Diabetics at Pizza Hut
Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.
Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:
You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.
Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I love this place. It's always good and food is always fresh. You can make things your way which works for me because I'm such a picky eater. Would recommend this to anyone!

Waited 30 minutes in line (not even during prime time hours!). A burrito here is double the price compared to westcoast burrito places. Everyone locally seems to tolerate the wait and inefficiency of this establishment because there isn't a second choice other than Taco Bell. Which, I will choose over this Izzo's location in a heartbeat.
(2)Lindsay M.
Ummmm 5 stars all the way! MY boyfriend and I are obsessed with this place. We live in Slidell and make the drive. Ridiculous right? NO. We love, love, love their burritos! We always add the queso cheese on it! We eat 1/2 and always have 1/2 for later. We get the medium size one! It is similar to a chipotle with the way you tell them what you want... but way more of a selection & way better! We crave it all the time. YUM!
(5)Jesse K.
I'm a weekly regular here, when comparing prices it is hard to beat the fresh delicious food at Izzo's. Yes there are some gaps in the training and standards upheld between shifts and different employees and is the only thing I think could be refined.
(5)Stephanie A.
Not impressed, the food is disgusting and the staff are all teens. Never going back. I rather drive to Metairie 45 minutes away to chipotle. My steak had a burnt taste to it and the sauce tastes like water.
(1)Emily D.
I wasn't very impressed. We are from out of town and my husband and I are Chipotle people. I also like willy's. This was more of a Moe's type burrito place... If you like Moe's, you'll like Izzo's.
(2)Darren D.
Gave it another shot this evening and the food quality is the same if not even lower in quality. Again, all the meats were dry, the rice was overcooked and clumpy. This time my wrap was a bit stale and stiff. Chipotle and Felipes are FAR better.
(1)J B.
A few points: 1) the food quality is random. sometimes the lettuce looks fine and other times it looks like it's a week old. also, because of the low turnover of food, the meats get overly dry and are not good. 2) the throughput is slow. if there are more than 6 people in front of you, you won't eat for 15 minutes. it is an operations screwup. 3) cannot wait until a Chipotle opens up - Izzo's is ok but Chipotle is fantastic.
(2)Gretchen J.
First and last time visiting Izzo's. It is as if they are trying to take Moe's hint of chutzpah to a new level, but go way overboard with almost total absence of service and slovenliness. This is a very poorly managed operation. Had to wait for someone to decide to help me, place was filthy looking and shouldn't have passed a health code inspection. The only reason it didn't look worse was because the restaurant looked fairly new, so maybe the grunge hasn't really built up yet. So let's go through the list: food slopped all over counters & floors, dried out food (mixed with other food) clearly sitting out too long, dried out wraps, dirty soda fountain with no ice (guarantee hasn't been cleaned, maybe ever), drinks spilled and dried all over floor, dirty bathrooms with no paper towels (not cleaned or serviced). This was a Sunday at 3. The place was dead, so no excuse to be that poorly kept. Good luck Izzo's. I already had a dirty college roommates experience and don't need to recreate.

This place is, just, so good. I Went for my first time last night, with a friend, we both got the smallest size of burrito. We put a ton of stuff on it, and it was HUGE. Do NOT get a bigger burrito if you are a normal person. It is a LOT bigger than it looks in the picture, and it wasn't very expensive, and it was REALLY good! I think it is better than chipotle, and It was only $18 for both of us and we both got a normal burrito with chips, salsa, and a medium drink. I really enjoyed it, and I will DEFINITELY go over chipotle, it's much cheaper and in my opinion, better for you and for your taste buds, and for that, I give it five stars.
(5)Mai T.
Love this place when craving for a burrito. I've tried chipotle and this place tastes better. Only complaint is that sometimes the meat/chicken(not ground beef) can be dry since they over cooked it and also the rice isn't fully cooked. I've ordered and brought it home and the rice was undercooked twice already.

Izzo's just opened on August 12. We went for lunch and there was an enormous amount of staff behind the counter. My assumption is that many are still training. Because they are so new the staff seemed unsure of what was going on. Even thought thy may have been new, they were friendly and helpful. Izzo's is set up like a subway or quiznos except Mexican. You order a burrito in one of three sizes: regular misdemeanor, super felony or illegal. There are four different types of tortilla: wheat, spinach, cayenne or flour. Being the criminal mastermind I am, I opted for the illegal with steak. This thing is freakin huge. You have an enormous amount of options as far as toppings go. Everything from meats, cheese, vegetables, rice, beans and sauce. My guess is that my finished burrito weighed 3 pounds. There is no way I could eat more than half. I will be eating the rest for dinner and probably breakfast tomorrow. It was expensive ($15.39) but there is really no reason to get one this big. The size chart on the wall does not do it justice. We also got shrimp tacos. The tacos were loaded with shrimp and I was told they were very good. Once you get your food, there is a bar with four different sauces. The choices include green and red salsa, izzo's ( another red salsa) and illegal sauce. Illegal sauce is a thin red sauce that is very hot. The restaurant has several tables and was very comfortable. I will be back.
(3)Heather P.
Yes it's very similar to a Chipolte. From the walk through line, the decor, it all is pretty much the same. One thing for sure is to be said, you will not leave feeling hungry. There is a size burrito for all and even ordering the smallest burrito they have I still only ate half of it and carried the rest home. Just a suggestion, unless you are super hungry, just skip the meal deal. The burrito alone will fill you up. There are 3 sizes on burritos. Misdemeanor for $5.99, the Super Felony for $7.59 and then the Illegal (which is flippen huge) for $14.99. Just your baseline burrito comes with rice, beans, cheese and your choice of toppings. Want meat? Chicken and ground beef is .49 extra, Pork Carnitas is .69 extra, Steak .89 extra, Shrimp 1.89 extra and then the surf & turf for 1.99 extra. When checking out I thought, dang that was a bit pricey but then when I was able to enjoy my burrito for not only lunch but also dinner it didn't seem as if it really cost all that much. Will this become one of my go to spots weekly? More then likely not but I will for sure head back.
(3)Kari C.
Acceptable substitute for Chipotle which I miss. I usually get a bowl instead of burrito and the carnitas is the best bet. Since I don't add sour cream or guacamole, I don't find it as expensive as some of the other reviewers. It's quick, tasty and better for you than the crap that Taco Bell calls food.
(4)Carol W.
I liked this place I got the smallest size burrito and I couldn't finish it bc I was full. The staff was young but decent. The selection was good (onions, bean, corn, and different cheese. The chicken was seasoned and my husband steak burrito was well seasoned also....
(4)Perrey L.
I can't say enough good things about Izzos. I go to the Metairie store very often, and I was super glad to see that Covington had a new location. This location was nice and quiet and the service was phenomenal.
(4)Matt J.
The first thing I do when i move to a new area is find a solid mexican spot. i went to a few places around the north shore and was punished with horrible americanized food. for example, receiving taco bell ground beef tacos after ordering carne asada tacos. i'm around the corner from izzo's so i decided to give it a shot. after seeing the line move and the gear they had, the first thing that came to mind was chipotle. i don't know if louisiana has chipotle, but they're scattered throughout california. yup, it's pretty much a chipotle. although, izzo's does have a gargantuan, mammoth, mega burrito called the illegal-something-or-other. i got the midsized 'steak' burrito. a bit stingy with the meat, even if you order up. the burrito was ok, but at $6 i was hesitant to try the tacos. anyone care to recommend a spot?
(3)Elmer F.
Usually food is good. Prices are a little high. Went to eat tonight and they were out of ground beef. The girl helping me said she told the kitchen to make more 20 minutes ago but they didn't. Clearly having staff issues that need to be addressed. What can I say maybe its a good thing. Ate something at the house and saved money and didn't regret it after. Giving three stars because the food is great but the issue tonight and a previous visit has started to turn me off with this location.
(3)Roy C.
A burrito with conservative add ons was over $10 with small drink. One will pay big time to get it the way he or she would really like it. Was just okay will not go back. Will go back to Taco Bell other side of I 12 next time for $10 I could feed several and be just as good. Plenty of free add ons, but the choice items $$$.
(2)Randy L.
Like the make it yourself serving line and the ample choices of toppings which allows to tailor the burrito to your personal taste. My favorite is the burrito in a bowl which is a much healthier option than your average "taco salad"
(4)Andy M.
Just opened on the North Shore and packed with customers. Food here is pretty good but can get pricey if you get carried away adding to your meal. Assembly line configuration moving left to right with the line ending at the Cash Register. I paid $1.35 for a small tablespoon of Guacamole. Huge portions - two people could split the nacho's with no problem. Food was really good but the turd in the punchbowl for us was the Margarita's -just awful. Whoever mixed this batch did something wrong. Taco Bell on Steroids . . . . Will return but stay away from the Margarita's.
