicy.

Yes, the muffuletta is all that. The kitchen is clean, the people friendly, portions big, prices fair. Darn I love southern food. We can't buy a sandwich this good where I live at any price.

I totally agree with the above (or Below) postee. I moved away from La (New Orleans) for the storm and my parents moved up here to Hammond. My mom always bragged bout this place named Ryan's that has great food like "the city" (New Orleans). I was like Yeah Right... but then my Grum'ma said the same thing and she dont lie bout good eats! So when I visited my mom took me there and Awwwwe Maannnn! The food was ROLLIN' (lol) Now its one of the few places I eat from in Hammond that taste like HOME!

Ok this was the perfect end to my weekend on the bayou. Just wow! Ok so I go down to New Orleans for the first time ever to stay wiht my lady friend and her newly found biological father, affectionately referred to as her "bayou-daddy." Well after spending three days drunk and getting up at 10 am only to be napping again by 1:00 pm, we ended our weekend with a stop at the first place we saw that had food. As a side note, none of the people we were staying with had all of their teeth so they did not care to eat as much as was necessary to stay alive. Anyhoo Ryan's, if you stumbled on this and are looking for that authentic hole in the wall poor boy sammich, THIS IS IT! Honestly I spent like $6 and I have enough food for two people. Friend shrimp po' boy is it! I love this place so much I called there after Katrina just to make sure they made it. I will be back!

Delicious! Had the shrimp po-boy and muffuletta. Muffuletta best I've had! Plan to be my spot whenever I'm in town.

Coming from Los Angeles, I was a little skeptical when i pulled up. But the food was great. I had the shrimp poboy and it was fantastic. I highly recommend.

My family got the Fish/Shrimp Seafood Platter and let me tell you, I would say it is as good, even better, than some famous New Orleans seafood restaurants. You get 2 pounds of seafood, about a pound of fries, and about a loaf of French Bread. Not only was the food amazing, but it was cheap! $23.99 fed my family and we still had left overs. We've also had their muffuletta's before and they have the best muffuletta's around. I would definitely recommend anyone to come here. Great customer service.

I have eaten there a bunch of times. Best BBQ brisket I ever had in my life. The other stuff is pretty good too.

This is the best place around to get a po boy. I like the shrimp, oyster, catfish, and burger. Real po boy bread out of New Orleans. The crunch is awesome.

One of the best shrimp po boys around. Perfectly seasoned crunchy popcorn shrimp. I always ask for extra mayo because it can be a little dry. The bread for their po boys is inconsistent. I will likely start either ordering it with a bun or just the shrimp basket. Fries are good if you eat there.

This place is on an unassuming road in a gas station. I was leary to try but reviews are accurate I had probably the best tuna sandwich I have ever had. My husband got a shrimp poboy which looked good. The fries are made fresh and everything looks homemade. The front counter lady taking orders was super sweet and made you feel welcomed. If I ever find myself out this way again I will try again.

Anyone from New Orleans knows about Central Grocery. Well... Central Grocery can't hold a candle to this place!!! Absolutely GREAT sandwiches! You will not leave hungry. Muffulettas 4" thick of meat, not olive salad!! Bing search Central Grocery New Orleans. Click on the first link. There is a photo of their muffuletta. That is about 1" of meat. Trust me, Ryan's is 10x's better.
