Great food, very well seasoned and great prices. Quick service. Building looks a little shady but great eats.

This was my third visit. I come here once a year on my way to NC from Chicago. I've had a successful first two visits, but today's wasn't so great. I was really fiending flautas but when the server brought it out, I was really rather disappointed. It wasn't fried, as flautas are expected to be, and my husband's enchiladas was really sad looking. The women's bathroom had "malfunctioned" and the staff had no idea when it'd be okay to use. Kind of grossed me out actually. The chicken in the flautas were good and the chips n salsa weren't stale. I'm definitely going again, but I just wished today's experience wasn't so bad :(

Very tasty. Large sides but small mains. My chimichanga was 3/4 the length of my fork. Same with the wife's flautas. Oddly though, neither were fried as described on the menu. It was like eating a mini beef burrito and mini chicken burrito.

The food was good surprisingly coming from Mt Vernon, however the building itself is older and wasn't the cleanest. It use to be a motel restaurant I understand. The decor is a bit confusing and not appealing. Deer wall paper with crooked pictures of deer along the walls. Good enough if you don't want to drive to Somerset or Richmond.

Very good food and price. They have rootbeer in bottles! Also a smoking and non smoking section.

This was a great find on the way from Louisville to Gatlinburg. The service was outstanding, prices were perfect and the cheese sauce on the pollo loco and enchiladas was so wonderful and unlike anything I've ever tasted before.

We stopped because of a traffic jam on I-75. The food was excellent. The sauce looked house made, not from a jar. Everything was really good and made quickly. Now for I-75 to move quickly.

This is a really good place to eat. The workers are extremely nice and the place is very clean. If you're looking for some great Mexican food look no further. I always make sure I stop in every time I'm in town.

Great cooked to order Mexican food. Ask for grilled onion in cheese enchilada. Place sits on a stone bluff at the Vernon I-75 exit. Try anything this place is the real deal.

We stopped in here on the way back from Louisville, KY. A roadside Mexican restaurant that sits right next to a nightly stay hotel. It looked super shady and the shut down gas station in front of the building didn't help me think this was going to be great food. I was dead wrong. I order the Chuletas Adobadas and they were incredible. Truly some of the best Mexican food I've had. My wife and mother in law split fajita nachos and they were amazed at the quality of the meat, cheese and the whole dish. Net--this place is a gem in the mountains of Kentucky. Food snots, make no assumptions, other than this place being great.

I have been eating here for years and NEVER had a bad meal. Huge portions, good quality food and delicious! Good food at a good price. Try the Fajita nachos and the chimi cheesecake for dessert.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
