The food was good. Three of us had the fried pork chops and sides. It was very decent. I loved the hot water cornbread. I was disappointed with the lack of the homemade cakes and pies they advertised on yelp. That's why I gave them three stars instead of four.

Just ate here and can't believe how great it is and how I didn't know it was here. Got free desert on first time and cheesecake was fabulous. Southern style comfort food and great prices!

Free dessert on your first visit here! Need I say more?! Walk, run, speed or comply to the law, just get here. It would literally be worth the drive from Lexington if you're looking for a place that serves southern, cheat day like food. When I walked in, I wasn't expecting it to be buffet style, but it was. You can still go with the buffet and only choose a meat and one side, you don't have to choose the endless buffet. The friendly staff serves you the food in a cafeteria like fashion, so it's not the ordinary buffet experience, you know, the kind where you touch the same serving spoon that Billy Jo Bob and Ellie Mae touched too. I had already scoped out the menu on here, and I just had Thanksgiving dinnerS a few days ago, so I opted for something lighter and decided on the buffalo chicken sandwich and seasoned fries. The only bad thing was that on the menu it specifically said crispy chicken sandwich but after about 5 minutes, the waitress or whoever took my order at the front, came out and asked it I wanted fried/battered or grilled chicken. Oh well, not a huge deal, but by the time that I got my meal, my Mr. had already finished his meal, and it was huge! I just had to be difficult and order something different. The sandwich was actually two breaded chicken fingers dipped in buffalo sauce and garnished with ranch, lettuce and tomato. The fries were excellent and everything was piping hot. It also included a drink, all for $6.99. Not too bad! For my free dessert I got banana pudding. WOW.

This was our first time here and it was an awesome southern style cooking place. I had the 1 meat and 2 sides platter which was only $6.09. The portion of the food filled my plate but they do have other options such as 1 meat and 3 sides and 4 sides. 3 - $6.99 & 4 -$7.79 or you can get the unlimited buffet style for $9.99. The service was great and the staff were super friendly. We arrived around 12:30 and got right in and grabbed our food.

This restaurant rocks! Cafeteria style plus menu ordering makes Jacksons very unique. Authentic southern style food, greens, fried green tomatoes, soup beans & Johnny cakes are my favorite. Excellent dessert selection to top it off! I give them an A++

Great little southern cookin place. Maybe I shouldn't say little, the portions are HUGE. and everything is really cheap. It's cafeteria style with mostly fried meats and a variety of side dish options. You choose a meat and how many sides you want, a meat and one side is only $4.59. They also have an all you can eat option but I've never tried that because it's pretty heavy food and one plate is plenty.

If you love country cooking then this is the place for you! The food is really great and the experience at Jackson's is like no other restaurant I have visited.

IF you are near Richmond, KY, at meal time, YOU MUST give Jackson's a try! It is WELL WORTH driving a few miles off I-75. REJOICE FIRST TIMER... you get FREE PIE... the friendly staff at Jackson's will even box your choice from the 5-6 homemade pies offered TO GO if you get filled up! Jackson's is an anomaly in 2015... it will seem like you have stepped back in time to the 50s or 60s. The era of small family cafeterias and restaurants. This is NOT a fancy, glitzy, brand new facility. The wait staff will make you feel welcome, might even convince you that you are family before you depart. YOU will be wanting to return EVEN BEFORE you leave. The restaurant has a menu that offers breakfast, lunch & dinner choices if you decide you do not care to select from the "HOME-COOKED like at Grandma's" cafeteria offerings. The "cafeteria" is a small serving line that offers about 4 meat choices (Monday March 30th... meatloaf, pulled BBQ pork, roast beef & gravy, and fried chicken), about 15 (or more) sides, and cornbread or biscuits. Go VERY HUNGRY to Jackson's because the portion size is VERY GENEROUS, and the prices are shockingly reasonable. I had the pulled pork, cinnamon apples (delicious cinnamon-red look & taste without an overpowering sweetness that masked the apples), stewed tomatoes (best I've ever had), a delicious blend of cooked greens, and cornbread! My wife had a large crispy chicken salad. We took our FREE Coconut Cream Pie TO GO since we both were quite full. I have saved Jackson's in my Garmin favorites. It is now a DESTINATION at meal time anytime we should happen to be near Richmond, KY. We are looking forward to visiting Jackson's again since we have relatives in the region and visit the area several times a year. If you LOVE BREAKFAST and read the breakfast portion of the menu, you will have a STRONG INDELIBLE URGE to return for "Breakfast at Jackson's" someday! NOTHING beats Kentucky hospitality and home-cooking! There aren't even many that can TIE!

If I could make this review 100 stars, I would. This place is delicious and the price is amazing for the amount of food they give you. Highly, highly recommended.

Super breakfast all fresh food. Fried green tomatoes were to die for! The Wife and I had breakfast it was just like a home cooked meal, outstanding! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from the chain or fast food meals. If we're in the area we will be back.

First time here and it was delicious! Great home style cooking! Plenty of choices from the food bar. I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes & green beans - yum! Fried corn cake was awesome! Will definitely return.

I'm ashamed that this is the first time I have been to Jackson's. The selection was amazing and price was more than fair. I stopped by to grab my husband lunch. He got a large fried porkchop, a cup of broccoli and cheese, fried potatoes, green beans and a griddle cake for under $7.00. My husband eats for two men most of the time and he was stuffed. We will definitely be a repeat customer.

I'm so glad I tried this place! Delicious home cooking. I got meat and two sides and it was a FULL plate! I don't know where they would have put a third side... The ribs were fall off the bone and very yummy. Mac n cheese was none of that gourmet stuff, just just good ol' kentucky style comfort food like my grandmother makes. Sweet tea is good and sweet. Green beans had a lot of flavor. All most too much for me because I tend to make thing on the medium to bland side, but my husband would much prefer these I'm sure. Not at all too salty despite lots of flavor. I declined the corn bread and dessert because it was already going to be more than I could eat, but I hope to try them both in the future. The chocolate pie was tempting. The staff is super friendly, treating you like family (without being overly chatty to us introverts) and much of the clientele seem to know each other. It's like the local country folk have come to eat and talk. There was one table of four men that just talked the whole time I was there. They won't rush you out! This is definitely a local hole in the wall, but if you like southern or ky comfort food, don't miss it!

Some friends and I were passing through and inquired about a good place to eat. We were directed to Jackson's. We sat down and started reviewing the menu. Then, people started streaming in. Must be a popular place I thought. Well, I wasn't dissappointed. Despite the rush, our server checked on us, apologised for not getting to us quicker, and made sure we had all that we asked for. Sure, it took a little longer but thats the way things work when you all of a sudden get a rush of people. Now to the food. We were there for breakfast. I ordered an omlette and toast with a side of bacon. All was done perfectly! The bacon was crispy just like I like it without being over cooked. The eggs moist and flavorful with no over done edges, or any thing that made you think someone wasn't paying attention. If I lived closer, this would be a frequent stop of mine. I hope to find myself in the Richmond, KY area again. You can be sure I'll stop in here again! Thank you Jackson's for a great breakfast!

First time eating here and took someone along who has lived in Richmond for many years but had never eaten there. We ordered off the breakfast menu and had a pretty decent meal. Eggs were ordered over medium and came out better than most chain places. Sausage gravy was good. All the basics and not a lot of flair. Service seemed a bit slow for what we ordered and waitress seemed confused that we didnt know to seat ourselves or to just walk up to cash register without a bill. Excited to go back and try some of their other foods and the well priced ready to go foods. Was definitely crowded around 11. Might be a good hidden gem. Will need to visit more times to get full appreciation of the place I think.

Homestyle cooking doesn't get any better than Jackson's. Instead of driving an hour home for mom's soup beans, I can stop in here and get a taste of home.

Fantastic! We made a quick pit stop here on a whim. The food and service was above and beyond. We both got a meat and two sides. It comes with a roll or corn bread and was more than we could finish. What to watch for: Parking is a bit tight, but available in the back.
