Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I love this place. Portions are huge and gigantic for the price. Service is always fast and wonderful. Everything about this place is great and I highly recommend.

Can't say that is 4 stars. The food is good authentic American - Mexican. The staff is always friendly and eager to please. Portions large and service is fast. If your looking for a stop in and eat for reasonable Louisiana price this is it.

Came here after a long day on the river, when it shouldn't have been difficult to please. Somehow, left not pleased. The lady ordered the chicken enchilada with salsa verde. She noted that the meat seemed to be of high quality, and the sauce good. I had an enchilada, as well as a chile relleno. Both were remarkably unremarkable. The chile relleno had ground beef in it, which was not mentioned on the menu, and was an unpleasant surprise. My margarita was without question from a store-bought mix, and a bad one at that. The lady had a flavored margarita (can't remember which flavor now), and it was even more artificial-tasting than mine. Not the worst, but do not plan on returning.

Place is very good, closest thing to good Mexican food in the area. Most of it is homemade, incl chips and salsa. Have had several menu items and they are all very good, much better than the typical spots around here like Garcias, Caretta's etc. And this place is run by Mexicans from kitchen to waiters to mgmt... so they know a lot about real food. Coming from Texas, I never liked going to Garcias and being waited on my some 22 yr old girl from some local town who knows nothing about food, esp Mexican food. Also ask for the picante salsa next time - it is pretty hot and quite tasty. And my son declares their cheese quesadillas are the best ever - and we lived in Dallas for many years so he knows his chow.

If you're looking for a low cost meal but not the low cost flavor then this is the place to go. Their prices are extremely reasonable and the food, well lets just say if you finish your plate I would be impressed. Service is amazingly fast even during the rush lunch hour. Very friendly but not all in your face. They have an amazing queso and chorizo. Now normally it's more queso then chorizo. NOT here, the amount of chorizo you get is insane! I basically just fill up on this appetizer and the chips and salsa. No need to order a meal for me.

We had a #33 and a #28, which were really, really good. The guacamole was not so good. And, before we left there was a roach crawling on the wall.

Love this place. Be advised, quesadillas are in the authentic style, meaning it's not what you'd get from Chili's. I don't know what they do to their shredded chicken, but it needs no extras. Yummy time delicious. The base margaritas are nothing to write home about, just stick to the cold beer and the food and you'll be pleased.

Awesome nachos al carbon! Tamales are good. Salsa is good, not spicy hot, though. Excellent choice of bottled hot sauces. Service excellent. Lunch specials are available on Saturday.
