Well while going on the search for good food on North Shore, I found this place in the middle of no where. Well no where being Hammond I guess. None the less, I thought I would try it out. Upon entrance, it is just like every other Asian food buffet. Big dragons and the typical decor. Unlike most of the buffets though, they resisted to put pizza on their buffet. Two thumbs up for that. I did my typical thing of grabbing a plate and trying to devour everything in sight before my stomach knew I was full. The food was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because it is the North Shore and it is all you can eat buffet. After feeling that I was going to pop, I get enough strength to make it to the bathroom. That is where I discovered the best discovery in a long time. Apparently this place has 2 monkeys that come in to the bathroom and use it as their love palace. That is the only way this bathroom was destroyed like this. Two chimps come in every night and just go to town. I mean the ceiling is torn down. Soap dispensers hanging from the wall. I mean I've seen the destructive force of humans, but this was no human. It was prolly a genetically altered chimp that escaped from a government research lab and came to have little super chimp babies. Well back to the seriousness, this place has great food, but is totally cool with their bathroom being completely destroyed. Come for the food, just stay out of the male bathroom. Super chimp just may get you.

I stopped in for lunch thinking how can you ruin a Chinese buffet? Well I found out. Overcooked rice, chewy beef, undercooked vegetables. I am not really that critical but wish I had kept driving.

Clean, fresh, plentiful americanized asian food. Service is excellent. They have an ok variety of choices. Its Chinese buffet. But done right and at a fair price. There is such a limited amount of dining options in Tangipahoa parish that this little place stands out.

It seems there is a lack of Chinese food in southern Louisiana, so my wife and I were very happy to find this place pretty close to our house. We generally like chinese food and chinese buffet options because we both have an easy time finding food that meets our specific dietary requirements (shes vegetarian). We tried to go to China Garden at 9:12 pm the first time, because google said they were open...they were not open. We tried again the next day for dinner, and they were open, but there was hardly anyone else in there...just a few lonely looking guys sitting alone and ingesting multiple massive platefuls of food very quickly. The atmosphere was just weird, and not in a good way. The guy who sits at the front and rings people up and sends orders to the kitchen on his walkie talkie made my wife feel uneasy. We decided against the buffet option because the buffet didnt look that great...it was small, with limited options and it was kind of overpriced considering. So we asked for a menu and decided to take a look at that instead. It took us a while to decide what we wanted to order because we were trying to figure out if it was a better deal to order off the buffet or the menu. All the while the front walkie talkie man kept making us feel rushed and like we were doing something wrong by thoroughly looking over our options before ordering. Finally we decided to just order off the menu and take the food to go so that we didnt have to sit in there any longer and inconvenience "walkie talkies". The food came out fast and the to-go boxes it was in were stuffed full. I wish I could say the food sucked, so that Id never be tempted to go back there, but the food was actually really good. Some of the better chinese food I have had in quite a while. The lo mein especially comes to mind...it was not your typical bland lo mein, it was juicy, and well-seasoned and very flavorful with a lot of meat and vegetables. The food was really the only redeeming quality about this place. I might be back to get some lo mein to go, but I will not be dining-in at that restaurant.

The best buffet Chinese I've ever had! At least in Louisiana. Not greasy, helpful service, and super cheap. Love it.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
