Brisket over waffle fries with cheese and onion strings with a free ice cream cone to boot. Dickies is one of my favorite bbq places, up there with steves bbq and catering in Baytown, tx. My order was take-out, but the inside of the restaurant is quite inviting. It reminded me of the many roadside BBQ joints throughout Texas, but in Louisiana so it was that much better. The staff were very helpful putting my order together and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Speaking of my order, I made it without speaking to anyone. Dickey's uses a pretty easy to navigate online ordering system where all I had to do was show up, take my food and go. Everything else was done online. Being the detail oriented Yelper that I am, I wanted to experience several different items so I opted for the three meat platter. Mine was ordered with brisket, pulled pork and ribs. The pork was slightly dry, but once doused in sauce it was edible. The brisket had a good flavor, but was completely cold. I realize BBQ is not fast food so it may get stored at some point, but cold brisket is not appetizing at all. The ribs on the other hand were warm, smokey and very good. I am sure I will give Dickey's another try, but this experience rates a solid three stars.

I want to give it 4 stars cause the BBQ is so good! BUT..... I ate lunch here today and plan on calling the owners because they are really having problems now. It was 2:30, long after the lunch crowd, and the trash was full, the floors and bathrooms dirty, cold french fries I had to take back, and a meat cutter with an attitude! I also didn't get my pickles and onions with my order. They sweet tea was empty, and the ice cream cones were empty too. I am disappointed as they have good brisket. I hope the company reads this to so they can light a fire under the management.

I had the rib and brisket plat and wow was I surprised at the smoky goodness and the fact that the ribs came right off the bone. Nothing dried out, everything juicy and for a change great sides. I got killer jalapeno baked beans and a delish potato salad to go with my meats. The sweet tea is excellent and they have free ice cream for dessert. What more can you ask for? If your in Covington this is a must stop.

The endless supply of bbq sauce is amazing. No limits to the delicious sweet sauce this place produces. Meat is always tender and cooked perfect! Hard to find good barbeque, so glad we found this place. Only complaint is lack of dining space. Only a couple tables to accommodate more than 4 people.

What I was not too impressed with was the sides and choices I had. I love good ole fashion southern bbq with greens and cornbread. I had to take back my first order of pinto beans and get the bbq beans. I'll try it again I goess but not too impressed this time around.
