Frosto is an institution in my little hometown, We had lunch there today, Great burgers, fresh fries, killer milkshakes. And, Lola & Pete have kept those great old 1950's rock & roll songs going. Don't you dare miss FROSTO ! Rick

After a really rough night in New Orleans and making very little progress on our Atlanta to Los Angeles road trip, we wound up at Frosto's. After a night and morning of puking out my intestines, Frosto's gave me that homey old time comfort feel I so desperately craved. There's nothing like a 50's diner and a cardboard Elvis to drag you out of your downward spiral post New Orleans. Frosto's was great. The décor was typical 1950's. Or at least what I assume was 1950's. After all I wasn't there and if you really think about it, what if in 65 years someone had a 2010's diner, what the hell would that even look like? How can you sum up a whole period of time with one design theme? I don't know, but I like it here in second hand 1950 and it served as the perfect spot to nurse my stomach bile. We ordered milkshakes and listened to Elvis and the Beach Boys and enjoyed the photos of all the old greats on the walls and tables. The diner was very clean and the staff was very friendly. It's a few miles off the main highway, so you wouldn't just get off the exit to gas up and take a pee and see this diner. You have to know it's here and drive a bit through town to get there, but it's worth the detour. I ordered the catfish platter, which came with 3 HUGE pieces of fried catfish, fries, a salad and a biscuit. Yeah hold the salad, it's like ordering a diet coke with 10 Big Macs. Everything was great. My husband ordered a burger and fries and was very pleased. I thank Frosto's for taking in my sick, disheveled corpse and reviving to it's prior glee.

Service was a little in the slow department but the food was phenomenal. I had the 1/2 club poboy and my fiancé had the whole fried shrimp poboy. The fries were a large portion and we could have split a small. Would definitely eat here again. For 2 poboys, 2 small fries and 2 drinks which are all separate was about $25.

My boyfriend and I saw this place from the road while enjoying a scenic ride on Hwy 90. The huge milk shake on the roof made us stop. This place is a classic 50's diner that plays classic 50's music. Being on a diet, I very reluctantly forced myself to dispose of the delicious milk shake I had ordered. Great food! Great ambience! Definitely stop by if you are in the area.

Had the Cajun Burger, added cheese. Probably devoured it within a minute. It was small, but really good. Fries were good, nothing special. Not sure why everyone's complaining about prices, my combo was under $7.00, which isn't out of line for a burger joint. Maybe the shakes are expensive?

Don't be mislead by the unassuming exterior of this 50's diner. It's pretty neat inside, but the best bit is... the food! I had the catfish poboy, which was so fresh. Best fish sammich in years! The bread was classic LA poboy yummy, as was my husband's poboy, with freshly caught shrimp. Our son had a fried chicken wrap, that he thoroughly enjoyed. It might be a couple of miles off the beaten path, off I10 on a road trip, but worth it. We plan to make this a regular stop on our travels. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner. Super lady who has obviously worked hard, and takes pride in her establishment. Good job!

Frosto Diner. What can I say? Cool atmosphere, great food and a super friendly staff. It's clean, easy to get to, the food is great and did I mention that the food is great? Ok...if I haven't mentioned anything about the food being great, let me suggest the bacon cheeseburger. The sweet little gal at the counter assured me that Frosto Diner is known, and people come from all over, for their bacon cheeseburger. I can honestly say that it was one helluva good burger. I would, and WILL, make the drive to go back to Frosto just to get another one. I highly recommend this little place. It's great diner food and it's a fun place to go and just visit. It's been there since the '50's, so if you're in Southern Louisiana, you're into cool Americana and you like a great cheeseburger (or any other delicious road food- they have a pretty extensive menu)...you have to stop in and check them out.

We found this place on yelp as we were driving home to Austin Texas!!! It's off the beaten path but the shakes, Cajun burger and onion rings are well worth it!!! The prices were $5 burgers and $3.50 shakes! The onion rings were handmade- "thin" rings that were the best!!

Service was great. I had the catfish poboy and it was alright. My friend had a burger and really enjoyed it. The tots were fried to perfection. The real star of this place is obviously the ice cream but the food prices are good for the quality. It's a fun place too. Hope in for a burger and fries finished with a malt - worth it.

Awesome food and all cooked fresh. This is fast food the way it used to be. No microwaves or old hamburgers. The best hamburger ever and lots of healthy choices as well. The new renovation made it even better. Now they have a sit down area and handcapped bathrooms. No wonder they have been around for more than 50 years. Awesome diner.

This place has, in my opinion, the very best hamburgers in the world. The double-meat burger -- get as they make it, with onions. Unless tomatoes are in season remove them. If in season keep them. The other food at Frosto is quite good but the hamburgers are amazing. This family-run place has been in business since the early 1950s. Except for a name change from a Zesto franchise it is the same. They prepare their food from scratch.

This place is a diner, make no mistake of what you're getting into. Malt Shop Oldies music, music-themed dining area, burgers, and ice cream. They employ young girls in the front of house. For many, it's their first jobs, so keep that in mind. They're almost always smiling. The food is fantastic, greasy goodness. It's a burger joint. If a little grease soaking into the brown bag bothers you, this is not the restaurant for you. If you don't mind a nice greasy burger and fries every now and again, then this is one of the bests. In fact, if you're familiar with the term "hangover food," then make this a stop. Now, I will say the quality of the food has become better throughout the years. And, they actually use low fat ice cream. I'm a burger enthusiast and Frosto has my favorite burger, hands down. It's a diner burger. They're on the smaller side, but you can add more stacks of beef if you want. Just one is fine for me most of the time. Toasted buns, thin patty, very juicy, and they'll put whatever you want on it. For local comparison, think Judice Inn (Lafayette, LA). Recommendations: 1) Cajun-Style Cheeseburger w/ Bacon I suggest getting everything on it. Cajun-seasoned patty, which heats the mayo thin. The seasoning distributes into the mayo. The bacon is crisp. The cheese is American, the perfect compliment to the burger. The pickles and tomato add to the patty and thin mayo to perform a dripping, juice explosion. And, the shredded mayo and toasted bun actually do a swell job of keeping the juice maintained and not letting the burger get too messy. You'll want to keep eating long after you're full. 2) Pulled/BBQ Pork Poboy Get the Onion Rings as a side. I don't particularly care for them alone because they're a thin, limp, stringy mess. However, something magical happens when you lay those fried things inside of your poboy. It adds a wonderful, textured crunch to the meat and the onion flavor is a great compliment to the BBQ Sauce. Frosto is a fat kid's dream and a health nut's nightmare. It's an American Diner and it's perfect. P.S. - Year 'round Snowballs!

The reason this place gets even 2 stars is for their ice cream. The food is absolutely horrid, and the people are extremely rude. The only food served here is BAD FOR YOU. In fact, everything they sell is bad for you. ~enjoy your heartburn.

Waitstaff could be a tad friendlier. We were just driving thru and saw the sign. Food was good though.

Fun atmosphere. Ok food. Service was terrible. I have food allergies and the staff seemed extremely inconvenienced when I asked about the ingredients in what I ordered. Definitely not the place for someone watching their weight or grease intake. Very unhealthy. Slow... took over 30 minutes for our order (most of which wasn't really cooked like salads) and we were the only ones in the joint when we first walked in. But the nostalgia is fun... especially if all you are looking for is a burger and fries sorta place.

I give it two stars only for the burger. The onion rings had more grease than onion or batter. The service was horrible. It took over 30 minutes to get a burger and onion rings. Make sure you have lots of time if you eat here. I won't be going back anytime soon.
