Favorite sandwich shop in town! The poor-boys are piled high. Only con: Sometimes you have to catch them open.

Wow! We were lucky to stumble upon the Lil Cajun House! Didn't know what to expect...my wife chose the Shrimp Po'boy and I went off the beaten path with the Cajun Quesadilla. Both were VERY tasty! The atmosphere is pleasant and clean. And we met the owner, who was very kind. She even gave us a sample of her Cochin de Lait...which was amazing! Highly recommend this place! Thanks Erina!

I had planned on getting a sandwich at subway but the line was crazy long, so I came here instead. This was my first time and the food was amazing! I work right across the street and plan on coming here often for lunch. Being from California, I had never had "Cajun" food. I had the lunch special for the day (Tuesday), which was a huge bowl of red beans and rice, bread, and a pretty decent sized and well made salad for $7. I'm already looking forward to lunch tomorrow.

I had the roast beef poboy with gravy and a small order of fries. It was delicious and so big I had to take half of it home. A little on the pricey side.

Very flavorful food. Large portions for the price. Staff was nice. I would recommend this to anyone looking for Cajun food.

Came here to get Muffulattas. Very good. Not the best I have ever had but very good. The bread was a bit different than what I was expecting. I would come here again but if going through New Orleans, I would wait and get one there. I will be back.

My husband and I decided to go by and try their Po-Boys. I had the shrimp and my hubby had the turkey. They were both very good. This was my first po-boy, so I don't have much to base them on.

Driving thru Alexandria La, we were hungry for fried shrimp and hush puppies. No where but this place has the best fried shrimp and hush puppies. Try the catfish basket also, Dad said it was the best he ever had.

I stopped in here on a recent trip to Alexandria. It is located next to Subway in a strip mall adjacent to the mall. They have expanded their restaurant since my last visit and now it offers plenty of seating. They have a pretty good selection of Po Boys. I opted for the shrimp po boy. My po boy arrived and it was great. The bread was awesome and loaded with shrimp. Finally a po boy loaded up. Another person with me had the chicken pasta and they liked it. They serve gumbo, jambalaya, boudin, etc. I will go back and try some of the other po boys.

I stopped during during a roadtrip from Monroe, LA to New Orleans, LA. I found the place on Urbanspoon and I'm SO HAPPY that we went! The prices were great and the food was AMAZING! Fried shrimp - delicious. Boudin - delicious. Muffaletta - delicious. Cajun fries - delicious. Jambalaya - delicious. Fudge brownies - delicious. The woman who owns the place was extremely sweet and gave us food to try for free since it was our first time in Louisiana. I would go back here 100% next time I'm passing thru the area. You will NOT be disappointed!

I never really noticed this place but went ahead and decided to try it...and now I remember why I never noticed this place! While the owners are local nice folks, I had to wait 30 minutes for my food (and it was only 4 other people waiting before me). There were only 2 workers, and this was on a Friday night, so you'd think they have more workers helping out. The price is between $8.00-$14.00 ... everything is generally Cajun food, fish, (gumbo is seasonal only), etc. The red beans & rice were basically dried out and lacked flavor that you'd expect from Louisiana Cajun cooking. The Friday fried fish & shrimp platter ($10.99) was worth it (I guess), since it included 5 fish fillets and 10 nice sized shrimps. The inside has a New Orleans French Quarter vibe (kinda). Overall, I gave this place a 2 because I had to wait TOO LONG for my food and the red beans & rice were awful...but the fish & shrimp were really good.

I often have to go to Alex for work, I never miss an opportunity to stop by for a poboy. If you want an authentic New Orleans style poboy, this is the place. I've tried an assortment of the poboys and have never been disappointed!!! Btw, a half is a pretty darn good size sandwich, a whole will fill you up for a week!

Wide selection of Po'Boys. The Shrimp PB was very good and my wife had the everything PB and liked it too. It's the bread that makes or breaks a PB and theirs is adequate. Fries too. They also have the staples: jambalaya, gumbo. Portions fairly generous, service is order and walkup. Pricing is not inexpensive, but median. Seating for 20. Basically a storefront restaurant. Many takeout customers. They carry chips including Zapps. Parking out front. Clean.

Read reviews on Google that said this place had some real cajun food. It's a little restaurant in a strip mall near the mall. The lady behind the counter, who I assumed was the owner, was very friendly. I had the red beans and rice and it filled me up for only $3 plus tax. Their menu had an assortment of po boys, as well as gumbo, boudin, and jambalaya. I hate to base my review off only one visit where all I had was beans and rice, but I wanted to get something on Yelp so people would at least have one review to read. I would definitely go back to try their gumbo or jambalaya.
