It's deceiving from the outside. It is attached to a motel, so that can easily make a person dismiss the place. Once you walk in, those preconceived notions subside. It was clean and visually appealing, the service was good, and most importantly, the food was amazingly good. I had the half and half crawfish platter (grilled crawfish and crawfish etouffee). The wife had grilled samon. Both tasted amazing. We actually purchased some of their seasoning on the way out in hopes to replicate that taste at home.

I can hardly believe that this was my first visit here with as many times as I've passed through Crowley going to Eunice. Shame on me! We stopped on the suggestion of my cousin while we were on the way to lunch at same old everyday "Chili's", and my aunt asked for something a bit more authentic. Well we found it. The entire place feels super comfortable to me and the staff is welcoming and sweet. We had a little trouble deciding what to order cause everything looked so good...and I get a little greedy. There were six of us so some got apps or desserts and shared. I ordered the seafood combo, I think it was called, half crawfish etouffee and half fried catfish. Came with a salad, which was basic, and a roll that was hot and soft. The crawfish was tasty and the rice seemed like they actually cooked a real pot of rice in the kitchen, not that par-boiled rice most restaurants use. Now the fried catfish, that was some of the best I've ever had! It was well seasoned and fried to a golden brown. Everyone tried to clean their plates and even when I passed the point of full, I still kept going. I also didn't turn away a little bit of my aunt's bread pudding and it hit the spot to finish off the meal. I've already planned the meal for my next visit and hope to leave just stuffed and ready for a nap, as I did this time!!

Now this is the REAL Fezzos... the old school feel to the building makes me feel right at home here in Crowley Lo-U-siana. The fried oyster poboy was done just right and my bowl of gumbo was roux-ed and spiced perfectly. They have a newer location down the road a bit... it just doesn't have the same charm and good food... and the prices are higher, if I remember correctly. BOTTOM LINE: The better of the Fezzo's... great fried seafood, great gumbo.
Stopped in as a last resort. I am appalled by the 4 and 5 star reviews. Google has more realistic reviews. These people have one star taste in food. OBVIOUSLY. I ordered angel hair pasta with crawfish and alredo sauce. Babe ordered etouffee. My dish was extremely greasy, and the alfredo sauce was alfredo gravy. Not just any gravy, but sat overnight-grew skin- gravy. Not amazing and with the 4 tablespoons of excess oil.....the angel hair was prepared perfectly, the crawfish was almost fried but ok. The seasoning didn't quite compliment the fish. The etouffee was altogether a sick sad mess. Roux-gone-wrong. Overcooked rice slop, with a flour water oil mixture and frozen shrimp tossed inside. They actually told us the sauce is "prepared in the morning " but I am guessing that means poured from a sack. Not worth a go. If you are in this area, bring a sandwich. 2 stars because i like crawfish

Best gumbo ever! Just like mine, and great potato salad as well! This location is so much better than the Scott location. Friendly and helpful staff here. We love it!

My wife and I stopped in on our way to Houston from Baton Rouge. Had heard about it on the popular Walton and Johnson radio show. We are always looking for local places when we travel....and we are glad we finally made it to Fezzo's. This is the original location, nothing fancy, just real nice staff and really good food. We split the fried catfish dinner as we were trying to keep from traveling with full stomachs, but it was plenty of food for the two of us. The catfish was absolutely the best I have ever had. The fish was flaky and served piping hot. It was accompanied by a stuffed potato...large, perfectly seasoned and delicious. The only thing pedestrian about the meal was the salad, but who cares anyway. Our appetizer, the cajun stuffed mushrooms were tasty, but not something that would bring me back, but the catfish will! We are looking forward to stopping again either on our way back or on our next trip to Houston.

Driven past the billboard on I-10 thousands of time and decided today to try Fezzo's. Immediately I was shaken by the location, the front entrance of a motel. I've eaten enough meals in Acadiana not to judge a book by its cover, so being alone and having no one else's happiness to worry about, I parked. The second thing I noticed was that I was not alone, the lot full of pickup trucks. Good sign. Greeted by two smiling women, I was seated in the large, clean, if not well decorated doing room with a view of the motel. I ordered oysters and shrimp, both fried, with a side of red beans. It came with a side salad which I was committed to eat for dietary reasons. My only complaint with the food was the salad. If you were at home you would have thrown away that head of lettuce. The good news is that the oysters came so fast that I only had to stare at the salad for about 3 minutes. This wouldn't be a good thing if you're looking for a dining experience, but this is a weekday lunch...lots of working people. The better news is that everything but the salad was excellent. Big surprise was the two hot rolls served on the plate. In the pic you can see that I took a bite before I took the pic. Great food. Fast and very friendly service. Never order a salad in Louisiana.

Had seafood gumbo and alligator sausage for the first time! The alligator meat was chewy, and I actually liked it! Good service and nice environment in the restaurant, right by highway I-10. I'd go back again if I am ever in that area!! Great place to stop by for some Cajun food and relax a bit.

I ate here tonight, in my home town. Second or third time here, and 3 or 4 times at their Scott location. The food is good, sometimes very good. Location and ambiance are fine, too. Try their specialties, especially the crawfish dishes. Both have plenty parking, nice décor, full bars, and good management. Better food than any fake "Cajun" pace on New Orleans ! This, Chere, is the REAL DEAL ! Rick
