The Sandwich Shoppe is a wonderful creation from the baking gurus over at Atwoods Bakery and a wonderful, much needed addition to the downtown dining scene. Situated across from City Hall, the menu involves wonderfully prepared sandwiches on their freshly baked french bread. I tried the Bentley, with ham, cheese and a stone ground mustard spread on their 8 inch french bread. I also tried their tangy potato salad. They also had two salads to choose from. Also in the building is a coffee and pasty operation on a separate counter. They have done a great job restoring this old historical building and hope they stick around for the long haul.

I work downtown and absolutely love walking to this place to get lunch! I almost always get the Peruvian shrimp salad! Shrimp never overcooked, nicely seasoned, fresh lettuce, and pasta. Mm, It's delicious!! I got my boss the Kress sandwich last time and she said it's the best one she's had in a while! I'm glad you guys are downtown and always so sweet when I come in! The shoppe is connected to crave which serves pastries and coffee and I have heard nothing but good things!

Wow. My first sandwich from here and I was blown away by how delicious my sandwich was. Fantastic bread. Savory ingredients. I liked how you could see the sandwich examples in the case. The salads looked good too. I was surprised that the sandwiches were pre made and individually wrapped into halves but it made my trip especially speedy. The one way streets made it somewhat annoying to get to when there was an unexpected blockage on 3rd at Jackson, but I'm glad I stuck it out and found my way there. There's a separate area with coffees and treats. I didn't try those but I was intrigued to try it in the future.

I had the Kress. It was the vegetarian option. Half a sandwich and a bag of chip for a little over $6. Not a bad deal. Heavy on the cucumbers though.

Our first time to the sandwich shoppe was an awesome experience. I am a sandwich junkie. We are visiting in the area for a short time and were exploring. Not much culture in dining other than Cajun food, so we were pleased to find several unique places in the downtown. I ordered the silver sandwich which he smoked chicken salad and smoked Gouda cheese with other ingredients. Excellent! I also ordered the German marinated potato salad. My wife ordered a sandwich with prosciutto( I cannot remember the name.) along with wild rice chicken soup which was also phenomenal! I highly recommend this place!
