I can be quite particular when it comes to eating sushi, but I absolutely love this place (even over more popular and trendy sushi restaurants in the uptown/downtown areas). They give very generous portions and they actually have flavor. I'm a big fan of raw fish, and I always find their sashimi to always taste fresh. My favorite roll is the New Orleans roll (an assortment of fish wrapped with cucumber in a ponzu? sauce). Their baked mussels are different because they add snow crab into the mix. I usually order that and put it on top of special rolls which gives it more texture and orgasmic flavor. I also like their assortment of appetizers, such as the beef tataki, tuna tataki, squid steak, etc. I have never tried the hibachi, but it seems like it's a big hit since I constantly see patrons on the hibachi table. Staff is friendly too, I've only experienced one bad server who forgot about my table a couple of times. I have been eating there about once a month for the past 2 years and mostly have had great service. Ordering to-go is a breeze and they're super quick!

First of all the prices are too expensive. Secondly the size of the rolls arent realistoc their huge. I tried speaking japanese and using real japanese Terms and requesting types of sushi. I tried to have a conversation with the chef in english and i was given mean looks. i felt really uncomfy there. I had high hopes For this place but the food was huge and not sushi it fell apart when i went to pick it up and the samon and fish werent fresh tasted like it was thawed. I didnt try the hibachi. If they expect to serve customers they need to show hospitality and pretend they care. Ill never return because of service, price, freshness and not authentic. Avoid unless you like being treated wrongly and ignored!

the first time i came here i had the sushi it was good nothing mind blowing.i must order the wrong rolls like the bbq eel and snowcrab roll cuz they werent huge lol. the second time i came here i had the hibachi. i liked the hibachi alot cuz of the size of their scallops. i think the best thing about this restaurant is the music they play and the gong they use when the staff sings happy birthday.
(3)Mike J.
Great atmosphere and very good food. Even when busy they still are very fast.
(4)Daniela J.
food is good but too expensive and the service isn't that great, waiters act like its a funeral and are quite indifferent
(2)Jamie W.
The meal was a bit expensive but wonderful. Our Hibachi Chef, Cheng was very entertaining but a bit risque for my 14 year old!

Best sushi and sashimi in Greater New Orleans. I'm not a big hibachi fan in general, but this experience was fresh and delicious. I began with the spicy tuna salad. Exactly as the name states: fresh chunks of tasty tuna with mixed greens and a spicy ginger dressing. Light and delicious. I followed that with the super dragon roll, filet mignon roll and tuna sashimi. All fresh and outstanding. Great drinks, helpful staff, spacious room and great fresh food. A winner.
(4)Megan W.
The food was great (fresh and the menu had an excellent variety), the prices were very reasonable (completely average for any sushi restaurant) and the staff were extremely accommodating (they let us have thirteen separate checks). I would recommend Fuji Hana to anyone looking for lunch on the Westbank.

I have been ordering take out and dinning in several times for the past two years in this restaurant. Dinning in is usually up to par even though service is not all that (but food is good)! The last few times that I have ordered out (and Mimie) who usually takes my order over the phone and can see my order history, knows exactly what I ordered since usually order the same thing every time. But the last three times something has been wrong or missing, from forgetting to put the hibachi sauces in the bag, from giving me mushroom only as my vegetables and now tonight I ordered a salmon sushi and like always a NY trip and shrimp hibachi. I got a salmon roll and only one shrimp with the hibachi. And when I called back to complain, not even an apology but instead I was told they repeated the order to me so it was my fault. I was offered to come back and get shrimp and pay the difference (even thought I give a 10%tip on take out orders) because I believe when working in a service industry you deserve it even on take out orders. What has me pretty upset tonight is that I was not even offered for my next order a free order of shrimp and an order of salmon sushi. And maybe an apology for my disappointment. But nothing and the manager / owner did not care what so ever. I work for a hotel down town New Orleans and never would we treat our guest if they had a valid complaint and disappointment like this! We would try to make it better and turn it around to make sure they come back as the most important for a small or large business is a repeat customers! Good luck Fuji Hana ........you have lost me as a customer and apparently there is a great hibachi sushi restaurant on Manhattan that I will try next time.

We love this place. The poboy roll is delicious and my son loves the crawfish roll. . We eat here often!! We love the staff and the manager always comes by to check on us.

I was in the area shopping at Hong Kong market and was craving sushi. Stop by Fuji Hana to order take out. No time to dine in due the groceries in my car. Anyway I ordered 3 fresh salmon sushi and 1 rock n roll. Well over 20 dollars. Cashier told me it'll be around 20 mins wait but turns out to be well over 40 mins. For lunch that price I would expect a decent size. Turns out my salmon is as thin as paper and at room temperature. Rock n roll drench with eel sauce as if they're trying to cover up something. Overall, I was very unsatisfied. Low food quality, slow service, and overpriced. Won't be coming back.

Delicious food, excellent service! Entertaining & affordable! Cheng was our chef tonight, he was hilarious! We will definitely be returning for this authentic Hibachi experience. A+
(5)Whitney C.
Popular place, kind of a secret unless you go out alot. TERRIFIC hibachi meal size. You get soup, salad, entree, veggies, noodles, and either brown or fried rice. Great portion sizes sure to fill anyone up. Excellent sushi menu and drink specials also. My boyfriend and I go here quite often, as when you split something, the price is great. We usually get chicken and shrimp and it is a good size for us both.... go at lunch and get an even better deal! Can't beat a filling, delicious lunch for a great price!
(4)Adam B.
The food and service was good. The place was a little dark but the whole hibachi experience was worth it. The price was a little high but worth it to me. The place lacked appeal. I enjoyed it that's why I gave it a 4 star. I'll definitely be back. They really should get rid of the carpet though.
(4)Takeisha L.
Let's talk food. It's ok. Small portions for the price. I had the shrimp and scallop lunch deal, guess what! The scallop was bad and when I told the manager about it the only thing they did was tell me that he would like the chef know. They didn't take it off my bill at off. And maybe it me but I have never been to a RESTURANT that when they bring something to your table that u did not order by mistake. (Rice that i thought may have came with the meal) U ask if it come with the meal, they said no. They take it back. Most places would just leave it there

I always hear not-so-great things about Fuji Hana from my family, and good things about it from my friends. So you can probably see why I was torn between trying this restaurant. Then I went here for my boyfriend's birthday along with his family and I was impressed! There were many choices on the menu that I didn't know what to order. I settled with the salmon hibachi. It definitely came with enough food (fried rice, noodles, and veggies along with your choice of entrée). Prices were just a little high, but what hibachi restaurant isn't? Also, the food was just a bit too salty for my taste. Sushi here is pretty tasty! Honestly, Fuji isn't a bad place to go for dinner (when you don't feel like venturing onto the east bank). Just don't expect great service because the restaurants on the west bank have a lot of mixed reviews on service!
(3)Cody H.
This is a great place to bring children if your going to eat hibachi. The chefs put on a great show plus the food is excellent. You definitely get your money's worth at this place.
(4)Jerry M.
After reading some of the reviews on Yelp I had a bit of buyers remorse for my DoubleTakeOffer purchase. I found the fish to be fresh and the quality of the food over all was very good. I came for a late Friday diner but I suppose had I went on for Monday lunch the quality and freshness could have been different then my experience coming in when I did. It is a bit expensive, but guess you get what you pay for. But the Tropical roll was ridiculously pencil thin and perhaps too sweet. Our waitress was a very nice east Asian lady who was very helpful. Overall I would recommend this place, just be prepared to pay for the quality of the food.
(4)Jennifer B.
While I was super impressed with the Hibachi chef performance, I kind of expect that at *any* Hibachi place. Note that small children, particularly those under 2, may be terrified of the fire tricks. I thought mine would enjoy it... I was wrong. The adults were entertained, though! Fuji Hana isn't really anything incredibly special. They have Hibachi, Sushi, and a list of appetizers. However, it's in a nice location on the Westbank and the staff is exceptionally helpful/friendly. We didn't try the sushi, as I was in a Hibachi mood and the boyfriend suggested this place. Sushi may be warranted for an updated review in the future. I'm giving them 4 stars instead of an average 3 because they have a cute kids menu, where you can either get kids' Hibachi or a plated meal from the kitchen like chicken teriyaki. Definitely mother-approved, as I don't want my kid to eat chicken nuggets and fries at every restaurant. Her meal of sushi, teriyaki chicken, fried rice, and an orange was perfect, although was a LOT of food. We ended up taking at least half of it home with us. Also, like any Hibachi place, it's definitely pricey.
(3)Conella B.
Went here today for my son Birthday Celebration..Hibatchi cook was very entertaining food was good also tried sushi different but good..Enjoy
(4)Brooke J.
Fuji Hana is huge in the inside! I don't understand the sushi rolls. Usually most sushi places give you 6 in a roll but here you can only choose from 2 or 8. Maybe it's just me. My boyfriend and I both got hibachi and it was more than plenty of food. It was all good! I'd definitely come back.
(3)T N.
I decided to try Fuji Hana one day for lunch, it was a pleasant experience. I ordered hibachi and the food was just OK. I find it odd that their hibachi dishes do not come with rice (has to be ordered separately) but it does come with noodles (very small portion). I couldn't enjoy my salad because I didn't like the sauce. Also the sauces that accompanied my meal weren't the greatest either. Nothing amazing, but a nice reasonably price lunch choice. It was worth a try!

It wasn't my choice to dine here, but Fuji Hana was a very pleasant surprise. They bought over the old Ryans, so it is tremendously spacious on the inside. My brother was really dehydrated from cutting weight for his weigh in, our number priority was to get him something to eat asap. The waiter was VERY accommodating by skipping our drink orders and rushing a crunchy roll order for us. He kept an eye on the roll and we literally received our crunchy roll in like 3 minutes. I can't remember exactly what we ordered, because they picked this restaurant out at the spur of the moment. I'll list what I can remember. Crunchy Rolls - I won't comment on this since we had to order the easiest roll the chef could make. Im just laughing over the fact that Crunchy rolls was what got me addicted to sushi when I first started hehehe. Beef Tataki - the visual presentation was different then most places. I thought it looked sort of weird, but it was really tasty. Baked Mussels - I know mussels are generally pretty rich, but it was extra rich here. A little too much for my taste. We also ordered a dish that came with an assortment of raw fishes. All of the raw fish tasted really fresh. We ordered about 3 rolls and I'll be honest, I can't remember what 2 of the rolls were, but you've GOT to try their Filet Mignon Rolls! Im usually not a fan of beef on my sushi, but this roll really blew me away.
(4)Jim M.
Excellent food, decor, and service. entering the restaurant I was greeted and seated immediately after looking around I noticed how huge this restaurant is. Multiple tables, multiple hibachis, and 2 bars. The hibachi cook was amazing he performed many tricks and the food was cooked to perfection. Portions are huge. I would go here again anytime.
(5)Bill M.
Time and again nothing better than this hibachi when craving the yum yum The fried rice is a must with the hibachi Shrimp is outstanding Japanese egg rolls are the best appetizer All in all everything I've ever tried has been great Quite a few items have shined compared to nationwide places and restaurants Filet shrimp fried rice egg rolls yum yum and mai tais are the norm and always delicious

Fuji Hana has pretty good sushi, but what won me over was the service that I received. For years this location was a Ryan's Steakhouse. If you've never been to a Ryan's, you should consider yourself lucky. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that such an awful place could be transformed into a good restaurant, but Fuji Hana proved me wrong. Their sushi offerings are pretty standard when compared to other local restaurants. They did have a very large menu of special rolls, including pictures. The problem with such a large selection is that it takes forever to decide. After a thorough decision making process, two specialty rolls were ordered and promptly delivered. Because the menu was so vast, I cannot remember the exact name of the rolls that were ordered. I can report that both were well made, using very fresh ingredients. I realize this doesn't help you pick particular rolls, but from what I saw, all of the rolls their chefs made looked equally as good. As for the service, it was excellent. The server, Robin, was one of the friendliest servers I have ever had. He seemed to genuinely enjoy what he was doing, and had a friendliness that brightened my day. It isn't often that a server can do that, so it bears mentioning. I doubt this will become a regular sushi place for me because it is somewhat out of my regular stomping grounds, but if you're in the area, I encourage you to check it out.
(4)Jennyfur T.
I thought it was over priced and everything tastes exactly alike. From the noodles, steak, and shrimp. Weird but they all tasted like the same thing. I also felt like I was being kicked out they brought the check out while I was still eating. Bad service. Okay food. Terrible price.

I've been to my fair share of the popular hibachi restaurants in the New Orleans area, and I have to say that this one ranks as one of the best. Since most hibachi places use the same ingredients, this place rises above due to the consistency and the entertainment value of the chiefs. The restaurant is pretty large and open for a Japanese restaurant. The ambiance is very nice. The wait staff and hibachi chef were very personable and interactive. However, if there is one weak spot, it is that there is one hibachi chef that I'd subpar to the others. So far, I've only gotten him once. The sushi is good, but very expensive. Your best bet is to catch the lunch hibachi specials. Otherwise, you're going to pay a lot more money for sodium overload.
(5)Julie V.
Sushi isn't bad! It's a little overpriced. Every time I get Togo they always forget my miso soup with my lunch/dinner special so make sure you check.
(3)Andrea F.
Oh. My. Goodness. The strawberry daiquiri was good, not too strong, but you know that it is alcoholic. One friend had sake, another pina colada, another pink lemonade. We all had different versions of hibachi. If you don't have enough people in your party during the peak time to fill all the seats around the grill, you will have others sitting with you. The hibachi chef does put on a good performance while cooking your food and is very entertaining to watch, and he involves all of the diners around the grill. I had the tuna and scallop hibachi, one friend had lobster and steak, another friend tuna and shrimp, another friend chicken and steak. The chef was flawless. The other people seated at our grill seemed to be quite unhappy with the performance, but things happen. My food was great, and the leftovers reheated this morning (the day after) very nicely. I definitely look forward to coming back!
(4)Jess C.
We enjoyed the sushi. We had the Cajun Roll as an appetizer while we decided what was for lunch. It was very good. Large size for the $10 price. Excellent with a side of yum yum sauce from the hibachi. Since we had a large day planned we are lite. I had the sushi appetizer which was fresh and excellent quality. My boyfriend had the filet mignon roll. It had twice as much meat as daiwa's does but was $4.50 more. So I guess it evened out. I'd recommend trying this place out. We will be back. The atmosphere is very nice.
(4)Vuong N.
Food is amazing, service was exceptional! We ordered several rolls (Filet Mignon roll, Crispy roll, etc..) with appetizers and drinks. Don't forget the Sake!
(5)Kameron B.
Omggg, by far my favorite hibachi place! I crave eating here 24/7 I usually get the chicken and steak hibachi, the salad and soup that comes with is so delicious..all the chefs are great, it's a wonderful family experience ((:
(5)Chad G.
I was pleasantly surprised. This place earned every bit of the 4 stars I gave it. Eight of us took a leap of faith and gave it a shot. I was not expecting much given it's location in what I consider the "middle of nowhere". It's very big and modern on the inside. It boasts several Hibachi grills so you can expect to get "courtside" seating even if they are busy. Lucky for us the place was wide open during the lunch hour so seating was fast as was the service. Our chef put on a great performance and food was cooked nicely. The lunch menu had hibachi specials around the $10 range. I thought about giving 5 stars, but aside from being a nice venue, nothing stood out that said this place is so much better than other Hibachi steakhouses. I'll definitely go back.
(4)Bracie M.
This is truly my favorite go to place for dinner!! I love the food and service isn't too bad, maybe one or two employees is change.. But other than that ... Amazing
(5)Nikkie N.
Never had the hibachi so this is solely table service sushi and kitchen food review. I love sushi and I mean any type of sushi. I don't discriminate between rolls to sashimi. Put it in front of me and I will eat. So, for a place on the westbank it's decent and helps subside a craving. Their prices are reasonable. I haven't had anything that wowed me and that is so bias because I've had amazing sushi at top notch restaurants. as far as kitchen food, I've only had fried rice and this isn't a fair opinion either.. Because it was meh. I mean, you can't really judge a sushi restaurant based on fried rice right? I like that they have a picture menu so it's easy to order. Three stars for decent food and reasonable prices.
(3)Allison D.
They're pretty good for the lunch specials - Bento box including fried rice, California roll, a dumpling, and your choice of entree you want on the list - all for less than $10. But that's where the cutoff is for this place. I had the tropical roll, and it wasn't bad, just wasn't that great either. Also, for $15, I could definitely find something else more satisfying. I've had the hibachi here in the past, and that wasn't too great either. Just average, as most other hibachi places are. So unless you want their Bento Box for lunch, I wouldn't really consider going there for much else.
(3)Erin F.
I haven't gotten to try the hibachi yet, but the sushi was great. The only problem I have is that they're overpriced. It's a great family place, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone, just come prepared with a few extra bills in your wallet. :)
(4)Wassem S.
Our family's go to restaurant for hibachi. The kids love it. A little pricey but you get a lot of food. We usually order hibachi and it's always consistently good. We come here at least once a month and never leave disappointed.
(5)Elizabeth C.
I dream of... banana tempura with vanilla ice cream! No really, my last review and first tasting of my dream dessert was July 7th. It's now July 20th and I've had it TWICE since then! I'm not big on dessert, but I can't get enough! Easily split between myself and my boyfriend, but I already have plans to feast on one all my own when my birthday rolls around in February. The bananas and strawberries cancel out the fried part of the banana and all the ice cream right?! No? Fine, I'll do crazy exercises to burn the calories. ANYTHING! I NEED this! It's just... so... good! Give me delicious. Please?! I made my boyfriend take me here for dessert, and insisted on dinner here tonight for the end dessert. I'm not big on raw fish, but the hibachi is fantastic. Lots of OOHs and AHHs when the chefs begin to work their magic. I had a mai tai tonight that was really well made - not overly sweet like I expected, but a perfect mix of sweet and tang. Fantastic. Fuji Hana rivals Mikimoto's. Never thought anyone would even come close! Huge plus for me is that they're on my side of the river!
(5)Maria E.
Great environment to have small group dinners. Kids will enjoy this place because the cooks are very entertaining (if u do habachi). Place is super clean and friendly. They do sing happy birthday and give a small cube complimentary cake.
(4)Ellen L.
Do NOT get takeout! Been coming here for a couple years and food has been decent. Even found a couple special rolls I really liked. But First time I ordered take out I got a crunch dynamite roll, and It was all fake crabmeat, no fish at all. I thought maybe it was a mistake, but had suspicions they were skimping on takeout to save a little money figuring once you get home you won't bother. Next I ordered a lunch entree and when I picked it up there was no soup or salad. Discovered that in tiny print at the bottom of the menu they don't give you soup or salad with take out entree orders even though the price is the same. Whatever, that's just cheap. I was really craving sushi tonight and gave them one last chance. Never again. I ordered two of my favorite special rolls, New Orleans and Tropical. Normally the New Orleans is mostly tuna, salmon and yellowtail with a little crab meat. Tonight it was almost all crab with a few little pieces of fish. I pointed this out and even explained that I had been disappointed before with how the take out rolls are different from those you get when you dine in. The very nice hostess brought my roll to the chef who slapped a few small pieces of fish on top. When I got home I found the fish did not smell or taste right. I called to let them know, to which the chef replied that if I got sick I could bring a doctor's note for a refund. No joke. Done with this place
(1)Jeanne H.
Pretty great. I appreciate they have pictures of each sushi roll in the menu.
(4)Audrey H.
I've eaten here a few times, no complaints. It's standard west bank sushi stuff, which I like just fine. However, this time our waitress straight up FORGOT about us. We were there for probably 45 minutes just waiting to get a box. We had to ask two different servers for our check. Finally our actual waitress brought us the check, but there was zero acknowledgement of how we were so ignored by her. We assumed she was about to get off and was just busy doing any things, but that does NOT make it ok. I was not as bothered by this as my friends, and maybe three stars is a little generous. It's a clean restaurant and the sushi isn't bad.
(3)Gerald H.
The food was A-OK. The California roll was pretty stale. We opted for the hibachi and the best part of the show...until the chef picked up a bottle mimicking someone peeing and started squirting water at everyone around the table. The ladies felt awkward. The flipping of the egg shells on fire into the hat was pretty cool. The sushi selection was less than par and the price was pretty high. It's a place you visit once given all the other options in NOLA.
(3)Tammy B.
Not often that I am able to say this--but the meal and service were awesome (and restaurant was bustling) Pleasant surprise nowadays. Keep it up guys! (We didn't do Sushi for record so can't speak for that)
(5)Amanda B.
First time at a hibachi bar, so I thought it was really strange to be having dinner at the same table with a bunch of other people we don't know! But I guess it's part of the experience! Food was great, (filet mignon & shrimp) although I wasn't crazy about the sauce on the seafood; my husband had the steak/shrimp/lobster combo & he enjoyed it. I could make a meal off the noodles and rice alone! Clear soup was ok, and didn't touch the salad :/ loved the hot towels they gave us to clean our hands! We'll be back I'm sure. Prices were kinda high, and to me the carpet made the place feel unclean. I'd also watch out if you're highly allergic to seafood at the hibachi table because the cook did not clean his spatula after serving seafood; then served veggies to a supposedly allergic customer but he seemed fine! Lol!
(4)Pam T.
Went there for Valentine's day. Just okay sushi nothing Impressed me yet. Our waiter was very attentive. Plenty of parkings
(3)Sum B.
Stopped by here to get a Philly roll and a crawfish roll. Both were pretty good and I'd order them again. Next time, I'm definitely trying the hibachi!
(4)Tiffany S.
Don't waste your money! Better places to eat with better quality food!
(1)Rhonda H.
I love this place! It's one of the best and largest Hibachi Steakhouse grills in New Orleans. Chefs are always hilarious and the seafood is excellent!
(5)Jeremy H.
Fiji Hana hibachi. I have been here a few times. The service is always very friendly. We took my parents for their first foray into hibachi. They loved the food and the "show." Typical hibachi moves like the onion volcano, onion train, fire, egg juggling, and more fire. The hibachi rice could use more flavor but add the mixed veggies in with it and it is vastly improved. You'll leave fat and happy, even if you miss catching the rice in your mouth.
(4)Marielle S.
I really like that the Westbank has some good sushi choices: Tennou, Daiwa and I can now add Fuji Hana to the list. The atmosphere of this place is a little "fancier" than a typical sushi place and this restaurant is extra cool because it also has a hibachi. I didn't get the hibachi, but from what I could tell, they put on quite the show and I think that I'm going to check it out next time. All I got when I was here was the Philly roll and the tuna roll and both were really good. I was going to get sashimi, but it's only 3 pieces for a $6 order and I honestly didn't think that it was really worth it. They did have an extensive list of special rolls to try, and they were the same price as a special roll that you would get at any other place. The waitress was really attentive, friendly and helpful and even boxed my leftovers for me when I was ready to pay. While I probably wouldn't make Fuji Hana my "go to" for Westbank sushi, it is definitely a place worth checking out.
(4)Tim O.
Having just relocated back to New Orleans, I needed to find the best sushi place around and it is Fuji Hana. The quality and variety of sushi is excellent. The service is quick and professional and location is convenient.
