I've been here twice due to the high reviews I see on here and from friends. Both times I've eaten here I was a little underwhelmed. I thought the overall experience was average both times. The food was pretty good, but nothing I would go out of my way for. However, the bloody mason was absolutely delicious. Definitely worth the hype there. Our server was very nice, however, she was not very knowledgeable about a couple of things on the menu (namely the raw oysters). Four stars for the bloody mason

I really do not understand the hype about this place. The only good thing is the brunch. However, people literally camp out to eat it! So there's no use even trying to get a table! On an ordinary night, it's loud, busy, stressful and for what!? Overpriced, over-seasoned food that is incredibly average. They won best Bloody Mary in America... HA! My boyfriend makes a better Bloody Mary! The only cool thing is that you can customize your Bloody Mary. And what is the decor? Your mom and dads unfinished basement!? I mean come on! If you want average, overpriced food this is the place for you.

Why haven't I heard of this place sooner? Avoid weekend lunch times or you might be driving around the parking lot for ten minutes waiting for a parking spot but its worth it! Clears out around 2 on Saturdays. Mike was our server and he was great! Will ask for him again. Cajun breakfast was the best thing we ordered, But everything we ordered was delicious! Can't wait to go back and try dinner food. The only reason I take a star away is bc they need a bigger parking lot and building.

The grilled reddish was unreal. The shrimp on top were amazing too. Plus, the bartender, Chris, was one of the best I've had in some time. It's a must in BR!

This place was very good came in around 2pm, brunch is not available all day. So for lunch we had a shrimp burger w/potato salad it was amazing, my girl at the suggestion of Stephanie had half a roasted chicken w/veggies and green beans the green beans where a bit smothered in either to much butter or to much salt but since the steam veggies had no sodium just steamed it was actually really good, the chicken was nice and juicy. Jason and Stephanie where very attentive and polite. We will definitely be coming back.

Average food quality, bad service. My server stopped by once to take my order and I never saw her again. I was looking for a good Baton Rouge meal and I'm very disappointed. I won't be coming back.

I like this place. From start to finish, the staff was very polite and the service was good. I had their shrimp burger and it was very good. My only qualm was the use of canned jalepenos instead of fresh, but other than that, it was awesome. I tasted my friends french fries; they were well seasoned. (I could go on a rant about how hard it is to find good fries.) Overall, I like the feel to the place. It's nice and the people are rightfully proud of their food.

Love the burgers!! Masons is my go to place and I always get the best food and service. Will be going for my birthday.

I returned back to Louisiana from deployment, my first . The food was really great. It's been so long ago that I don't really remember what exactly i had, but our party of four was very pleased. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I love this place. Masons has become our default restaurant now that we moved to BR. I'd recommend something, but I like it all, so yeah get whatever and you'll be happy I guarantee.

Favorite place in Baton Rouge! They make their food from scratch and you can tell. The weekend brunch is fantastic and we also love wing night. Their prices are reasonable and you get what you pay for. A definite winner.

To preface: I've only been for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Get the Cajun breakfast, and you may want to add some Canadian bacon along with it-- great! The bottomless mimosas are great, too. A suggestion: if you don't want to wait about 1hr-- try going on Saturday.

Love, love, love Mason's Grill! Excellent food, excellent service! The spinach & artichoke dip is too die for especially when adding the optional lump crabmeat. The buttery, garlicky French bread croutons served with it are the perfect accompaniment. The Cajun shrimp Burger is totally amazing with its jalepeno-studded beef Patty and plump, juicy shrimp. Their onion rings are the best! Sweet onions with a perfectly seasoned batter fried to a golden brown crisp. Their brunch on Saturdays & Sundays is soul-satisfying. I don't think there's anything negative I can say about Mason's. They are one of the only things I miss about living in B.R.

AMAZING!!! Can't wait to go back one day!! I'm not from Baton Rouge so I scoured yelp looking for a good place to go eat. The burgers were the best I have ever had in my life!! Ordered wine and regretted it immediatly because the glasses were so small, should have gone for the build your own bloody mary. Also the sweet potato fries were excellent!

  • Eric L.

Simply delicious... no other description fits this place. The only way to truly describe a meal here is a sound. You know that sound of pure blissful joy you make when you bite into something so delicious it brings you into rapture? Yes, that one. That is how I would describe this place. Brunch is the best because you can order everything! Just go... it will change your life.

Good southern food in nice sized portions. The service was fast as well. No complaints here! I'll be going back the next time I am back in BR, especially since I have heard, but not experienced, wonderful things about their brunch.

I had heard about their Cajun Shrimp Burger through the Food Network and then I had heard about their weekend brunches. So I figured I had to check it out. My friend and I went for their Sunday brunch. I have to say the bottomless champagne and $1 off make your own Bloody Marys are an awesome deal. I had the eggs and crabcakes (an eggs benedict on crabcakes) and she had the eggs florentine. Both were delicious! I will definitely be going again!

I've lived in Baton Rouge for two years now, only about 3 miles away from this place, and I have no explanation as to why it's taken me so long to eat here. Perhaps it's "off the beaten path" location had something to do with it. I can tell you, however, that boy have I been missing out! What first brought me here was a rumor that this place served a good burger. I had been largely disappointed in burgers thus far in BR and wasn't ready to give up on my quest. I ordered a regular old hamburger and fries for a carry-out lunch one day and let me tell you....THIS IS IT! Mason's Grill has the best burger in Baton Rouge! Fresh meat cooked to order, of course, with a good charred taste to it, dressed with the usual suspects (lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and mustard) and served on a Hawaiian sweet roll. Admittedly, I would have been a little apprehensive if I would've known about the sweet roll ahead of time, but this works, my friends. After eating there, I came to find out that Mason's Cajun Shrimp Burger was featured in the Food Network magazine in June 2009 as the best burger in the state of Louisiana. I don't eat seafood, but the plain old burger at Mason's is better than anybody else's. I order it for carry-out about once a week. We've since dined in a few times, and as far as standard local pub cuisine goes, this is as good as it gets. The menu is pretty simple and straight-forward, plus all of their servers, hosts, and bartenders are super nice and friendly. Their kids entrees all include a Kleinpeter Ice Cream Sundae for dessert, which my 2 year old loves. They also do a fantastic weekend brunch featuring bottomless glasses of champagne. Eat at Mason's. They do it right and deserve the business.

I went today and I can't wait to go back. In fact my to go box is beckoning me from the fridge. Go for brunch and everything in between. At brunch they have a breakfast burger. It consists of : Homemade Sausage patty, crispy bacon, sweet/sourdough grilled bun, egg, char-grilled burger patty, another egg, lettuce, tomato. It is stabbed like a sacrificial lamb thru the top with a huge steak knife to keep it together (it also breaks the egg yolks which ooze all over the burger) Food network named the shrimp creole burger here the "best burger in Louisiana" IT IS ALSO AWESOME. Guess what?! They were right but the best burger in the WORLD is the breakfast burger here. Side note: Bottomless champagne $3.95. yes, please. Second side note: Bloody Masons with EFFEN Cucumber vodka are the best Bloody's I have ever had and I am a connoisseur of Bloodys. They are $ off for brunch. The chef/owner and his wife are on site and that is why everything is so great. Keep up the good work. I love you Mason's Grill. I can't wait to come back to Baton Rouge and dine here again!

One of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge, especially for breakfast. Their seafood omelet and croissant sandwiches are awesome! At lunchtime try the Porker Po-Boy on a bun instead of french bread. I've never had a bad meal here.

We have only gone during Sunday brunches when we are in town and always good and have a good time. Sundays are getting significantly more crowded each time we come. But they accommodate large groups well, just make a reservation. Food is excellent and portions feed a small city. Food is rich, which is why we like it here. Prices very reasonable for what you get. Recommendation: Seafood benedict au gratin!

Mason's has some pretty awesome burgers. As I'm sure you've seen in a bunch of other reviews the Shrimp Cajun burger was actually featured on food network. I personally do not particularly care for it. For me the shrimp overpowers the taste of the burger. Their other burgers though, are absolutely excellent. They put their burgers on a Hawaiian sweet bun and it is awesome. I've also got their grilled chicken a bunch of times with their sautéed green beans. If you're looking for something lighter its a great choice. I came here for brunch once and ordered the chicken fried steak. It was absolutely huge in portion and I only ate about a third of it. Several of my friends swear by their wings, but I have not had them yet. The only I've had from Mason's that did not impress me was their ribs. I highly recommend this place though. On certain days and times it can get very packed and parking can become a problem though.

I let this place eke out a 3 star rating based on the burger, but after a second visit I've gotta revise to two stars. The second time around I ordered the Bayou Shrimp (stuffed shrimp topped with crab and crawfish etouffee over rice) with a side of green beans. The crawfish was fishy and gritty and the green beans were limp and flavorless (I'd lay money they came from a can). There were some good flavors in the shrimp and sauce, but I couldn't get over the grittiness. Everyone else at the table was pretty displeased with their food as well (a friend who got the full rack of ribs was able to eat less than half the serving because so much of it was gristle and fat instead of meat). In addition I ordered a couple of drinks: a happy hour rum and coke that tasted like the rum had been cut with water, and a strawberry martini that was supposed to be gin based but really just tasted like rot-gut vodka. If you go here, stick with the burgers and soft drinks.

Amazing! We've been here a couple of times for brunch on Sundays. The parking can be interesting, and the wait a bit long, but it is 100% worth it! We've had various things on the menu and all were fantastic. Service is awesome as well. If you haven't already give this place a chance. You won't be worry!

Coming from New Orleans and having a plethora of brunch restaurants, it's hard to write a review about brunch at Mason's Grill....in Baton Rouge....without being biased. My effort to be fair in my rating, I think, earns an A. The food is good no doubt above average but there really isn't anything special done here. I certainly wouldn't drive to BR just to eat brunch here. I was simply driving through BR on my way to Shreveport and a friend requested my presence for brunch. I obliged because I love new brunch spots. Just three stars. I become leery when a restaurant presents a menu with a large and wide array of items. I often times make the prejudice that higher quantity less quality and vice versa. However, quality didn't suffer. Just nothing special. If I lived in BR, I'd definitely go back.

This place is fantastic! We went on vacation to New Orleans and Baton Rouge and this was only restaurant that we ate at TWICE! The servers were very friendly and quick. The crab benedict is sooo delicious! And their 'hashbrowns' are really just thin sliced potatoes with the skin on, but you can add cheese, bacon, whatever you want- awesome! My husband tried the Cajun Shrimp Burger the following day and said it was one of the best burgers he ever had. He also loved their onion rings. The make your own bloody marys are reasonable and really, really good with lots of options to chose from. And...hello...$3.95 all you can drink champagne on Saturdays and Sunday? (Maybe that's why we went on both days, ha!)

Things to know: You can call ahead seating or you can dine at the bar. We went for a Sunday brunch, we just beat the big post-church crowd in. Man, what a hopping joint. There was a crush of customers, but Masons has a fantastic and attentive staff. It was a quick turn-around on food order. Really, there were a lot of people in that building, but it was a fun environment and people seemed to be really enjoying their bottomless mimosas.

Had the good fortune to pick this place to stop for breakfast after an early departure from New Orleans. I had the Sunday morning special - The Cajun Pulled-Pork Omelette - OUT-bleeping-STANDING! I wanted to hug the cook! The hash browns were no ordinary hash browns - the menu said they were Mike's World Famous recipe - and they were delicious - cooked up crispy and not greasy at all! I also had a sweet potato pancake on the side - it was so good I may never eat a buttermilk pancake again! Even if the food had not been as fantastic as it was, this place would deserve 5 stars just for the customer service - their staff is the best. Service was quick, friendly, and accurate. Did I mention friendly? I know it sounds cliched, but they treat you like you are the most important person in the world. I am so glad I discovered this place - it will definitely be a stop on my future trips from Houston to New Orleans.

There's something to be said about going to restaurant for the first time in the company of "regulars." The wait (45mins) was not shorter for us, but getting served complimentary mimosas while we waited was a nice touch that made the wait a little more bearable. There is nothing special in this restaurant by looking at the menu. In fact, the offerings are quite ordinary for the most part. The portions are not particularly big and the prices are not particularly low. What makes this place special is how things are prepared and how they are served. The crab cakes Benedict are superb. Crabby and seasoned perfectly. The poached eggs were cooked just right and the Hollandaise sauce was rich, flavorful and had a nice lemon bite to it. Their seafood au gratin is also quite good. They are known for their burgers for good reason. The Cajun shrimp burger is decadent. This is a great family restaurant.

First of all it could be 5 stars for our brunch, and we will be back. Pros: The build-your-own Bloody Mason was the best Bloody Mary that I've had. I had seafood crepes, which were loaded with good lumps of crabmeat and lots of shrimp. The cheese and sauce weren't too heavy and it tasted great with the green onions and mushrooms. I had hashbrowns as my side, which were cooked with green onions, as well and they tasted great. GF had crabmeat benedict, with generous portions of crab, which were tasty, as was the mushroom and green onion hollandaise sauce. She also had buttermilk pancakes with preserved strawberries on top and whipped cream on the side. Cons: The biggest disappointment was that our food was clearly finished a long time before it was served to us. We waited 50 minutes for the food, and I think it was done @ the 30 minute mark. The food was lukewarm at best, and GF's poached eggs in her crabmeat benedict clearly sat out too long to where the egg yolk became overcooked. The waitress frequently asked if we wanted additions to our meal and kept trying to sell us things during the wait. I don't mind if you advertise a drink and side that you like, but the advertising got to a point where it did get a little old. Anyways I do recommend coming here for brunch... just make sure that your waitress brings you your food on time.

I wish I could give 2.5 stars. Been here several times and I will go back because of the close proximity to my home...had a Cajun ribeye, house salad, sautéed green beans, and baked potato. The salad, wilted mixed leafy greens one slice of cucumber, two slices of red onion, and some shredded carrots. I would have much rather had a cheaper made salad of mixed romaine and iceberg and a couple grape tomatoes. Would have been much better salad and actually cheaper to make. The steak was tasty for an obviously frozen piece of meat. The potato was tiny but ok. The skin was very hard and off-putting but the inside was good. The green beans, I was expecting fresh sautéed green beans to be fresh. They were frozen French cut green beans. They were sautéed properly, kind of...they were al dente but the cooks obviously need training on sauté technique. They tasted of burnt oil. Now, when you sauté, the pan and oil must be hot. Different from a flambé, like banana foster, you do not want it so hot it flames! When oil flames, it means the oil I on fire which tastes like sh!t. They may have made the very typical mistake when you get this flavor by having too much oil in the pan. The difference between this and a flambé, you want the alcohol to flame to burn off all the alcohol content leaving the sugars behind in the dish. Big difference between these two! The old lady's meal same salad...crap. Her entree the monnet platter, she really enjoyed. They need to put some salt into their recipes too... Service was usual, the staff focus on the bar because it is always full and that is obviously where they make their money. Like I said, I have been here several times and will return.

Whenever I think of brunch in Baton Rouge, Mason's Grill immediately comes to mind. This place has a multitude of selections for Sunday brunch, with my favorite being the Acadiana Benedict (Eggs Benedict topped with Crawfish Etouffee). The service has always been very good. The only drawback is that sometimes it can take a while for the food to come out, but hey, it's certainly worth it. This place, all in all, is absolutely fantastic. Just be prepared to wait for a little while if you go here for Sunday brunch.

Was told to eat here because of their burger that was rated as the "Best Burger in Louisiana" by Food Network. It's actually the Cajun Shrimp Burger that has the rating. I did order the BBQ Burger. MUCH bigger than I anticipated and also included ham on it. Probably the best burger I've eaten so far since I've been in Louisiana. Would definitely recommend Mason's Grill.

I chose this place for my graduation dinner in December...couldn't have chosen a better place! Everyone loved it! It was a Friday during lunch so they had the all you can eat catfish for only $9.95. My aunt still talks about how much she enjoyed it! I had the Mason's plate which is three stuffed shrimp covered in crawfish etouffee... delicious and all lunch plates are under $10! I've been back a few more times and tried the cajun shrimp burger which is really great! This is a great place for seafood and burgers!

Another Baton Rouge success story. All the fuss is true. This was our second visit. We have been in the past for a nice and quiet brunch that blew us away. So this round we wanted to know about the hype of evening atmosphere and awesome steak. It was one of the best charbroiled steaks ever. I mean perfect medium perfection. I wanted to lick my plate after to my surprise I finished the whole 14 oz ribeye by myself. Save one but for my hubby. I was very please with the service this round. It is a southern must!!

I can only give it three stars because I haven't had a chance to sample more of the menu, but I REALLY enjoyed my meal tonight. After reading many inconsistent reviews about the place I decided to give it a shot. The BBQ Burger was delicious...like unabashed finger licking tasty. Check this: 1/2lb beef patty, racked with jack and cheddar cheeses, layered with jalapeno's, BBQ sauce, pulled pork, and green onions. I'm a big BBQ nut and the sauce was great. Flavorful, but not overpowering, simultaneously sets the tone for the whole sandwich. The pulled pork was really tender, and just melted along with the rest of the components, so there was no disharmony among the textures. My only, and this is purely nit-picking, only complaint was that there was sooo much BBQ that it threwvoff some of the balance of the burger. By the end of it I was scooping most of it up with my fork! However, this is such a minor inconvenience in comparison to the delight of the overall experience that it almost feels like bad form to mention it. The sweet potato fries were a good accompaniment, but nothing to write home about. Final verdict? I will definitely be back to sample more, and hopefully add another star!

Boozy Brunch...I'm in there! This is a frequent Sunday stop when I'm in town to visit my friends. We absolutely love it here. Foods always on point, sweet potato pancakes are bomb.com ....a must have when I'm here. And I gotta order a double shot of Grand Marnier to amp those mimosas up. Right?! Service is cool, sometimes a wait. Definitely call ahead (they'll add you to the list)...slows down your wait time tremendously! They even cleaned up the ladies room, which does wonders for not trying to "go" when you've had ample amounts of champagne.

Mason Grill....best known for their award winning Bloody Mary and also do their fabulous brunch. It was my first time, and I had to see it with my own eyes what this hype was all about! If you plan to attend their weekend brunch, plan to come early! We got there at 11:30am, and the wait was 1.5-2 hrs wait. Thank goodness we saw a group of friends that have already when waiting and join them! We enjoyed a couple rounds of delicious bottomless Mimosa while we continue to wait for our table. The bartender was attentive and continue to keep our flutes filled, and also the other 20+ patrons at the bar! It help that my friends are a group of gorgeous hotties. ^_~ lol When we finally got our tables, the waiter was quick to bring another full bottle of "champagne"/sparkling wine/bubblies and orange juice ( FYI: you can't call it champagne unless it came from Champagne, France). I was already on my 3rd mimosa, so I opted out of ordering the Bloody Mary. My vegan friend ordered one...that means no review of the beef straw nor the bacon their Bloody Mary is famous for! :( The Bloody Mary was quite good. Just enough spice and acidic/tangy enough to wake up my taste blood. I got the chance to taste a bit of all my friends food. Their hashbrown was mainly semi-thin sliced potatoes that could use a bit more seasoning. Although I ordered the Seafood Autin Benedict; the crab cake Benedict would have to be my favorite of all the dishes. The seafood Autin Benedict was a creamy shrimp sauce over English muffins and Canadian bacon. It was lacking flavor for me. The chicken and waffle sounded amazing to my other friend, but she was disappointed that the waffle wasn't crispy (under toasted). The chicken was crispy and taste was 3/5 stars. But anything drizzle with maple syrup is a winner, right? Winner winner, chicken and waffle dinner! Haha... Definitely upgrade your pancakes to an order of sweet potato pancakes! The atmosphere was nice. Since we were seated inside near the bar, we didn't get the nice white clothe tables. The servers/runners/bartenders were attentive. The brunch price is reasonable. I will like to come back and try out other dishes.

Masons grill has never let me down. If you've never tried their fried mushrooms then you are missing out. No place in town can match it. And the burger is good as it gets. The place is very noisy due to sound bouncing off concrete ceiling and plastered walls. Some sound absorbing material on the walls would really help. But the food quality is outstanding. The service is always excellent. Our server was Britton. She was pleasant, had a pretty smile, and made sure we were taken care of. Thanks Britton.

I went here for a late brunch yesterday. Holy packed... This place was extremely busy for a Sunday brunch around 1. And extremely loud. But that's ok. I love how they do their mimosas. 4$ bottomless. They give you champagne & you get to add the orange juice. The only thing I didn't like was when we got our table, our waiter brought us the champagne bottle to keep on our table... Without putting it in anything to keep it cold. We got an appetizer that was like a grit cake, it was so buttery & good. For my main dish I got the crab Benedict. Too much hollandaise & cheese for me. I don't like to search through things on top of my egg to make sure the yolk broke when I cut into it. If I go back I will obviously not get the same thing again

After be recommended I Wasn't pleased at all - ordered a Cajun shrimp burger - presentation of food was sloppy - what I thought was a Cajun sauce was cheese with shrimp mixed in some kind of way, didn't taste great at all only ate a fourth of it, bathroom wasn't cleaned had a urine stench, sweet tea was in an open mug by a door to the outside portion of the restaurant that servers kept going in and coming out of- place was drab and not the cleanest restaurant I've visited - safe to say I will not be returning or recommending.

the first Cajun shrimp burger I got from there was delicious....HOWEVER, it has gone extremely down hill. I have had a few since then and my order is consistently wrong and the one I just got to go today was not only way undercooked but had no jalepenos in the cheese and shrimp mix like there is suppose to be. The bun was also extremely dry like it had been sitting out. I asked for no onion, no mayo or mustard and none of that was on there but the sweet potato fries tasted like onion!? Was hoping that the burgers I had gotten recently that were wrong was just a fluke, but unfortunately there is no consistency and they keep getting worse and worse...YUK!

Wow did this place pack a punch for Easter. VERY BUSY yet friendly and pretty organized. They have a lot of drink specials. My seafood omelette was pretty good but not the best I've ever had. The jalapeno grit cake was yummy. The service from the bartenders was why I added one star up to four. They stayed in top of everything. I would definitely return here but not before exploring some of the other eats in Baton Rouge.

Ate at masons this morning for brunch, caught the end of the morning rush by arriving at noon. Waited only about 10 minute this time; I have waited up to an hour before. The place is always so packed! Had the bacon mason Bloody Mary with bacon vodka, a beef straw and bacon rim salt. also had a bacon slice in it- ordered the breakfast burger- one of the best things I've ever had! Two fried eggs, a sausage patty and a burger with cheese, lettuce, and condiments on a fresh sweet white bun. So delicious! My fave local place for sat/sun brunch. They also have a great happy hour and 50 cent wings on Thursday. Love masons!!!

I grew up in BR and visit my family often but I guess I didn't realize how limited the brunch options are. Based on Yelp reviews I drove across town to Mason's Grill and waited over an hour for what I was hoping would be an awesome Sunday brunch. The Saints were playing so the bar area was jam packed when we were seated. The enviornment was rowdy bar and grill versus family brunch. Either way I was up for watching some football so I ordered the Bloody Mary and a crawfish omelete with a side of morning potatoes. The drinks are expensive ($10 each) but they're seasoned well and loaded w/veggies. The omlete was a mess. It had tons of crawfish but there was no flavor and the sauce that was drizzed on it only seemed to make matters worse. I picked out the crawfish and left the rest. The potatoes were defintely frozen, processed and flavorless. I would be willing to go back to have drinks and watch sports but that's about it.

Have eaten here periodically throughout the years and it's been pretty decent but I've never really been wowed here. Best thing about it is the bar but I haven't attended one of their brunches. Just not my thing. My wife and I went two nights ago and both went away thinking 'wow, they sure have gone downhill'. We were served our meal before we could hardly touch our salad. I had the stuffed shrimp that was undercooked and the batter didn't stick to the shrimp. The stuffing was just that with virtually no seafood and very undercooked. My wife had the same problem with her fried oysters and shrimp. Also you could tell the grease was old and needed changing. Wasn't all bad: the fries which made up most of the plate were pretty good but the frozen hush puppies were very so so. The server was pretty good and I tipped generously knowing he didn't cook the food. This is my second mediocre experience in a row at Masons and you know they say about three strikes. C'mon Mason's, get back in the game so we can justify visiting again!

My favorite spot in Baton Rouge to have boozy brunch with friends... Masons has much to offer so it's easy to please a large bunch. The four dollars and some change bottomless mimosas and amazing Bloody Mary's are sure to keep you coming back. On this occasion I chose to get the chicken and waffles which is always amazing... I'm glad they decided to keep it on the menu. Because they have such good brunch prices and items, sometimes there's a lengthy wait for a table. But be sure to keep your eye out for the bar area because its first come first serve. And the bonus is that you get to get your drink a little quicker!

I've visited this joint more than 10 times. I've not been disappointed yet. The $4 bottomless champagne is worth the trip alone. People also rave about the bloody Mary's but I don't drink them so I've not ever tried it. So for the food, you must try the sweet potato pancakes. They are by far one of my favs from the menu. There is also this seafood sauce that randomly shows up on a few meals.... If you have something with seafood chances are you should add it. It's great over the seafood or steak omelette. The fries seafood is always a winner as well. And don't forget to add a cup of gumbo with your meal. Best way to start! But did I mention $4 unlimited champagne??? Lol great reasturant, always great service, and awesome atmosphere!

Amazing burgers, outstanding Bloody Mary's, and the sweet potato pancakes are out of this world! Go for brunch on Sunday but be prepared to wait, it's a popular place cuz it's so good!

My husband and I first learned of Mason's Grill when it came out on the Food Network and of course during our trip to NOLA my husband and I had to make a quick trip to Baton Rouge and check them out. On the show Mason's featured specialty dish was: Cajun Shrimp Burger (surf-and-turf burger, on a sourdough bun, has a sautéed, jalapeno-stuffed patty that is blanketed with even more jalapeños, Gulf shrimp and a half-cup of jack cheese) Read more at: foodnetwork.com/restaura… Mason's is in somewhat of an obscure location. It's almost out of place in a side street off the main road. We were there during a weekday right after lunch time so luckily it wasn't very busy. We were warmly greeted and quickly sat. Our server (and I can't remember his name...darn!!) was super sweet. He answered all of my husband questions about their appearance on the show as well as other food related questions. He was very friendly, courteous and tended very well to us. We ended up ordering the surf-n-turf burger for me and sirloin with veggies for him. The burger was good though personally it had a bit too much cheese and I had to order extra jalapeños. I have a particularly high tolerance for hot (spicy) food and the jalapeños they used in the burger were not enough for me. Though I think for the average person it would have been pretty spicy (so I won't hold that against them). The shrimp were very fresh and quite sweet not to mention plentiful and the meet was perfectly cooked (medium rare). My husband liked his sirloin but didn't think it was anything out of this world. The vegetable are well cooked and retained a bit of crunchiness which he loves. Now, it wasn't until I saw another table getting their drinks when I saw the most amazing drink going past my table. When I inquired, I was told that their Bloody Mary's had been voted "Thrillist's America's Best Bloody Mary." Well like a good Bloody Mary just as much as the table next to us...so I had to have have. It came with a bunch of goodies like 2-3 strips of bacon, a jerky stick with a hole through it so you could use it as a straw, okra, olives, cocktail onions and more. I must say I enjoyed the bloody Mary but sadly it wasn't the best one I've ever had. But, I will put it up in my top 5. And for the more adventures at heart, Mason's also has a build-your own bloody Mary with a good variety of vodkas, gin's and tequilas along with your choice of spices, garnishes and "fire" options. I'd say if you're in the Baton Rouge area give Mason's a try.

Food is always great, but the parking is terrible if going for brunch. If I don't make it by 9:30 am for brunch, I'm not going because it's impossible to get a parking spot.

I gotta say, not impressed. I was excited to try the brunch since it's supposed to be amazing but it didn't impress me at all. I got the crab cake eggs benedict. They were small but fine...nothing special. I got the hashbrowns as my side and it seemed they wanted to fill you up with the potatos. They weren't even that flavorful. Won't be back for brunch. Not a terrible experience, but just not worth it.

I gave this place 5 stars for many reasons.. One begin the fact that it's only a two second drive from my house and that I'm still tipsy writing this so the drinks are that good. I came with my bae for brunch and we tried the infamous shrimp Burgers.. And they were juicy and full of shrimp. A new experience for this mid western gal. Also, bottomless champagne for only 4.95 Is a major plus... I also tried the bourbon mixed drink The Guillotine .. Mixed and shaked to get your party started! The service was splendid our waitress kept out glasses full and made sure we were ok at all times. Also, I ran into a lot of friends.. Now I see where they've been hiding!!!!!!!

5 stars plus! Not from the area and just passing through saw the place and stopped with family for a LATE lunch. Service was excellent, onion rings and fried mushrooms are perfection. The BBQ Burger was on point. Enjoyed everything! Bathrooms were clean as well!

Let me start by saying that Mason's used to be one of my family's favorite places to eat in Baton Rouge. My wife and I would eat here on a regular basis (up to once a week) for years. We loved the potato skins, mushroom burger and Bloody Mary's - but about a year ago something started to change and the food and service started going down hill. The food and Bloody Mary's were not as good, the restaurant started looking dirty, and (I hate to say it) the staff too. Did ownership or management change? I don't know. It has been almost a year, and we decided to give it another chance today. Sadly, it has gotten even worse. First, when we entered the restaurant a very unfriendly hostess barely looked at us and only said "follow me". No "Hello!", no "Welcome to Mason's", no "how many are in your party?". No smile. We were then taken to a table in the back and as we walked into the bar area I felt like the entire place had not been cleaned in months. The floors were dirty, the table was dirty, and even the menu was dirty! As we looked around the dining room and bar area - the wait staff has also completely changed to a long-haired, bearded, tattooed group that was not friendly at all. Please know, I am not opposed to long-hair, beards or tattoos, but could they at least smile! I am sorry to say Mason's has a problem and has to clean things up. Maybe there are new owners or managers that want to change the restaurant to more of a biker bar, but this is no longer a clean, family friendly restaurant. There are many other restaurants in Baton Rouge to go to and get a good meal with friendly service. In fact, we left and had a great meal and experience somewhere else.

mMm mMm good! Many yelpers come here for brunch but we went for dinner. My friend has recommended Mason's grill a couple times but I never really got around to trying it out. The mister loves to eat this type of food and we always ended up trying other places around here. I should've listened to my friend the first time around! I absolutely love the environment! From the minute you walk in you're greeted warmly and not to mention our server. She was the sweetest lady and very informative! Getting down to the nitty gritty... To start off, we had the fried mushrooms. It was the button mushrooms battered and fried. SOOO good. The portion was HUGE but the mushrooms were on the smaller side, which was ok because you get a lot of them. The mister had the large bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo. He loved it! He's a gumbo fanatic so if he loves it then it's gotta be good. He did mentioned it needed a little more kick to it and it'll be perfect. For the entree, I had the grilled chicken florentine with homemade onion rings and Mac n cheese as sides.... If I wasn't halfway full from the mushrooms, I think I would've eaten my whole entree. EVERYTHING had a homemade taste to it, just how I like it. As for the mister, he wasn't able to eat his Cajun shrimp burger. He was too full from the gumbo. He did eat some of their fries and it also tasted homemade, like freshly cut from the kitchen. All in all, we both loved this place! We will definitely come back again. Their menu is huge!

This is one of our family's favorite restaurants. On Mondays, kids eat free, and is one of the more family-friendly restaurants in town. Tonight, I had the shrimp po-boy with the onion rings-- hands down, best onion rings in town. My favorite thing on the menu, though, is the Bleu Burger with sweet potato fries. Delicious! My husband had the steak tonight, and he was pleased as well. Tonight, Gannon was our server. He did a GREAT job. Last thing-- try the strawberry lemonade.....

Friday night---arrive shortly before 6 and promptly seated---when we left shortly after 7 there was a waiting list. Food was great and service was polite and helpful. But this place is loud!! Ordered spinach and artichoke dip as appetizer and it was creamy but very satisfying.---you had option of chips , bread or both for this appetizer. There is a 14 ounce ribeye and a 14 ounce Cajun ribeye for $1 more which is a little spicier---although 14 ounces is what the menu says, the portion certainly is a minimum of 14 ounces although this two portions we had contained a little fat---but no complaints here. Also on the menu as chef specials is a fried stuff shrimp plate with étouffée topping anda redfish filet with toppings---both were well accepted by our party. Each of these come with 2 sides which selections include your standard fare but there are generous portions---one interesting thing to note is that the side salad likewise wasa generous portion but its contents was not simply lettuce but instead many types of greens. Very satisfying but have to mention again that it was loud in there. Also, they are in process of modifying their menu which usually means price change soon enough. Will return.

The staff was nice but the food... Ugh. HEAVY. Everything is drowning is sauce. Obviously the locals dig this place but just gotta keep it real it's not a four star place. Based on food quality I gotta give it 2.5 stars out of 5.

Thoroughly enjoyed Sunday brunch here. Great Bloody Marys and an unbelievable unlimited champagne deal. Definitely call ahead as it was super crowded. We called to put our name in as we left the house and it really cut down on our wait time. The hash browns are great, but so are the grits topped with cheese and bacon!

Definitely the best burgers in Baton Rouge! I set out on a quest to find the best burger in Baton Rouge, & Mason's nailed it! They also have the best bloody Mary's as well. You won't be disappointed! The also have the most amazing brunch! You must try the breakfast burger & the sweet potato pancakes! (Even if you don't like sweet potatoes.)

We stopped in for brunch on a Saturday. It was busy but the four of us were seated immediately. We got the bottomless champagne and one large orange juice on the side for a perfect mimosa. The breakfast sandwich was the best--one sausage patty, one beef patty, two eggs over easy, bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheddar on a bun!

One of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge. Great food, great service, reasonable prices. The burgers are out if this world and brunch is a lot of fun. The owners are there all the time and make you feel welcome

Food was absolutely amazing. We went for Sunday brunch while in town for the Bayou Superfest. Pulled in the parking lot and new it must be good, cars were parked in the grass and along the road. I had the Cajun Breakfast, the grit cake (jalapeño and cheese) was the best. They are known for the Mason Mary, you get a menu to fill out just to order the Bloody Mary. They have call ahead 30 minute seating, wish we would have known. Waited about 45 minutes, definitely call ahead but it was worth the wait.

Lively atmosphere. Bottomless champagne is $3.95 for brunch. Drink menu is half-price during happy hour. Good food. Friendly staff. Fun times! Sunday Brunch wait time can be an hour or more. Saturday wait time is only about 30 minutes.

Went on Sunday for brunch. Calling ahead of time may be a good idea because there is a crowd. If not, the wait isn't long. Delicious food and the bottomless champagne was a plus. I will definitely frequent more often.

I've been here several times. Mostly because brunch options are limited in Baton Rouge. I'm never impressed. Today the country breakfast I ordered was not even close to serving temperature. Others in our party experienced the same. My son got the breakfast burger and said it was pretty good. I did not inform our waitress, who was nice and efficient, of my displeasure with the food. I know I should, it just bugs me to send food back. The bloody Mason's, are good however and offer the option to fully customize the drink to your liking. I've held off on reviewing this place hoping I'd be able to give it a higher rating. Unfortunately, they consistently underwhelm. Lots of people seem to like this place. I just can't count myself among them.

Nice place to go hang out and meet with friends. It's a very loud place, everyone talking. Fun. It was really good. For starters we had the alligator and it was yummy. Top sirloin and craw fish fettuccine were to die for. Super great flavor. The strawberry lemonade was perfect too. Everything was good but when I got the baked potatoe, it was cold and not appetizing at all. That was the only downfall for me. But I would definitively go back minus the baked potatoe. Kind of pricy $60 for two people and not a fancy place. But I would recommend it. They do need bigger bathrooms, there was a long line to get in the bathroom, about 6-8 women waiting to get in. Wow.

Service was great. Server was peppy but not annoying or obnoxious. They were helpful, and the food was great. My pancakes and eggs were huge, I felt like I was in a Dr. Seuss book or something. This place is definitely a cool brunch spot. I'll be back!

I absolutely love going to Mason's Grill. They have great food, large portions, and small prices. I have eaten there for lunch, brunch, as well as dinner and I have yet to leave disappointed. They have a daily happy hour from 4-7 with half off drink specials (i.e. Long Island for $3.25, beer for under $2, etc.). They have been known to serve pretty good burgers and I must say their BBQ is definitely something to rave about!!. Mason's is always my recommendation for Saturday or Sunday Brunch. Their french toast, pancakes, and omelets are all delicious and are complimented nicely with the $4 bottomless champagne. This restaurant has it all... good food, good drinks, and a great family atmosphere. Helpful hint: CALL AHEAD for Sunday brunch. They are really crowded and calling ahead will cut down on the wait time!!

Our while family loves Mason's burgers! It's definitely kid friendly - but recommend sitting on the front of the restaurant with younger kids - the bar area can be loud and too much for my very quiet kids. Blue cheese burger with onion rings is my favorite!! The shrimp burger is fantastic - and big enough to share! We avoid brunch - too many people for us and wait can get long -- but the couple of times we have braved the crowd the food was outstanding.

Over all I give it a good review. This was our first visit to Mason's. We were seated fast for a Friday night. With 2 little boys that helps a great deal. We came because of the reviews from the 225 Magazine article about having one of the best burger in town. I had to try the Shrimp Burger. Been thinking about it for a few weeks. We ordered the fried mushrooms. I highly recommend them. I order the shrimp burger. It came out quick. Had cheese covered grilled shrimp on top looked great. I ordered it medium to make sure it was still jucy. I was a little disappointed on the first bite. It tasted like any burger I get from Sams. I guess I was expecting a hand made burger. You could immediately tell it was one of the preformed patty from a a frozen box. I could tell cause it was not round it looked like a star I the bun. By the way the bun was great. Soft fluffy like a dinner roll. Over all it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Especially for a burger hailed in both 225 Magazine and the Food Network magazine. Next time I think I'll just eat the fried mushrooms as a meal. It was enough for an entree.

Always amazing. Award winning Bloody Mary's and bottomless Mimosas. Who could go wrong for a Sunday brunch! Always tried something different and have never been disappointed. Chicken and waffles, fruit-covered waffles, Cajun breakfast, or today the California omelet. Everything is delish!! Only been on Sunday brunch but NEVER disappointed. The wait is always long but completely worth it and the drinks are worth the "filler" time!

Sunday afternoon brunch. Arrived at 1:30pm- packed house! Never been here before, it was worth the wait. Ended up sitting at the bar. Food delivered to guests on our left, and on our right- were so delicious looking, that we debated ordering both. We did get the Bloody-Mary, which was incredible. Food was fantastic. Service was great. Thumbs up all around.

Their burgers are delicious! I definitely recommend their Shrimp Cajun burger which was juicy in every bite. My sister also enjoyed her avocado burger. The burger would have been perfect if they deveined the shrimp, but that's pretty much minor. Mason's grill offers a free side such as french fries, potato salad, etc. There is a reason why the Food Network rated the Shrimp Cajun burger as the best burger in Louisiana. Being located near the center of LA, there is no excuse to visit Baton Rouge to try this burger. Our server, Jeremiah, was prompt in delivering our food. I will definitely be coming back!

"Call Ahead for Brunch" - definitely take advantage of the 30-minute call ahead. We came in not realizing how popular this place is, especially for Sunday brunch. The wait was an hour, but that was expected! Once we got seated, we were served immediately, since the kitchen was ready to close at 3pm and it was already 2pm. When I have never dined at a restaurant before, I usually ask what their flagship menu item is or look around the restaurant for what they may be known for. This place is known for their highly acclaimed & award-winning Cajun Shrimp Burger, so I had to try it! The burger was good, but I have had many burgers in my hay-day and I can honestly say I have had better. I guess you can call me a bit of a food snob because I have had many amazing burgers even from places you would least expect to serve a phenomenal burger. The shrimp and the patty were mediocre. Perhaps another burger has to shine, so I will try another during my next visit. Their onion rings get A+++ from me though! I still give this place 4-star because it is a Baton Rouge favorite and I am just plain impressed with how busy they are. Next time I will definitely try something different based on the reviews given and of course, will call ahead. The servers were very attentive through all the chaos!

I dream of their bloody masons. I could have one for my meal. I just wish they were closer to where I now live. I have yet to experience a bad time or bad food. The staff is friendly and efficient whether morning or night. All of my dishes and sampled dishes have been good to great. I had the famous Cajun shrimp burger and while not amazing it was really good, but that was also my first experience there and with the bottomless champagne brunch. All I can say is some friends suggested Masons and we all got the champagne deal and I'm glad we had a sober driver.....dangerous Sunday fun day!

Awesome lunch place!! Me and some friends stopped by here after being hungover from mardi gras in NOLA. Our waiter Jordan was so awesome - attentive, nice, and funny...and totally understanding of our situation (basically suffering from alcohol poisoning). The make your own Bloody Mary was awesome as you can choose the alcohol, seasonings, spice level, and garnishes. I definitely recommend coming here hungover. As for food, we got the blackened alligator and Masons plate with Mac and cheese and chicken sausage gumbo as the sides. The food was all amazing and really hit the spot. They probably had some of the best, simple Mac and cheese I've ever had. The pasta was cooked perfectly. Mmmmmm.

For the price I paid for a tiny breakfast burrito I could have ordered the ENTIRE menu at Waffle House, and it would have tasted 10x better. First I was not able to get it without tomatoes (pre-made). Second their "homemade" cheese sauce was straight out of a can from a concession stand. The final straw was the size. About 3 inches long and 2 inches high. I've seen bigger burritos from a frozen TV dinner. The only good thing is the mimosa. You pay for the OJ and the champagne is endless.

OK, I came back after getting crappy hollandaise sauce from a mix, but this morning's brunch rates a serious complaint. The kitchen burnt my brunch crab cakes to black and bitter and SERVED THEM TO ME ANYWAY AND TRIED TO COVER IT UP BY PUTTING THE CHARRED BURNT SIDE DOWN SO I WOULDN'T SEE THEM. You need to mention to them that turning BURNT crab cakes upside down to hide it DOESN'T change the hideous burnt taste of the food. Really Mason's? The Sunday crowds you draw don't give you enough pride NOT to try to get over on a loyal repeat customer who wrote rave reviews back when you were good? Disappointing to say the least and you should be ashamed. Rachel (our server) was horrified to see that the bottom half of my crab cakes were charcoal and that the kitchen SERVED THEM TO ME ANYWAY. The replacement crab cake benedict was ridiculously inadequate, ICE-COLD in the middle, nothing but bread with NO crab meat or flavor and served with the undercooked poached eggs with the nasty runny whites I SPECIFICALLY ASKED NOT TO BE SERVED. If your kitchen can't handle the Sunday rush, HIRE MORE HELP and fire the jerk that thinks that: A. It's OK to serve ruined, burnt food as long as you turn it upside down so the customer doesn't see it because s/he thinks it's acceptable to serve burnt crap to the people who keep your doors open. B. That is so overwhelmed by the crowds that s/he is unable to keep up. Part B will remedy itself when the crowds stop coming because the food is terrible and then Part A will remedy itself when the incompetent kitchen workers are fired. I don't know who is stealing the crab that SHOULD be going into the crab cakes, but you better find out because your crab cakes are now crap cakes. This is the second visit in a row where the food was extremely disappointing and my five-star rating of this place is now a one and my friends and I will be finding a new and better place to eat since it's obvious that Mason's is no longer worth the trip or the money. I can live without your still-stellar Bloody Mary as the only time I ever drink one is at brunch here. Sorry Mason's Grill. You used to be the best but you have slipped badly in the last year.

Bring a wheelchair with you because after you finish eating, it will be a struggle to stand up and walk out without assistance! The burgers are big and delicious. And if you want to come for brunch, GET HERE BEFORE 11 or else you'll be waiting close to an hour for a table. But it's totally worth the wait

Best brunch in town! Unlimited mimosas and amazing chicken and waffles! Also, best Bloody Mary I've ever had. The service is great and this place is always packed. If you go for lunch or dinner, I'd recommend getting one of their burgers, they are delish!

masons grill... where damn near everything is good. my parents and i (as well as my friends) go here on a consistent basis. I've taken chicks here on casual dates. i always end up getting the shrimp burger. i pick at other plates just to taste. the wings are good too. the 5 star is based on the shrimp burger and other restaurants in BR hahahah. its damn good and I've had my fair share of hamburgers in my day. good God. i plan on getting into a bloody mary the next time i go there. they look phenomenal. (just started the bloody mary phase in my life). get the shrimp burger.

A very solid three stars, based on my experience. Sunday brunch is loud and crazy and the ambiance of the front room we were in was sort of sterile, I preferred the back area. I had an outstanding bloody Mary to start, I had so many choices! I got it extra spicy with horseradish and wasabi, pickled okra and green beans and what made it really special was the cucumber vodka and celery salt rim. I had the famous Cajun shrimp burger. I liked the shrimp/cheese/green chile topping but I don't think the burger underneath was all that special. Bread was forgettable. Onion rings were delicious. My friend had the Cajun breakfast and that sauce on that grit cake, mmm! Very rich and very good. Our server was a sweetheart and she expertly managed our rowdy table of 8 wanting a seemingly endless flow of champagne. Get there early, that place gets PACKED!

place was packed with happy faces and plenty of children, saturday brunch, american and cajun bent but most people were ordering american...... burgers, pancakes. bloodymary was good, raw oysters exquisite and fresh, baked oyster were good, grilled crab cakes poor, too much bread filler, no taste of crab, bad taste of oil. service sweet. my first meal in luisiana this year, there must be something more authentic out there

  • Brenda B.

I don't understand what the big deal is about this place, the service was beyond horrible, and I guess because of my lack of accent, locals/regulars get served first. My shrimp were greasy, and the etouffee was so terrible I couldn't eat it,it tasted rancid. Waitress didn't both to ask if everything was ok she dropped the bill off, 3/4 of my meal was there, and she went on her merry way,I left hungry and angry. Worst meal I had in BR.

Mason's is a great place for a date, business lunch or out of town guest. I'm not a "Louisianan" at heart but Mason's food continues to draw me to the Cajun side! I didn't know what I was missing till I had their stuffed potato with crawfish and shrimp. My favorite adult drink to drink are "Long island ice teas." They pour it into a mason jar! The irony cracks me up and gives the place a little something extra!

My friend had us drive up to meet her here on a recent trip to New Orleans. I had their bottomless champagne and my husband and i split the chicken & waffles and the seafood omelette. There are no words for how good the food was no one at our table was talking for a while LOL i wish that i lived in the area so that i could go there more often

The food here is ok but not anything special. They have a good bar and service was average. Everybody seems to really like this place, not sure why. I had the Roast Beef Po-Boy which was mostly bread, I guess that is why they call it a Po-Boy, they just overcharge for bread. I will go back and try something else but not too impressed so far.

I'm giving four stars for Sunday brunch. I've been for dinner and wasn't as impressed. The food was great! There were so many options on the menu. I went with one of my personal faves, a Belgian waffle with blueberry compote and whipped cream. It was delicious. Since it was Sunday brunch, the wait was super long. I think we waited 1.5 hrs for a table of three. Luckily, we found a spot to sit at the bar while we waited. I was starving so I ordered a plate of biscuits. They were awesome! So light and fluffy. Might have been one of the best biscuits I've ever had. I loved their build your own Bloody Mary deal. Also, 3.95 for all you can drink champagne?? Hell yeah!! The service was great once we were seated. All the waiters and bartenders were very friendly. Make sure you call ahead and try to get on the list. Yum!!

We enjoyed a fine meal there tonight. The shrimp au gratin appetizer was not a normal au gratin but it was fantastic. In included 6 large battered and fried shrimp, many small shrimp and crawfish tails. Sauce was so good we ordered bread to sop it up. I ordered the Cajun ribeye and wife the shrimp and crabmeat fettuccine. Her entree was prepared to order with no mushrooms or onions and she really enjoyed it. My steak was seasoned properly and cooked to order, but a grissel in middle made it difficult to enjoy. No deserts this trip, but we'll be back.

Masons isn't just a restaurant it's a staple of all that is good in this world. I've never had a bad meal and love going for wing night. Everything I've had is great from the breakfast to the burgers to the sandwiches to the bloody marys to the honey mustard. It would get 4.5 stars if I could but I will take a half star away for the parking situation and the crowded high top bar seating area. I know that's picky but overall this place is one of my favorites. I am not opposed to a new location but I understand them not changing what works.

OK, first we're going to begin with the booze! Booze is often a good place to begin when a restaurant has a Sunday brunch special with "all you can drink champagne." WARNING - DO NOT DRINK THE CHAMPAGNE - I don't know the name of the brand, and the only reason I'd want to know is to AVOID IT at all costs! My partner and I had a memorable brunch there one Sunday when we had three small splits of this painful brew. I'm not saying it didn't have alcohol in it, for it must indeed have had - we both went home and napped right after. It was what came after the naps that was the horrorshow - talk about a HANGOVER! Now we're not heavy drinkers, but we ain't lightweight either. I've had the occassional need for an aspirin or two after a long night out, but the after affect of this low end bubbly poison are difficult to describe to the uninitiated. "The Cure," of course, was beer... lots of beer. So - in sum - do not get the chanpagne... it's a sure road to Hell! Instead try the "make your own Bloody Mary's" and choose from a plethora of ingredients, vodkas, garnishes, and levels of heat! Served, of course, in a "Mason" jar, these tasty treats can also serve as a lovely side salad for your eggs Benedict! Talk about "WOW I could'a had a V8! Dinners are ok but pricey. The best deal is the Sunday brunch and the patio is a lovely space to sit out before or after church - or during if you're so inclined. Again though, stay away from that champagne. Don't say you weren't warned! It comes in tiny splits but packs a heinous wallop!

We stopped by on a busy Sunday at 12:00pm. We had a party of 8 and the place was packed, but we waited only 15 minutes to be seated. It has a very busy atmosphere, but it wasn't distractingly noisy. Service is nice also, the staff is very attentive. If you're in the mood for libation, definitely go for the Bottomless Champagne! The food was totally satisfactory! The Omelets selections are first-rate, and the inexpensive additions (bacon, jalapeño, extra cheese, country ham, etc.) will ensure you end your meal full and completely satisfied. That breakfast burger is enormous, and the Cajun Shrimp Burger was featured on Food TV's "Best Burgers" list. Definitely try this location out, you wont be sorry and it's definitely worth a wait!

Cool place for brunch on the weekend. The food is solid and I think the coolest thing is the Make Your Own Bloody Mary. You've got a list of all the things you might want to add, from type of vodka to spices to the veggies you want included. Very cool idea. While we're talking about the bar, they also do bottomless champagne for cheap (like $5!) Their food is pretty delicious and unique as well. I had the Acadiana Benedict, which to be fair was not by any means the healthy option, but so good! The side that was recommended was the grits cake, which was good as well. We also got some of their famous burgers around the table and let me tell you, no one was disappointed nor could they finish them. They were massive! The bun was very good and the flavors all mixed together nicely on the Bacon Burger.

The service was excellent considering how busy they were, the crabmeat Eggs Benedict was delicious, the onion rings were tasty, the Mac n cheese was decent, but I have had better burgers in Louisiana than the Award-winner Cajun Shrimp Burger, it was good but there wasn't anything amazing about it.

Enjoyed dinner with friends. Outstanding bloody Marys. Kind of a sports bar feel with the televisions and noise. Fried catfish was awesome. Will come back on my next visit.

Everyone knows how awesome Mason's is so I'll keep this short. Mason's is awesome! Their brunch is a must. If bottomless mimosas and the best bloody Mary's in Baton Rouge aren't reason enough, the brunch menu will persuade you to give them a try. I've sampled a few different items and I've never been disappointed. They get very busy, the restaurant can get loud and the service can become slow. Just have another cocktail and go with it!

During brunch on Saturday and Sunday this place can get really loud and hectic but that doesn't bother me. I would give their bloody mary 4 stars. The reason they don't get a 4 star rating across the board is wait time on food. They are quick with drinks but the food takes a while. Other than that, some of their food is outstanding but the rest is just average.

I have seen this before, a great little restaurant gets a great reputation then becomes a victim of its own success. I was underwhelmed from the moment I walked in with the ambivalent greeting from the hostess. While we were quickly seated we were in one of the noisiest dining rooms that I have been in. The cinder block walks bounced the sound around in to a deafening roar to where I had to lean in to talk to my table guests. The crepe was rubbery but the strawberries were fresh. The crab cakes Benedict were bland in both the seasoning of the crab cake and the sauce. Even the grits were under seasoned and copious amounts of salt & pepper had to be added. Would I return again? Yes, to at least give them another shot. Would I go out of my way to go there? No.

This place is amazing. We are from out of town and a couple different people recommended this place to us. We had the bayou shrimp and the BBQ shrimp and grit cake as well as the crab cakes as an appetizer. The food was incredible, the staff was helpful and let us modify our order and it came out quick. Highly recommend this place!

We arrived on a Sunday morning and our 45 minute wait turned into over 1 1/2 hours....However the food is really good. I found the jalapeno grit cake to be more like cake and less like grits compared to other places where I have had grit cakes. Still very good. Sweet potato pancake has some cinnamon in it and is good enough to eat without syrup. Our waiter was very attentive and we did not have to wait too long for our food. They have a wide variety of menu options and everyone tasted and enjoyed all the items that were ordered at our table.

We waited a long time to get in, a long time for our coffee, and a long time for our food that was cold when it arrived. Despite being cold the cajun breakfast was very tasty.
