Save your money as you would be better off at the Golden Corral and I mean no disrespect to Golden Corral I just wouldn't choose to spend $400 to eat there. Also, check your bill as they are sneaky and try to charge everyone for the full amount even if only the salad portion is ordered, take notice that most of the wines are sold by the half bottle this is not made clear on the menu.

Y'all, this place is tacky. It was my bf's bday and he insisted on going. Ok fine. I had never been. $144 for 2. Included salad bar, which was actually good, but wtf. $144 meal when I am serving myself most of the time? They do come around with the meat and all, which I found to just be ok. And it was baltic in there- unreasonably cold. Also, so many people all up in my grill at dinner: the manager, all the people with the meat, the 5 minute explanation of the restaurant from the server. No. Not my thing. I'd rather spend that kind of money at Lola's, Domenica, Peche...Also, the decor is quite Asian. 'Twas neither Texan nor Brazilian inspired. Looks like the interior of PF Chang's. Texas de Brazil gets a huge :::eyeroll::: from this gal.

Took a drive up to BR to celebrate a special occasion and you guys didn't disappoint! The food, our server, the ambiance were all above and beyond expectation! Will be back soon.

This is always an amazing experience. The cuts of meat are always delicious. The waiting staff is always on point. This visit, our main waitress Amanda, was top notch! We had a person arrive late but she always kept up with us and even spent time talking to our late friend when he arrived so he'd feel welcome. I can't recommend her enough!

This was my first visit to this restaurant and did not know what to expect. Just so you know it works like this: 1. Go to the salad bar - it is awesome and has everything (olives, California roll, meats, cheeses, etc.) 2. Eat lots of meat - you are given a little disc that is red on one side and green on the other. When you turn it green the "meat men" carrying skewers of meat come to your table and offer you some. Filet, flank steak, beef ribs, lamb chops, leg of lamb, sausages and so on. 3. Pick a favorite (or not) - if you pick a favorite cut of meat only that guy will keep coming to your table (or you can just enjoy the waves of various meat) 4. Wobble home

Where I live in Utah, we have a similar restaurant called Rodizio's. I would have to say Rodizio's is much better all around. Texas was NOISY, the waiter was screaming to explain how the service worked. We would've much preferred a dessert menu to READ cuz we couldn't hear him anyway. The lobster bisque soup tasted like plain cream of tomato. Rodizio's offers more chicken and seafood and fresh warm pineapple on their skewers. NOT IMPRESSED!

If you take a liking to all you can eat establishments this restaurant may be for you. As for myself, I did not prefer the meat to have the same monotonous taste regardless of the amount I may eat. I did not feel like I received a great experience for the amount that I paid, and would only return if circumstances would be difficult to resist, like my boss insisting on treating his employees there.

This place is amazing for meat lovers. I took my dad here for his birthday dinner and he absolutely loved it. The lamb and flank steak were my favorites. Definitely try the dipping sauces. I thought the lobster bisque was way overrated, but that's okay since everything else more than makes up for it. We also had the cheesecake and mango cream for dessert, and they were delicious.

If you are a meat lover, this is a can't miss. Delicious!!!! The salad bar was very good aswell. The lobster bisque is the best I have ever tasted. Great ambiance and wonderful service.

Great Place, we been here multiple times and it is never over crowed or loud. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the special bar drinks.

Just not going to get any better. There is a plethora of options on the salad bar. The meat was cooked almost perfectly and the atmosphere is impeccable. Service is that of a five-star restaurant. The outside atmosphere takes you to a village like/New Orleans like atmosphere. We will certainly be back. This will be our go to occasion place!

All you can eat steaks!!! All the filet mignons I could eat! I could barely stand to walk afterwards. The steaks are fresh from the kitchen and never ending. No one could possibly leave here hungry.

  • Jordan T.

Oh yeah, let's eat!!! I love coming here for a good meat binge! The meat is a tad bit on the salty side, but I don't mind it. What I do mind is you have wait way too long before the bring around the filet mignon or the leg of lamb. They need to speed up on the rounds they make with those items, I was a little frustrated with waiting for those. Other than that, you can't beat $40-$45 for 10lbs of meat! Not sure I ate that much, but it seemed like it. Very good salad bar as well!

The food was great. Our server was fantastic. The hostesses were mediocre. We had an 8:30 reservation and weren't seated til close to 9. The main hostess didn't so much as apologize for the long wait time. She seemed more annoyed that we checked on our table after 20 minutes of waiting for our reserved table.

Everything was actually excellent despite some of the reviews. Ambience is fantastic and plenty of variety at the salad bar. The smoked salmon is incredible. The only reason I wouldn't rate a 5 is because hoq cold it was inside wven at 9-10 at nite.

We drove an hour or so to eat at this location, but it was definitely worth it! Mark our server was fantastic. I've been to Texas de Brazil before in dallas, and I have to say this place is superior in service and decor. The servers were constantly checking up on us, and refilling our waters, making sure we had everything we wanted. The Brazilian salad (cucumber and onions) & the Brazilian vinaigrette is my favorite thing ever from the salad bar. Pairs so well with steak. My friend probably ate two whole rack of lamb by himself.. I myself LOVED the flank steak medium rare. It was so delicious and perfectly cooked. A little bloody, but so delicious. And the bacon filet minion had so much flavor. Everything was very satisfying and definitely worth the money. For desserts, the cheesecake was amazinggg!!

Been here many many times, unfortunately this time wasn't so great. Our service was fantastic (it's hard to have bad service when you have so many attendants running around), but my complaints were about the meat. Everything was coming out well done and we weren't asked about our preference until we were half way through our meal. Yes, I said the service was fantastic, meaning our drinks did not go empty and our roll basket stayed full; but out waiter was MIA for a good bit. After we told them our preference, we then had to wait for all new meat to be cooked. Not my favorite visit for sure.

Our server was top notch & the food was amazing. Great salad bar. We felt like we got our money's worth. The low points were: 1) It was freezing cold! 2) We had a 7 o'clock reservation for my birthday, but weren't seated until almost 8. What's the point of taking the time to make a reservation if you still have to wait almost an hour?? The hostess station seemed totally lost & got aggravated with me for asking (after 25 minutes of waiting) how long it would be. While the food was delicious, I will think twice before coming again. The food gets 5 stars, but the overall experience is only 3 because of the poor service from the hostesses.

The food was delicious. My server James was great. His suggestions were very helpful. I went late so I didn't have time to get to the salad bar but it looked nice. Will be returning soon

If you sign up for the E club you get $25 off on your birthday. Which is great because a normal meal for one person is $44.99. My husband got the dinner and I got the lite dinner which is the salad bar. The salad bar is awesome but I wish they had more hot options on it. Most everything was cold (shrimp, mushrooms, asparagus, salmon). While they are serving yummy meats I don't feel I can eat $45 worth of meat and utilize the salad bar as well. We will only go when we have coupons. P.S. The deserts are delicious!!

I am giving this place 3 stars but if the 1/2 star could be employed it would 3.5. We went last night and in the last 12 months I have dined here 4-5 times---I will return in the future and I enjoy eating here 3 star review notwithstanding. Why the 3 stars? Well, it's expensive to dine there so with the cost comes the expectation so I have high expectations. SeAting policy---the times I have eaten here have been planned so we get reservations and we usually have a party of 5-10. unfortunately we have people in our party who invariably fail to show up on time---no more than a 5-15 minutes late but still not on time--well they will not sit us until we have our entire party present---that's their choice and policy but I am boys fan of this practice----if we get seated eArly there are folks in our party who can place the drink order and or otherwise review the menu---wine selections at a more leisurely pace--true you can do that at the front while wAiting however I give you my preference which is not a choice given to me. Having dined here a few times, I will let others describe the food and process ---I like the salad bar, etc but usually do not eat much of that----the meat selections are what I enjoy--and my favorites here are the flank steak, beef ribs and lamb selections. Last night they were not near as salty but interestingly enough it was greasier than usual----another thing to mention---the servers took extra time to ask if we wanted a medium, medium rare, etc portion which was mot as prevalent let adked in the past. The servers and wait staff are always professional and polite although some are more attentive than others. The bathrooms have always been clean and well kept. One other thing---the times I have dined there---once seated they have never rushed us and I appreciate that and want to point this out.

My husband and I went for his birthday yesterday. He had been asking for a while to make the trip since we aren't big on Mardi Gras. It's fairly expensive on top of the drive, so I vowed I'd eat to point of self hatred before leaving. I was initially annoyed because I called days in advance to ask if they'd be open on Mardi Gras day and told a reservation wouldn't make a difference. We got there and had to wait because we didn't have a reservation, even though I could see multiple empty tables that didn't get filled at any point in our stay. Also, it's freezing in there. You'll definitely need a jacket and I'd recommend making the reservation. Once we were seated, the service was swift. To the food... I'd been day dreaming about the potatoes since my husband brought it up. Being as my diet consist of 90% fruits and vegetables and minimal amounts of dairy, I knew I was going in hot on a mission to completely wreck my digestive system. Boy, did I. And it was amazing. I ate my weight in various cheeses, potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. I rode the hour home with my seat warmer on high, in the fetal position, floating in and out of conscious thought. My husband didn't go for the punishment, but thoroughly enjoyed his birthday festival of meats. The only slight disappointment was in the drink I ordered, which was the Ipanema margarita. It was $12, pink and in a martini glass. It tasted like a pink drink, far too sweet and not very margarita like at all. We will definitely return, reservation in hand, ready for war on the salad bar. I *might* bring a boom box and play Eye of the Tiger...

This place makes you feel like royalty. Granted, it is on the expensive side, but if you are a meat lover and/or you have been called a "bottomless pit" at any recent point in your life, this is your spot! Also, if you've never been to this restaurant or any other place similar, I really suggest that you go at least once in your lifetime. It's really a culinary experience, from the salad bar to the sides to the meats. For those that don't know, there is a myriad and abundance of meats that are brought from the kitchen straight to your table. If you don't want a particular cut, that's fine, you don't have to take it... but you'll want to try so much! Filet mignon, lamb shank, chicken, lamb chops, sausage, flank steak, among many others. But if you're going to TdB, and you've never been before, allow me to give you some pointers before you take the meat plunge. Before getting into my 5 steps of eating at TdB, let me just prepare you... You go to Texas De Brazil not only to eat, but to win. These steps will help you conquer the TdB war. 1. Dress appropriately - this does not necessarily mean dress nice. If you're on a date, sure, dress nice, or go somewhere where you can't sloppily pig out and look like an animal who can't control your appetite! What I actually mean when I say dress appropriately, is wear pants with spandex waistbands. 2. Don't be fooled by the yummy bread bites. As delicious as they are, they are your enemy. They take up much needed room in your stomach. Just say no. 3. The salad bar can be used to hurt or harm you. Don't go feasting on all those veggies and salad bits. I use the salad bar to get items that enhance the flavor of the meats. Thick bacon, pineapple slices, asparagus, shrimp, etc. 4. Get the good cuts. Forgo the sausages and bacon wrapped chicken and go for the filets and lamb chops and such. 5. The amazing lobster bisque is an amazing dipping sauce. Bonus: I cannot stress the importance of not eating this way on a date. You will probably lose the love of your life if you follow these steps and still desire to be desired.

PHENOMENAL!!!!!!! My wife and I stopped in for Sunday dinner without a reservation. They were very accommodating to us. Sat us promptly, and we proceeded to have one of the best experiences I have EVER had in Baton Rouge. From start to end, it was perfection.

Beautiful restaurant in Perkins Rowe. Food is delicious. Gauchos come to your table with every cut of meat imaginable, all very well cooked. The salad bar is fantastic with a wonderful assortment of cheeses and everything for a great salad. The cocktails are very good, try the Caipirinha.

A carnivores paradise. It is my favorite steak house. It puts Ruth Chris to shame, I will never waste my money at Ruth Chris as long as there is Texas de Brazil, and it's actually a little cheaper too. You get so many different cuts of fresh meats. The salad bar is amazing too but don't let them fool you with it. Too much eating at the salad bar and you won't have room for the meat. The lobster bisque is out of this work as well. It's an excellent dining experience that everyone should enjoy. It's 47 dollars a person but it's all you can eat, drinks and dessert are separate but I never have room for dessert. My top 3 cuts of meat that I recommend are the flank, house cut, and the filet mignon wrapped in bacon all medium rare. If I had to pick a last meal, this would be it.

I LOVE this place! I went for my anniversary and left feeling more than content. The service was top-notch. Our waiter came often and offered us a wide array of drink options, as well as everything else TDB had to offer. We eventually settled on the strawberry lemonade, which was oh-so-refreshing. Plus, the food was divine! They serve tons of meat, so if that's your thing I'd recommend it. At $50 a plate it's a bit pricey, but trust me- you're paying for the quality AND quantity of your food. You are served what could be compared to a bottomless pit of meat, varying from multiple dishes of beef, chicken, and veil, which are all cooked to perfection and carved right onto your plate! A truly unique and satisfying dining experience. I'd recommend to anybody welcome to a blatantly cool and extremely filling meal. Oh, and the cheese rolls are to die for ;)

There are only 3 letters to discribe this place. G.A.F. If you don't know what that means; well use your imagination! I was waddling when I left from there stuffed to the gills with all kinds of protein. The desert was awesome too! It was just an overall great food junkie experience and I would most definitely go back. Oh and one last thing. They offer a 15% military discount for those with D.O.D. ID cards. Go Navy!

This place is overrated. I don't know what's so special about this place. I walk out of there each time unsatisfied & with the worst stomach ache. The salads there are too salty ukh can't stand that place. Although our waiter was nice he was a tall blonde slim guy.

I went into this place expecting to get the meat sweats, but I left a little unsatisfied! To be honest, I expected a lot more out of this place. I've heard so many people rave about how good this place was, so we finally decided to give it a shot. I should have brought a jacket and some ear plugs! I'm rarely cold, but this place was freezing and way too loud for a random Wednesday evening dinner at a 1/4 full restaurant. The salad bar was pretty legit. They had a lot of choices and everything I had was delicious. The meats were alright. I personally didn't like the lamb chops or leg of lamb, the filet was dry, and everything wrapped in bacon had such an overpowering bacon taste that I honestly couldn't tell what meat was in there. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant had an awesome look to it. But $50 a person for friendly people and nice decor with mediocre food is a little too much for me.

Does life get any better than this...my family with me, scotch, as much meat as you want and a great cigar...life is good. Yeah. I love this place...the meats are fresh and seasoned well. We will go back again and again.

Every time we come to this steakhouse we get great service and amazing food! Love all of the different varieties of meat. I like my steak medium so they cooked it a little longer just for me (normally served med rare). The salad bar and cheese selection is great also. Just a great place to go for a celebration. It is expensive ($50 per person) but I had a VIP card so we all got our dinners half price! They sell the vip card online twice per year. Worth the money in my opinion.

After visiting a Fogo de Chao , I searched for something similar. Texas de Brazil is the same concept - all you can eat brazilian meat. The inside is very nice but people were more casually dressed than I expected. The server was nice but dissapeared after the initial visit. The meat offerings took a while to arrive. They only have a few servers and they rotate them with different meat, so at any one time, you only have about half of the meat options being offered. I remember at Fogo, these men were at your table like flys. I had to turn my card over several times. That wasnt the case here, in fact there were times I was waiting for a while before I was offered something. In all - service seemed slow. Prices were good. $45 for all you can eat meat! Tips: Dont eat lunch. You need to prepare your belly. Stay away from the bread. It sucks anyway. Minimize the salad bar. Although they offer more than meat, lets be real, you're here for the meat. When offered Top Sirloin, say yes, always, it is their "house specialty" and delivered as promised.

Texas de Brazil was the best night out for our intrepid work team. We were hosted by the site management team, and it was an excellent choice in terms of both fellowship and food. I went relatively easy on the wide variety of tempting meat portions, as the "salad bar" already gave me a generous portion variety. I was also mindful that among all this delicious food, moderation was best, and pacing was the key to my savory success. Service was spot on and my wine choice (singular - I was driving) went well with my dinner options. I left "happy full" and not feeling any "gluttony guilt" of eating too much or too little.

I can't give this place 5* as I save that for truly exceptional all around experiences. With that being said, we really enjoyed ourselves here except for a hiccup with service. The service issue makes me want to bump my review down to 3* but I won't because the food was very good. Service was good in the beginning but then the place got busy and our waiter forgot about us. Literally there was about 25 minutes between when we were finished and he said he'd be right back with the desserts to when we finally tracked someone down to request our check. ONLY THEN did he come back with the dessert tray. Drink refills were not offered. The salad bar was excellent and had many many choices other than traditional salad items. Lobster bisque was very delicious and I'm really picky about my lobster bisque. The meats were out of this world good. Everyone in our party had a favorite and mine was the flank steak or the sirloin. Once the restaurant got busy, it got REALLY loud. If you sign up for their email list online, they'll send you what amounts to a 50% off coupon for an entree when you buy one. be aware though that it expires after 30 days of being issued so don't sign up before you are close to going.

Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Texas de Brazil, but man, was that place loud! I could barely hear the server (who was very nice, by the way, as was his trainee) as he explained how everything worked. Also, one of the hostesses was pretty rude to my friend and me - not really sure what her problem was, but I did notice in another review that someone else said the same thing. Maybe Texas de Brazil should look into it? The food was pretty excellent, though. Not being a big meat eater, I was a little nervous about getting my money's worth, but after having a little bit of everything that was available (as far as meats go), I found it: flank steak! It was cooked about "medium," maybe "medium-rare," and it was great! If I went back, however, I would probably just get the salad bar. (I think they call it the "light dinner" option.) That's where the real gems were: lobster bisque, potatoes, salad options galore, cheeses, different types of sliced ham, smoked salmon, shrimp, etc. I feel like, for my tastes, that would be more worth the money. The before dinner drink I ordered was pretty good, too, and the bar tender was very nice. I had the Girl from Ipanema, and I would definitely get it again. I just wish I'd finished it before the meal started. It just isn't one of those drinks that goes well with food, in my opinion. My friend ordered the white wine from Sonoma and really enjoyed it. To sum things up: yes, I enjoyed my experience, but there were a few things I would change. I think, next time, I will go early for drinks and, as I mentioned above, I'll get the salad bar option and just forgo the meats.

We went out with friends and brought my daughter who has severe food allergies. The waiter immediately brought a printed list with a table of their food and main food allergens blocked in (or blank if it was safe). My child who is extremely allergic to wheat and beef ate at Texas de Brazil completely safely and happily. The servers figured out she liked the lamb and continued to bring her lamb. I think they couldn't believe this little kid could put away so much meat. The salad bar and the meat selection is wonderful. You might also want to know that you can request a meat with less salt or NO salt and they will bring you that selection! The bananas they serve as a side dish are a wonderful palate cleanser between cuts of meat. Many of the cheeses they have on the salad bar go well with the meat also. My friend kept passing up the flank steak saying there were better cuts of meat to eat there. I told her she was really missing out! The next offering she got some. She said it was the best thing she had eaten yet that evening! Don't pass up the flank steak as a cheap cut of meat. It's excellent - as is the filet and the top sirloin! Over all, the service was great and we are extremely happy with our experience. We particularly appreciate their treatment of my child and how easy it was to accommodate her condition. We will be back tomorrow!

As I sit here dreaming and salivating thinking about my next TDB experience later this month (BIRTHDAY COUPON FOR THE WIN!), I feel the need to inform the masses about this festival of meat. Texas De Brazil is not for the faint of heart, or the kind of hungry. It's for those that unapologetically enjoy eating meat until you can't eat anymore, and then eat dessert. Sure, part of the appeal is the novelty of TDB - servers dressed as gauchos cutting flank steak, filet mignon with and without bacon, and the house specialty on a simple flip of a circle - but y'all, it really is DELICIOUS. Juicy, flavorful, and for the most part, a perfect medium rare. Don't like medium rare? No problem, tell your waitstaff and they'll make sure your meat is overcooked just the way you like it, but if I'm there, I'm going to judge you. Don't like meat? If you can stand the abundance of beef, lamb, and chicken walking around you, the salad bar is a solid choice with gourmet vegetables, cheese, and breads that are numerous enough for you to make a meal. Hell, the salad bar is even a nice siesta for the meat eaters between bites of lamb shank and brazilian sausage. Even if the accompanying salad bar isn't for you, I strongly suggest you go up to the bar and scoop up some of the delicious chimichurri sauce to dip your meat in. PERFECTION. The lobster bisque is also creamy and fulfilling, but beware, it may hinder your ability to have that third serving of flank steak. If the food I've already described isn't enough, you also get creamy mashed potatoes, spellbinding cheese buns that you won't be able to eat just one of, and palate cleansing cinnamon bananas delivered to your table. The yum continues! I didn't even touch on the wine selection and caipirinhas, but they're pretty legendary too. Basically, after you eat here, you'll want to walk the long way to your car and drive home to go straight to bed. And then not eat anything else for the rest of the week. Yes, if you eat here you'll be committing a bit of gluttony, but every once in a while, it feels good to be bad.

I generally go there about once a month and love the experience. The atmosphere is very chic and the food is wonderful. Of course, as previous reviewers have stated, it is pricey, so come hungry, you pay the same regardless of how much steak, etc. you eat. The only problem I've had is the most recent visit when our waitress asked if we want cocktails or a bottle of wine and we said no, no other beverages were offered! Finally, one of our dining companions asked for a soda and she asked around the table if other drinks were needed. I think one problem after several times of going there isn't bad at all!

Two words...Meat Coma. But seriously, don't bring your vegan or vegetarian friends to this temple of meat. Yes, it's a little pricey. But for unlimited amounts of high quality fresh grilled lamb, filet, sirloin, etc...delicious.... I took my parents here for their first time a few months back and they still talk about it, not just a great meal but a great experience. Check it out!

Overall, I am simply amazed by my experience. This was my second visit to a Texas de Brazil -- my first being to the one in Fort Worth. I went with a friend, and I cannot believe how awesome the food was. I love the salad bar, which would make a trip to TdB worth it by itself. I remembered that I loved the lobster bisque from my first visit, but that memory did not prepare me for the treat I was in for. I got a bowl, and I was instantly transported to heaven. The bisque has a distinct lobster flavor, but that doesn't overpower the other flavors. It is creamy and smooth, and RICH. I could make a meal entirely out of the lobster bisque. When you first sit down, you know you are in for a unique experience when the waiter starts explaining how the restaurant works. They give you a little disc that is green on one side and red on the other. When you are ready for the meats, turn to green. Then servers appear with skewers and plates of an amazing array of meats. When you have had your fill, or need a break, simply turn your little disk to red. When you turn your disc to green, they also bring out some kind of baked banana and mashed potatoes and cheese biscuits. When I finished my salad (which a whole review could be devoted to), I flipped my little disc, and the meat started arriving. Wave after wave of steaks and pork and chicken and lamb. I tried every kind of meat I could get my hands on. The only meat I wasn't completely thrilled with was the bacon-wrapped filet mignon, as it was a tad salty. I am not sure what my favorite was. It was likely the filet mignon (not wrapped in bacon) or the lamb shank. Every meat was so tender and juicy. It is next to impossible to truly pick a favorite. After I was stuffed with meats, I decided that I had to have dessert. I chose a cheesecake. I don't remember what exactly they called it. What I do remember was that my friend said that he would only have "a bite", and ate about 1/3 of it. It was creamy and sweet. It had caramel sauce on the top and light crust. But perhaps the most important part of the entire dessert was the thick layer of fudge that rested just above the crust. It was amazing. If you go, it is a "must-have."

Who wouldn't love being offered their choice of meat at their desired cooking? The service was above and beyond. Our waiter and floor manager always checked up on us to make sure we were happy campers and also offered us a chance to make special requests. The salad bar is amazing alone... and their flan is basically a taste of heaven.

This place!!!!! OMG It is AMAZING!!!!!! I took my girlfriend there for a special date back in 2012 and we've been constant customers ever since then. We LOVE MEAT AND SALAD BAR. I have no words to describe it - the selection of meats ... the stakes they have is beyond the best. I highly recommend Texas de Brazil to anyone who is looking for a very special treat with very special people!

We love this place, always come here for special occasions. The flank steak is my favorite, and the garlic sirloin is worth writing about, too! They make spectacular grasshoppers of you are into those. Reservations are accepted, good to have on Saturday night. Definitely join their email list, BOGO free on your birthday. :-)

Wow! I went here for the first time, and I can tell you it lives up to the hype. Food - Delicious and Plentiful. Must have: Lobster Bisque, Filet, Brazilian Sausages. When they bring you different meats, skip the chicken, cheap steak cuts, and pork and tell them no thanks until you have had your fill of the good cuts! Then try the other stuff. It's good, but nowhere near as great as the filet cuts. Drinks - The drink menu is huge, they have liquors and drinks I've never seen outside a specialty bar or lounge. Their special rum-based cocktails are great but are so sweet, it's like a liquid jolly rancher. Try the Brazilian beers. Great wine selection as well. Service - For some reason they give you multiple servers. This may work fine in theory, but I had a hard time finding a server or getting their attention sometimes, probably because they handle so many tables at once. They do a good job at explaining their concept to you, but spent TOO MUCH time trying to upsell you on wines and desserts. Next time, ask me if I would like to hear your 10 minute wine speal or if I already know what I want. The gentlemen who bring the meat cuts will come at you hard and fast, and then disappear. I suppose because they are servicing another side of the restaurant. Be prepared to wait a bit if you request a specific cut or cook. Overall I always did receive what I wanted in terms of service, if perhaps not as fast as I would like. Overall - Would reccomend from a dinner for two or a group of friends. Lots of fun and delicious. Worth the price--you will spend about the same at another comparable restaurant, but not get near the selection, and the quality is on par or better.

I'm not generally a big meat eater, especially red meat, but I must say I had a great time here. To start with the salad bar was awesome. They had such a variety of delicious things to choose from. There was this salsa like vinaigrette salad dressing that I loved. People in the group I was in were loving the lobster bisque, I didn't try it though in an attempt to save room for the meat. But I hear good things. I also loved those plantains. They say they are a palette cleanser, and I guess they are, but really I didn't need an excuse to eat them, they were just great. I also really liked the meat. You can be careful and not eat too much by just taking one piece at a time and pacing yourself. But it's hard. Just try not to eat too much during the day before you head there. The filet mignon was definitely my favorite but everything was really pretty awesome. The only downside was the volume of the restaurant. It was super loud in there and we were a group of 9 people, so it was a bit hard to hear each other. Definitely not a deal breaker but something to keep in mind. I wouldn't make this a regular stop, but it truly was fun.

When we walked in, my first thought was "oh no, we're under-dressed". Not to worry, people in a wide range of attire were dining, though. Still, since its a pricey venue most folks seem to be on the nicer side of casual attire. We went on a Sunday evening and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. Our waiter explained the restaurant to us with clarity and confidence, including fantastic eye contact. I hate it when waiters look over the top of your head. The salad bar, which is included in the fixed price, was really neat and unusual. There was lettuce and dressing a few typical veggies, sure, but there were also cold veggies that Americans are used to eating hot like asparagus and zucchini. The mushrooms (warm and cold) were fantastic, and the tabbouleh was fresh and zesty. One of the dressings is a Brazillian vinegrette which I would describe as a finely chopped salsa in vinegar. It was different and really tasty. Then there is the meat. Oh my gosh, the meat! Beef, pork, and lamb were amazing! You get warm bananas as a palette cleanser so that you can really taste each cut. There's also garlic mashed potatoes that are tasty, but who wants to waste tummy space and calories on mashed potatoes?! Chicken and sausage were also available, but I hit a brick wall, before trying either of those. We wrapped up with a triple chocolate mousse cake that was so rich and creamy, we had to take half of it home. The rest of the dessert tray, which is not included in the fixed price, looked equally divine. Again, this is a pricey restaurant that I will probably save for special occasions or visiting family, but I am SO glad I experienced it and would encourage anyone curious about Brazillian steakhouses try this place, because you won't regret it.

Terribly overpriced. Go somewhere else if you have to! If you want to go, just for the experience, make sure you become a member of their e-mail club, you can can BOGO for your birthday & anniversary. I would never pay full price for this place! Coming from Los Angeles, where Brazilian steakhouse places were plentiful, inexpensive and worth every penny!! The meat here all tastes the same, they even have the nerve to charge an extreme amount of money for just the salad bar w/o the meat...you all are crazy!! A terrible variety of meats...you all need to keep up with the other steakhouses around the country...you need rabbit, frogs legs, duck, etc....now that is a Brazilian steakhouse!! You got 2 stars because the ambiance is great...newsflash...YOU CANNOT EAT AMBIANCE!!!!!!

The salad bar is one of the best I've ever seen, Many options to choose from. By the time I was done messing with the salad bar I was unable to eat any meat.

Positives: 1) steak and salad is very good, just like an authentic brasilian steakhouse. 2) convenient parking in a garage near the shopping center 3) good wait staff Not so positive 1) every time I go, there is one hostess who is not friendly. Always the same one, and i cringe when I know I have to deal with her. Not very friendly (everyone in Baton Rouge is friendly, so it shocks me), and not accommodating. I generally like to take customers there, but I'm starting to find the hassle of getting my table and seating to be too much.

I want to start off by saying that we go to Texas De Brazil once, maybe twice, a year. I think that is enough and wouldn't want to go any more often than that. That said.. I still really enjoy myself each and every time I go. I love red meat and can't get enough of it. If you share my sentiments then you'll love TdB. Granted, the salad bar is great. The lobster bisque is top notch and the proscuitto is delicious, but you're not here for that. You're here for the meat. Honestly that's all TdB is to me: just meat, meat, meat and when you're all meated out, guess what? More freakin' meat. Love their specialty sirloin, flank steak, and most of all, the beef rib. Sign up at their website for a birthday BOGO coupon.

Highly overrated unless you are a carnivore. With so much hype over this restaurant coming to Baton Rouge I just knew I had to try it. Went in with too great of expectations being that it could not be fulfilled. Would not recommend unless you just love meat

I LOVE this place. Once a year, in December, I have to go to Baton Rouge to work a trade show in the River Center. To celebrate (if we did a great job) we come here. Servers are very knowledgeable and come around to your table with different kinds on meat on this sword-looking thing. I'm not sure what the proper name is. When you sit down, you are given a coaster. There are two sides - green and red. It's simple: if you want servers coming around and asking you if you want that kind of meat, you keep the coaster on green. If you've had enough, flip it to red. There is an optional salad bar. I've never been a huge salad eater, but I'd say it's pretty good. If you're a pick eater, this is the place for you because there is such a variety of food... you will surely find SOMETHING you like. And if you don't, then you're a hopeless case. It has a more fun and exotic vibe than romantic. You'll impress a girl if you bring her here, just be prepared to pay a lot. It's very expensive, but I think it's worth it. Good place to celebrate something special.

Texas de Brazil is the kind of place that follows the quantity over quality principle. They give you tons of overcooked meat. If you follow the policy that a steak should never be cooked more than rare, you're going to have a bad time. This place is definitely worth a visit if only for the novelty of the experience. I do highly recommend the salad bar and the lobster bisque. Also I suggest you go with at least two highly competitive giants with huge appetites, watching them compete over who can eat the most can make the experience a lot more enjoyable.

Although I'm not a fan of chain restaurants and I feel that high-end all-you-can-eat buffet is a bit of an oxymoron, I always seem to enjoy my meals at Texas De Brazil. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks, and I usually enjoy myself. The only reason I went there was because I had reservations with my wife to go to Bin 77 for Restaurant Week, but they turned us away at the door because they SAID their liquor license wouldn't let them allow minors.... We had a 6 month old.... I doubt she's much of a threat. While I do understand that this MAY be a policy under certain liquor licenses, I don't think it's the one they hold because they have a full restaurant menu and probably do a high enough percentage to require a full "BAR" license. I think they just didn't want a baby in there and used the license thing as a scapegoat. None the less, I was very happy with our deferment to Texas De Brazil and we will definitely return!

Went for the first time last week. It was okay, the lobster bisque was good, the salad bar was good, but everything at the bar is cold, which is fine for salad, but not for grilled zucchini and steamed asparagus. That made for a weird eating experience. The meats were good, but hit or miss. I held out for the sirloin and the filets, which were fantastic. I didn't see a menu, so the drinks and desserts are about $10 a piece. It was really loud too. It'd be okay for special occasions, but not much else. I could go to some place like Emeril's, spend the same amount, and have better food and not have to worry about a red and green disc on the table.

What kind of astronomically expensive, highly upscale restaurant does not offer free refills on soft drinks? I mean, really? Aside from that, Texas de Brazil is pretty good. This place really does have good food! There's an awesome salad bar with just about everything you can imagine, including spectacular lobster bisque. It seems way too easy to fill up on food from the salad bar. The meats here are really good, too, and there's really an interesting and delicious variety of meats that come around; the bacon-wrapped filet sticks out in my mind as being one of the best offerings. The desserts are not included in the price of the meal, but they are delicious and therefore very difficult to pass up. Your stomach will not leave this place empty, but your wallet sure will!

If you're a big meat eater, this is the place to be. Make sure you have save room for a very big meal, there is so much meat its unbelievable. This was our first time here, and the experience is awesome. The staff was so good, friendly, and quick. The food was delicious, just so much meat... Sign up for their club on their site, on birthdays (I also think for anniversaries) you get a free complimentary meal with a purchase of one meal at full price. Happy eating!

This place is simply amazing. The meal began at the 52 item salad bar, which was much more than just salad. I enjoyed a little bit of everything from there. Then, on to the meat. The gauchos came around with large skewers of meat offering it to us, many different cuts of meat, some rare at my request. I enjoyed three fillets, one with bacon, four rare lamb chops, and some sirloin. (Maybe I went a little meat-crazy.) The bananas were a great pallet cleanser between meats. The meal concluded with some of their liquor 43, which was amazing. (Sadly, I didn't indulge because I had to drive home.) I also had a slice of chocolate mousse cake, which was great but not as good as the meat. The atmosphere was awesome in our private room. The service was good, very attentive to how much water and wine I had, spectacular. I'll be going back when I can find a break in my diet. This place is excellent.

Gave me good poisoning. 'Nuff said. Oh, is that not enough said? Ok, I'll wax poetic. This is your standard, run of the mill Brazilian Steakhouse. If you've never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse, it will probably knock your socks off (don't worry, that is a standard reaction on your first experience at this type of restaurant. No need to be ashamed). Comparing Texas de Brazil to other similar places: - The salad bar is significantly smaller that Atlanta's Fogo de Chao, but still respectable. - The gents bringing around the meat are enthusiastic at first, but once they decide you might be getting full, they will slack off. - They didn't bother to bring a refill for our side dishes (mashed potatoes and delicious fried bananas) the entire meal. - The drinks and dessert are delicious... but frankly, who cares about anything but the meat at a place like this? - I had to repeatedly ask for my water to be refilled. - The scotch selection was embarrassingly small. But all that aside: I came home and was extremely sick (and no, not because I gorged myself on meat, I have more sense than that). Definitely won't be back to these guys in Baton Rouge, and probably won't bother visiting their locations in other cities, either.

First - it's not cheap but really is a good restaurant. The lobster bisque is very good and the meats on offer are varied and of great quality. Good salad bar with a very good selection of cheese. Most of the foods are a bit salty especially if you get the first slice off the meat. This was our first visit and we may return but it will not be a regular stopping place when in Baton Rouge. If you want a good steak - I would suggest going to a steak house. If you want a variety of meats ... this is the place. Very friendly staff that comes by the table often. On street parking, IF available, but there is public parking two blocks down.

It's an overpriced steakhouse, and I'm while I'm glad that the people of Baton Rouge has embraced it as it makes getting reservations for Ruth's Chris and Sullivan's easier, I can't, in good conscience, give this restaurant more than 2 stars. The salad bar at this establishment is excellent, encompassing a wide variety of quality tidbits and starters, and is the reason this restaurant even got 2 stars. The goat cheese is pungent, the smoked salmon is imported, and the sushi is fresh. On to the meat. If you value mass quantity, you will enjoy this restaurant. "Gauchos" come by patrons' tables bearing swords skewered with meat and patrons may request as much meat as they would like, to the point of Roman debauched excess. Unfortunately the meat is entirely between medium and well-done, and if the thought of perfectly good, restaurant quality beef being cooked until it most closely resembles the soles of a good pair of loafers doesn't horrify you, then ignore this review and go to Texas de Brazil with my blessings. If it does horrify you, well then, you understand why I have no desire to ever darken the doorway of this restaurant or of any of the other Texas de Brazil restaurants. Yes, you may request rare meat of your server. You may even get one or two pieces of meat that might have some mild bit of pink left in them that somehow escaped the Inferno that must engulf their stoves, but do not expect a beautiful piece of meat, dripping with color and juice, seared on the outside, red and cold on the inside. Texas de Brazil is incapable of this.

What can you say about this place, great food, great salad bar, great service. The only thing I would say, is to go early, our wait, was beyond what they quoted. 30min, took 50. Once we were seated, it was phenominal. If you like to eat, bring an appetite! It is a little loud, so great for family and friends, not so great if you are looking for an intimate dinner. The esthetic value and ambiance is a "10." I was so ful, trust me when I tell you will you not leave hungry! You are gonna pay for that "full feeeling," so bring a thick wallet!

Previous reviews still hold up. An incredible variety of meat, in an unending supply, all in a very trendy and social atmosphere. The meat isn't all though. I was floored by the salad bar selection. I'm not much of a salad person usually, but the sheer variety of what was available was superb. All sorts of veggies and a few soups, but what drew my attention was an entire side-bar of prepared cheeses, breads and crackers. The service was quite excellent. The gaucho's (I believe that's what the servers were called) are always prompt when they see a green card, and quite adept at handling the foods. Our table-server was very pleasant and sociable, and kept up with the crowd's drinks and side items very well; also gave excellent desert-liquor spiel that had us hooked and not regretting it. My experience was with 5 other mid-20's 'young professionals' as we were treated by a friend who'd just gotten a promotion, and it was the perfect atmosphere for cheerful conversation and dining. The price can be a bit prohibitive (I estimate with one to two drinks apiece, a couple shared deserts, and dinner for 6, our friend ended up shelling out in the $400 range), depending on what you're willing to spend at a meal, but as others have said, definately fast for a day leading up to your visit, and you can get more than your money's worth. The surrounding shopping-centric area is nicely suitable for a leisurely stroll to let all the food settle afterwards. I will definately be returning soon.

Dear New Orleans, Forgive me, for I have committed a treasonous act: I have eaten at a gluttonous, decadent chain restaurant that caters to overindulgence with quantity over quality, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Please don't be upset with me. While I do like supporting local businesses and value fresh local ingredients, every once in awhile it's nice to eat somewhere that has their service and food almost down to a science. I know I'm supposed to think all chain food is overpriced and mediocre on principle, but I have a little secret for you, my dearest NOLA: it can actually be pretty good. I know your mouth is probably wide open in shock and incredulity, but give me a chance to explain. While one can find delicious steaks and other meats where you are, it's terribly difficult to find them at reasonable prices, let alone at local places that don't try to "fancify" them in a million different ways. You're simply too temperamental sometimes NOLA! You see, every once in awhile it's comforting to get full on a smorgasbord of favorite familiars without all the unnecessary frills, and Texas de Brazil gives me every opportunity to do so. Let me give you some examples. The salad bar is a veritable motherload of fresh fare and delicious sides, including these favorites of mine: sliced summer tomatoes, asparagus, green beans, smoked salmon, salami, a wide assortment of cheeses, potatoes au gratin, and of course the lobster bisque. And that's just a quarter, maybe less, of what they have up there. Is everything at the bar locally produced? I have no clue, but what is so wrong with enjoying something that tastes delicious just the same? And then of course there's the meat. Texas de Brazil always gives me what I expect, which is more than I can say for some of your places, NOLA. I'm prepared for the fact that at Texas de Brazil I'm going to get complete meat coma from about 15 different cuts of beef, pork, chicken, and lamb. I know, I know, you may be asking me, why would I need to eat top round, sirloin, AND filet, or why would I need both leg of lamb AND lamb shank? Of course I don't need it, but it's nice to have the choice, isn't it? Which is something that none of your local meat restaurants can really offer me. And to top it all off, if the gauchos coming around with the meat skewers don't have the temperature that I like, they are more than accommodating in bringing out a whole new set of the same meats at my favorite medium-rare temperature. I would never be offered that same service at any of your local places, would I? Didn't think so. What's that you say? Service at a chain is too stiff, boring, and formulaic? Well let me counter by saying that Texas de Brazil's formula makes for a consistently friendly and pleasant service atmosphere. Everyone knows what they are doing and execute their jobs like cogs in a well-oiled machine. Is it less personable than many of your local places? Maybe. But it's also less pretentious too. There, I said it... I know what you're thinking. There's no way that Texas de Brazil could possibly be perfect. You're right, there were flaws here and there. The beef was generally too salty compared to the other meats. The gauchos would often ignore the little placards that we placed on red to let them know to stop coming to our table. But as an overall dining experience, it was really really good. Don't worry NOLA, I still love you and your local cuisine. I promise we'll still hang out all the time, but is it ok if I make friends with some chains too? Who knows, maybe you'll find that they're not as bad as you think as well. Most Sincerely Yours, Godwin P.S. Their carrot-cake is absurdly delicious.

READ IT!! This is my favorite restaurant by far, BUT they need to improve in some areas. The food here is great, my favorite is either the filet or top sirloin. They have a wonderful large salad bar and naturally you can't beat "all you can eat steak"! The main issue I have with this place is the wait time. The past 4 times we've gone there there is always a ridiculous wait time. We NEVER go without reservations ahead of time, but the last few times we went we had to literally wait for over an hour even with reservations. I just think that they should reward people that g there as much as we do somehow, if nothing more than by at least making sure we sit down on time. They WILL get your $ if you don't ask about drink refills! Cokes and now some of their tea isn't free to refill. First time we went we learned the hard way about soft drinks so after that we only got tea bc our waiter said it was free for a refill. Well, a few visits later and the TEA wasn't even free any more. Naturally didn't find out until the check arrived. And don't think it's just like $1 for a refill, no no no. Refills are usually $2+ just for cokes. Tea is even more expensive surprisingly. The waiters (not the meat servers) are always very friendly and knowledgeable. They've always given us great service. The servers with the meat are another story. While we've never had any real issues, and I'm sure they're just very busy, they always come off like they're ready to go off on a bender. Never smiling, never seem happy, just...."want some of this meat?!?!". Lastly, the price is a love/hate thing. For $50 and all the meat you want, it's great! But Ive been to places that have the exact same thing and only costs only $25. Many of my friends have said the same thing. BUT, still, great food, great waiters, mediocre servers, horrible wait times even with reservation, good location. That sums up this Texas de Brazil. OH, join their e-club thing. They send out GREAT deals!

I read every single review prior to going to this restaurant and went with an open mind. Boy, am I glad we did go! We are a family of 5 boys, ages 18, 16, 12, 10 & 5, at $50/pp, it is very pricey. The only reason I did not give this restaurant 5 stars is because I felt as though we missed out on our sizzling platter of filet mignon as you get from Ruth's Chris, which is why I took away the one star, other than this, it was absolutely delicious! If you are a "meat" eater, this is the place for you! The salad bar is much more than just an ordinary salad bar. There are pastas, salads of all kinds with all the trimmings, a cheese bar, a soup section, olive section, beets and other veggies, dessert salads like ambrosia and so much more! The salad bar gets 5 stars!!! The absolute best salad bar I have seen in a very long time. If you are a vegetarian you will not leave hungry that is for sure! At this restaurant, there is something for everyone. The next time we come, I think I will order dessert first because by the time dessert came we were all stuffed! However, we waited it out and everyone ordered a different dessert and we shared them all family style. The creme brulee is my favorite amongst all the desssert, absolute perfection, my compliments to the pastry chef! The Bannas Foster Cake is tied for 2nd place with the Cheesecake, which was almost like a Dulce Leche Cheesecake, absolutely a taste of heaven! The Chocolate cake was definitely a death by chocolate and if you are chocolate lover, you cannot go wrong with this cake, it is really delicious my son's favorite! The desserts we found out are all ala carte and pricey; they range from $8.95 and up and are NOT included in the $50/pp price, so be careful....the desserts were absolutely delicious which is why we did not mind paying seperately; however, I would have rather them be included in the price which is another reason I feel 4 stars instead of 5 stars. The food was absolutely delicious and none of received something we did not like. When you dine with this many and everyone enjoys their meals speak volumes!!! My favorite cut of meat was definitely the Filet Mignon & the Rack of Lamb, however, every single cut of meat we ate was delicious....we thoroughly enjoyed this meal and we will be back! I suggest you log on and add yourself to their email list. If you sign up, you can print out a coupon for buy one get one free for you birthday, do the same for your significant other's birthday and you get a 50% off coupon for your anniversary. You can print it before you head out to the restaurant, it is well worth it! I must add, the waiter was absolutely excellent as were the carvers, hostess, bus and wait staff. Everyone in this restaurant was definitely on top of their game. We did not want or need for anything throughout our entire dining experience. I would add the Parmesan Pork was also very good and the bacon wrapped Filet Mignon, a must! Next time we will try the award winning dessert & the Tiramisu! ENJOY!

The service is nice and the gauchos are all up in your face offering you meat, meat, and more meat the moment you sit down, even when I left my card on red. I always like going to churrascarias, even though I always get sick of the meat. Now, nobody goes to Brazilian steakhouses for the salad bar but I love love love antipasti and I was simply in heaven - 52 FRESH items. Definitely helped break up the monotony of the meat. The plantains they provide for the meal was yummy but my fiance thought it was way too sugary sweet (I have a big sweet tooth) to be a palate cleanser. The only thing deterring me from going to any churrascaria is the price. If you sign up for their e-club and provide them your birthday and anniversary date, they send 50% off coupons, along with an instant 25% off coupon. That's the only way I'll go back!

Meat coma for one. Yes, please. I am only disappointed in myself in that I cannot possibly eat as much I truly want to. This is a glorious experience not to be missed as you dine on the finest cuts of meat over and over and over. Enjoy the expansive salad garden full of different cheeses, crisp bacon, vegetables and more! The lobster bisque is pleasantly seasoned. Those plantains they give you are awesome too. Just go! Use a coupon too!

My wife thinks it's over the top, but I enjoy getting drunk on steak. The drinks are expensive but it is a great "pig out" spot for guys. It is an expensive night out, unless you are on their mailing list. They often send out coupons which make the experience somewhat affordable. Despite the darkened interior, it is a little too loud to be called an intimate restaurant. I love eating here, but take a designated driver, because you may get a DWS (Driving While Stuffed) when you leave.

Very pricey but if you don't mind the price, absoutely worth every penny! Just tell your waiter what you want and within a minute or two, you will have to fend off the "skewer carriers"! We had tried pretty much everything but hadn't seen the chicken yet. Our waiter asked if we had tried everything; we mentioned the chicken and then had to shoo them away!! Make reservations or you will have to wait. Unlike a previous reviewer, I did receive a certificate for one free meal with a paying meal on my birthday. After I cash in my 401k, Im going back!
