We came here after searching through Yelp reviews and a hotel staff member recommendation. Our group ordered alligator tail and crab cakes...both were delicious. My meal was the red snapper plus some Gator beer (I believe) and it was all really good! Our group then got a free white chocolate bread dessert. The whole experience was great. Our waitress from Texas was very friendly and we appreciated her opinions regarding dishes.

I visited this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews. Great dinner choice with outstanding service and atmosphere. My server Daniel was courteous and very attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant takes you back to the old southern Cajun roots of Louisiana. The food is well seasoned and prepared perfectly. I highly recommend the catfish, shrimp & crawfish tails. You must have the chocolate pecan pie, it is a great way to complete your dining pleasure. This is a must visit location when you are in the Alexandria area.

We had high hopes but the food didn't measure up. Although our food was not up to par, the service was exceptional. They took the unsavory dishes off the tab. Thankful for some great people who still put the customer first.

Delightful. The gumbo is very good. Some of the best I have had in this area. The Seafood Fettuccine is very good, lots of shrimp, crab and crawfish in. A tab heavy on the cream sauce, but that is just me. Save room for dessert. The Baked Cheesecake is excellent. Cheesecake baked in a phyllo crust with a blueberry compote. If you can start with it.

sat at the bar...not a particularly good beer selection...no ales. bartender was accommodating guy, very friendly. had raw oysters, about $8 per 1/2 dozen. I've had plumper ones before. had cup gumbo, which was quite good, lots of sausage. also had 2 crab cakes which were hot, fairly tasty, but lacked a lot of crab. really not a place I would recommend, and I opted for texas roadhouse the next night. happy trails.

When we go south, which we frequently do, I get on a seafood kick that is insatiable. After searching around town a bit with Yelp, we selected this restaurant. The outside looks like a southern seafood restaurant but the inside seemed very formal and didn't have that seafood feel. My feeler was to be proven wrong. We enjoyed the crab soup and the well prepared salad. Mrs Eva got the Seafood Crepes and raved over them. I enjoyed the Grilled Snapper that was topped with crab stuffing and a delightful sauce. Our server was excellent and attentive. We enjoyed our dinner!

The seafood bisque is so dang good I couldn't stay off it. I had the crepes which were really good until I got a taste of that bisque. It tastes like a stick of butter, covered in cream, perfectly spiced with chunks of mild and delicious seafood for good measure. Next time here I am having just that and bread.

I visit this place once a year just to see if they've improved. Sadly this year was no better. The thing about this place is that they do have a great seafood bisque. And the etoufee isn't bad. My steak was cooked well and the potato was basic. My husband had the red snapper topped with crabmeat. According to him, it was OK. The small thin pieces of fish with no sauce made me wonder. But, hey the bread pudding is award winning so it makes up for all the tasteless food.

This is a cute little restaurant. I didn't enjoy my po boy and it was my first time trying one. So that could mean that I just don't like po boys too. The watiress was friendly and quick. The restaurant was dead when we went in for lunch but quickly filled up after we arrived.

Dinner was okay. I had a chicken dish and it had the weirdest texture. More like plastic, it was odd but the flavor was good. They made up for it with their Gumbo! It was delicious! Didn't like their dinner rolls, they were deep fried! Yuck! My husband had seafood Alfredo and loved it. Maybe I'm picky but texture is a big thing for me.

I stopped in for dinner with a co-worker while in Alexandria on business. Despite being attached to a hotel, the atmosphere is quaint and comfortable. It feels like an old country house. The bisque that came with my meal was outstanding! Wow! Don't miss it! I had the Southern Style Seafood Platter. The serving size was quite generous but it was a little overcooked and dried out; especially the hush puppies. Our server was very nice and helpful but they were understaffed so we were a bit neglected. It was a nice night and a good meal but not one I'd need to have again.

We were on our way home from Florida & wanted some Louisiana creole, called & they informed me that they were busy and I told the nice lady our situation and that we were in a hurry, she reassured me everything would be fine & she was reserving a table for us right then. When we arrived, we were promptly seated & served. Food was fabulous, I had the seafood crepes & gumbo. Overall very very good experience! Thanks for your help :)

First time here. Visiting from Houston area. Wife and I both had the crawfish eutoufee. Very disappointing. Very little crawfish, and way too much rice. I pointed out the lack of crawfish to the waitress, and got no response. This place would not survive in Houston area due to competition. We should have ate at the Pitt Grill nearly next door. Live and learn.

Absolutely delicious and service could not have been better! This was a recommendation from a local and it did not disappoint. If we ever come they again, we'll be back.

Food and service were topnotch. Visiting the area and went on recommendation of locals. No disappointment here! Stuffed Snapper, Seafood Crepes, Chicken Alex, and Seafood Platter all were exceptional. Seafood gumbo a little too peppery for my taste but it was chock full of seafood and fragrant/flavorful. Don't miss the white chocolate bread pudding. It is heaven on a plate!

Seated in an area that smelled horrible like old urine. Might have been the stench of all the cheap candles burning everywhere. The front entrance is loaded up with cheap Chinese jewelry crap which takes away from a "Cajun" feeling for sure. Food was just okay. Gumbo was cooked with way too much file' and/or other seasonings. It was more of a very thick stew. Saving grace was the fried crawfish.

Great atmosphere if you can look beyond all the cat figurines in the bathroom... Food was great. Had the red snapper.... Fried alligator tails... Awesome!!

Great food, wonderful attentive staff. Everyone is so friendly. True Southern hospitality. Interesting story about this place: they have rescued over 1000 cats. For some reason, many years ago, people would drop off their unwanted cats. I guess they figured the cats would be taken care of. Anyway, the restaurant owners have them spayed and neutered then find them loving homes. As a tribute, people send cat figurines. They keep these in the ladies room on display. Obviously, I haven't seen them, but my beautiful bride said there are a lot of them and it is very interesting. I highly recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed.

The bread was good, the salads were okay but the entrees were really bad. Worst grilled snapper I've ever had. It was obviously reheated and the crawfish topping was dry and tasteless. Very fishy too. Wife had seafood crepes. They were really bad. On a positive note our server did a great job. Overall I would steer way clear of this place. Yuck.

The Shrimp and Shrimp is heavenly!! Just enough spice to make it awesome. I would definitely recommend this place... Come on in, they're waiting for you!
(5)Edward B.
Had dinner here with three coworkers and while the seafood gumbo was good, the crab cakes were lacking in crab...mostly consisted of breading. Service was good. Decor is very unusual...its as if they couldn't just pick one theme so they went with them all.

The BEST kept secret in all of LA! From the sweetheart at the front door to the adorable waiter we had .... EVERYONE was sweet and soooo friendly! I fell inlove before i even tasted the food! The food is an orgasm in your mouth! I ate there EVERY day and even drove back a week later on my way through for one more heavenly meal to go! while its ALL AMAZING, the cheesecake is truly unique and to die for! Will go back every year just for this place !

If you are in Alexandria, you must check this place out. Friendly, professional, and attentive waitstaff. Follow their recommendations and you won't be disappointed. Started with complimentary seafood bisque with shrimp, crawfish, and crab. Main course of crawfish étouffée. Dab some tobasco sauce and ooooh weeeee!...make the jack rabbit jump up and slap the alligator! Unfortunately they don't have a local brew from Alexandria, but the Baton Rouge pale ale was a great match. Creme brûlée for dessert. Torched table side. Quite silky and very creamy. You gotta check this place out!

Food was really good, read the reviews on the bisque and it is as good as they say. Unfortunate I had not saved room for desert.
