This is my favorite location. It may not be the spiffiest location, but the food is consistently good. The pizza is good but 'Calzone Wednesdays' are a good day for newbies to try them out. Make sure you allow lots of time if you come for lunch as they are super busy. The deals don't stop at Wednesday cause happy hour here means 2 for 1 everything served in the bar and 1/2 price apps. When the weather isn't scorching hot, the patio is a nice place to sit and enjoy your meal with a friend. I can't wait for October so I can grab a friend and enjoy my Happy APP hour outside again.

I've honestly never been on any day other than a Wednesday. THE CALZONES ARE 5.99! They're full sized and stuffed with your choice of a menu special or a build your own option. The Deluxe and the Muffaletta are my favorite so far. Don't feel bad about walking off with the cup..it's meant to be taken and they're pretty cool. TIP If you order your Calzone online THE DISCOUNT WILL NOT BE APPLIED! You will pay the full price as i'm told the online system doesn't have a way to apply it. The problem with being over charged for an online purchase was the only problem I've ever had but i had to deduct a star. That kept me away almost a year but once I got out of my feelings about my extra 5 dollars I've been coming back lol. So order in or call in to get the best deal and experience this quick and SUPER friendly service.

Cheap calzones on Wednesdays (5.99). Pretty much the only time I come here. They're good. I try a different flavor every time (losta choices). Keep the cup with your drink and walk out the door full for around $10. The wait staff is punky, plucky, friendly. Kinda like a Magazine St joint. I like it and will return on a Wednesday soon.

I like it. The pizza is good, the tomato basil soup is good and the service is friendly. Happy hour is from three till six. Buy one beer get one free and half priced appetizers. Try the Krewe flatbread.

Went in for a meal after church and was quite disappointed to say the least. Ordered the sweep the floor cheese sticks @ $8.99 and it was the equivalent to a very thin crust, sparsely covered meat lovers pizza. Extremely greasy and majorly overpriced. Wasn't quite ready to throw in the towel, so I ordered an entrée, going with the veggie lasagna @ $11.99 for a small portion, did not come with salad or side so I ordered a half Caesar salad @ $5.50. When my food arrived, I lit into the veggie lasagna and again...extremely disappointed. It was basically a square of 4x4 piece of lasagna (or noodles with red sauce, no real Italian flavor) with huge pieces of mushrooms, onions, green bell peppers and tomatoes thrown on top with cheap mozzarella and feta and partially baked. Just wrong... My total meal ended up being $30+. Won't be returning anytime soon.

Just received the worst service imaginable at Rotolo's on Government tonight. They got my order incorrect, when I called and to tell them I was told I was lying and that the manager was not in the business of giving away free food. When I brought it back to them to prove I was not, in fact, lying he dug his bare hands into my calzone and confirmed that I was not lying. Then said I would have to wait there for them to bake another (which would take 10 minutes) and they would not either give me any of my money back nor give me the correct order for free even though I had spent the last 20 minutes trying to even get them to believe that they messed up my order. Then the manager proceeded to loud cap me and say multiple times for me to never come back. When I got back to my car I realized I couldn't even eat the messed up order that I got because he touched the whole thing with his grimy hands so I went back in and ended up getting my money back for the whole order. So now, 45 minutes later, I am starving, I have no food, I have been called a liar and have been attempted to be embarrassed at Rotolo's by the manager because he could not own the fact that his restaurant messed up and he refused to make it right. And on top of that I told him I had never even complained about the two calzone's I had with plastic in them and he said I was lying about that too. When I showed him the picture he said that is was not plastic in the picture, but had no disagree about it being a Rotolo's calzone in the corner. I would include the photo but I can't on yelp. I usually would never post a rant like this but I want Rotolo's to know that how they treat their customers, or at least, how Everett at the Rotolo's on Government does not know how to treat their customers.

Not a bad place. The service was good. The bar tender, some other guests, and I watched the Grammy awards. (The Beach Boys weren't too bad.) The pizza was good. I had a "Sweep the Floor" pizza, which I would recommend. Although, it was a little steep on the wallet. I would recommend coming for one of their lunch specials. I'll be back.

I love Pizza and Rotolo's has some of the best in town. To give you an idea of my pizza taste, which is unique from what I hear: I like: Hungry Howies WoodFire Little Ceasars Dislike: D'angelo's (Just their Pizza, I like other stuff) Pizza Hut They serve very large serving and it's good value. I think I may go get some tonight...

Rotolos gets points for originality among Baton Rouge pizza joints. I stopped in to get a take out order tonight and it was my first visit to the place that I recall. Service is generously described as casual and waitress possessed an unfortunate body piercing that always gets an establishment demerits. But the service was quick and the order was correct, albeit I was basically the only person there. I must say, their Muffaletta pizza is a great idea, coming from a pizza place based in New Orleans it makes a lot of sense. It's really quite terrific. The pizza dough is too thick for my taste and the sauce a bit sweet. And, the meats used on the Muffaletta pizza are a limited example of what one might find on a true Mufflaletta sandwich. But the olive salad mix on top is genius and delicious so give them some credit. My kids devoured it at home, and frankly so did I. With the super-addictive Fleur de Lis pizza within sight of Rotolo's, it's hard to say when I'll be back, but I'm sure I will. They're two different pizzerias altogether, with different expectations for each.

I've gone here and gotten take out from here with my husband multiple times because it's nearby and they have 2 for 1 calzone specials one night a week. The pizza is passable but the large is not very large. The calzones are not very good. Oh, Baton Rouge. Sigh. Yep, that's about it.

Went for $4.99 calzones today. Good calzone, service was terrible. She actually admitted to completely forgetting about us twice. We sat outside, it had rained that day and the gutter kept dripping onto our table. Not a huge thing, just look out for it. The calzone was not the best, was not the worst, but it cost $4.99. Pitcher of beer $7. Cheap food, cheap drinks. Anyway, i'll probably be back on a Wednesday, but I won't sit in that waitres's section again. Don't get me wrong, I still tipped her standard 20%, but it's like Bush said, "fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me, you can't get fooled again?"

Rotolo's is in an expansionary phase around Baton Rouge and South Louisiana. Overall, it is a pretty good place--the best appetizer, in my opinion, is the Chalmette Cheese Stix, which are like regular cheese sticks you would get in a pizzeria only with feta cheese and hot sauce, too. The pizza is also very good and the calzones. The only thing that is weak with Rotolo's are their Italian dishes, which have the taste and feel of high school cafeteria food. Stick to the pizza, bread or cheese sticks, or calzones, and you will be fine; otherwise, it may be a disappointing experience.

My wife and I love Rotolos! The pizza is as good as it gets. Decent draft beer selection.
