Loved everything! We ordered the veggie samosas, which were served with 3 lovely sauces, chicken curry, served with rice, chicken biriyani~ level 8 spicy factor (we like heat)~served with a cool raita and we also got an order of garlic naan, because you have to have naan...their's is hot and fresh, even in delivery! So happy to have delicious Indian available to us here in the Cov. We opted for speedy delivery via grubhub ($25 min.). The portions are substantial and we had enough for lunch the following day which was great because I was craving this tasty food again by then!!

Great food, attentive service. Try the Chicken tandoori, it's delicious (and more food than you can eat alone). Glad to have delicious Indian food in Newport.

Great little place! Food is fantastic. I've been to the Clifton Indian restaurants (Amol India & others) many times, and this is definitely on par with those places. This location is smaller, but otherwise on par (sounds like in the past they served everything on to-go styrofoam, but when I was there they had plates & metal silverware). It's small (my guess is there might be a wait for a table sometimes on a weekend evening), but the place is clean and the service is prompt. And when we were there, they were able to accommodate a fairly large group (I'm guessing about 12 people) by pulling a couple of tables together. Highly recommended!

So glad to have an Indian restaurant in NKY! Living in Covington, my only option for Indian food was downtown Cincinnati - not convenient. I stumbled on Amol India almost by accident while browsing Yelp. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw it on Yelp! The first time I tried chicken curry, garlic naan, and vegetable samosa. Delicious is not generous enough a word to describe the food. Fresh, authentic, and very large portion sizes. I've been back a few times and can't say enough good things! Welcome to the neighborhood - we are glad you're here!

So grateful that Newport finally has an Indian restaurant! Their saag panner is hands down my favorite (the greens are so flavorful), although the lamb biryani is a close second. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up my carry out order to discover that they have added carpeting and upgraded the number/quality of their table seating. They now have six or eight tables as opposed to the two or so they had previously, making dining in a more appealing option.

Great Indian food! I love the Aloo Mater.
(5)Lauren A.
Excellent Food! Great Service! Have been here twice now ordered different meals each time and both were excellent Indian dishes! Definitely will be a regular here!
(4)Steven M.
I can't believe NKY FINALLY has an Indian restaurant!! Their delivery is through grubhub which makes for easy delivery experience. I got the chicken vindaloo (as always) not to tangy, not too sweet spice level 5 - perfect. My GF got the saag paneer which was also great. Great location, great delivery, great food. Keep it up amol.
(5)Helen P.
I love this place! The flood Ike delish. Just love the vegetarian selection . Plenty of free parking and the tea is yummy. Give this place a try

I am so happy to finally have an Indian place that delivers to my house! I recently moved to Bellevue, Ky from Clifton, where I used to have Indian options galore. The food was delicious with generous portions. My estimated delivery time was 45 minutes, but it only took 30. I will definitely eat here again!
(5)Marc L.
i picked up food for the first time this evening, i eat Indian food globally and in India, sorry although the food was pretty fresh. Very bland and could not identify any Indian spice, maybe its for the USA taste, sorry guys.
(1)Nate R.
Really excited to have an Indian restaurant in the area! Had chicken tikka masala here for lunch and it was great and reasonably priced at 7.99. It compares favorably to other area favorites e.g. Ambar in my opinion. Despite some of the early reviews stating they serve meals in styrofoam, I'm happy to report that is no longer the case - white tablecloths and regular plates/silverware. I know we'll be hitting this place up regularly, and I hope others will as well as I'd love to see this option stay open long term.
(4)Oliver C.
We had the Saag Paneer and the Paneer Masala for take out. Both were delicious and creamy without being overly greasy. Rice was good but could have been just a bit more consistently cooked. When I went to pick it up I met the delivery driver - will be going that route next time. Don't let the location deter you - this place is good.
(4)Priyanka G.
Was really craving Indian food in Cincy. This place hit the spot. Giant portion sizes, great food. I don't usually like eating Indian food outside since I cook Indian at home, but this place was awesome! Happy :)
(5)C M.
Love it. Try the chicken saag. Prices are normal for Indian food. Glad to have this in Newport
(5)Rachel R.
So very excited for Indian food in Newport! I just wish they used fresh vegetables. Last time we ordered I got veg curry and veggies were obviously frozen. With that improvement I would give them 5 stars for yumminess and service.
(3)Joe B.
Excellent service and food. Tried the lamb Rogan Josh and it was fantastic. Perfect spice and good sized portions left me satisfied.

I used to live in Chicago where we were surrounded with good Indian restaurants, but it's been difficult to find as many in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area. The food at the place is great. I was so excited when they opened and the word I was getting from people was that it was pretty good. My wife and I have ordered from here several times and so far it's been quite delicious. We usually get the Chicken Korma, Lamb Saag, Mattar Paneer, and of course, some garlic naan. One of the first times we ordered, they asked us how hot/spicy we like the food from 1-10. We tried a 6, which was good, but did leave us sweating throughout the meal. The next time we ordered, we dropped it down to a 3 and it was perfect. Probably can try bumping it up to a 4 or 5 next time. They could improve the decor some in the restaurant itself, maybe re-paint to get some warmer colors. But, overall, a great Indian restaurant.
(5)David K.
OK, it was awesome. Kind of cool to be the fifth person to yelp on this place. The food is very good. My wife and I went with vegetarian items, one with eggplant, Baingan Bharta, and the other was Saag Paneer with spinach and Indian cheese, though I though it was Tofu...... We shared the two dishes with garlic Naan, and will easily have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We ate in so it was all out of styrofoam but it didn't really matter. It kind of went with the atmosphere. It is a carry out place, after all. The server came around often with the water which was good. The owner stopped by our table to check on us to see if everything was going well. It was an overwhelming yes. The smells in the place made sitting there a pleasure. We were treated with Kheer, gratis, an Indian rice pudding, served cold. It was delicious and soothed my mouth after the spicy foods. It was a great end to a great meal. There were a good deal of folks coming in to pick up orders and others just walking in placing orders. I hope this is a good sign for their business in the future. The prices were in line with other local Indian establishments in the Cincinnati area. And now, it's awesome to have our own local Indian restaurant here close to home. Ya'll get down there and give them some business. It had us from......."may I help you?"
(5)Andrew E.
I am a frequent customer of this restaurant, and I love it! I have tried many Indian restaurants in Cincinnati, and Amol has the best service by far. The lunch menu is awesome and super affordable. Try the lamb saag!
(5)Krista W.
Awesome! Delicious food, fast and friendly service. I'm so glad there's now a good Indian place in northern Kentucky.
(5)Betty N.
App is good. The service is better. And the food is great. 5 stars plain and simple.
(5)Mark R.
Great Indian delivery!!! I have only ordered via GrubHub, but have never been disappointed! Delivery gets my order from Newport to OTR in less than an hour. Food is pretty consistent, and the cooks do a great job of sticking to their spice scale. HIghly recommend this for a good at-home delivery option!!!

My boyfriend and I had just gotten out of a movie when the mood for Indian food struck. After a quick Yelp search, Amol popped up so we decided to give it a go. Parking was easy to find, we walked in and placed a carry-out order of chicken tikka masala and saag paneer. The food was done pretty quickly, it only took like 10-15 minutes. Once we got home and opened the bag, we saw that this place hooks you up. There were two containers with rice filled to the brim to the point where I don't even know how they were able to close it. We took the two Styrofoam plates that came with our carry-out order and loaded them up. Let me just say that I'm a hardcore Deep India fan but when I took my first bite of Amol, there was no turning back. Everything was extremely flavorful and we had enough for leftovers for 2 days! I was very pleased with the food and the service, if you're looking for good Indian food in Newport then definitely hit this place up.
(4)Dawn B.
Newport now has an Indian restaurant. Finally! I no longer have to drive out of my way to get some tasty paneer. We came here for opening night with some friends. I had the paneer makhani and enjoyed the fresh and spicy flavor. The chai is delicious as well. Since this is a carryout, they serve everything in styrofoam and plastic. The dining room is small with 6 (?) tables and the walls green with little decoration. But we didn't come for the ambiance. We came for the food. Amol India Carryout is located on York St. Just a few blocks south of the Levee. The same family/owners of Amol on Ludlow in Clifton. Really nice people. And really good food too. Those of us living south of the river can rejoice!
(4)Jordan T.
Amol is the best Indian in the greater NKY-Cincinnati area. Their authenticity should be recognized. Everything is fresh. You can tell immediately that their food is a cut above the rest. Just take a look at the rice that comes with your dish and you'll see what I'm talking about. The distinctive spices and extra care put into everything and everyone that dines with Amol is the reason I'll keep coming back for more!
(5)John B.
So happy to finally have Indian food options in Northern KY! The owners of the Clifton Amol have opened this no frills location to help spread the amazing food from this culture. I typically go with a dish with Paneer in it but have also had their vegetable Biryani. The Biryani is served in a huge portion that one could possibly stretch to 3 meals. Let's get back to the no frills part. All meals are served in styrofoam carryout containers. The cups are also styrofoam. I may be an above average tree hugger, but seriously, this material is AWFUL and so many restaurants still use it. I wish that they used some kind of paper/recyclable container. Also, the dine in area is basic and only decorated by faded Indian posters. I really don't care about that part, as the food is most important, and their food is good. This location caters to carry-out and I'm cool with that. I believe they deliver as well, but don't quote me. Parking can be found in the adjacent lot, otherwise there are meters on both sides of the street. So, help support this new restaurant and I hope you enjoy their food as I do too. P.S. Not sure if they are BYO. Need to ask next time. ;)

After a long week of work and being completely defeating by the week~ I give my boyfriend the ..."I'm exhausted / too lazy to cook" look and he cleverly responds with "shall we find delivery? The results of this conversation is the reason why I'm so grateful he is so clever and that we have yelp. Key words here ...delivery...coma worthy portions...great service...but really...try delivery~ When we ordered delivery from them the first time and got chicken tikka masala and chicken saag with garlic naan. Needless to say...we were famished but still couldn't finish our portions...had enough for lunch the next day AND another after that. I'm convinced this is only pertaining to delivery however. To be adventurous we tried the lamb filled naan on top of our regular order plus two mango lassis. It was divine! Remember how I said we had enough for two days worth of left overs...well either they give you a smaller portion at the restaurant or we were extraordinarily famished this day....both my bf and I licked our plates clean and had no left overs. Learned a tough lesson on self control though.... Could not remove ourselves from the reclined position for a good 2 hours afterwards. Long story short...maybe stick to delivery and practice restraint! This place is quickly making it into our dining out rotation!

Huzzah! Newport finally got an Indian restaurant! I cannot explain how long I've been whining about having to drive to Canada (i.e., Ohio) to have a decent Indian meal. We have such a cool neighborhood here and now I am that much happier because I can finally stuff my face with Aloo Matar in the comfort of my own home. Life cannot possibly get much better than this. Amol is truly a carry out restaurant that will allow you to eat there if you so desire. This means that you'll be eating off styrofoam plates if you eat in, but you can also absorb all the yummy smells coming from the kitchen while you're there. The owners seem very sweet, and we even got a free dessert out of it (Gulab Jamun ....yum!). I think they obviously saw two people who clearly can put down pounds of Indian food yearly. So get your butts over there and start ordering some Indian food!! They're clearly already getting some solid business so I am hopeful that this will become a Newport staple soon enough.
(5)Marissa Z.
So I've never been to the Amol in Clifton (always ended up at Ambar or Dusmesh), but Amol in Newport blew all the Indian food I've ever had out of the water! I'm more of a saag person, but don't really like paneer that much so I usually just get Aloo Saag, which is a little boring and I always feel like I should branch out. I tried Amol's Chicken Saag though, which was a good compromise between spinach-y saag and other tomato-based dishes. It was fantastic, but honestly the rice almost stole the show! It was incredibly seasoned and flavored, light enough to balance out the spicy food, but flavorful enough to be enjoyed on its own. There were even actual cloves still in the rice! I was blown away that Indian food didn't need to be the single-textured, monotonous experience I'd gotten used to at more average restaurants. Go go go!
(5)Pitts S.
Best indian food i ever had... Must try chicken tandoori, chicken tikka, and some veggies as well... Excellent service... And yeh they now have a nice ambience to dine in.. Will surely go back for more...

Maybe it was the chaos of the grand opening, but the second go around left me thinking this will be worth more making more trips back. I was very excited that the management reached out to invite me back. I look forward to trying more dishes and exploring the menu. So great to have an Indian Restaurant in Newport, but even better to know that they are very concerned about serving customers the right way.
