Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

From my 11yo daughter: Qdoba is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the world. I go there a lot. The food there is great and service is awesome. My favorite item on the menu is their cheese quesadilla. Their food is great overall. The restaurant is clean and affordable. Great place, definitely recommended for people who like Mexican food.

Qdoba is one of my favorite fast food restaurants but this particular location is my least favorite. I feel like the staff barely makes any effort in making my food and they give much smaller portions than the other restaurants.

The UofL Cards scored so many points against Memphis on 10/09/10 that each game ticket was good for a free taco. My family collected three tickets. I had the steak tacos with the Verde & tomato salsas, cheese, and some lettuce to go. The soft shell has a sweet taste to it. The short travel time back to my home provided time for the salsas, cheese, and steak to mix together. Sometimes I feel I could eat Qdoba every meal for a week .

THE LOCATION: The location is very nice for this Qdoba. It is smack in the middle of the Summit shopping center aligned with other posh shops. FIRST IMPRESSION: The place looked clean and well kept up with. The inside was very cold to our families standards so we ended up eating outside. There was fountain-beverage service and nice restrooms. THE SELECTION: As the name suggest, its mainstay is Burger and Fries. They just added Fish but I have not tried this yet. They do have a chicken sandwich just in case. THE FOOD: You pick your food in this "Subway restaurant" style setting except for....its Mexican food. Now before I continue I want to let you know that I am a HUGE Moe's Southwest Grill fan so this review will DEFINITELY be compared with Moe's. The food choices are good and the rice (and this is about the only thing) is I think better than the Moe's rice. The chicken was okay and the toppings were fair. I did not like how you have to pay separately for your chips and salsa (Moe's: Its included with all your meals) and they did not give you a choice of Salsa (Moe's: There is a Salsa Bar). The food was okay but my wife and I were not impressed. My child on the other hand was happy enough feeding the birds her meal. THE PRICE: This place is overpriced comparitively speaking. With Moe's I think you get a better value and better overall food. OVERALL: Our experience was, I say, fair. It was neither offensive or impressive. I would not go back unless all the Moe's closed down for some reason. The atmosphere was good for families and singles alike but I won't be taking my family there for a long time, if ever.

Qdoba has pretty good food. But I guess I don't get why people stand in line here (and there is always a line) when you can go to Nopal or Tarasco for damn near the same price (including tip) and enjoy a comfortable meal.

Food was tasty and great. Very nice location. Music was kind of on the loud side though.

Great food and prices. I love the naked chicken burrito.

Not the best and not the worst location. They were a little skimpy on the salad toppings originally, but thankfully all extras are "free" now. I still love the naked chicken taco salad that I can build for under 600 calories!

I am normally at Qdoba by request of my kids...who are big fans of this place. It is definitely one of the healthier options aside from my kitchen so I appease them every now and then. I will say that the lime salted tortilla chips are probably my favorite item here along with the new Bacon Jalapeño Queso (wow). My kids love the steak burritos or chicken burrito bowls. If you are coming here by yourself its probably not priced too bad, however my tab is never under $50...

I really like Qdoba. This location does a pretty good job but it can get pretty busy on a weekend. Today there was not a big crowd but it was hard to find a cleaned table. They Do have a magic coke machine. I know that's not the official name but the one where you can mix flavors. That's a big bonus. The sweet tea is pretty good. The queso is yum and I usually get the nachos. The staff seems friendly if not slightly stressed. I'll be back again on a weekday.

I have visited many Qdobas, and this experience was better than I've had at other locations. The food was fresh and delicious, the facility clean, and the service efficient. I would definitely go back again.

Not sure what the fuss is all about but I did not like the food here. Nothing I ate had taste. The cilantro did not even taste fresh. I had a bowl of cilantro rice, beans, and chicken and to be honest, I really don't know what else was in that bowl because I forgot about it just that fast. It was quite busy when my children and I stopped by but that's still no excuse for lack of flavor!

I like this Qdoba better than any of the others. They always do a good job and don't skimp like some of the other shops I have been to. And if they mess up your order they will redo it. Even if they are slammed - and they usually are. Nice staff and helpful.

I would give this restaurant less than a star if I could! The Health Department may stick an A on the door after their inspection but that is definitely not an indication of the attitude of the people who were behind the counter yesterday afternoon! The lady was scraping the bottom of the serving bowls where they store all the ingredients, the two bowls we bought had barely nothing and her gall in moving the line along!!! I had to ask to stop, wait for someone to replenish stuff from inside the kitchen and then do it properly! In a place like Louisville where service people are the sweetest you could find on earth anywhere, the owners seem to have gone the extra length to find people who did not want to be there! And they had not cleaned any of the tables for a while! Would never go in there again!

Not a fan.

I am addicted to Qdoba... I would eat Qdoba every day if it was possible. I will say that at this location on weekdays at lunch time it gets pretty crowded, but that can be said for almost any Qdoba. Qdoba, I love you.

As far as chains go, this is one of my top five fav fast food joints. This "fast casual," tex-mex restaurant is a great place to pick up a meal freshly prepared right in front of your eyes. The prices are one notch more than the typical taco mass assembler, but two notches better. Bad at this location: Tends to get very crowded and, when it does, the friendly smiles start to fizzle a little. In additional, the food prep starts to get a little sloppy (slung around a bit). Good at this location: This location is part of The Summit outdoor shopping center. It's not all that exciting in the winter, but when the weather is nice, the area is a paradise for the shopper who wants to soak up some fresh air, music piped in through speaker disguised as rocks, nice landscaping, water fountains, and a cluster of restaurants in a center courtyard.
