Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Highly recommended by the hotel concierge, checked out the yelp reviews, and decided to give it a shot. Overall a good experience. Not life altering, but good value for the money. Food was good. Decent salsa with a mild kick, and tortilla chips were flavorful and not too greasy. The Monterrey chicken is a flavorful alternative to dishes with lots of tortilla. Good veggies and queso alongside. Service was friendly and fast - I had a beer in hand within 5 minutes of sitting down, which I think is a good metric for service speed. Prices were reasonable - under $20 for everything.

Love Avacado salad here. Food and service here are excellent. The servers here are eager to serve you. Plenty of free chips and salsa. Have to say this one in Hammond is so much better than the one in Covington. Both food and service here make it worthwhile to drive to Hammond.

Had the Avocado Salad with shrimp and it was amazing! The House margarita was really good too. We'll definitely be back! Worth the drive out.

Favorite location. Food and service is always wonderful! Only reason not leaving five stars is because I'm deducting a star for the noise level. It's already pretty loud but add live music and you will leave with a migraine and your ears ringing/bleeding. Love their steak and eggs! Absolutely amazing

Our favorite Friday night spot for great food, drinks, and service.

Best food and service around! Every time I come to LA my family and I must eat here. The atmosphere is casual yet has an upscale vibe.I wore a dress and flip flops while my cousin wore wedges and shorts. Homemade guac was delish! Also I went out of the box and tried the Jalepeno dish which was the best decision of my life!! This was the first time I have came to LA since having a baby and the staff was very kind and helpful with him. The server even lifted him into the high chair for me! :):)

Best Mexican in the area. Love their queso. Ask for wheat chips - made to order. They have lots not great food. I recommend the GRILLED chicken quesadilla. Good choice of beer and awesome margaritas. Awesome service. Often have live music.

I have been eating here since they opened. The quality is slowly, but surely, going downhill. I've quit going.

Went with family. Asked for queso and bean dip. Waiter brought queso with bean dip in it. He screwed up every order we had and then when he went to fix it, came back with it screwed up. I complained and got told i couldn't have my money back, but he told me he'd comp a meal..just not this one. Total bs. The children's quesadillas came with chicken with no mention of it on the menu...my kids don't eat chicken. The waiter seemed annoyed that I asked for cheese quesadillas, the standard on kids menus.

Classic Tex-Mex. Service was wonderful. Food was fast and hot. Beautiful patio to enjoy, even in December! Portions were large, too.

Wonderful spot. Lots of outdoor seating (with outdoor-fans aplenty on hot days), good service, great food. Excellent margaritas, ceviche, nachos...my family has been several times now, and every experience has been fast, tasty, comfortable, and not too hard on the wallet. Only slight drawback: noise from the streets around it and the trains that travel VERY close by. Love this joint. Can't recommend it highly enough. :)

hen on Amtrak I always notice the crowd at this restaurant when we go through downtown Hammond. Tonight we were in Hammond and decided to try it. We had a table outside by the fountain - great view of downtown, the live music was at the right level and the live oak behind us was lighted for the evening. Our server Kathryn was excellent and our salads were very good. Price for two with drinks was around $40 - a good value. There is plenty of free parking and downtown Hammond is a great place to take a stroll before or after the meal.

I've been here three times and all three times I was not impressed. I was not familiar with the menu and got a taco salad because it has guacamole in it. When I got my salad there was no guacamole! I did sub out the ground beef with steak and that was delicious but the salad was boring.

The best Mexican food I've eaten at a cheap price. I usually get the quesadillas and the queso dip. The staff is usually good and the outside dining can be great on a nice day.

Like this location and the new one in Covington on Hwy 190 by WalMart. Good Tex-Mex food.

One of the places we frequent. It's consistently good.

This is the place to go in Hammond for mexican food especially if the weather is nice and you can take advantage of their large patio. If I lived in Hammond I'm sure I'd see people I know every time I went. Right downtown in the middle of it all. Oh, the food is edible too, and I know me some Mexican food.

Great margaritas, great super fast service. Prices are getting a bit high for mexican, but the atmosphere, food, and drinks are worth it.
