We stopped here during our quick stop in Louisville, but this is a cute place to sit down and catch up over some ice cream or quickly grab some ice cream for the go. There were unique decorations throughout the place which made for a really home-y feel. I got the kids sized scoop of ice cream and it was just enough after a heavy brunch!

I have a love-hate relationship with The Comfy Cow. I absolutely love all of the unique flavors that are available. It is hard to find an ice cream shop that carries flavors such as Old 502 Sangria, Jelly Doughnut, or a Spot of Tea (my new favorite after my last visit!). There are choices abound for the foodies and all the classics for the traditionalists. The location is ideal to visit when strolling down Bardstown Road on a summer night. For the locals, it replaced the old Heine Bros. Ample seating is available inside for those that want to lounge on the couches as well as outside for a dog lover. There are even frozen treats for dogs to keep cool! The "hate" part of the relationship is that The Comfy Cow has ruined me for other ice cream places. I can't enjoy a pint from the grocery store or even from somewhere like the Homemade Pie and Ice Cream Kitchen because I know they can do better.

This adorable ice cream dots the region. With unlimited samples, comfy seating and generous scoops your my fitness pal calculator will not like this, but you will! Although I enjoyed the flavors, some of the ice cream had freezer burn. While I can forgive a few icicles on top, in my butter pecan inspired ice cream the nuts weren't blanched ( the nuts had the skins). Suddenly I was biting into pockets of pure ice and had the film of pecans linging my teeth. I was forced to throw away half of this treat for fear I would need to floss in the middle of the street.

Big selection of flavors to pick from. Fairly priced and friendly staff. When the weather is nice, the patio is great. My flavor was a chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cookie chunks. It was delicious. I look forward to trying more flavor.

We came twice during my visit. The first time was amazing! The second trip they were a bit busier and the guy didn't clean off the ice cream scoop from a peanut butter-tasting ice cream before scooping my cheesecake ice cream. So, I had a somewhat different flavor than what I wanted. Overall, great ice cream and very quaint atmosphere!

Some of the best ice cream in Louisville. New flavors are added regularly but if you see one you like you better get it then because it won't last long. You do pay for the quality and atmosphere but good for the occasional ice cream fix!

Love this new location on the corner of Bardstown & Eastern...perfect for people watching, which is one of my top 5 favorite things to do.

Simply the best local ice cream in Louisville. The Salty Caramel and Bourbon Ball ice cream flavors are my favorites. All locations are good, and this one opened recently. The service is always good, even when they are busy. They have little taste tester spoons and will let you try as many flavors as you want. They also serve glass bottled Coca-Cola, and will make Sundae's/Floats, etc.

One of my favorite locations of Comfy Cow. Inspired from the Frankfort Ave store, this one brings the quirky decor and homey feel to this location. You almost feel like you have been transported to another place as you get ice cream at Comfy Cow before returning to Bardstown Rd. The flavors are aplenty, the service is superb, and this quirky escape for ice cream should be on everyone's to-do list as they walk Bardstown Rd.

My current favorite ice cream spot in Louisville. All of their locations, of course! My absolute favorite flavors here are pistachio and salty caramel. Try them both, side by side in a cup. Such a great combo! The other offerings besides ice cream are tasty too. Try a chocolate dipped banana if you are looking for a lighter dessert. Or if you brought your pup with you treat them to a pup pop! I bet they will love it as well as you love your dessert. So glad we have this local gem in town. When you go, ask about the huge sundae that they offer. It is ice cream insanity and would be super fun to share with someone! I dare you!

Hello delicious homemade, natural flavor, no preservatives ice cream! Funky atmosphere, helpful friendly employees, and samples to settle on which flavor to buy. I had the monthly flavor "Chatty Cathy" which is fresh roasted coffee ice cream full of chocolate covered espresso bean goodness, AND dark chocolate chips. PLEASE make this a permanent flavor! Love. Love. Love. He had the bourbon ball ice cream which made up for missing the tour at Jim Beam. Very rich strong bourbon flavor. All of the flavors tried were yummy and super soft as if just made. They even have homemade dog ice cream for which you could enjoy with your furry friend on their nice patio.

The newest Comfy Cow has been calling to me since opening up at the top of my street several months ago. Finally, tonight, I answered its siren song of sugary, creamy goodness. And now I'm at home, full and happy. This Comfy Cow is smaller than its other store on Frankfort Avenue, the only other Comfy Cow I've been to, but it has all of its flagship store's charm packed into the tiny space. I love the big C-O-W lights on the wall facing the front door. The wall covered in used paintbrushes made me think about where they came from -- I mean, were they used when Comfy Cow got them or did someone have to make them that way especially for this wall? The chandeliers cracked me up -- one is made of ice cream scoops, and the other one looks like it's covered in sprinkles. The mannequin on top of the Coke cooler is a bit creepy yet fun. And if you walk down the hall to the bathrooms -- the doors of which have the chest parts of dress forms attached to them and painted to look like ice cream cones -- you'll see colorful murals on all of the walls. I know all of this sounds really weird, but trust me, it works in Comfy Cow's kooky, pink-splattered way. But the ice cream, the reason you'd come to Comfy Cow: As always, it was oh so good. I ventured away from my Comfy Cow fave of Dulce de Leche de Salte to get the Cow Tracks, peanut butter ice cream combined with Reese's peanut butter chips, dark chocolate pieces and chocolate-peanut butter fudge swirl. This ice cream was thick; it didn't seem to have been whipped with air as some cheaper ice cream will be. Because it is so thick, it took me a decent amount of time to eat my scoop, which helped me definitely feel satisfied afterward. This location also has some prime outdoor seating that looks out onto the busy Eastern Parkway-Bardstown Road intersection. And Comfy Cow has special frozen treats for pups too. Bring them on a walk and reward both of you with cool treats!

Visited the Comfy Cow today for the first time and it wasn't bad. I was craving a milkshake, so I went for the red velvet milkshake. It was pretty good for a little over $5. I think it could've had more of the red velvet flavor to it, but it still tasted great. The employees were friendly and on top of it. The way the line is set up is kind of weird, but not s big deal. It's a cute little establishment and I may go back for another milkshake sometime this week :)

If you are going to eat ice cream, eat this ice cream. Chock full of goodness. I love any ice cream with ice cream "accessories" you know the extra yummy bits. They were patient with my friends and I sampling 84957349857 flavors and we didn't taste a bad one. In fact the pistachio may have been life altering. If you have a hankering for ice cream the calories are worth it here.

This place is on point! 3 visits to make sure it was what really gonna wow me forever... Just tried the Mexican Chocolate ice cream, and it is stupid good with that hot cinnamon bite. The Tiramisu is hard to stop consuming. My favorite is still the Simply Southern though. Oh, and real whip cream... Oh oh, and pecans instead of cheap ass peanuts free of charge too. Best ice cream I think I've ever had, ever.

I'm normally not an ice cream person but the person I was with was talking this place up and I was down for trying something new. I'm so happy that I did! They let me taste as many flavors as I wanted until I finally settled on salted caramel and it was so yummy! Creamy and smooth and it went perfectly with the waffle cone. The portion was so large I couldn't finish it and was actually sad when I had to toss the last bit.

Disappointed. The staff is excellent. They were very helpful. The ice cream is another story. We got a hot fudge Sunday with vanilla and banana nut fudge. They put a microscopic amount of hot fudge on it. You really had to dig around to find it. The banana nut fudge had, at best, a faint flavor of banana but the fudge was not detectable. Ditto for the nuts. It was a light brown color which I guess was supposed to be the fudge part. You could have fooled me. My definition of "fudge" is dark chocolate. I guess these guys have a different dictionary. The vanilla was mediocre at best. It had a creamy texture but little vanilla flavor. More hot fudge would have made it taste better but they put maybe a table spoon of hot fudge on it. I paid $8 for this? This place gets a lot of rave reviews. I guess the people who wrote them had spent a little time at the nearby bars before they came here. I've been to this place before and the previous experience was the same as this one, I won't be back.

We love comfy cow ice cream! It is high quality. We like the cow tracks, which is vanilla with chunks of chocolate and peanut butter. The bardstown td location is perfect for sitting outside and people watching, too.

My first comfy cow experience was today. Will it be my last.....Heck no. Nice spot but a little small. They have an outdoor patio which is nice. The ice cream was really creamy and delicious. A little on the pricey side but not outrageous. Friend got a cookie...really a cookie. He said it was good but I couldn't hear him over the disappointment of him not getting ice cream at an ice cream shop. Great addition to the highlands. Definately a return trip is in the future.

Whoa, this place is so good! They have a bountiful selection of fun and unique ice cream, but they also have the classics as well as some yummy looking bakery items. I had a small sundae and I think the whipped cream was somehow better than the ice cream. Both were out of this world. The atmosphere is fun and very eclectic. The only thing I didn't like was that you have to ask for a key to get to the bathroom. The key is attached to this big wooden thing and I thought it was pretty gross to have to carry around and then go eat. Plus, I had to wait at the counter for a few mins in order to ask for the key. Other than that, it was a great experience.

I've got a new favorite Ice Cream place in Louisville! I love the Comfy Cow in general, and this Highlands location is close to some of my favorite haunts. As before, I've never gotten the same flavor twice at any Comfy Cow, and the flavor on this visit was "Cow Tracks". I highly recommend this scoop of chocolate and peanut butter goodness, and hope you'll take my advice to get larger than just the small serving that I got on my most recent visit. This particular spot is small on the inside, but has some great outdoor seating for when the weather is warm. I was greeted promptly, and the person helping me indulged my desire to try a few flavors before I decided on which one I wanted for my visit that day. Like I said, "Cow Tracks" was the winner on this day. I could barely wait to get outside and savor the flavor, but once I grabbed a chair, I enjoyed the ice cream and the people watching equally. The location at the corner of Bardstown Rd and Eastern Parkway makes it a guaranteed hotspot, as it's convenient to a number of restaurants, and provides a great space to watch the world go by as you enjoy the goodness that is the Comfy Cow.

Though it is located in the frozen-dessert-saturated intersection of the Highlands, I think they'll do just fine. Especially because I'll choose Comfy Cow over the other options almost any day. Comfy Cow has the best cookies and cream ice cream I've ever had. The only problem with this location that I had was the mirror situation in the bathroom. C'mon! Be all cutesy everywhere else! Just gimmie a mirror in the bathroom to check mah-self.

A Comfy Cow location in the Highlands? I may never make homemade ice cream again! This location is smaller than the Clifton shop, but you'll find the same charming kitsch, pink accents, and tin ceilings. And of course, the same delicious ice cream! The smaller size mostly translates to a less organized line. There's plenty of seating outside, and the indoor space is cozy with ample seating as well. The hallway to bathroom features some pretty *sweet* art (cue rimshot). As with the other location, the seasonal flavors are always fun to try. I have a new favorite in this summer's Shorty's Strawberry Shortcake.

Great new location next to several favorite restaurants. Friendly staff and great environment. I was being indecisive, but the workers were so patient about helping me settle on flavors. Ice cream was great, of course. Black raspberry chip still stands as my all time favorite. The bourbon ball was pretty good too. And PBJ actually taste like.... PBJ. Yes, mind blown. Such fun flavors!

Delicious ice cream. Scoop after scoop after scoop. High quality ice cream with various rotating flavors. I got the "bonjour toast" a cinnamon based ice cream with chunks of French toast and some chocolate chips to add a little fun to the party. Quick and friendly service. Affordable. With some killer people watching outdoor seating. I'll be a regular here.

This place is just beyond awesome! My husband and I have ice cream whenever we're in the area and we're never disappointed. My husband is a big fan of The Buzzz ice cream cake. While I love the chocolate covered frozen bananas, my current favorite is Cinnamon Walnut Baklava ice cream. All of the flavors I've eaten have had the same balance- just enough sugar without being too sweet and just enough cream to balance out the richness. Frankly, every flavor I've had has been delicious. Even my husband's plain old chocolate chip was great! Truly excellent ice cream!

Having a Comfy Cow so close to my house is dangerous.... This location took over the old Heine Brothers at the corner of Bardstown Road and Eastern Parkway. The interior is a bit loud in terms of decor, but their ice cream is MORE than worth it - plus there's lovely outdoor seating :) DO RECOMMEND: the Hazelnut Crunch! It taste just like hazelnut gelato I used to eat in France - SO GOOD.

Awesome icecream! If you're gonna splurge, forget buying icecream at the grocery and hit this place. Nice folks who work there as well. Just remember moderation in all things though....
