Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

My family and I love Randazzo's. It's an adorable family owned local business. The owners, Kyla and Antonio; are there just about every day. He is usually in the kitchen and Kyla is usually serving the tables. They are both dedicated to providing the best experience possible. Kyla is personable and makes an effort to speak to every guest. And the food is AMAZING. I always get the chicken parm and my husband always gets a muffaletto. They also make a great lasagna and homemade bread pudding. They have daily lunch specials; too. You should really give them a try!

Met the "Uno Gang" here for my sweetheart's Birthday. They didn't have regular room for the eight of us, so on Friday I reserved the back room for us. Growing up here in town and working for the Fire Dept, as well, I know history of many parts of this town and this location is one. The building is an old house, in a quant residential part of town, which the owners changed the floor plans of to accommodate the market and restaurant. The parking is adequate for the patronage. The owners - their story is on the inside of the menu. She is from the U.S. and her husband is from Italy. He did not speak English and she didn't speak Italian. The food - we ordered the bread tray, Bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. Everything was AWESOME!! For entrees, I had the Three Cheese Ravioli and my wife had the lasagna. Both were absolutely awesome. The Ravioli had a cheese in it that gave it a smokey taste. One of the dipping sauces was a tomato based and it had a different but familiar taste as did the dip for the olive based dip for the bread. The cost is about average, $8 -$15. It is TRULY AUTHENTIC ITALIAN!! The service wasn't that great, we had to go find someone on several occasions for refills. But, all in all it was a great experience, awesome food. Go give it a try!!

Best authentic Italian around. Excellent, friendly service. Highly recommended. Spaghetti and meatballs are great, bread pudding is some of the best I have ever eaten. Lasagna is also a great choice. Would have dinner here again in the near future when in Denham Springs.

Food was delicious, just like home cooking. We had a 12 person group, and everything went smoothly. Staff was friendly, environment was clean, a food was fresh. I had the Thursday lunch special which was the lasagna, and have no complaints. Everyone in the group was satisfied with their entrees. Definitely a place worth visiting again.

Although it's off the beaten path, this place is pretty sweet! As I searched for a new lunch spot near my office I came across this spot. It is small, quaint, and quiet. The quality of the food was just a bonus. The food was fresh and well seasoned. I could tell that it was made with great intentions! I will most definitely visit this spot several more times!

Just a note: Many people say this place is out of the way. But in reality it is only 2or 3 minutes off of the main road.

Read about this place in Country Roads on the way to Baton Rouge and decided to stop there for dinner. What a find! It's billed as a market, and it is, but it resides in a cozy little house with the market/kitchen in back and the sit down casual restaurant in the front room. Location is a little unlikely and out of the way, but well worth it. Bruschetta was amazing with flavorful fresh tomatoes on homemade ciabatta. The caprese salad had the same fresh tomatoes--husband said you can taste the sunshine in them--and fresh mozzarella slices on fresh Spring salad mix-oh so good! Their pasta is also homemade and the red sauce is light and fresh. I had the daily special, spaghetti with meatballs, for $6.99! (The special rotates each day between 3 different pasta dishes.) The two huge meatballs were made of finely minced meat, spices and perhaps also cheese. My husband chose the three cheese ravioli. You may choose the red sauce with or without meat for the ravioli. They also make other types, as well, one with Italian ham and cheese and another with spinach and meat, I believe. Our entrees were deeply satisfying. I should also mention that the staff was very friendly and helpful with making selections. The deli had a selection of meat, cheeses, and prepared pasta dishes to take home. There was pizza on the menu that I really want to try and there is a number of sandwiches, including a muffaletta. We only wish this restaurant/market was closer to our home.

Great family owned Italian restaurant. Friendly service and great food. Have not gotten anything that was not good. Large servings for the price that you pay.

For Denham Springs I think this is a place a cut above the rest. The pasta and sauce and wines are good. The place is cute and service good as other reviewers have mentioned. However, they need to look at the portion sizes and the quality of food they are giving the customers. There is almost no meat in the lasagna. There are only two not very large meatballs with the spaghetti. I could let it slide when the prices were cheaper upon their first opening. Now that the prices have come up (although still reasonable they've come up quite a lot) I would like them to put a little more oomph and heft into the food. I can only go at night so am not referring to the lunch specials.

This restaurant is located in a charming little house. It's family owned and operated. The owners interact with customers and make them feel like they are part of the family. Everything is made fresh: pasta, bread, etc. (nothing comes from a box) If you want to experience REAL Italian food, this is the place. The portions are smaller (actually just what you need to feel full and not feel overstuffed). They do this so you can order salad, bread, entree and possibly dessert. You won't take home leftovers but you won't go home hungry either. This was our first time eating here and we were blown away. One thing I thought was neat is that they also offer "take and bake" (at reasonable prices) so that you can pick up a meal and take it home and bake it. They have daily specials and prices are very reasonable for what you get. If you are looking for a quaint and unique experience, check them out! We will definitely be going back!!
