The place was very clean and the food was amazing. The waiter was really nice to our 2year old son. Even after he made one of the biggest messes of his life with his food. 5 stars to them!!!!

I've frequented Hana about once or twice a week (we eat out a lot) for the past 4 months or so, and I'm done. Hana has TERRIBLE customer service and below average food. Most people go there for the "experience." That is hit or miss. I've some pretty good chefs and so pretty crappy ones. The last time we went, I convinced a friend of mine to go there for her birthday because it would be a fun experience. Terrible choice. He did nothing but cook our food (remember this is over priced food because you're paying for a show/experience). I was so disappointed and felt bad that I convinced my friend to come here. No onion ring volcano, didn't ask how we wanted our steaks cooked, "no salad, we out" (how do you run out of lettuce?), no sauces for our steak and scallops, and EXTREMELY over salty. Not one person in our 8 person group ate any of the food. We paid the bill (each of us around $60) tipped the waitress her 20% because it wasn't her fault, and left. I approached the GM who I have built a relationship with over the weeks (he is from California like myself), and told him of the experience. Not really expecting a refund or anything, but just to let him know. He doesn't even look up from what he is reading and just says "so leave then." I was beside myself. I will never be returning Hana, I've watched it deteriorate in just a few months. I don't know if my weekly party of 6-8 will make a difference in there business, but I sure hope it does.

Hana is the only Hibachi restaurant in town. The Hibachi is tasty. Haven't eaten much else. Wife is not a big fan of the sushi.

First timer! Very nice looking and can be fun with the right people at your table and the right chef. Food was good.

I'm sure the food is good. My bf took me there for Mother's Day and as I was about to eat my food a roach came crawling out on the table. I immediately put my fork down and promptly left. When my bf and I told the manager his only concern was whether or not the the roach was big or small. He didn't even go check to see. He was very cold and unapologetic. I wouldn't go here if my life depends on it. When roaches venture out in the day around people there usually is an infestation! Enjoy!

By far the worst Japanese restaurant I've ever been, it is already hot outside and as soon as you walk inside it seems like the air condition is not working, ask the waitress and said it is always like that. We start breaking sweat as they deliver the food and seems like no one care when we start complaining about the heat, about the food is average. We will not go back there again.!!!

Service was fine, sushi was good; hibachi was nothing special but the food served at hibachi was definitely not what we hoped for: fatty filet, bone in the chicken, but the worst part was that so much soy sauce was used that the rice and noodles were almost inedible. Also, there were hardly any vegetables served with the meal. In order to recoup our losses, we decided to take it home to fix it because our bill for this awful meal (lunch!) was $76! Very disappointed! Would recommend for sushi though as it was very good.

I stopped in here while in Alexandria on business and was pleasantly surprised. I did not eat in the teppan room, but just at the sushi bar. They hav a pretty thorough selection, and it was all pretty good. The gyoza were moist and tasty. The Tako Su with octopus was pretty good. The pieces were a little larger than I like, and the sauce a little sweeter (could have used more vinegar), but still good. The seared tuna (which they called Tuna Tartaki) was just ok. I've had much better. Even Outback's was better. It was good, it just didn't seem seared, but more like it was cooked, and it had a slightly fishy taste like some do when they are cooked. The Rose Roll (see picture) was fantastic. Spicy chopped yellowtail inside tuna. Didn't even need to dip that one in anything. The Shrimp on a Stick with the garlic was not very good. Still had the shell on, and was basically chopped garlic from a jar bought in a supermarket. Finished with a miso which was standard. They do have cold sake (a Nigori), so that's a plus.

Not sure what others are talking about. I come here weekly and it's always been clean, comfortable and no sign or evidence of pests. The food is very good and abundant. Mixed drinks strong and beer cold. Only thing I think could be better is the yum yum sauce. It's not sweet like the Nachitoches location but more reminiscent of horseradish.

We came here on a Sunday night so it wasn't so busy. I've been to Japanese steakhouses before, but this one is nothing special compared to the others. There was food in my boyfriends drink (ew) and the food here is really nothing but grease it seemed like. I got super sick the next morning after eating here. But the shrimp was good enough I guess

OMG, The Hana is by far THE BEST RESTAURANT IN ALEXANDRIA!!! Seriously, it's the ONLY restaurant in town that combines good food with Entertainment. By entertainment, I mean there are Hibachi Grills AT YOUR TABLE for the cooks to cook your food literally in FRONT of you!!! And they not only cook; each cook are basically cooking artists that do cool tricks with the food & utensils while cooking for you. There is literally a 10 minute Cooking SHOW while your food is being prepared. And mentioning the food...absolutely Perfect!! To say it's a Japanese restaurant, The Hana is very "American" in taste and passes MANY American Restaurants by a mile when it comes to taste and flavor. Most of the menu includes fried rice / noodles with your choice of shrimp, steak, chicken, scallops, combinations, etc., whatever you want ... The sushi is also amazing!! They also serve you salad and clear soup before you meal arrives ... the clear soup is absolutely PERFECT (and I barely eat soup). There is also a bar for the drinkers and the staff is very professional. The price however is high (you'll pay around $10.00 at lunch and $25.00 at dinner). Also, the one thing I hate about The Hana, is the table arrangement...each of their 10 tables are set up around a Hibachi Grill and you will be forced to sit with another party most of the time; and sitting with strangers while eating can be uncomfortable. However, the food and the Hibachi "performances" make up for it. Also, if you perfer NOT to sit at a Hibachi grill, there is another side of the restaurant for the regular (simple) dining. BUT, I'm sure you'll want to sit in the Hibachi Tables...it's the reason The Hana is literally the BEST restaurant in Alexandria!!!

We're used to the abundant amount of sushi restaurants in the DFW, TX area, but we didn't have a whole lot of choices while traveling to Alexandria, LA, for business. So we daringly took the whole family here to try out since we were all craving for sushi. Of course we came without very high expectations since it's a small town and there weren't a whole lot of choices for sushi; however we were definitely surprised! The octopus salad (Tako Su) was awesome, just as Eric W suggested. The 19 pc sashimi platter for two was also wonderful. The fish meat was very fresh, it melts in your mouth. The kids had California rolls, Tammy rolls and spider rolls. Those were also highly recommended!! The rolls were big even though the price was cheap ($)! Since the price list was lower for the rolls and sushi than the average DFW sushi restaurants, we thought maybe the rolls would be smaller or not as good. However, it did exceed our expectations. Looks like we've found our favorite sushi restaurant in Alexandria, LA.
