Four of us were visiting the area and stopped here on our first night in town. Parking was convenient. Ambience was casual. Friendly wait staff. Menu was varied. Food was fair to good. A good dependable place in a town where dining options are very limited.

We live in Madisonville and have never had a truly pleasant experience at this restaurant. The staff are deplorable and the food is mediocre at best which makes the prices ridiculous. We go back to this establishment about once a year to see if things have improved......they haven't. Last night we "attempted" to give this restaurant another try. We sat at the bar, we watched a baseball game, we read the entire menu that was sitting on the bar, and after 10 minutes of waiting for the bartender to tear herself away from the TV, we got up and left. As we were walking out, she asked if she could get us anything! We drove just down the road to Applebee's and the bartender there was asking for our drink orders before our bottoms hit the bar stools. I honestly believe the only reason this place stays in business is because it is within walking distance to 3 hotels/motels. If it wasn't for the unsuspecting out of towners, they would have no business. I looked around as we entered and left and saw no one that I knew (and this is a small town). Needless to say I will never waste my time or money at The Oasis again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Currently here with family and it's been over an hour to get our food for a table of 5, in a restaurant that's half full. Waitress has told us three times our food is "just another minute". Are they killing the cows and catching the fish in the back? An absolute joke of an establishment. I would rather go hungry on the side of the highway than spend another dime to eat here. Don't waste your money or your time.

I have tried the blooming onion 2 times. They cannot get it right. It wasn't peeled or cooked through. My friend ordered a steak medium rare. It was barely cooked. Cold inside, but not even bloody. Could not cut it. I would have given them 1 star but the drinks were good and they did try to make it right. Maybe they just need a cook.

Mediocre, over-priced food and the absolute worst service in town. Worst. Been there a couple of times in the past because other folks wanted to try it. Even though I knew it was a pest-house of an eaterie, I went back a couple of days ago, so I guess it's my fault. But nothing's changed. Want a beer menu? Read the neon signs on the wall. That's what the waitress did. Well, the ones she could see from where she stood. She did know the lite beers, but none of the others, and couldn't pronounce all the signs she could see. Want it fast? No problem. The onion blossom appeared within about a minute. Straight from the warmer where it had been hanging out for a while. And before the drinks arrived. Less than a minute later the entrees arrived. A couple of minutes later, salads. Innovative. Want a sampler? No problem. They'll bring you stuff you didn't order. And then to fix the problem, they'll bring you something else you didn't order. And it's all safe to try since it's been around all day, so it's cooked to death, and they don't shock your system with seasonings. Looking for a way out of that conservation with your guest? No problem. The wait staff is apparently trained to interrupt; it's happened every time I've been there. Can't comment on the desserts; I decided I'd enjoyed all I could take and cleared out. On the plus side, I took the left-overs home and made a pretty good omelet out of them the next morning.

Waitress sat at our table without asking and took our order. She never offered more rolls and the fish was overlooked with no flavor at all! We advised her of the fish and we got the oh well I'm sorry and that's all. No offer to fix it so my date was hungry when we left. Garbage service! Also we had a 10 min wait with half the restaurant empty! Never again!

Unimpressive. The restaurant is clean and nice. The complimentary rolls are good, but it's downhill from there in my opinion. Anything fried is okay, but the salads and grilled meats leave a lot to be desired.

In town for business. Decided to try this out. Ordered a steak cooked medium, got one cooked well. Very thin prime rib. The bartender was nice, I went to applebees afterward for some drinks, the oasis bartender ended up over there too, she eats there. That should help you decide.

This is kind of your average american steak house. We met a friend here, and were allowed to stay and chat without being hassled. There was a large menu to choose from and everything was good! Not the best food ever, but I would definitely go back!

Out of towner here. This restaurant is reminiscent of chains like Texas Roadhouse, Logan's Roadhouse and Outback Steakhouse. There's nothing really new here, everything is pretty pedantic. But there is a place and a time for predictable, so if that is what you are after, that is what you will find here. That being said, the service was atrocious. I waited 30 minutes for a take-out order I had placed 25 minutes before I arrived. The staff seemed to mostly be made up of high-schoolers and were lounging around. I noticed that seated customers were not getting any better service than I was. I'm not in Madisonville often, but I will not be back to this restaurant.

This place is similar to Texas Roadhouse. So if you've been there you know what kind of experience to expect. The decor is reminiscent of Longhorn Steakhouse. FOOD - Good for the most part. Only place in town for a good portioned steak. Burgers are some of the best in the area. I could hardly finish any of them in one sitting. Fries are good and thickly cut. However you have to almost demand to have your fries freshly served as I have been give cold fries on several occasions. Desserts are huge an event made for two. Always had a hard time deciding which to order. Drinks are served in icy mugs. Yes they serve more than bud and miller on tap. The bar seems to be pretty busy on weekdays after work. SERVICE - Better arrive early on weekends because everyone in town seems to kick their nights off here. When busy service is down right slow and can be really bad. Servers sometimes seem to be preoccupied with to many other things beside customers. Servers here are generally courteous. Most servers on staff seem to be teens so don't go with high expectations of world class service. I gave them a star just for the recognition of service members on veterans day. Good job! PRICE - Decent can't be beat. Steaks and chops are well priced. No complaints here. SUMMARY - Would I comeback? Of course I would! Only decently priced steak worth eating in town. A drive to Outback etc.. is about 40min. Southwest Grill is nearby and is really a good place to enjoy a nice local dinner out.

Great burger and fries. Service was quite slow. It was 3 in the afternoon and not busy.

Best Steak, Ribs & Spirit Restaurant in the Madisonville area; good service, delicious food, cold beer and warm atmosphere.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Way too high for food quality. Entrees sent back too cold. Brought back and still cold. Some food not cooked to order. When it has burnt from bottom of pot, its obvious. Will not return.

I would actually give this place no stars! This place was terrible. The place was pretty empty. We waited forever to be served. Had to ask four staff standing at the host station talking if someone could get us drinks. First serve came and took our drink order, while another server came and confronted her because it was her table. Second server came back said 1st server messes the entire order up and re-took the order. The whole meal the 2nd server kept apologizing and saying she knows we had a horrible experience and would never come back and made excuses for the first server. Dinner took forever! Fast forward....got our check, mine was incorrect. Let our server know, she said she would go fix it. Comes back several minutes later saying the manager would not let her correct it because they have me the actual dinner not the special. I said can I speak with your manager, she said I am so sorry, I will go get her. Waited over five minutes for the manager, drank half a beer, and the server can over several times to apologizes and say she should be over shortly. After I finished my beer I got up to find the manager. I found her at a table by the bar with a friend eating and talking. The server saw me and said something to her.... She comes over and explains that I did not get the special, I explained the chain of events and that if they did not happen the order would be correct. (Note the special did not give a description of what you got, so I would not have known that I did not get the special.) she kept asking the server and I what I ordered and I kept telling her what I ordered. Eventually she fixed the price, which was a difference if 5.00. She never apologized for the situation or the terrible service. We never were comped anything, for the terrible evening or service. Tons of excuses, extremely poor customer service, the food was ok, but not worth all we had to deal with it. Avoid this place, it is not worth it!

We were hesitant to try this place based on other reviews. It was within walking distance of our hotel so we decided to brave the reviews and go anyway. We were pleasantly surprised! Is it food to write home about? No, but it was very good food for a chain restaurant. The menu had some interesting choices you don't find on most chain menus. We actually ate there both nights of our hotel stay and had a very good experience with service both times. Entrée prices are a tiny bit high for the quality of the food but not outrageous.

Bland sirloin. Bland blooming onion. Bland mashed potatoes. Wish it was better because I love a good blooming onion!
