We stopped in at 3 pm Sunday and this place is always busy. We got seated immediately and had decided to have breakfast. We were waited on in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered biscuits and gravy and told the server " heavy on the gravy". When she brought the order out, I had 2/3 to 3/4 bowl o gravy. This would have been ok except I specifically said heavy. The rest of our experience was good. I really like CB, but I'm struggling to give a 4 here.

Typical Cracker Barrel experience. Food was mostly good. Bacon limp and chewy and one piece was burnt, plain hash browns were undercook with a black crispy patch. The griddle must need a tune up. Also the syrup was cool...... In Ohio we got warm syrup. Our waitress forgot part of my order and asked if I would like more water...... 8-10 minutes later a different person showed up and topped off my water... I asked if she could help with my hash browns a minute later she showed up with what i doctrines above. 2 minutes after that my waitress should up and brought me my check and told me to have a nice day. I will have a nice day as I continue my vacation with my daughter.

First off, we stopped in with the Band in the morning. We were the only group of folks but we were a rather large group. That being said the waitress and staff there had no clue how to serve a large group of tables. The waitress would take 1 or two tables worth of orders, put them in, get their drinks, get the food, move on to the next table. She could not deal with more than 2 tables at once. The first table was done with breakfast before 1/2 of he tables even got water delivered. We finally got waited on when a waitress that got called in early showed up to help. The food, when we got it, was bland and either over or under cooked. I suspect the same issue in the kitchen as the service. I don't normally choose Cracker Barrel for a meal since I usually get this kind of service and food when I do but it was not my call this time.

NEVER again. And that goes for the other Cracker Barrel locations, too. I'm all for kitschy theme restaurants, but my love for this country bumpkin'-style restaurant chain is gone now that I had a bad experience. Overcooked chicken fried chicken, pricey sides and lackluster service. The menu seems strangely like cafeteria food. If you've eaten at Luby's--a mostly Texas chain--the menus are very similar, though Luby's has better food. They definitely cater to seniors here. The chicken fried chicken was just so-so, but only because I was spoiled by the best chicken fried chicken in the country: Treebeards, in Houston. The fried okra was more breading than actual vegetable. The worst part of the meal was when I dripped a yellow liquid from a small bottle on my biscuits, thinking it was honey. When I asked the waitress what it was, she looked at me and said, "It's our apple cider vinegar for your greens," and gave me a look like I was an alien asking why people put ketchup on french fries. I don't care how routine or "Southern" putting apple cider vinegar on greens is; it tastes disgusting--especially when you think it's honey, and you want to liven up dull biscuits. When she brought cornbread, even an entire pack of butter couldn't help the overcooked, dry bread. Cornbread should be sweet, not flavorless.

We stopped here for lunch while in town for work (we are from Boston area). We were seated right away during what appeared to be a really busy day, and our waitress Candy was great. Super personable, made good recommendations for our lunch choices and checked on us often. The lunch was great, no errors in our order and no complaints about our meals. We'll come back again if in the area.

Urban Dictonairy defines Cracker Barrel as "a large wooden structure filled with old white people." You have to admit, it is funny that there is a restaurant named the Cracker Barrel, it's make of wood, and full of ... Anyway... This was my first ever Cracker Barrel. The store theme is kind of neat. Cool sodas, candy, and other local things. The store has cheap prices. The food was pretty good. It's like going to grandma's house for supper (not dinner). It really is like a home cooked meal and it's relatively cheap for what you get.

This was our second Cracker Barrel in the same day, and this one was a real disappointment. We stopped in for a late lunch and were seated immediately. My wife ordered the Reuben sandwich, and it was much better than my BLT. They really skimped on my bacon, and the steak fries were cold and soggy.

Basically if you have visited one Cracker Barrel --you have visited all. Not necessarily true as I have found not all Cracker Barrels are the same. This one is located in one of the busiest sections of Paducah, just in front of the mall. There seems to always be a good crowd of people in the restaurant. We stopped by for lunch the other day and found the service and food good. This is country style cooking, fried chicken livers, turnip greens, chicken and dumplings, fired apples---you know that kind of country of stuff. The food was good however seemed to me like the portions re getting smaller---in fact I know they were smaller than during our last visit. A lot of the locals eat here however expect a lot of tourist as this place is just a minute off Interstate 24. Prices are good and parking on their lot is free. There is the "country store" as you enter and as you pay your dining check. A lot of the "stuff" will more than likely end up in your garage sales. I am giving it 4 stars because it is good and not too expensive.

Risking all credibility as a San Francisco foodie, I am going out on a limb and reviewing the good ol' Cracker Barrel. For those of you who haven't enjoyed the southern hospitality of the Cracker Barrel, I'll let you in on a secret: it's the best 5-course meal you can get for under $10. I had chicken & dumplings, fried apples, turnip greens, fried okra, and two biscuits for about $8. Okay, it's not health food, and it's certainly no place for a vegetarian, but sometimes a person needs a little southern cooking. I have been to many Cracker Barrel locations throughout the midwest, and the Paducah location was about par for the course. The only thing differentiating it from other locations were a couple of blue University of Kentucky rocking chairs out on the front porch. The service was fine, and the food was the usual (very good, considering the price tag). Most importantly, they were open on Memorial Day, when every other restaurant was closed, so kudos to them for that.

After a nice hike in beautiful Southern Illinois Nature, we went to Cracker Barrell for a delightful brunch. I have good service here every time I come and it surpasses that of it's competitor IHOP. My favorite breakfast is pecan pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese, and turkey sausage:)

On the way back to Nashville, my friends and I stopped in Paducah for some dinner. We LOVE Cracker Barrel. Our experience here was top notch. We got seated right away, had friendly service, and the food was delicious. I got dinner- which is abnormal for me because I normally do breakfast- and it was amazing as I thought it would be. I got the chicken fried chicken, green beans, hashbrown casserole, and of course some dumplings. Man I love those things. Great job Cracker Barrel off I-24 Exit 7 in Paducah!!!
