I was taken to this by friends I was visiting. It's one of their favorite spots and I agree. The atmosphere was comfortable and not too noisy. I found it easy to talk and catch up with my friends. I ordered the Hot Brown looking forward to a the traditional style I remember from years ago. The order came and the presentation was very good. I took a first bite and found it to be their interpretation of the original. I found it to be an excellent variation. The difference being in their sauce. It added and new and flavorful change to the original.

Best Part of the meal: Server Shane L. He was very knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu, and the type of fish. When I asked about a substitute, he politely humored me with discouragement. Very attentive. $16 Crab cakes: Very tasty, but the crab flakes were hard to find. Pan fried. Broccoli: Cooked to perfection not too mushy -- Shane said it was cooked in a little olive oil, with a dab of butter. Small side salad consisted of a few airy leaves and 2 slices of cucumber about 1/4" thick. $10 Grilled Chicken Spinach Salad had tasty chicken. Balsam vinegret dressing debatable, depending on your own taste. Complimentary Rolls: Came hard as a rock; had to use 2nd tier muscles or knife to pull them apart. Tasty yeast flavor. Quick Service from 4 to 5 pm

I've been to this location twice for SUNDAY BRUNCH. So good! I've never had to wait for a table which I find odd, and the quality of the food on the buffet is well worth the price. Kids buffet is only $6 and they love choosing from all the options. There are lots of breakfast and lunch options, and the dessert bar is huge. But really I'm writing this review because of THE WAFFLES. OMG. I don't know what kind of wizardry is used to make them, but they're perfectly crisp on the outside and warm and light and soft on the inside. Plus topped with a little warm syrup, whipped cream, and strawberries - TO DIE FOR. Friendly quick service and you'll definitely leave satisfied! Must go.

Green. Chili. Wontons. Aside from that, I think it's time we sit down and have a chat with Louisville's own Bristol Bar & Grille. The Bristol was never what I would consider to be a fine dining establishment, however, their service was once upon a time... impeccable. Regardless of the location, I could expect quality food served by quality people. Though I never really drifted to too far across the menu, (I stuck with staples, yunno, burgers, salads, green chili wontons) you could sense a certain level of care when it came to preparation and presentation... even with carry-out orders. My last visit was a tragic, polar opposite of the establishment that I'd come to know and love. The service was shoddy, at best. My server, god love him, looked like he'd dressed himself in the dark coal mine. I... god, I cant continue just ragging on this place. I don't have the breath for it. Let me just run through this real quick: *They were tragically understaffed. *My coke was flat. *The green chili wontons were mostly cheese... very little green chili. Basically a lightly flavored squishy mozzarella stick. *Lettuce was wilted. *Beer was warm. *My servers pants were 8 sizes too big. *Burger buns were stale. *Did I mention they screwed up the green chili wontons? I'm leaving this review open-ended in the hopes that some magical transformation lifts the Bristol from it's TGI Friday's grade ashes. They're a Louisville Original, and it's a shame to see them stammering about when they should be a celebrated establishment. This won't be my last visit, nor do I intend on abandoning such a local staple... but if their service does not rite itself, I can't imagine the community will share my same level of commitment.

Best brunch in Prospect! Service is always great and quick. They also had a 99 on their health score! If you are in prospect I highly recommend it.

Another trip home, another trip to a Bristol. This time up, my old stomping grounds of Prospect. A touch of Bardstown Road in Prospect. Who knew? I didn't but I liked it. I really liked it. It's the standard brunch the Bristol is known for but the little flourishes make this location one to remember. 1.) The artwork. The attention to detail and design is greatly appreciated. The cool art that adorns the dining room walls (all the way to the ceiling) provided a great place for my eye to wander in the brief seconds it wasn't scanning my plate for deliciously cheesy eggs or crispy fried chicken. 2.) The food. I have said before that not all Bristols are the same nor do they carry the exact same food. This Bristol is bringing much to delight your tastebuds. The savory options are fantastic. There's nothing ground-breaking on the buffet menu, but the classic Southern options are expertly prepared (which is not often the case with buffets; assembly-line food production tends to breed boredom) and amply presented. Even when faced with a mob of hungry hungry hippos, you won't have to wait long for a biscuit with sausage gravy, waffles with fresh fruit or breakfast proteins of your choosing. I left here with a food Octomom belly. Yes, I was a hungry hungry hippo. 3.) Service. Not once did I have to ask for a refill of my tonic with lime. Not once did I have to ask for a plate to be cleared (and I had several to be cleared). Not once did i have to ask for anything. My waitress was cordial, efficient and non-hovering. She was there when we needed her and absent when we were talking and eating. And, she always had a smile on her face. I regret not recalling her name. 4.) Crowd. It's the same post-church Sunday crowd that you'll run into at every Bristol. I did notice less Sunday best clothes (more street clothes) and less iced teas (and more bloody marys). Maybe Prospect is full of heathens... and loud, unruly children who enjoy running around restaurants screaming at the top of their lungs. Yes, that is what I am taking from the experience. Things sure have changed from my day... I still have yet to order those green chile won tons. I know! Born and bred in Louisville and I have never had them. I fear my card is soon to be taken away.

Pork dijonaise great, little french bread and butter good, salmon good. Salad brown tips and use spine of iceberg lettuce instead of tossing it. Rating because of bad salad.

We were in town to visit some friends, and so we had a late lunch here and sat out in the patio. Patio was a nice place to sit, eat, and talk. I guess the green chili wontons are a trademark appetizer to get at Bristol's... they are cheese wrapped in a wonton wrapper and deep fried - not bad if you like cheese, not good if you are lactose intolerent. I had the Bristol Club sandwich - nothing to write home about. Husband had the Bristol Burger, which was just ok. All in all, I think this is a nice place to meet up with friends, but food is just average fare.

Food was tasty as usual. First time at this location. Service was excellent. Great bourbon menu and decent wine list.

The Bristol here in Prospect is kind of my go to place if no one can agree on what we want for the evening. It has a pretty wide menu that can please almost anyone. This Bristol has always had great waiters, and is probably the reason I keep coming back.
