Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

4 star minimum for having pizza by the slice. Cheese or pepp. Choose your poison. The slices are always fresh and ready for a walk in. I was in and out in less than one Inning of baseball. Overall, pizza was damn good. Wish it was a little bit more well done and larger than a normal slice from a 16 inch pie (slice of oizza should need two paper plates) , but the slices passed the foldability test (can the pizza fold?) and had amazing piping hot cheese. We have a a winner. Two slices please. No joke, Newport pizza has every topping under the sun if you order a pie, including two types of garlic. I will be back. Pizza Princess-out.

The fried mozzarella is delicious but kind of difficult to eat. The pizza is good but not amazing. The only thing I've had here that I wouldn't recommend at all is the boneless wings. They are smaller than chicken nuggets and have little to no sauce on them. If you want za in the area go elsewhere

The cheese "sticks" are actually balls that you want in your mouth! Soooo delicious it's crazy. The only thing I'd change is asking them to warm the marinara sauce. For the main course we ordered the Monnouth and added banana peppers and it did not disappoint! The pizza was insanely good. The ingredients are fresh and the pizza was freshly made. No complaints here! The beer selection is the best I've ever seen for such a small place. Larger establishments should go there just to take notes on proper beer selection.

Pizza was just ok nothing special. Disappointed in the cheese sticks. The steak hoagie was good. With all the pizza places in Cincy I would not try this again.
(2)Chris H.
Excellent pizza but very slow service. Our waitress walked by us for 25 minutes without acknowledging us while we had our cards out ready to pay.

Great veggie sandwich, my favorite. Kids love the cincinnatain pizza with skyline chilli on top. I am vegetarian so I get the cheese pizza at times great flavor and great sauce

One of the best places to get pizza in northern Kentucky. Wonderful thin crust and fresh ingredients. On Mondays they have all their large pizzas for $10, you can't beat it. The only issues I've ever had are very minor. One, they don't toss their pasta with the sauce to finish cooking. It's one way that I really know a restaurant knows how to cook pasta. Two, the bread for the bruchetta is very thin, tough, and chewy. The tomatoes and pesto they use are excellent, but the bread is terribly disappointing. I believe it should be crusty/crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We're looking forward to trying the desserts. If you're out for pizza, it's definitely worth a try. Update: The bruchetta is much improved, the bread doesn't taste like old shoe leather. But I can't figure out why you can't get half and half with their $10 deals on Monday. If you're getting half chesse, what's the difference? I'm saving them half the toppings.
(4)Tricia W.
Really good pizza and beer selection. Today we tried their steak sandwiches and were pleased. It was a tad on the dry side but is your standard steak sandwich. The fries are handcut but nowhere close to crisp. Their fried mozzarella, however is some of the best I've ever had. Locally owned is a bonus!!

If you want pizza near downtown Cincinnati only one place to go.... nEwPoRt PiZzA y'AlL!!!$$$ Highly recommend pepperoni in paradise. Avid customer for six years. Total commitment. Favorite pizza in the Cincinnati area hands down, hands up. I always ask to sit in the cute girl, Sarah's, section. Her hair and makeup is always absolutely breathtaking.

Love this hole in thr wall place. Never actually sat to eat, I always take out. I like this place because they sell pizza by the slice. Sometimes when I'm in a rush and don't want to buy an entire pizza, the slices hold me over. The only downside is that I wish they would put the to go slices on paper plates instead of what reminds me of to go baggies.

Newport Pizza produces a descent pizza. I utilized their delivery service and ordered the Monmouth Pizza and the Asiago Spinach dip. I really appreciate the quality of toppings they use on their pies - to me, this was the most redeeming quality of my order. The vegetables were all fresh mushrooms too!), and the Italian sausage was crispy, spicy and delicious. The crust was decent too - it was a little too thin for my liking, but it had a nice sweet flavor and crisp exterior. The sauce, what little there was, lacked flavor. The cheese distribution was also somewhat sparse. The Asiago Spinach dip was also a nice surprise - I really enjoyed the creaminess and the large quantity of spinach. I'm still on a quest to find my go to pizza place in Northern Kentucky. Newport is ok and I'd try it again, there just has to be better!

Is there a 3.5? On the positive side there is always a table, the food is consistent and some very very good. The mozzarella sticks are ridiculous. Pizza is pretty good- especially like the meatball and the rotating monthly pies. We've had inconsistent service though. We order pretty much the same thing everytime. Fried mozzarella and two small pies. One waitress forgot the mozzarella appetizer so we asked when it never showed. She told us we were lying and that we never ordered it. First rule in customer service- do not call your customers liars. Even if we did forget, you apologize and get it out as fast as possible. But we did order it, the table next to us confirmed it when they whispered over to us afterwards. It was an awkward situation and it took us a year to come back. Luckily the service was good that night but the waitress was still there, glad she wasn't ours again!

This place was great! We don't live in the area but wanted somewhere we could take our 21 month old for dinner. Highly recommend their fresh mozzarella bites! Very lightly breaded- mainly big gooey yummy bites of cheese! We got the Lasagna pizza but I wouldn't get it again- the ricotta was a bad idea- the pizza was so soggy you couldn't pick it up to eat not serve it off the plate. The crust and toppings were delicious though! Overall great experience
(4)Mikel I.
Best pizza ever! Great little hole in the wall that we found after a washed out reds game. Parking was ok and breadsticks were not my favorite, but the boneless buffalo wings more than made up for it. We ordered 3 different pizzas and wings and did not have to wait extra long. The pizza had the right amount of sauce and perfect sizes. I recommend this place to anyone visiting Newport or Cincy.
(5)M B.
Been eating pizza here for years, but the last few times, was very disapointed. Toppings were skimpy, at least 3 or more inches of crust showing. Bill was high, and only worth half the money. There are other pizza places I can order from. Will give NPP a break and not patronize this establishment. Very dissapointed!
(2)Laura R.
Used to be one of my favorite pizza places until they decided one day to 'not deliver that far' after 8 months of delivery. Jet's in Newport is farther away from me than them and they STILL deliver to me. As a side note...I'm only 8 minutes from them including traffic. This is just pure laziness.

Gourmet toppings and such flavorful pizza. SO MANY TOPPING OPTIONS. I love how quaint it is and they have an outdoor seating option. The thing that gets me every time is the spinach artichoke dip. I can't come in here and NOT get the spinach artichoke dip. I don't know how many different cheeses they use in it, but it's seriously like I'm eating Heaven. Heaven literally melts in my mouth. If you are a pizza person, you really have to come here. Try it once and you'll stop in every time you find yourself in Newport.
(5)Jenny B.
Thoroughly disappointed and kind of grossed out here. The place is small which isn't a bad thing. But when the other patrons children are screaming at the top of their lungs you are wishing the place was bigger. Not to mention the owner heard it and was also rolling his eyes but did nothing - even when everyone else was starring at the children screaming. That to me is a big let down - it's the owners responsibility to take control of his own restaurant for the other patrons trying to have a nice dinner. Now the food - the crust is a big thing in pizza and when I chew longer than I need to it's no bueno - chewy and dry. The toppings were decent - we got the Popeye which was decent. We sat at the bar and had a clear view of the kitchen and lines cooks. And I immediately wish we had sat somewhere else. Talk about health code violations. The kitchen was dingy, and the walls were covered in some sort of grime. And then I see the line cook with an order up - with a nice beard and NO beard net. I am expecting to be getting sick later. Next time I am waiting the hour for Strong's. These are things that to me could really be fixed easily with some attention.

One of the best around! Great staff, nice ambience, great food! Loved the pineapple pizza, fried mozzarella, and the caprese salad.
(5)Sarah C.
Great topping selections, great crust and sauce, and great beer selection! Definitely get the fried mozzarella balls!
(5)Miranda M.
I saw a sign saying pizza by the slice I thought perfect for me and my husband, but it was awful. We had 2 slices of pepperoni pizza they had hardly any sauce and was burnt almost as if they had been reheated 3 or 4 times. It was gross, were never going back.
(1)Bari H.
Used to order the antipasta all the time which comes with wonderful garlic flat bread(?), when I asked for extra I was given some big fat Wonder bread type soaked in LBA (liquid butter alternative) and garlic powder, when I complained they said you had to pay for more garlic bread and that was what the side of garlic bread was. Never order that again. Gave them one more shot and ordered a pizza for delivery, green peppers don't like me any better than I like them so I asked to sub olives, was told no, the owner doesn't allow substitutions. I'm done. Only gave the second star because when I could get what I want, the way I wanted, it was pretty good, but after 40 years as a chef I have never told a customer what they were going to eat...might beg them not to get the steak well done but wouldn't refuse! Bad business!
(2)Robbie B.
Better pizza than you expect from a local pizza joint. I ordered the "Monmouth", so many toppings that they all slid off the slightly undercooked pizza dough. I found a hair in my pizza (it happens) but over all, pizza was fabulous and they have Pepsi products AND delivered to my hotel room after midnight. So I was pretty excited, and hungry. Would definitely eat here again (just without the hair please :P )
(4)Adam B.
the Hawaiian pizza (aka "the pineapple express") is very good. nice little bar /Pizzeria. Has Tvs to watch sports
(4)Leah K.
I have been living in the area for about five months now and I still rely on yelp for everything. This place is a small, but it's a good date-night place or even just a casual in-and-out dinner. They were busy when we went, so we had to sit at the bar, but I'm not complaining because the staff was super friendly and it gave us a chance to talk to them. I am assuming that one of the men there was either the owner or manager and he was extremely nice. We ordered the Pineapple Express pizza (bacon, ham, pepperoni, and pineapple) and couldn't get enough! Luckily we ordered a large and had leftovers for the next day. They have a nice beer selection too with some pretty good specials. I will definitely be back soon, ready to try something new! I would have to say out of all the pizza places that we have tried (which are quite a few...) this place has the best pizza by a long shot.
(4)Ae B.
I ordered delivery, I was not impressed, the flavor was ok, but the crust was too thin, the toppings sparse, and to top it off it was cold. Scratch this one off my list. Make it hotter, add more toppings and drop price!
(2)Chad H.
This place is dynamite. I'm a bit a pizza connoisseur, and I have an affinity for very simple delicious fare done well and this place delivers. If you go, you HAVE to get the fried mozzarella. They hand cut it into delicious golden fried squares of awesomeness! But you really can't go wrong with any order. This place is officially dubbed as our regular pizza joint! Keep up the good work Newport Pizza Co. and we'll keep eating
(5)Adam B.
I was a little worried about the less than favorable reviews here lately. I've been to Newport Pizza on a few occasions previously and was always pleased. We had a sausage, black olive, and anchovy (yes, someone actually eats them) pizza and it was delicious. We sat at the bar, as they were pretty full when we arrived. I have to say the service was not great. While we received our food quickly, we had to ask twice to get a water and they didn't really speak much. I don't expect a chatty waitress/waiter but I do expect, if you are working on tips, to get a "how's the food? Need anything?" once in a while. Newport Pizza will stay on our list of pizza places.

The Pizza of the Month is the thing to get.
(4)Lauren B.
Oh. My. Goodness. Best pizza south of Cincinnati. A coworker bought a tomato spinach white sauce pie into work one day and was absolutely wowed and hooked. My friends and I then ordered the Pepperoni in Paradise and the Wiseguy, along with a side of their Boardwalk fries. All were fantastic. The Wiseguy in particular was a hit-- the italian meats on the pizza was perfect. And the crust totally made it-- chewy and perfectly crisp on the edges. I'll definitely be back time and again!
(5)Michele M.
Best thin pizza around. Garlic bread with cheese fantastic. Just wish it was a little more consistent with whoever makes the pizzas.
(4)Chris O.
Let me summarize what is an apparent trend if you read the reviews from the past year: Slow, un-attentive service, underwhelming pizza that tastes like Chef Boyardee is working the line in the back, and a general atmosphere of "meh" are what you can expect. I urge you not to settle for this place just because it's there and it's local. I'm usually all for supporting the little guy, but in this situation, you're better off going to Dewey's (a chain restaurant) a couple blocks north and getting a solid experience. Better yet, if you want to shell out a little more, hop over the river to A Tavola in OTR where you'll be treated like a king and served amazing food. Goodfella's in Covington also has stellar pizza and fast service. I don't work for those other places, just simply had a distinctly bad experience at Newport Pizza Co, very similar to other recent reviewers. In the age of online reviews, there's no excuse to be so lackadaisical about your service and product. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
(2)Anye F.
Decent thin crust pizza, though I didn't think the meatball lasagna pizza was as good as other reviewers suggested. Ricotta just didn't work. The meatballs & sausage were good though. It's not too filling - one large was not really enough to fill our family of four. But, the quality and flavor were good overall. If you live nearby it's worth visiting, but it's not a destination.
(4)Karen H.
I can't complain about the food, just the sneaky pricing. Server tells us they do "half and half: pizzas. So we order one, and was charged $24 for what was listed as a $16.99 large pizza. When we questioned her, she told us they do full pricing on the toppings on the second half. What? Then you don't do half and half. Figured she just screwed up, called and asked for the manager today. Nope, the $24 was correct. So, to be clear, DO NOT ORDER HALF AND HALF OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED NEARLY DOUBLE.
(2)Stephen G.
I'm beginning to think Newport Pizza has lost the plot a little. What _was_ a great pizza joint is now a decidedly average pizza joint, the owners maybe taking their eye off the ball in recent months. Twice in the past few months we have been there. The first time service was slow and indifferent, the pizza FAR less tasty than the kind we used to rave about when it first opened. The second time we found the service was better, but the pizza was served up all wrong. We ordered a half & half on their special Tuscany pizza, half with bacon, half without for my vegetarian wife. When it arrived the server could not be sure which half was bacon-free and which half was not, and left us to work it out for ourselves. (??!!) Turned out that just TWO slices were free of bacon, meaning a) I had more pizza than I could eat and 2) my wife had considerably less than she wanted. The manager came out and apologised and comped us half off the pizza - something better, I suppose, than nothing but didn't seem overly concerned at all. Maybe this kind of nonsense happens all the time and he was just tired of dealing with it? Add all this to the discovery of a filthy fork when I unwrapped my cutlery from the napkin and....well.... I guess we won't be back in any kind of a hurry.
(2)Sarah F.
This place was a bit more of a hole in the wall than I was expecting, but that could have also boded well for the pizza so I was game. As a nice bonus, I snagged a spot there in the small, dedicated parking lot on the side of the building. The place was full on a Sunday evening, but we didn't feel rushed at all; in fact our server was really nice and even kept refilling our drinks when we had long finished eating. My only complaint on the physical space is that it was quite warm inside--maybe the combo of the small area and sun streaming through the plate glass window we were sitting in front of, but could have used a stronger blast of A/C. My friend got the Spaghetti Knob Bocce Ball--perhaps more for the name than anything, but seemed to enjoy it very much. I went for the pizza: BBQ chicken. I wished it had a couple more toppings than just chicken and red onion, but figured I'd give it a shot as it came. There are lots of specialty pizzas to chose from in 12' and 16' sizes, plus a whiteboard with available ingredients on the wall. The BBQ sauce on the pizza was tangy and cheese was plentiful. The chicken was a tad skimpy and the red onion unevenly distributed, but all in all, good toppings. The crust was unexceptional. To me, if you're going to open a restaurant centered around pizza, you better have something special crust-wise, and this wholly unremarkable. Not bad, just not good. It's a good alternative to the madness of the Levee for pizza in Newport, but I'm hoping some inspiration strikes for crust improvement soon!
(3)Jessica D.
We did it again and numerous other times between this review and the last. Awesome every time!

We came into Newport Pizza before heading to a show, but we had plenty of time. They were packed and there was a bit of a wait, but only a few minutes and we were seated. It's very small and comfy inside, with pieces of Newport nostalgia all over the walls. They have a good rotating beer selection, so we ordered some while we checked out the menu. There was the usual pizza place menu items, with some interesting looking specialties. We ordered a large and a medium as there were four of us, and the pizza came out in no time. One was the Buffalo and the other was a classic pepperoni. The Buffalo had some good bleu cheese crumbles on it, and was a hit with everyone at the table and myself. Of course the pep was good; you just can't go wrong! The service is friendly, the pizza is good, and it's nestled right in the heart of Newport, so from there you can head to the Levee, Covington, downtown, or wherever your pizza-loving heart desires!

Second visit to Newport Pizza Co. and the food is still amazing. Last week a friend brought over the Cincinnatus pizza for dinner and oh my god. It was so good that I had to take my fiancé there a few days later for him to try it. We went on $10 specialty pizza Monday (which they don't actually advertise for... Anywhere!) and tried the Lottsa Mottza pizza as well. Both were very good and extremely flavorful. Our server was attentive and made sure our drinks were always full. When we visited NPC, it wasn't very busy for a Monday evening and we were able to quickly get a table and our drinks within 5 minutes of sitting down. I love coming here and plan on making this my go to pizza joint from now on!

Date and I hadn't been to a mutual List Place* in a while (read: a couple of weeks), so I suggested this New York-style pizza joint as a convenient meeting place to go for when we met up with my best friend and her F-word**. Boy, I'm glad we did, too. Location: Newport Pizza Co. is situated in an old building on Monmouth at the corner of 6th in, well, Newport. There is a very small lot behind the place, and there is a lot of street parking-- at least during non-peak hours, and I'm sure on weekend nights the parking is much slimmer pickin's. But the building's façade is really cool, and I liked that a lot. Atmosphere: Pretty standard here. It was colder inside--literally and figuratively, seeing as the floor was tiled, the tables and chairs aren't anything worth writing home about, and we were sitting by the entrance. The atmosphere was obviously not a super high priority and, as long as the food impressed, all that mattered was the company we were with. It was formal enough for a meeting place to house a "double date" but it was informal enough to where we could be loud and share laughs and apparently slop spinach artichoke on one's dress without feeling like a total goon (that may or may not have been me). All around it wasn't a total dive, but it wasn't super nice either--about what you'd expect from a pizza joint, though maybe infinitesimally nicer than your neighborhood Pizza Hut. Food: Impress, it did. The greater Cincinnati area isn't known for its stellar pizza, and the fare available at NPC was very good. There were a number of specialty pizzas available in addition to building your own (of sorts), appetizers, salads, and other Italian dishes. Best Friend and her F-word opted for spinach artichoke dip and cheesy garlic bread to start. The spinach artichoke dip was really good, while the cheesy garlic bread was pretty standard if not above average. The two of them then opted for a 16" pepperoni pizza while Date and I got a half Meatball, half Cincinnatus 12" pizza. The meatball portion featured, well, meatballs, ricotta, parmesan, Italian sausage, mozzarella, and provolone, and the Cincinnatus boasted cream cheese, Cincinnati chili, and sharp cheddar. Oh, the Cincinnatus! While I don't love Cincinnati-style chili (or Skyline for that matter), I'm a self-proclaimed Skyline Dip junkie, and this definitely gave me my fix. When I first saw this treat on the menu, I was equal parts terrified and intrigued. Color me entirely impressed and intrigued at this point. Anyone who likes Skyline Dip needs this immediately. My favorite part of the meal, hands down. Overall Grade: B- [out of a possible A+] The food was great. The company was awesome. The building was really cool. Our service was not bad but not great. The interior was unimpressive. The overall experience was pretty great, but not the best. But for pizza in the greater Cincinnati area, this is absolutely upper echelon. *For those who don't know, this whole thing started as me creating a list of 70+ restaurants for Date to visit throughout 2013. My list evolved from there and I removed places I'd been and added entertainment venues and other Cincinnati specialties. Some of these places appear on his AND my lists. This is one of them. **She's engaged to the guy. Some may call him her future husband or future baby dad. I refuse to use the F-word because it makes me uncomfortable.

Got this yesterday went crazy and ordered a bunch of different pizzas, a Monmouth cincinnatis and a meatball lasagna pizza, with some boneless wings, now the Monmouth was delicious but nothing you couldn't get from a chain pizza place, the cincinnatis was underwhelming but okay and the meatball lasagna well at least the meatballs were great. The wings were just nasty and had no flavor do not recommend them if you try this place.

Completely disappointed in our February Saturday night dine-in visit. Our table was right beside the poorly sealed door, so my date froze even with her coat on. Inadequate seating in an under lit, unattractive dining room. I ordered a bottle of Great Lakes that took 10 minutes (date's soda came out in less than 2-3) and was warm. It also was nearly 3 months older than the recommended serve by date. The waitress offered a glass only to come back nearly at the end of the meal to state they are out of glasses. Suffice it to say the Caribbean specialty pizza was no better. Cheaply topped with peppery chicken, pineapple, an underwhelming dusting of cheese, and a complete absence of sauce or oil. It went unfinished, which is VERY rare for us when pizza is involved. There is a far superior pie within walking distance...

I feel like I've never had a bad experience on Monmouth Street. La Mexicana, The Pepper Pod, and, of course, the Falcon Theatre. All fantastic! Keeping this streak alive: Newport Pizza Company. This is a business that has clearly been around forever. It's not so much of a dive as a home away from home - very comfortable, very friendly. It's a one-room medium sized restaurant with a bunch of tables. In the warmer weather, you can sit outside as well, which is nice. The staff almost feels like family of someone you know, like a friend's kid sister coming to take your order. Again, very peaceful atmosphere. It's a one sheet, two-sided menu, mostly taken up by pizza choices. And what choices! Delicious pies of all kinds - kinds for meat lovers, kinds for vegetarians, kinds that have chili on them and are for Cincinnatians. The pies, the pies, the pies! I got the Meatball Lasagna Pizza: ricotta cheese, pizza sauce, mozzarella, provolone and parmesan topped with Italian sausage, and homemade meatballs. And it was delicious! Hot, flavorful, awesome. Only two small complaints - one, it is very slow. I have absolutely nowhere to go that night so I had time to kill, but it takes a surprisingly amount of time for pizza. The other was the pizza itself, which, while delicious, kept falling apart in my hands. Not a study slice. But it didn't matter. The food and the atmopshere was so good, I was happy just to sit there and munch down.
(4)David C.
I've been to NPCo. numerous times, every time the pizza is great. The price is slightly higher than your average pizza chain, but the quality is much higher. The pizzas usually take about 15 mins from my experience, they have some salads and a selection of beer. Save room for chocolate chip cookies. Oh, yes, you can save some dough by visiting on Monday which is $10 pizza night. That is when we usually visit. A good alternative to Dewey's - you can avoid the parking situation at the Levee.

I was very impressed with Newport Pizza Company. Pizza is the best food and generally I enjoy all of it. That being said, I know the difference between alright pizza and excellent pizza. I also do not judge strictly on taste. Price to tasty ratio is an important consideration for me. Pizza should be a food for everyone. NPCo. nails it. I would be happy to pay 20 dollars for one of these discs of happiness but you don't have to! The crust was perfect, crispy but still chewy with it's own flavor and the topping were evenly disbursed and of top notch quality. While the pizza is the star of the show don't miss some of the other great offering. My group enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip, some of the best I've ever had. While we enjoyed our meal I saw several sandwiches and other items leave the kitchen and they all looked and smelled great. The dining room has the perfect pizza parlor ambiance which only adds to the glorious food. All these element combined to make the Newport Pizza Company somewhere I plan, and look forward to, going again.

Newport Pizza Company is amazing! I have been here or have ordered delivery multiple times and have not been disappointed at anytime. The Monmouth pizza and meatball lasagna pizza are a must try! Also a great beer menu, full of seasonal favorites!

My husband and I hadn't been to the Newport Pizza Company in a while. Last night, we found ourselves looking for a [less busy] late night spot. Upon calling, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that their dining room is open until 1am. How convenient! We had never actually eaten in before (they do delivery and carry out), so we thought we'd give it a go. Parking: They have their own lot just to the right of the building. Free for customers. Very convenient! The space: Small but open. Clean. Tables, big booths, and a small bar. They also have multiple, pretty large flats screens for watching sports. TV can be pretty intrusive at restaurants sometimes, so I have to give them props for not having the TV on different channels or having them so loud that you can't hear yourself talking. It's a random pleasantry, but appreciated. Service: Our server was friendly. She was not too intrusive, yet made sure we had everything we need. No problems here. The food: We started with an appetizer of fried mozzarella. I'm sometimes leery of getting these, as so many places have horrible, processed versions, but these were really great. Some of the best I've had, in fact. Large, fresh cubes of mozzarella that were obviously hand-made. They had a great crunchy, well-seasoned coating. The serving size was also large enough to feed multiple people. For our pie, we decided on a simple pepperoni, which Newport dubs their "Perfect Pepperoni." While not perfect, it is pretty close. It's one of my favorite in the city. The crust is well seasoned and thin with some bubbling and char, though perhaps lacking a bit in overall texture. Their red sauce is good and not too sweet. The cheese and pepperoni are pretty standard, but I they get kicked up a notch by the amount of brown bubbling that Newport gets on the top. Overall, the pie is a bit on the greasy side, but really tasty. The only negative for me was that they carry Pepsi products. I know some people are fans, but...I just can't. Luckily, they have an okay beer and wine selection. Price: Newport is somewhere we'll continue to work into our weekend pizza rotation. It's close, tasty, and affordable. We got out for under $30, including a generous tip. That's not bad considering how pricey pizza has become in this city.

I love, love, love Newpot Pizza. The small little building located in Newport is cute - wood floors, brick outside, small bar. It's charming and I love coming in here. Plus they have one of those awesome arcade tables. The food is amazing. The boardwalk fries here are a must have - I can eat the whole basket on my own and that is saying a lot. I usually have to. I cannot stop eating them. They are my favorite fries, ever. So, so, so, so good. Another good appetizer is their massive fried mozzarella - it's like golf balls of mozzarella deep fried. It is delicious - but it's a lot of cheese. It's worth it though, just don't order it on your own (or as a twosome. Get it with a group.) I also enjoy the fact they have Woodchuck in the bottle. But like half of my reviews talk about cider. I am biased about pretty much any place with cider on tap, not usually in the bottle, but I could care less what they have here in terms of drinks. They do have a good little selection of micro brews and what not to go with the deliciousness. The pizza is amazing. Thinish crust that is butter and delicious but not overpowering, good sauce, and great cheese. We love their toppings - especially getting potato on our pizza! Yum! I always get good service, friendly people, and just overall a great experience here.

I am a boring, plain pizza lover and had seen the Highland Country Club on the menu for years. Finally ordered it and it's best uncommon pizza I've ever had! It's like a pizza and salad combined with the romaine and ranch dressing drizzled on top. My words cannot express how awkward the description is yet how amazing the pizza tastes. Love everything else they do too :) Staff is friendly, prompt, open semi late, also excellent steak hoagies. Leave the Levee and go 2-3 blocks down Monmouth for this independent pizza parlor with good beer selection.

Another promising local pizza joint dragged down into "average" territory by subpar crust. Newport Pizza Company has a lot going for it: An inviting and cozy corner-bar atmosphere (even though the restaurant opened in 2009, it feels like it's been here in "downtown" Newport for years); an excellent, well-balanced beer list; reasonable prices; decent salads; friendly and efficient service, etc. And the pizza itself has its qualities: bold-tasting tomato sauce, seemingly good cheese, and fresh-tasting toppings. Flavor-wise, the sauce and toppings get a big thumbs-up. But what is the deal with this pizza crust? It's soggy, floppy, spongy, and pretty flavorless. You can barely pick this pizza up and eat it with your hands, much less fold it to get that satisfying New York-style experience. Why do Cincy-area pizza joints have such trouble with crust? Is it something in the water in the Cincinnati area? (The water is often given substantial credit for the excellence of New York City's pizza & bagels. Is there something in the water here in the tri-State that has the opposite effect and turns crust into flaccid pablum?) Are kitchens baking the crust at too low a temperature? Or is this just the way locals, conditioned on childhood LaRosa's memories, like their pizza crust? Or do people just not care as long as the toppings and sauce are good? (I note that a lot of local Yelpers don't even mention crust when they review a pizza place.) Obviously, I'm in the minority here on Yelp when it comes to this place, as I seem to be with a lot of the local pizza joints, so take my judgment with a grain of salt.

The stars for this review are low--not because of my experience PRIOR to shift change, but after. Let me preface the following by saying that my daughter and I stopped in after a great afternoon at the ballet, and we were lucky enough to get a wonderful server named "Chris" who, by all accounts, handled the room on her own. Another 2 top, a couple of regulars at the bar, and us. She was incredibly kind, a great server and took good care of her customers. Then came the "night shift". Three girls, one of whom, based on her exclamations had just gotten engaged hours before, which, obviously, is an exciting thing, but left her completely useless to do anything but discuss it with the other two girls who'd come on for the evening shift. They stood around like hens, chatting, backs to the floor, no interest in anything but themselves...After staring at them for what seemed like an eternity, I finally said, "Can I please have a box?" and then they scattered like roaches when you turn the light on, trying to appear busy. My sausage hoagy was yummy, my little one didn't eat her slice until later, but I know the pizza is always good, too. Chris was awesome, but if these three employees are any indication of what the service at night is all about, I think I'll stick with eating there during the daytime.

ahhhh lets see where to being on this place. If you like rude service, cooks who call you names because you sent back the mozerella balls that were frozen on the inside, then this is your place! I knew we were off to a bad start when we entered the joint on a saturday afternoon and the place was DEAD. We were served the moz. balls, and I took one bite and noticed the middle was FROZEN! I notified the waitress, and heard her tell the cook the issue. The cook proceeded to call me a liar and other names that YELP wont allow me to post. Since we were the only ones in this place, we heard everything that was said. The waitress came back to our table and said they were heating them up, acting like nothing just happened! We told her if the cook had a problem, to just cancel the appetizer and we would pay for our beers and leave. Her response " ok". Classy

If you are in the mood for a light pizza this is the fix for you. Today I got the "Garden of Eden" (Veggie Lover) pizza as a surprise for my wifey and it was quite ok. It did not bowl me over, but wifey liked it - she is the veggie lover.

I love trying new places and I love pizza. So..when I can bring 2 loves together...I yelp! My colleague, Greg B., suggested that we celebrate UK's National Championship victory by eating pizza and lunching at Newport Pizza Company. I couldn't hit the "yes" button on that invitation fast enough. I thought that since it was lunch time and there's only street parking, that finding a spot would be an issue. It wasn't at all. We found 2 spots right up front at a meter. We didn't have change so we had to run in to get some from the restaurant. There wasn't a problem in doing that at all. After feeding the meter we found a spot in a cozy booth by the door. The restaurant has all of its seating in one room. There's a few tables, bar seating and 3 booths to choose from. We were approached for service right away by a very sweet lady. She was very attentive and accomodating and offered some suggestions on the menu. Greg B. opted for their signature pizza and I went for the Veggie pizza and a house salad with ranch. (Even in a pizza shop, I'm trying to be healthy. Some one smack me.) My salad came to the table right away. If you've ever read any of my other reviews, you know the importance of good ranch to these tastebuds and I give this ranch an A+! Delicious! Our pizza came to the table not long after, hot and fresh. It smelled amazing and mine was loaded with veggies. They didn't skimp at all. Our great server provided me with additional ranch for my pizza as well. It was super! Greg enjoyed his pizza too. At least I think he did since he ate half of it! Our bill between the two of us was about $30 bucks. Not awful on price for 2 medium pizzas and a small salad. A little more than I'd like to spend on lunch. I would go back for dinner for sure. They seemed to have a pretty good selection of beer too. I definitely suggest this place for a dinner with friends, or family or even a low key date night.

Disclaimer: I did not go to Newport Pizza Co., I only had their pizza in a remote location. I really enjoyed NPC's pizza and would definitely have it again! I had thin crust cheese and pepperoni pizzas. The crust was a nice thinness for people who enjoy hand tossed crusts (which it may be, I'm not sure), and certainly enough cheese and pepperoni. I do like a hand tossed so I will certainly get Newport Pizza Co.'s pizza the next time I'm on Monmouth. I'd say just fine for three or four people.

I must state right away that I did not actually go to Newport Pizza. I was at an event where this pizza was given out. This event had cheese, peperoni, sausage, and tomato pizza available. I had a piece of cheese and a piece of sausage. I absolutely loved this pizza. I was so amazed at how great this pizza was. I was most definitely starving but still if you have not tried this pizza I would totally recommend that you do. The pizza is a thin crust which is my favorite. You will also find some bubbles in the dough (which in my opinion adds character. My siblings and I used to fight over who got the slice with the bubble). The sauce was perfect and the cheese on the pizza was super yummy and thick. My stomach would only allow for 2 pieces but my heart and soul wanted to eat at least 3 or 4. I cannot wait to splurge and actually go to this place. Since I have moved to Cincinnati I have been searching for a local pizza place that I actually love. I am very excited that I finally found one. I only wish I lived closer to this jem.

A different kind of pizza place! I loved that it wasn't huge. I could see every diner from where I was sitting. They have a nice bar with seating and a patio as well. I went on $10 pizza night when all of their standard offerIngs are $10, no matter if you choose the 12" or 16". It was a good pizza. The crust was just the right thickness. Toppings were plentiful. I was impressed with the beer selection, which changes seasonally. The service was ok. They were a little slow getting my check. The free wifi helped me pass that time. Newport Pizza Company is now officially on my great pizza list.

I want to rate this place better, but I just can't. I came here with my two friends on a Saturday afternoon, we are all bartenders/waitresses so I think we're pretty easy customers. The waitress was absolutely rude to us - she rolled her eyes at us when we asked for a pizza spade for the greasy, sloppy pizza, and then later she actually yelled at us when we asked for the hoagie we ordered that was never brought to our table. While we were half-way done eating our pizza, we had to ask for refills, which she slammed on the table. When we were done paying our bill, she actually came by the table before we'd left to take the receipt, looked at the tip, looked at us and made a face at us, like we stiffed her. If I had given customer service like that the only tip I would've gotten would be from management to find a new job. As for the food, the fried mozzarella appetizer is amazing! The pizza is hit or miss. Sometimes it's really good and other times its so greasy that you can hardly eat it. The garden of Eden is pretty good, and you can never go wrong with a good ol' pepperoni. They have a good beer selection and the owners are very nice and friendly. I'll keep coming back, but mostly because it's so conveniently close to my house.

This pizza place just opened last week in a space that has seen restaurants come and go on monmouth street over the last 20 some odd years, and I think this one just might have what it takes to stick around for the long haul. a friend told me that they had recently opened and i wanted to check it out so friday night it was. its a small space with a few big booths, a couple tables, and a bar, nothing too big. the menu is what you'd expect from a small pizza place. a few apps, some salads, a couple specialty pizzas, and sandwiches, and most importantly, the prices were reasonable ($12.75 for a 17" large) I wanted to try a couple different items so we got a large pepperoni pizza and the fried mozzarella. The fried mozza was beyond the normal cheese stick, it was fresh cubes of cheese hand dipped in batter and served with pizza sauce. I know i said prices were reasonable, but here it was a little pricey for just a few fried cheese cubes for 6.99. but still very good. the pizza though...oh man. the crust was slightly crunchy on the outside and light & fluffy on the inside. I'm having a hard time describing the taste and texture. maybe could use more salt, but that just nitpicking. you'll be hard-pressed to find some better pizza around i've been dying for a place like this. a mom and pop pizza shop that makes really good, new york-esque style thin crust pizza, stays open till 1 am on weeknights, 3 am on weekends, and serves beer(liquor license pending). this place will be seeing a good bit of me this summer and beyond.

It's a challenge to find good pizza in Cincinnati, but fear not! We have Newport Pizza Company! Newport Pizza opened up about a year ago at 6th and Monmouth Street. Inside, you'll feel like you stepped back into an episode of Saved By The Bell or Happy Days. The inviting local artwork and casual atmosphere will make you reminisce of that local hang out from your youth. Lining the walls are large booths, bright red in color. A chalkboard with several dozen, eccentric toppings are posted on the wall. There is also a rotating list of beers. Pizza comes in two sizes here: large and larger. The former is more than enough for two people, the latter could easily feed a group. The pies range from $10 to $15. There are also a variety of specialty pizzas on the menu. On Mondays, every pizza is $10.00! The fountain sodas really do taste better here, and I'm also a big fan of the chocolate chip cookies baked in the pizza oven. My favorite pie is Roma tomatoes, artichokes, and black olives with red sauce. If you like culinary adventures, try the Cincinnatus: cream cheese, Cincinnati chili, and shredded cheddar. Regardless of what toppings you order, the crust always comes out golden and delicious. I often see the owner working in the kitchen or visiting the tables. From time to time, he will bring out samples of new pizzas they're inventing. The waitresses have all been attentive and cheerful as well. The people here enjoy being a part of the Newport community. If you're in the mood for pizza, definitely come to Newport Pizza Company. They far surpass any of the pizza chains... plus they deliver!

One of the best discoveries upon moving to the Kentucky side of the river was Newport Pizza Company. There are plenty of pizza places, but this one does it right. They have different options than any other local places, and every one I've tried has been amazing. My favorite is the Highlands Country Club Pizza (without the lettuce). I really can't get enough of this. They also have a Meatball Lasagna Pizza that I could live on. If you ever feel you can't decide between some Cincinnati chili or a pizza, order the Cincinnatus: cream cheese, chili, and cheese on a pizza crust. Amazing. Today I was ready for a late brunch, but also wanted pizza. Newport Pizza Co had the perfect option for me. The Goettapalooza pizza. Oh yes. Goetta, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and gravy on a pizza. Hangover heaven. The atmosphere of the place is so-so. Pretty plain, but still feels cozy. They have a great beer selection, and the service is always friendly and fast. If you live in the Newport/Covington area, they also deliver, which pretty much made me the happiest girl in Covington.
(5)Célèste B.
The crust is wonderful (which makes my boyfriend happy) and the toppings are creative (which makes me happy), so this is a regular spot for us to eat when we're performing in Newport. The staff is always great and the service is fast. The beer selection is nice and the atmosphere is very comfortable.

One complaint many Cincinnatian's have is there aren't many options for pizza. I think this is a fairly solid complaint, we have our chains and our LaRosa's, but when the topic of pizza comes up there aren't a lot of independent pizza places brought up. Some day I would like to explore more pizza options in the area, I am sure there are some hidden gems. Newport Pizza Company is one of those hidden gems. When most go to Newport for pizza they will likely go to Dewey's, which is a very good choice. If you are looking for something different, go a couple blocks north on Monmouth to Newport Pizza Company. It's a small restaurant, but comfortable and has Cincinnati related decor. The menu is mostly pizza related, not many other options. I wouldn't say its a small menu though because they do have a lot of specialty pizza. The one pizza that I really want to try is The Cincinnatus, which is basically "Skyline Dip" on a pizza crust. Its a combination of two of my favorite foods, so next time I go will try it. On my visit I went with the perfect pepperoni. It comes out very hot straight from the oven. I really enjoyed the flavor of the cheese and pepperoni. There is only one style of crust to choose from. The crust is a thinner one, not quite New York style, but pretty good. One other aspect I like about Newport Pizza Company is their beer selection. They have a wide varieties of beers to choose from, they got your standard Buds and Millers, and also lots of craft beers. I wouldn't say Newport Pizza Company is my favorite in the area, but it is one of the better pies I've had. If you are a pizza lover and looking for something new, I recommend it.

good new York style pizza. cute building ( great for a easy date night).. It was slow when we got there.. Only has bottled beer ( and not a large choice).. a good place to go to when you ve had Dewy s too many times..

Three stars are about the most I'll give any pizza place - that's my prejudice. Pizza places (mostly chains) always seem like con jobs. Some enterprising economic student is going to blow the lid off of what must be obscene margins that Pizza places are able to charge. That being said, I didn't mind this place. I got take out - 1 large Monmouth and a small cheese pizza - $27. Again, my prejudice against pizza. If I'd brought the family here I could of racked up to $50 easy - for about $5 worth of ingredients. But I'll give credit - the Monmouth tasted good. It wasn't LaRosa's. I just wish pizza places would spend just a little time learning to bake crust. Just a 20% push in that direction would make so many pizzas better and take the sting out of the price. But like all guys who once attended any large mid-western university I get the craving for pizza and from now on Newport Pizza Company will be it. My only complaint was the wait staff. There were three that night - not busy at all - and two had a bored, I'm-not-going-to-look-anyone-in-the eye look about them. They almost made me want to say 'Look, honey, you work on tips. How's about a little smile? Won't kill you.'

C'mon fellow Yelpers! You cannot be serious with these reviews! I trusted you, but was left overly disappointed. Liz A., I should have trusted your lone review. I am not sure what the attraction is about this place... When we first walked in, I spoke to the people next to me and asked what they ordered. They ordered 2 pizzas, 1 was the mozza and roma tomato pizza, which was described to me as 'very plain' and the other was The Zeus with chicken added and they did like it. We started off with the Asiago and Spinach dip, which was pretty tasty. Then we ordered the Highlands Country Club Pizza which had smoked turkey, bacon, cheddar, lettuce and tomato with ranch dressing on top. The only thing I liked about this pizza was the ranch dressing. I was not a fan of the crust AT ALL. The smoked turkey struck me as smoked mystery meat. The toppings were minimal, it was dry and chewy. Someone in our group ordered the special, which was fried cod. And WOW, special it was! It was a disgusting sight. I didn't even try it. I think it was fried the day before and microwaved special for us. It was a mushy, soggy mess. GROSS! I pass, thanks.

I've eaten in and ordered delivery here before, and every time has brought me quality food and service. Delicious pizzas!

Every once in a while I'm in the mood for a really really good pizza with fresh ingredients that comes to the table steaming hot washed down with good beer for an excellent price knowing I can burn off the calories walking a couple of blocks to the levee while looking down on masses awaiting a table at Dewey's. That is when I am at Newport Pizza Company. It might be easy to miss this place, perched on the corner a couple of blocks off the levee, but once you are inside this cozy establishment, you'll never forget it. It's always busy and frequented by groups so tables might be hard to come by and walls of windows keep the inside warm.

I decided to try this place after reading do many good reviews. It was pretty good. I don't think it was amazing, but I liked it. For an appetizer we had the fried mozzarella. I loved it! Instead of being cheese sticks, they were enormous cheese cubes so you get a huge bit of cheese. They didn't give enough marinara sauce to dip them in though, and they were so busy that I didn't get a chance to ask for more so we just ate the last couple of them plain. We specifically went on a Monday, to get the $10.00 for any pizza deal. We ordered the Monmoth without mushroom, which was really good. We also ordered the Cincinnatus to try it, which has chili & cheese on it. My husband thought it was okay, but I couldn't even finish half a slice. I thought it was awful... not just because of the ingredients, that might have been okay, but it was the greasiest pizza I've ever seen and that much grease just upsets my stomach. I'm not usually really picky about grease either, that was just loaded in it though! Our other pizza didn't even seem greasy at all, so I guess it's just the chili. The place is pretty small and it was so packed that there wasn't even a table when we got there. We tried to just place an order to go, but then we wouldn't have gotten the $10.00 deal so we just waited a few minutes. Other than that the service was pretty good. I didn't really like the fact that the pizzas were thin crust, but they didn't ask how we wanted them and I didn't think to bring it up so I'm not sure if that's just how all the pizza is made or if there is an option? Also the price is normally pretty expensive. The Monmoth was usually like $17.00... however the Monday $10.00 deal makes it cheap! I would definitely go back again on a Monday, but probably earlier in the day so it would be faster to get a table, and next time we'll just go with the one pizza.

How is it that I've never written a review of this place?? My family eats here about once a week, usually on Mondays when all pizzas are $10. Here's the run down of what I love about Newport Pizza: * Consistency: NPC uses fresh ingredients in their salads and pizzas, and the service is always fast and friendly. * Variety: I'm the kind of gal who orders something different every time I go to a restaurant, and my visits here are no different. My adventures have paid off because the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Highland County Club and Meatball Lasagna are awesome. But for the truly brave, order the Cincinnatus. The chili-cheese covered monstrosity is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G but not for the faint of heart. * Creamy Garlic Dressing: Great on salads and on pizza * Deep-fried cheese nuggets: Just looking at these puppies gives me heart palpitations but they are so worth it. You have never seen friend hunks of cheese so huge. My advice is to try the craziest thing that sounds good to you. You won't be disapointed.

It's funny the things you crave when you can't have them. You see, I'm over here in Baghdad with the Ohio National Guard for a year. The other night, my wife asked me what my first meal would be when I came home on my 2 week pass. Without so much as a moment to contemplate, I said Newport Pizza Company. Thoughts of perfect pepperoni pizzas and the best boneless wings I've had in forever flood my mind. Seriously, they do put an addictive substance that makes you crave it fortnightly! I cannot wait to come home in July and head straight over to Newport even before I get home to knock the dust off of my uniform!

The best cheese balls! Alright, so that introductory sentence sounds a bit on the pornographic side, I know. But it is entirely appropriate; in both ways. Some friends and I stopped in after the Yelp Eats! event for an entire meal, instead of the bite-sized food served at the event. No, that was not a knock on the event as Yelp forewarned us that the food at the event was to be bites, and we should prepare for larger meals elsewhere. The girlfriend and I ordered the fried cheese appetizer. I was thinking your typical cheese sticks. But the monster-sized fried cheese balls that were set before us was a surprise. A really pleasant, food porn surprise. Delicious does not even begin to describe how wonderful they were. They don't quite rival Mayberry's Tater-tot casserole in the category of appetizer/side dish, but it ranks right up there. I cannot recommend it enough...unless of course you have heart/artery problems. In which case, only eat a partial ball and leave it at that. No heart attacks, please. Unfortunately, the it was all downhill from there. The steak sandwich I got tasted like something you would get out of a school or hospital cafeteria. The meat was definitely one of those frozen, pre-processed patty things that I can't stand. Seriously, is is so hard to have fresh meat on hand that you can create a patty on-site? But, because I deviated away from the one thing this joint is known for--pizza--I'm not knocking them too hard. Well because of that and the balls. Oh, the cheesy fried balls!
(3)Rob H.
The pizza is among the best in town. Consistently good service. They have a variety of good but not too expensive beer and wine. Nice to sit outside until the kids notice the 'Brass Unicorn' next door!
(4)Kelly R.
Who doesn't love a 16 inch $10 pizza? Well, if you don't - read no further. If you do - then you have to try Newport Pizza on Mondays, when they offer any pizza, any size for just $10! I have been there the last three Mondays and try something new each time and it's great! The pizza comes out fresh and hot and bubbly and oh so scrumptious. The staff are friendly and attentive. There is even a dedicated parking lot, which is a rarity in Newport. My only complaint (and reason they didn't get 5 stars) is the service can be slow. Drinks are quick to come, but the food seems to take a while, even when it's not very busy.
(4)David G.
This is a nice neighborhood pizza place. They have good flavors and friendly staff.
(4)Carla G.
Really good bottled beer selection (nothing on draft), really like their pizza, but the menu item that blew us away from the fried mozzarella appetizer. These aren't some puny cheese sticks out of the freezer. As the menu says, they are hand cut cubes of mozzarella that are "lightly floured and spiced" served with their homemade pizza sauce. It's a good thing I don't live close to Newport Pizza Company because I would be there every day eating these.
(4)Marie E.
Wonderful Pizzas. We love the mozzarella cubes and BBQ chicken pizza. Good beer selection and friendly low key atmosphere. Also, is walking distance to the AMC movie theater. It is a great place to grab a quick cheap delicious meal before a movie.
(5)Chester L.
There is a lot to like about the Newport Pizza Company. Good parking, cozy atmosphere, interesting menu (Goetta Pizza FTW!), so we decided to give it a shot. We ordered Boardwalk Fries, the Antipasta App, and a Large Pepperoni pizza. The fries were nothing special (although we did appreciate that they gave us Malt vinegar to shake on them). The Anitpasta was AWFUL. Imagine if someone just threw a bunch of pizza toppings (salami, peperoni, peppers, mushrooms) in a basket with 4 little slices of bad bread, and a small hunk of parmesean cheese. and charged you $7.95. It looked bad, and was bad. Skip it. They did offer a roasted garlic bulb, but it was under roasted/hard and tasted like raw garlic. (which it was). The large pizza was a bit smaller than we expected, but we did like the sauce and cheese, but were hopping the crust would be a little chewier -- and we appreciated that they did not skimp on the pepperoni, it was covered in it. The service was excellent, and our food came hot and fresh just minutes after we ordered it. I think we might visit again, but only for the pizza -- skip the rest of the menu.
(3)Megan H.
Went for lunch and even though we were one of only two tables occupied, this place was a disaster. I will definitely not be back at lunch time. We ordered two pizzas. One was delivered in a reasonable amount of time but was missing a topping. The other? Well, we waited. And waited. And waited some more. We saw a pizza delivered to the other table that looked remarkably like ours. Then we waited some more. The waitress finally fessed up that our second pizza went to the other table and they were remaking ours. It would be out in 5 - 10 minutes. Ok, fine. That sort of thing happens. But guess what? Yep, we waited some more! At least 15 minutes more passed and still no pizza. The waitress was apologetic, but the damage was done. The worst part, really, was the manager - who noticed us waiting with only half our table eating pizza, came over and asked if everything was OK but never offered to comp anything or even apologize. I'd expect this sort of thing on a busy Saturday night but not at lunch time when the restaurant is empty and we clearly need to get back to work. To top it off, they couldn't figure out how to run my credit card and we waited another 15 mintues before I got fed up and offered to pay in cash. I gave two stars here because the pizza was really tasty. If I ever visit again, it will be carryout only.
(2)Brandy V.
Delicious! I stumbled upon this restaurant with a girlfriend one night when we were looking for somewhere affordable and fast. The garlic bread is amazing! I could have eaten the whole pizza by myself!
(4)Andi C.
Huge fans. I would give them five stars if they added more toppings and specialty pizzas, but this is a regular in our place on Friday night.
(4)Ashley R.
My favorite pizza joint in the area hands down! We love some Newport Pizza Company pies and make it a staple when friends come in from out of town and we are looking for a leisurely lunch. They have a great selection of pizza, which I really enjoy, and I particularly love their "Monmouth" style, named after the street they can be found on. Their pizza is the right combination of sauce, cheese and toppings (which to me means generous on all) and they bake it to perfection. You know, when the cheese just starts to bubble and brown and the edges of the veggies just start to curl up? YUM! They also have a great beer selection and a great atmosphere. Located in downtown Newport there is something so old school pizzareia about the red checkered curtains and the booths with duct tape patches that just make you remember how you imagined your teenage years. :) Oh, and did I mention they have a parking lot? Well they do, which is quite a commodity for restaurants around this area and makes it supper convenient to stop in for a bite or run in and pick up a pie for carryout! The staff is super friendly and they keep refilling your drinks for as long as you and your friends stay to linger over your unique and tasty pizza. I would definitely recommend stopping by and trying a traditional cheese and pepperoni or taking a more adventurous route with any of their interesting topping options. I'm sure whatever you choose you will leave wanting to come back!
(5)Jessica K.
I live a couple blocks from Newport Pizza Company so I've eaten there more than a few times! I love it. Great pizza! I love the caprese salad and the mozzarella balls are so yummy!
(5)Rob K.
Bravo! Old-style pizza in an old-style setting. And walking distance to the rest of Newport. Four of us went and we took advantage of $10 Mondays - any pizza, including their specialty pizzas, for ten bucks. Four larges were ordered with the intent to have lunch covered the next day and we were already looking forward to the next day's lunch. The fifth star is withheld because of the line. Mondays are popular, so be prepared to wait for a seat. Also, the wait staff could have offered a drink while we were hanging out. But you're there for the pizza, afterall.

Great food and easy going atmosphere. Had the Cincinnati chili pizza tonight and it was delicious. What a crazy combination on a pizza. The highland country club pizza is also a hit! They have wood chuck in bottles... Makes this girl happy. They get really busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so do take out! It's delicious.

On a Saturday at around 3:30 we went in try it out. Boy am I glad we did!! We opted for the Perfect Pepperoni(extra cheese & double pepperoni), it was good but it was soooo greasy, I know, I know, I should have expected it because of the double pepperoni, but this was beyond expectations!! The crust is very good, but it is also very thin and with the excess amount of grease made it very hard to eat. Next time I will definitely go with single topped pepperoni! We got 2 appetizers, 3 beers, 2 kids drinks, 1 adult soda, large pizza, and dessert. Our bill was $29.15, very reasonably priced! We will definitely be back to eat more yummy Newport Pizza Company!!

Now this is what pizza should be. True, old-style pizza with great ingredients. I found out about NPC while at work. A co-owner of the place brought in some pizzas and I was blown away. The first one I had was their barbecue chicken and it was phenomenal. Just the right blend of sweet and spicy. The dough is pretty good too. When I actually went in to try them out in person, I really liked their restaurant too. It's just kitschy enough to pass the hipster cool test, yet accessible enough to be family-friendly, too. (which is good because I want them to actually make money and stick around.) I know that a lot of people fault them for being a little more expensive, but I say you get what you pay for. NPC is truly worthy of our patronage and I'd urge my friends to make it their main pizza place.

This place is one of my favorites in Newport. It has a really relaxed environment. Good for a night out with friends or dinner with the family. However, seating can be limited at times, especially on the weekends or Mondays when they have 10 dollar pizzas. If you're not a big fan of pizza, they also have hoagies, salads, and my personal favorite, the boneless wings which are delicious. If you've never been here, it's worth a try for sure.

This has to be one of my favorite pizzas in Greater Cincinnati! Why you ask? Well, let's just say I find most of the pizza choices in the area tolerable at best. Papa John's and Donato's are okay. Don't even talk about the other chains and well, LaRosa's sorry but it is downright disgusting. Newport Pizza Co. gets it just right. The best part about the pizza is the crust, neither too thin or too thick. We usually get the Monmouth. A great variety of toppings and not too much sauce. Perfection. Reminds me of my favorite pizza in all the world Greek's in Muncie, IN, but that is another review. The second best thing about this place, IMHO, is the vintage table top, two player Ms. Pac-Man machine. Bring quarters if you are planning to stay and eat!

I'd have to say this is easily the best pizza in town. I especially love going there on Monday's because all large specialty pizza's are 10 bucks! The toppings are fresh, wait staff is friendly and the mozzarella balls are to die for!

What a fun find! I hadn't been out for pizza for awhile and when my friend suggested it, I was underwhelmed with the idea the typical places. He suggested Newport Pizza Company. I had never been, so I happily agreed. We got there around 7 and there was a short wait. But the server brought us beers, making the wait much more tolerable. But this review is really about the food! The food was wonderful. The pizza was fresh and delicious. We got the Zeus, a pizza topped with tomatoes, garlic, spinach and feta cheese. I will definitely be coming here again.

So, I have never been inside of the Newport Pizza company, but when the BF brings home NPC takeout I know it will be top notch! I agree with everything Mike D. says. The prices are good and the food even better. When I first saw the sign on Monmouth I thought, hmm a pizza place, probably another greasy spoon. Boy was I wrong. I haven't had a bad meal from them yet. The crust is amazing, usually the reason I don't like pizza, I was not disappointed. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they made it in house, which I have found is a rarity. The fried mozzarella (or mozz balls as I like to call them) are yummy. And get garlic bread because it is garlic bread done right My favorite pizza so far has been the Lotsa Mozza, it is their Pizza Margherita and it is chuck full of garlic and amazing. I have also had the Pineapple Express and the Monmouth with equal satisfaction. Newport Pizza is my new favorite pizza. Sorry, Donato's but you have been bumped.

I just recently bought a house in NKY just up the street from Newport Pizza Company. I had driven passed the place a few times and never thought too much about it until My fiancé and I decided we wanted to order in. I wasn't sure that they delivered so I gave them a call and sure enough they did. I'm glad I called because it was the best pizza I have had in a long time! Great new york style pizza at a great price we ordered a large one topping with 2 orders of garlic bread for less than 20 bucks. For anybody interested in pizza from somewhere other than the big chains I absolutely recommend Newport Pizza Company!!

So, it's happened..!! I've had my 1st "REAL" 1st-Hand experience and I gotta say that I'm sticking to my original plan to 4-Star this za joint... Fresh outta the oven this za is a tasy freakin' addition to my list of favs..!!! The service didn't improve any, it was still as brilliant as I remembered. Yep, if you're in or around the neighborhood, in the mood for some delicious eats, I'd suggest that you go ahead and make an effort to search this joint out... Brilliant... Just sayin'...

The ingredients are fresh, the pizzas are big and came with plenty of toppings, the mozzarella balls are heart stoppingly amazing. The inside is a bit run down, could use a little sprucing up and they are a little stingy on the sauce. Maybe, its just not that "type" of pizza. I like to go on Mondays when they do 10 dollar any size pizzas. Definitely beats larosas in both quality and price. One of the best gourmet pizza joints in NKY. Give it a shot!

I stopped here for late dinner after movie on Sunday night. Our party was going to Dewey's at New Port but they closed at 9:00 and I found Newport Pizza Company opens until 11 PM. So we went there and booom!! It exceeded my expectation by far. We tried Zeus, Garden of Eden, Meatball Lasagna, and Buffalo Chicken. I loved them all. The cheese melted perfectly and the crust was just right - not too soft or hard. I am glad I found this place and will go back anytime I visit New Port area. My personal favorie was buffalo chicken - the pizza is simple enough but I am in love with the sauce!

Summary: good pizza with flavorful, decent ingredients. Good for those who prefer to support local businesses over repugnant corporate pizza chains. Went with 4 other people on a Monday night. Sat down at a good sized booth within 5 minutes of arrival; quite a shock, considering their $10-for-any-pizza special on Mondays. The restaurant was packed as expected, so being seated so quickly was an unexpected pleasure. For a small local restaurant, their beer selection was impressive. They had cheap favorites (PBR, Bud), but also a good variety of craft beers and styles (Red Hook ESB, Dogfish Head 60-min IPA, Unibroue La Fin Du Monde). Their menu is straightforward, but since this was Monday, we were here for the pizza. All relatively conventional; (1) The Monmouth (pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, onion, green pepper), (2) The Zeus (spinach, sliced roma tomato, ricotta cheese, mozarella cheese), and (3) the i-forgot-the-name, but it was a "Hawaiian" style pizza, w/ ham, pineapple, and bacon. Nothing out of the ordinary to be seen here; but the quality of the pizza was excellent. The ingredients were evenly distributed on each pizza without being overbearing. Onions and green peppers were both sliced quite thinly (the green peppers almost uniformly so, leading me to think they're ordered pre-sliced - not the most appealing thing to consider), so they were cooked consistently throughout the pizza. On the other hand, the ham was cubed on the Hawaiian, and was not uniformly so - a welcome change of pace from pizza places whose ingredients are more factory processed than that. They arrived hot and very quickly (within 10 minutes of ordering). The crust was cooked almost perfectly, having a near golden brown hue across, but more importantly, it was cooked consistently across the whole pizza. The presentation of the pizzas showed a kitchen who cared about what they produced and fed to us. Two concerns I noticed included space and salads. Their spinach salad had fresh ingredients on them, but few vegetables. On the upside, there was plenty of spinach; on the downside, there appeared to be at least 6 oz. (1.5 cups!) each of: hardboiled egg, bacon, and shredded mozarella cheese - and, for the bacon, that's a conservative estimate. That might be appealing to some people, but in the case of the salad, less is definitely more. Space is going to become a long-term issue for Newport Pizza Co. if they continue to grow. Their storefront is quite small (historically it was previously a catering-only business under the previous owner, for perhaps this reason) - I'd estimate that no more than 45-50 people can be in there at any given time. Parking is not an issue at all, as there is ample parking on both Monmouth and 6th, as well as a small lot of its own. But you can imagine that those tables fill up very quickly on Mondays. You can't be upset if you have a long wait on such a day - you've been warned, their cheap pizza night is no longer a secret, and they deserve all the business they get. But that's not to say I don't think they need some more space to work with - unfortunately, that's a long-term project that's far easier said than done. Newport Pizza Company does not do anything particularly adventurous with their pizza. Perhaps a case can be made for their Cincinnati Chili pizza, but almost all of their other items are conventional pizza/American-Italian fare. But good food does not need to be adventurous, and that it where Newport Pizza Co. excels. For those of us who love good, fresh pizza, but despise large pizza chains - or, more simply, prefer to support local businesses who deserve it - Newport Pizza Company is the place to go.

I found it to be a little on the greasy side, but they definitely have a decent beer selection.

Have been here twice since finding it. Absolutely love this place! The pizza is excellent! We are basic pizza people and normally stick with cheese and pep. We've not found a better pizza in NKY. Great sauce, chewy crust, plenty of cheese! What more could you want? They have a pretty decent beer selection also. During warm weather outside dining is an option with a nice bistro type setting. Prices are reasonable.

This is "art house" pizza. The quality of the ingredients is good and the pizza is tasty. The noise level inside the restaurant is a bit too much - nice to eat outside if the temperatures are below 90 (rare in KY in the summertime...) Staff is friendly, and the prices are very reasonable.

I just found out about Newport Pizza Co. last week & I'm hooked. The meatball lasagna pizza is especially good but everything I've had has been delicious. Definitely worth a trip to Newport.

Excellent pizzas!

very average, based on the reviews of this place you'd probably expect some pretty awesome pizza that just isn't the case. However, to be fair I wouldn't say it's bad either, just not good enough to think about unless you live extremely close.

pizza was okay, but it was wifey's choice. i plan on trying other pizzas here. got to meet the owner on a saturday night making dough. unusual and entertaining. service was good, place was clean. will try here again sometime.

mmmm. Had a great pizza here and only $10 for a large! Special on Mondays only but regular prices are pretty reasonable too. All specialty pizzas are included - they have a great variety. I had a Zeus - spinach, feta, romas, asiago cheese and lots of garlic.. Small friendly place, great beer selection too. Lizg

Stopped in here after the Pizza place up the street that we were trying to go to turned out to be pretty much just a take out joint. Newport pizza has friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great beer selection and tasty pizza options. Monday night $10 pizza special is very nice! Check it out rather than going to a chain restaurant "on the Levee."

Cute place. Nice and cozy. Decent pizza. Great service.

Stopped in on a whim on a wednesday afternoon. Pizza was good, not great. Prices are fair, if you know what ingredients cost. Service was very attentive. Atmosphere was casual & relaxing with a great musical selection being played, with video to boot! Nice job NPC!

it seems that everyone likes newport pizza company. i don't. to be fair, i have only been there once (today), but i was totally unimpressed. my list of complaints is as follows. 1. it is overpriced. a thin, 12 inch pizza ranges from about $10-13. are you serious? 2. the crust is bland and cracker-ish. 3. the toppings are meager. pictured above (sorry for the crappy cell phone pic) is the pizza i ordered, the "lotsa mozza and roma." please note that there is lotsa nothing. i actually took this picture to illustrate how little cheese and toppings i got. most of the slices were lucky if they had cheese on 2/3 of the slice. that might be ok if the crust was delicious but see #2. alternately, that might be ok if the pizza was cheap but see #1. 4. service is mediocre at best. the waitress did not check on us after bringing our food so i went up to the counter to ask for pizza sauce (because my pizza was so bland) and waited there staring at her for several minutes before i caught her attention. dude, one of your customers has hunted you down at the bar... you might want to see what i want. i asked her for sauce because the pizza was bland. she acted unsurprised (so umm... you already knew the pizza was bland?) but did not offer to bring me something else. she did promptly bring me a tiny cup of sauce... and it was ice cold. gee, thanks for the dollop of prego (i mean, if it was fresh, wouldn't it be warm?). sorry, i know i am being super bitchy, but there were like 4 tables and i was paying a lot (i thought) for a small, tasteless, disappointing pizza and it felt like a kick in the pants to not even get warm sauce. then, when we paid, she came back and took the tips off the table while we were still sitting there. isn't that waitressing 101? ok, i will stop being an asshole. 5. there was no flavor. my pizza was mozzarella, tomatoes, and a few tiny shreds of dried out basil. that's it. no garlic. no sauce. no nothing. for that i paid $11.25 plus tax and tip. i was with barry and bri and they got pizzas with more toppings that looked better, the meatball lasagna ($13.25) and the garden of eden ($12.25), and i tasted the lasagna one and it was better than mine anyway, but they were definitely not worth the price. 6. i ate at 5 pm and it's 10 pm and i'm hungry. i know everyone loves this place but i don't get it. i suppose i should give it another chance but with all the other really good pizza options around (ahem dewey's ahem) i don't really see the point.

Just tried NPC for the first time last week for lunch with a friend. She had the Caprise salad and I had a Caesar salad with no dressing. The lettuce was a little bitter but other than that I had no complaints. The Zeus pizza was outstanding with the spinach and crunchy crust rounding out a piping hot delicious pie. I loved the pizza and definitely will be coming back for more, just not sure if I'll add the salad next time. Definitely excited to bring my boyfriend back for the selection of craft beers.
(4)Jessica V.
The ambiance of the diner is nice. I heard they have good beer, however, I have not been back to try that yet. The pizza on the other hand was not the greatest. I had the buffalo chicken and it was not good at ALL. My husband had the extra pepperoni and it was a lot better. However, it still wasn't anything to brag about.

We just recently discovered this place! It is our go to pizza restaurant now. They have good pizzas at fair prices and an awesome beer selection. It is a great place to go hang out with friends. We have had the pineapple express pizza twice now and it only gets better every time we order it!
