How could a hometown favorite get anything other than 5 stars? I've been going to Lee's now for 15 years and I've never been disappointed. They have such variety in their food and their service is constantly awesome. On this last trip we all ordered burgers. But how could you go wrong with a burger at a diner? You can't! We also had their shakes which are always worth the extra calories. I recommend the onion rings as an appetizer. You won't be disappointed.

We finally got to try this place after attempting to before but it was packed. The food was good. Service was friendly and attentive. Loved how it had the old time diner look. My husband got the big daddy burger and it was huge and he said it tasted awesome. I got the catfish Poboy and the fish tasted fresh. Wasn't a fan of the fries but they have alternatives. Kids also loved their food and ice cream. I will be returning and would suggest giving this place a try!!

This place has been around forever! It is a well-kept secret among the locals. Their food is excellent! almost everything is fresh. They cut their ribeyes themselves, hamburger meat never frozen. There's a brief history on the menu. The list of delicious food from this diner goes on and on; seafood gumbo, all of their salads are delicious, their steaks and hamburgers as I mentioned, grilled pork chops, their hand cut ham battered onion rings. I actually used to work at the Steiner, so I can tell you that everything is fresh and delicious!

We are always looking for a place to stop on our trip to Florida from Texas. A friend recommended Lee's Drive-In Diner. The food was very good and the wait staff very friendly! The burgers were good...fries not great (needed to be crispier). However, the red beans and rice and crawfish étouffée were definitely worth a return trip. We can't wait to go back to Lee's!

Visited my son who attends college nearby and we hit this place up for dinner. Perfect pick! Charming, old fashioned diner but clean and bright inside. I had the shrimp and tasso ham fettucine....it was the bomb! I could not eat it all so my son took a doggy bag with him. The guys had shrimp po boys. My son loves good bread and he says the rolls they use for the sandwiches is the best. Pics are posted of the food we received. I will definitely eat here again!

I had been told to go check out Lee's Drive In for breakfast, though I had only known about them for lunch and dinner menus. Truth be told, as a kid, we'd come here to the drive-in, so it has some serious nostalgia value for me. As an adult coming back, I must say I was impressed with the food -- portions and quality were all A-OK. It's your typical diner fare -- eggs, meat, biscuits, pancakes. The 3 stars just comes from it feeling like a greasy spoon establishment. I just didn't feel like I was eating in the cleanest of surroundings, but hey, I guess in historic buildings, that's what you get! We were however very impressed with what we ordered. I got the Rebel omelette. It was overflowing with bacon, sausage, mushrooms and cheese. Then the biscuit served on the side was pure enriched flour and Crisco goodness. We also got the Skywalker breakfast, which was a chicken fried steak with breakfast fixin's. Another good selection. Lastly, the pancakes breakfast was tasty too.

The staff here treat customers like they're vermin, the food is not worth the wait, and the prices are too high for the quality and service. I wouldn't go here.

Don't expect to get quality service here. Waitresses approach you like it's a chore and try to rush you out as soon as possible. You might even catch an eye roll or two. You can also see your server go on break and watch them sucking down cigarettes within eye shot. Once even witness an altercation with a server and a cook with one shouting "he's trying to stab me!" Floors and tables are often dirty and you can hear lots of cursing from the kitchen.

Not the cleanest place in the world and the menus are in a terrible font that makes it harder to read for some. I only have ordered burgers here and let me tell from a burger enthusiast have been quite impressed. They have never over cooked my well done burgers that any other restaurant in the area would do. The burgers average around $5-6.50 per half pound burger. The biggest downside is no fries with the burger.... Yet fries come with basically every other order on the menu.

GREAT place to get lunch! Sure, it's not the healthiest food in Hammond, but it sure is good (although there a few healthy choices on the menu)! The service is always pretty good and the food comes out fast. I have never had anything that I didn't like, and the place is always consistent as far as quality is concerned. To top it off, the atmosphere is great. Lee's is a great place to enjoy a meal with friends and/or family!

To all people foreign to this area - If you want to get to know everything about the small town of Hammond in 1 day, just hang out at Lee's on Friday around lunch. The food's consistently good, I mean, it's what you'd think you'd get in an American style diner in a small town. But the essence of this place lies in it's history and long lasting popularity. The nostalgic feel to Lee's is authentic, it's been there forever. The Drive-in hasn't changed since it opened in the 40s. If you want to use the drive-in section, you must order and pick up from the outside window. There's picnic tables available if you don't want to sit in your car. Everyone knows each other in this restaurant, so if you're new, don't be surprised if someone wants to know your story. (Don't worry, they're friendly) Every time I eat at Lee's, there's a group of old men near the front windows, at least 1 family coming from a sports event and/or some silly girls being silly girls at the drive-in section. If you want to know Hammond, go to Lee's Drive-In.

Lee's is a great little place to grab lunch. Variety of items on the menu. Staff is average, friendly enough. Been here a few times and on one occasion the side seating area had a bit of a fly problem. I do recommend trying here at least once.
