Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I'm not really sure what it is about Italian food but I really just don't get to excited to eat it. For some reason I was in the mood for it the other day and decided to go try out the local Olive Garden off of Airline. The food was decent I guess, once again i'm not a huge italian food fan so i'm probably not the best person to critique how good it was. There is one thing that you do have to love about Olive Garden though, all those free breadsticks and salad!

I normally don't complain, but this is ridiculous! I love Olive Garden, but for the 3rd (and LAST) time of having issues with this location... Not happy at all! Ordered 2 dinners for pick up. One with chicken gnocci and the other with the ranch salad w/o the peppers and olives. Ended up with two "complete" salads loaded with what seemed to be extra peppers and olives and both with Italian dressing. No ranch. No chicken gnocci. The stuffed chicken parm was the greasiest ever! Oh, I also think they give the old stale breadsticks to the "to-go" customers. If you want your order to be correct and AS ORDERED... go somewhere else. This restaurant will not give you what you ask for.

My husband wanted Olive Garden for lunch and since I almost always get my way, I decided a little acquiescence never hurt anyone. Rashied was our server and he was a delight. We enjoyed his recommendations when asked. We even changed an order just after he put it in and he didn't bat an eye. He was attentive and thorough and very pleasant. We usually have a so-so time at Olive Garden (with an awful exception you'll note while we were in Alaska) but really I just go for the soup, salad and breadsticks. But I think, because of Rashied, a review needs to be written this time. We did the 2 for $25 deal. My husband ordered the Three Meat Fettuccine thing and I ordered the Chicken Firenze. We also asked for an artichoke fritta for an appetizer. Usually their appetizers are small and anticlimactic, but these were really good! And there was a lot of it! The salad and breadsticks were brought out immediately and they were perfect. Sometimes the salad will have too little dressing or the breadsticks will be almost flavorless. But today, they were wonderful. There was a minor panic when they ran out of the three colored fettuccine noodles for my husband's meal, but he assured Rashied that regular noodles would suit just fine. My chicken firenze was very good! I was actually surprised at how plentiful and tasty the meal was. Rashied paid us a visit and asked my husband if he had enough sauce. Wow! That has certainly never happened before! There was enough sauce, but the idea that he would check and seemingly offer to bring more was incredible! He brought us boxes for our leftovers and brought out a bag and packed up the boxes. Usually if a bag is brought out, it's just laid on the table for us to do. AND, he asked if we would like some more breadsticks. Our check was brought out with double the mints too. I honestly don't know how our meal could have been made better. I don't feel I can award five stars, however, as my other experiences here have not been as incredible. I'm thankful we stopped in today! Edited to add- This may illustrate my point- we just went to an Olive Garden at a different location and once again had a miserable time. I didn't see Chicken Firenze on the menu and asked our server about it. They don't have it anymore. She went and asked the kitchen if they could make it. She came back and said they could. Great! So I order it. My family orders and I hesitate. My husband ordered the build-your-own Tour of Italy. I sort of want one. So she sees my hesitation and then says, "well, if it makes a difference, the kitchen said they'll do the Chicken Firenze but it's just Alfredo sauce". Um, what? It's actually NOT Alfredo sauce. So why then did she just tell me they can make it? So had I not hesitated, she would have brought me chicken Alfredo and tried to pass it off as the same thing? No. Strike One. So I change my order to the regular Tour of Italy for $16.99. My husband orders his Tour of Italy with the Eggplant Parmesan, spaghetti, and Lasagna for $12.99. The food comes out and my lasagna is about a quarter of the size of my husbands (remember that his was $12.99 because he got the cheaper eggplant). I asked who I pissed off in the kitchen and she just laughs and walks away. No? Strike Two. She comes back a few minutes later and says, "I asked the kitchen about your lasagna and they said its smaller because it's a special". I said, "But I didn't order the special." And she laughs and walks off. Are you kidding me? Hello??? You just screwed up and you do nothing? Completely unacceptable. Strike three. A while later she brings the check and boxes. I box up the leftovers and she hands me the bag. I guess first-rate service doesn't occur here. You just lost the game. I bag up my food and leave. What a joke.

I would say, usually I do not mind waiting for a table, but tonight was rather bothersome, so our party of 10 left, after the manager was called twice to find a table suitable. There were no less than 40 tables open. I would say if you have a large party, look for another restaurant in the area.

Of course the salad and breadsticks are a must. Good service! I always get the seafood pasta, super yummy.

Dinner Friday night here with family. Had a good meal and we had a very nice waiter. He was very helpful and attentive. Stuffed mushrooms are great and the buy one take one deal is not bad. I enjoyed the chicken with cheese and bacon pieces as well as my salad and bread sticks. Thanks for treating my daughter to a piece of cake for her birthday. Would definitely go again.

Mediocre food. As good as can be expected, I guess from a chain restaurant. Would not recomment if you want authentic Italian food.

After being stationed in Italy for two years it's very hard for me to sit at any American Italian chain restaurant and say that it is great food because NOTHING is great compared to the real thing. However, Olive Garden does have wonderful salad and breadsticks. The wait staff was friendly but slow. I only ordered the salad and breadsticks at lunch one day last week and it took a great deal of time and they were not even that busy. If you go, go early.
