I don't drink, I don't do drugs, but dammit I do donuts! And Butter Krisp feeds my donut addiction with their wonderful assortment of donuts...and the best part is that I can get my fix early morn AND in the evening. Unlike Dunkin Donuts which runs out of donuts by mid afternoon...Butter Krisp has an ample supply of FRESH donuts in the evening and folks are walking out the door with a dozen or so, so you know they've got a good thing going.

Have made many trips for donuts but hadn't eaten inside until last weekend. I finally got the guts to order the cheeseburger donut and grilled cheese donut. Strangely yummy. The waitress was slow but kept us contemt. I think the place needs a good scrubbing, though.

Honestly you go here for the hot glazed donuts served 24 hours. The food isn't bad and definitely better than Waffle House. The other pastries are good but not great.

Butter Krisp has the best donuts in the area in my opinion. They have a wide variety and a lot of different ones that I would like to try. However, I always seem to go back to the same ones. The strawberry filled are fantastic as are the chocolate glazed, the honey buns (HUGE) and the all popular glazed donuts. The regular glazed donuts come hot which a lot of people like. I personally don't so I just take mine home and let them sit a while. So good! I can't say a lot for the lunch here. I've only tried it once. I wasn't too impressed with the menu since basically all it offered was burgers, a chicken strip dinner and one or two other items that I can't even remember as they did not appeal to me. I ended up getting the burger and fries which was nothing to write home about. As I looked around I saw a few other dinners advertised on the bar and different places, but for some reason none of them were on the menu which disappointed me because I had really wanted something besides a burger. I don't know that I'll be back for lunch but I'll definitely be back for more donuts!

BEST place to get late night bite size burgers and doughnuts! Always on point and the staff is very friendly as well. No complaints from the 10+ times I have ordered here.

The donuts were NOT worth the drive. The food was overly greasy. The whole place just had a layer of ew. And another guest kept complaining about the service. Though I didn't expect much from the beginning.

The food here is delicious, and the prices are low! I had the eggs, bacon, french toast, and biscuits and gravy and it was all perfectly cooked. The service was quick and friendly. $20 check for two people, including my morning coffee-amazing! I will definitely be returning here. It's the perfect way to start any morning!

Another place suggested to us, since we're new in town. We went through the drive-thru and ordered glazed doughnuts. When the girl at the window found out we were newbies, she have us a complimentary blueberry cake doughnut! Yummy amd great customer service for our first visit.

This was my first time coming to Butter Krisp Diner. My friends and I was around the area hitting up Steak n' Shake. A majority of us usually has a sweet tooth after our meals so we all hopped in the car and made our way here. First thing you notice is the case of donuts walking in. It was like heaven for me. Even though I normally eat glazed and donut holes. I picked out a chocolate stuffed bavarian donut. I was determined to eat it being I was a bit stuffed from dinner still. I wish there was more bavarian cream in it! It was pretty okay but would have been better if the filling was filled more and centered in the donut. My friend wanted me to try the glazed donut since they were hot and fresh. So I broke off a piece and he at the rest. It was scrumptious indeed. Wish I could have ate more that night but that's okay I heated one up the next day and ate it. Still yummy as ever. You will notice a lot of Elvis Presley things in there and I'm okay with it! There's definitely and old school feel and I love diners like this. I will be back because I spotted a donut burger and I've never had one before.

Donuts are amazing....blueberry donuts on the weekend are worth the drive. The only issue is the parking/drive-thru can be a little crazy. But it if you are truly worthy of the butter krisp you will battle it out for a parking spot to get something amazing.

I absolutely love their donuts. Are they the best ever? No, at least not to me. The glazed is always made fresh and hot to order. It must be consumed in a timely manner or else it doesn't taste the same amazing way as it is hot. Other faves here include the glazed Bavarian, buttermilk, and cinnamon. The only times I've ever dined in here have been late late at night, usually after going to downtown bars. The service has always been pretty good to me. The foods always came out in a timely manner. Aside from the donuts, I've had their breakfast foods, and they were always good. Boyfriend really like their Grand Slam meal. Overall, I recommend this place to others to check out.

The place has great potential but falls short for the following reasons. 1. The staff have been there for a while and act as if it's their first day. I truly believe they are acting dumb and can't be as ignorant as they act. Some days they are friendly other days not so much. 2. The food quality is crap. I ordered two wraps this morning and they was barely any egg in them. The tomatoes were cut hugely along with the bell pepper and ham. All the pieces were so big it was ridiculous. I added jalapeños and they put these huge slices on there and so many it was not edible. The whole wrap was a sopping mess that when I got it to the office less than five min away it already leaked through the paper bag. 3. They do not know what's on their own menu. None of the staff. And if you'd like to add or change something they look at you with a glaze in their eyes. They absolutely can't comprehend a triple order of hash browns add onions. It's beyond anyone working there. 4. The two owners seem to be on top of things there when they are there. When the cats away the nice will play. That's when it really goes to shit. (Like this morning) I really believe they have great potential but unless your going for the donuts and great coffee I'd stay away from the subpar food and lack of pride in preparing it.

How could you not stop at a doughnut place that also serves "butter burgers." So one hangover morning as I plodded to the toll plaza, I just had to stop. The service is.....interesting. A young guy ran to the counter, asked me what I wanted, then kept asking me to repeat myself. I asked him for the buttermilk doughnut at least 3 times and finally he took off his drive thru headphones and said he couldn't hear a THING with those on. Well ...we got that worked out (I was very patient even with the sludge gurgling in my head), and I got my doughnut which was a beauty- more of a cruller with crispy edges and a light buttermilk cake inside. There was a little too much glaze on it for me, but I don't have the sweet tooth most people have. Anyway, it was a great piece of sweeeeet goodness and absorbed a lot of last evening's excesses. Then I decided I just had to have a butter burger. Actually I decided I needed TWO butter burgers. Oh how disappointing. The problem with the butter burgers is there is butter (maybe) but no burger. I really can't figure out how the got that patty so thin. It reminded me of the coyote after it was rolled over by the Acme Steamroller. So that was a bummer, but the cruller was so good I stopped by for another a few days later. And I wasn't even hungover.

The donuts here are great and you really have to eat them quick or as soon as you get them. We usually eat at the diner as I like my donuts hot. I did however make the mistake one morning of ordering something other than donuts. I got a breakfast wrap and the contents were taken off the griddle a bit too quick. . . . eggs were runny and the onions and bell pepper were raw. . . not cooked long enough. Only been here for breakfast so can't speak for the lunch menu. They have a drive thru and a small parking lot and it can get crowded - especially on weekend mornings. The donuts would get 5 stars. . . 6 if I could give them 6 stars . . . . the breakfast wrap would get 1 star. I would go here for the donuts and coffee.

If not for the large quantity of food for a low price they would have gotten one star. I've tried this place 3 times and have now come to the realization that the service will never get any better. I flat out refuse to step foot into this place ever again. Good prices or not. I would rather chew my own arm off then deal with the horrible service. First time in, server forgot our drinks, no coffee, no milk, no OJ. Oh and lets not forget no silverware. Next time in the server took my BF's order and never got mine. Just walked away after BF ordered his breakfast. Final and last time in we waited for about 15 min for a server and finally had to go to the counter to place our orders which when delivered to our table was wrong. Just not worth the aggravation.

Butter Krisp has been a covington staple for a loooong time now. When I lived there I ate the ever loving shit out of their donuts, and only recently went back to revisit their glory. If you haven't had a good donut, I'm not sure if I can properly describe my enthusiasm about them to you. Let me put it this way though: Krispy Kreme - bottom of the barrel, these are more or less styrofoam rings glazed with what appears to be a thin mixture of powdered sugar, whale semen, and baby's tears. A step up from there is Dunkin' Donuts. Bearable indeed, and some of them are actually pretty tasty, but it isn't among my favorite places to go for a sugary breakfast. Cafe Du Monde - not donuts per se, but if you want a doughy sugar-covered snack for breakfast, this ranks right under Butter Krisp. Then of course, there is Butter Krisp. The plain glazed are fantstic, but the chocolate covered cream filled ones were always my favorite growing up. Thick, gooey bavarian cream is crammed into this donut so hard that it screams the safe word. Then half of it is dipped into a sort of chocolate fondant icing sort of thing that hardens your nipples instantly upon contact with your tongue. Their lemon and jelly filled ones are great as well. They have little burgers and stuff that are decent too, but go for the donuts. The main reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5? Donuts are highly overrated and horrible for you, and should be enjoyed in heavy moderation. Keep that in mind, you donut-porkers who hit this place up every day.
