I wanted to love Fetta, but I only like it. I've heard rave reviews from friends and this weekend I was in town to visit family so I decided to give it a try it. I love how the downtown is being the place to be. So nice to see all the new things coming up in downtown Owensboro. The building is cute, cute meaning that it's kind of small. It's shaped like an old row house. Inside, the decor is nice. Hardwood floors and ornate light figures are throughout. The menu is simple, pizzas by the slice on one side and entrees on the other. Different pizzas are available by the slice on different days. I dined in on a Saturday and had the Smothers Park Meat Special pizza. It had bunch off different meats, pepperoni, sausage, maybe bacon, I cannot remember all the meats. The slices are precook I think because there's a display when you walk in that has the different slices of pizza that are available. My boyfriend ordered the garlic knots to eat as an entree because we weren't that hungry but meeting a friend who was. The knots were undercooked and had a real doughy taste. He also ordered ginger beer sour. He said that it tasted like a little bit of ginger beer and a bunch of watered down lemonade and no amaretto like it said it had. It was a pretty disappointing drink for 6 bucks. The pizza slices we ordered took a little longer than I thought they were going to take, seeing as how they've slices of precooked pizza in the display in front. We dinned around 3pm and the restaurant wasn't overly busy. It took about 15 minutes to get the two slices of Smothers Meat that the table ordered. The taste of the pizza was good. I love just about any pizza, so its not hard to make a pizza that I like. I thought that the meat combination was good, but not great. The crust was a little hard. The pizza reminded me of when you get a pizza and have leftovers and then try to bake it again in the oven and the edges and crust get a little too crispy. I'm not saying the pizza was bad, but for $3.50 it wasn't anything to write home about. I actually think the 3 meat pizza at Sam's for 1.98 is just as good. Sorry. I would come again to Fetta, I like the location and the atmosphere, but I don't love the pizza like a lot of the reviews on here. Maybe my first visit wasn't the best, but I'll try again when I'm back in town.

We were part of a large group. The service was good overall considering the crowd. My pizza was hot and tasty. Some of my friends had other experiences This is my second time eating here. The food is good, not great. This place has potential. I would try it again.

OK, I'm here for my second visit. The first time I was here I had a fabulous pizza. Absolutely one of the best pizzas I've ever had. BUT, I'm sitting here watching one particular guy make pizzas. He's throwing the dough around. Quite expertly I must say. AND, he's wearing gloves. HOWEVER, as I am watching him he proceeds to touch his hat, his pants, the trashcan, wash dishes, open a freezer door, brought out supplies, all with the same gloves on. He picks up a dirty cleaning rag and begins to spin it around like the dough he was twirling. Then he grabs some more dough with the same gloves still on his hands he starts spinning the dough again with the same dirty gloves. I will never eat here again. Too risky. I hate it too. Sorry guys. You just lost a customer. The manager was quite apologetic but I won't go back.

I was staying in Owensboro on business and happened to go through downtown as I drove in. I noticed a lot of restaurants that looked like they were locally owned smaller places, my favorite. While out for lunch I turned down a side street and found this place. From the outside it is very inviting and once I walked in the door is was equally so. Nice furnishings, clean, and comfortable like the den in your own home. I sat at the bar because I was alone and the seating was open. The staff was nice, inviting and spoke to me quickly. When the waitress come to ask what I would like I explained that I had never been there before and it would take minute. She stopped and went over the menu with me. She was very knowledgeable and kind. I looked and ordered the Spinach, Chicken, Asiago pizza and a Caesar salad. The menu is different daily and about some of the pizzas are only available on a given day. I am very glad I came on a day that offered this one. you order a slice or a whole pie, I ordered the slice. The crust was done to a crisp, but not burnt. The sauce was a white sauce and it worked quite well. The Caesar was quite good. One odd little thing. For such a nice place it struck me odd that the food all came in disposable dishes; disposable plate, cup, silverware, all of it. The salad even came in a to go bowl with a lid. But hey, it was all very good... So shut up and eat, right? If they wanted to take this to 5 stars they would get me a real plate and glass then give me a metal fork and knife. ;-) The price was very good. I got all I got for basically $11.75. But the tip had to be good because the service Rocked. Tip: When ordering pizza be sure to note that the pizza comes with white sauce unless the lettering is in red.

Stopped in on a cold December night to grab a bite to eat. The pizza oven had the place warm and cozy. To my surprise a three piece band was playing some great music. The young lady couldn't have been more than twenty, but sang like an angle. I tried a couple of slices of the Mash Potato, Bacon and Vidalia Onion pizza. Non-conventional yes, but very good and filling. I love this place!

Sunday afternoon extremely busy during dance competition at River Center. Cooks were KILLING it......selling food left and right. Open kitchen concept so patrons can watch them work. I was impressed and the pizza was incredible. Will definitely be back next time in Owensboro!

What a great surprise! My girlfriend and I came for dinner on our visit to Owensboro and left really impressed. The restaurant is perfectly located near the riverfront. They have an excellent beer selection (Kentucky Bourbon Ale YESSSSS), and the ricotta and basil pizza was fantastic. The best part, however, was the price: $20 for an appetizer, beer, and 2 huge slices of pizza. Incredible. It's really cool to see quality restaurants in Owensboro! We will definitely come back when we're in town.

Went by after day at Holiday World. Kids loved their pizza and garlic knots! Smothers Park is just a cross street. Mashed Potatoe pizza was really good too!

We moved here from a big city and this place has incredible pizzas!! Hand tossed pies...nice thin crust. Fresh toppings and great selection of pizza, classic and gourmet. Best pizza in town hands down and likely best place to here in this small town

If you like NYC pizza DONT come here. Friendly staff & cheap beer. Raw peppers on pizza can I say more? :(

This is one of the best places we have found to eat in Owensboro . Different than most pizza. Great atmosphere by the river. Fun for the whole family.

Before I get into the meat of this review, there is one important fact that you need to know: Fetta served me up the best slice of pizza I have ever had. Anywhere. And now, onto the meat... When I checked into my hotel down the road, I asked the desk clerk where a good place was to get a late lunch and maybe a decent beer. Without hesitation, she suggested Fetta. Out the front door, through a parking lot, and there you are...so if you are staying at the Hampton Inn, leave the car in the lot and walk over, it takes about 2 minutes. I checked out the Yelp reviews, they were universally glowing in the quality of the pizza but varied on the service. Let me slam that door shut right now. My server (Ashley L) provided some of the most outstanding service I have ever had. Anywhere. She is quick with suggestions to be sure...but it is also very apparent within 5 seconds of speaking with her that she truly loves her job. She is passionate about the pizza and really wants to make sure that you have the best experience at Fetta that you possibly can. When I quizzed her about the IPAs that they had, it wasn't her wheelhouse, but she offered to go get 'the book.' Almost any other server would have just picked the first thing off the top of their head and gone with it, but she wanted to make sure I was informed. I politely declined 'the book' and went with a Dogfish Head IPA. Go with what ya know... But I digress. Other reviewers have commented on the service. While I wasn't there with them, for my well travelled eyes, any issue that may have existed once upon a time are very much now in the rear view mirror. All of the guests seated around me were served promptly and politely, each with the same winning smile and attitude that makes Ashley L a true gem to the frequent diner. To me, service at Fetta is something done completely right, and if she is a recent addition to the staff, my sincere compliments to the management. You picked a winner. To start, I got an order of garlic knots served with marinara and cheese sauce. Truly a perfect starter with the exact right portion. Then the slice. Pulled Pork Mango with Chili sauce. I really wish that I had the appropriate vocabulary to describe how perfect this slice of pizza really was. I'm a snob for Matchbox pizza in Washington, DC but on its best day it can't hold a candle to what was served to me at Fetta. It is only served on certain days of the week, so if you are there on the wrong day, I'm truly sorry. Consider it a good excuse for a return visit. But if the other slices are as tasty, you pretty much can't go wrong. (See my picture for the slice of the day menu.) Beyond good food and good service, there is vibe. If you ever look at my reviews, you know that I'm all about the vibe. Present and in abundance, but with a strange twist. Fetta would be completely at home in virtually any city I can imagine. San Francisco. Austin. New York. Philadelphia. Seattle. Seoul. Tokyo. Munich. The list goes on and on. While I'm certainly pleased that I stumbled upon this gem in Owensboro, I can't help feeling the same way that I would feel if a good friend hit the lottery: On the outside, I'd be happy and supportive...but deep down inside I'd wonder why him (in this case, why Owensboro). Don't get me wrong, Owensboro is a charming little city by the Ohio and entirely deserving of such a great pizza spot, but just as Rex Chapman was destined for greater things, in my heart of hearts, I believe that Fetta is as well. If dearly departed Uncle Phil left you a stash of cash, Fetta is prime for investing and franchising. Yes, it is really that good. Fly to Owensboro and prove me wrong. If you've gotten this far into the review and are STILL on the fence, stop reading right now and go before I pack up the entire building and staff and transplant them into Ghent and all that is Colley Avenue in Norfolk, VA. If you are lucky enough to live in Owensboro or the surrounding area, shame on you if you don't make this a weekly lunch or dinner spot.

Pizza crafted by pros Seriously delectable pies, done in original fashion. If you find a mashed potato pizza anywhere else....... Please let me know. And if you haven't tried it, please don't shake your head until you do! This place has more than 20 choices of pizza, I've had 12 so far and I haven't found anything I wouldn't order again. Service is outstanding, waitresses are aplenty and never stand still. Live music on the patio (I've played there myself) I've brought my kids, my band mates, my cousins......loved by all!

Great customer service! We showed up before they opened at 11 and the manager was still polite enough to get us sat and serve what they had available. We had the Greek salad and spinach salad both of which were very fresh and good balance of flavored. We also had 1 slice of cheese pizza that was excellent. Fresh mozzarella is key to a great pie. When we're in town again we will definitely be back.

Fetta pizza has hit a home run on the bbq Pork Pizza with pickles and the mashed potatoes pizza!!! The BLT pizza could use some work!! Fresh tomatoes would make it so much better than canned tomatoes! !! Will visit again!!!

Great downtown pizza. Brings back the by-the-slice culture of stop in pizza joints. Kitchen needs to watch the cooking - sometimes undercooked. Very happy places like these are making a comeback in Owensboro.

Cute little pizza parlor right on the waterfront. Stopped here for a super late dinner. Live music, pizza by the slice, and beer - what else could anyone ask for? Garlic knots and margaritaville pizza were delicious.

  • Renee H.

The garlic knots are fabulous and are enough reason to stop in all by themselves. The pizza is also delicious with some truly unique offerings. I'm looking forward to the completion of their expansion and my next visit.

Folks, this is the best pizza in tri-state area! We've become habitual consumers of Fetta's gourmet pies and I can say enough about their homemade salad dressing. Their service is outstanding and the place is the cleanest restaurant in town. The atmosphere is fun and the live music is a treat! Try the mashed potato pizza or the meat pizza! So good! We'll be back soon!

  • Valery H.

This place is fabulous! They change up the pizza selection daily, ranging from the usual meat lover's to the unusual, but yummy, mashed potato and bacon pizza. They've also got a good veggie pizza. I recommend to buy by the slice and split with friends so you can each sample as much of the different toppings as possible. The garlic knots are a must-have as well!

  • Rachel W.

Pizza was SO good!!! The sauce was one of the best sauces I have ever had. Also, the bathrooms were so clean! I love and appreciate it when food places have nice, clean bathrooms. They sparked clean lol and had a lot of room. But the pizza was amazing and I would recommend this place. I live in California but the next time I visit I will totally come back!

Service 1 stars Food 2 stars Price 2 stars Ambiance 3 stars I have been here twice. Service very slow - one time I ordered take out they said 20 mins, I showed up 25 mins later, they hadn't even started my pizza and didn't fess up to it. I went back out to my car and waited it out. Pizza was average at best, but I like thin crust pizza theirs is thick and sort of doughy. Ambiance: Nice looking place but feels a bit crowded. Note they service their food on paper plates and plastic silverware...a bit cheesy and not ecologically friendly. Price is higher than I would have expected for the average quality of food. A lot of 5-star reviews for this place; maybe I just got below average service/food twice.

Really a great spot for a quick lunch. If you choose from the slices available for the day, it is super fast. Lots of creative pizza options, but you really have to try the mashed potato pizza. The buffalo chicken and mushroom and bacon were both great, but could have used a little more kick. Definitely worth a trip back.

There were maybe four small tables that were filled when my daughter and I walked in. There was no one to greet us, but the guy making the pizza behind the counter was very welcoming and said that we could pick our own seats. We were finally waited on after we sat down. Service was OK, but the pizzas were delicious! We ordered by the slice; a cheese and bacon/potato. My daughter ate all of hers! It was my first time eating a bacon/potato pizza and it was delicious! I would come back here again and try their other unique pizzas!

I read the reviews and also got referred by the American Legion commander across the street. They were all correct. Great staff and food. Reasonably priced. Great brew selection. Pizza was not your typical stuff, rather amazing!I left very full. I stayed at the Hampton Inn and got a coupon for free appetizer bread twists. Had the jalapeño omg good! This place is worth checking out!

  • Leslie S.

Pizza was excellent! It is sold by the slice for $3.50 each. We tried pepperoni and bacon, mushroom, onion and they were both delicious! The crust was flavorful, toppings were plentiful and the sauce was well seasoned. There are different toppings available on different days. There is an inside area, as well as outdoor seating. You can order your pizza from a walk up window, which was unique. We did that and then sat outside listening to a band on the patio. I would definitely recommend this place. I do wish they would have given us napkins and paper plates for our to go order-that's my only suggestion.

After playing all afternoon at smothers park we walked over to Fetta to try their pie out. It was busy and we were told the wait could be 40 minutes. It was actually about 25. We were offered drinks while we waited which was a nice touch. Once we were seated the service was prompt. We tried the barbecue pork pizza and it was excellent. The young one had the cheese pizza and she liked it as well. Overall it was a very satisfying experience.

The food is great and the prices are great, especially for individual slices of pizza. Good beer selection, too. I love the interesting pizza choices that they have, too.

Even if something fell short, it would be hard to complain. The service is sincerely friendly and attentive - they clearly want your business! A very refreshing reminder of how good dining out should be ANYWHERE. Having said that, it all tasted fresh and made to order, even the pizza slices du jour. it's a "one size fits all" business model, next to a great new city park and revitalized, walkable urban core. They should do well, as long as they maintain this level of passion!

What a great night out! We stumbled upon Fetta while visiting some Kentucky friends of ours and we were all pleasantly surprised! The environment was fun, friendly and inviting and the pizza was great! We had the mashed potato pizza and the meat lovers and they were both incredible and full of flavor! We were also able to sample the BLT, which is not on the menu, but can be ordered! Our next visit to Kentucky will include a stop at Fetta!

This new downtown restaurant has a very nice decor. The specialty pizzas were delicious but I found it strange that the restaurant is trying to be gourmet or upscale but water was served in plastic cups with plastic utensils and disposable plates.

Came here after walking over to Capone's (I wanted to see if the customer service was as bed as I read). Glad I came to Fetta's!! I tried three of their specialty slices and all of the were very good as well as the service. I would definitely recommend eating here

This place continues to be THE best pizza in town! The staff...nothing short of AWESOME! I feel at home with every visit. I'm a Fetta "Lifer"!

Fetta was great! We took our two small kids and stopped in on a road trip. The food was wonderful, the staff friendly and very accommodating. We sat at the bar and watched them make the pizzas, what fun! Thanks for making our trip even better.

The ingredients were fresh which is a nice change. A guy who looked like an owner came by and let us try mashed potato pizza which was delicious. I thought it was weird they used paper plates and plastic silverware. The pizza was great

It wasnt horrible but it was not awesome either. Had a decent flavor and reasonable topping selection but really small for the price. Salad was full of not fully washed lettuce and Not enough toppings to lettuce ratio and there was no cheese. it was a reasonable size for the price but not that good.mThe help seemed nice, someone, I think maybe the owner, was wearing so much cologne it made me and my partner nauseous. I don't have any reference to other pizza spots in the area and it might surpass what is available locally, but this well traveled girl that is used to slices twice the size for the same price with better selection, i was disappointed. Also with how slowmthey appeared there is no telling how long the slices had been sitting there. Even if the Resturant doesn't heed all of my complaints, for god sake learn how to clean lettuce or buy a salad spinner or something. I will say I will not likely go back.
