Pizza Donisi Menu

Diabetics at Pizza Hut
Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.
Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:
You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.
Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Blood Pressure at Pizza Hut
Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut
Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Excellent little pizza joint in the Old Louisville district. Worth the half-mile walk from the dorm. It's not a sit-down place, but there are a couple tables outside, great for enjoying the beautiful neighborhood in summer. The kids liked the pizza too, although my 3 year old was offended by the "leaves" on the cheese (basil). We'll ask for "no leaves" next time. (The "leaves" were fresh and delicious, in my opinion.)

Fantastic pizza, kind service, nice price. The homemade sausage pizza was wonderful. Give it a shot :)
(5)Lan D.
This place is not good. The crust is icky and the middle of the pizza was just a slimy mess. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and, not exaggerating, each slice had 1 pepperoni. My fiancé points out that two of the slices had 2. We tried this place twice to give it a chance but won't try it again.
(2)Paul D.
Great pizza! Bought the Achilles hill pizza and it was amazing. The pizza joint is right down the street, pricing is fair, and the cook time is fast. I will eat here again...shame I been in Louisville for a month now and have just ate here today.
(5)Alan W.
Soo let me tell ya something. This here small pizza joint really has gained my respect. They make NY style slices aka thin. The chefs choices are always super unique. The hot wings are pretty good a little small though. Besides the food I was won over by the customer service. After buying 5 slices you get one free and also when I walk my dog they have a jar of dog treats available to grab on the go.

Pizza Donisi is the best Neopolitan pizza in Louisville. I'm a Jersey boy and always hunt for good pizza. Is this Grimaldis in NYC? No. But if you're from the Tri-State area you'll leave happy!
(5)Whitney M.
Awesome! The service is always super friendly, and I love that they're open late and deliver. They have some really fun ingredients and specials, and everything I've had so far has been delicious. We've visited several times since moving close by and have yet to be disappointed. Definitely recommended!
(5)Charles C.
Excellent NY style pizza, and you can buy by the slice. Top quality, innovative and always good. This is not your run of the mill pizza. Crust is top notch.
(4)Shannon H.
This is what pizza was meant to taste like! I will definitely be trying anything and everything in this restaurant, but the sausage (made in house) pizza is the absolute best! It's a tiny place, so carry out is a must. The price is fair and the charm of Old Louisville makes this one of my favorite places to eat.
(5)Stephanie B.
Being an Old Louisville resident, I appreciate a neighborhood restaurant that delivers. I have always received very friendly service whether that be from a delivery driver or a cashier when I walk in. While their pizza options are diverse with great flavors such as chicken tikka masala, I don't care for the crust. It has always been undercooked. I recommend the calzones. They are huge and fairly inexpensive. I always love that you can order by the slice here!
(3)Melissa B.
We arrived to our hotel in Louisville late and after a day of driving...we were tired and wanted to stay in. We searched Yelp looking for a pizza place that delivered to our hotel that was NOT a chain. All of the places we thought looked amazing did NOT deliver, so we settled on this one because they did. We ordered two pizzas and the Tater Tot appetizer. BBQ Chicken and the Old Louisville. OMG! What a pleasant surprise!! Best pizzas EVER! I'm not a huge pizza fan...but would, without a doubt, order from here again. Probably EVERY time we are in Louisville! Pizzas were so good and the tots were fabulous! So much so, that I'm willing to give this place 5 stars even though they forgot our two liter and failed to bring plates or utensils.

This place has trumped Impellizeri's as being my #1 pizza place in this city. For a few reasons. 1) You can buy it by the slice. I seldom get to go to Impellizeri's, because people don't really want to go that often. It gets expensive. Selling pizza by the slice is the way to go. 2) It is NY style. I didn't say it was as good as NY pizza. I said it was NY style. Big, thin, can be folded in half and eaten. Makes for an easier eat. 3) It's not as heavy as other pizza. I had 2 slices and I feel fine. I don't feel weighed down. 4) They make their own sausage. And it is dope. 5) It just tastes better. Impellizeri's is really good. Really very good. I love it. I'd rather have Donisi. I would have never known about this place if it weren't for Yelp. I was just scanning through Yelp one day, and saw this pizza place I had never heard of. I was reading the reviews, and there was one review that stood out. I thought that I just had to try it. Thankful that I did. My life has changed forever. It is a very small place, so takeaway only. Unless you get one of the two tables or you sit on the curb. But that almost makes it better.
(5)Carlo K.
Right next door to Mag Bar, I've had been pizza but the fact its right next door I am giving it 4 stars. They have pizza ovens as well, while is a bonus when it comes to thin New York Style Pizza.
(4)Maria K.
This is what all corner pizza shops should aspire to be. Both of us ordered the Chef's Choice (chicken, red onions, red peppers, smoked gouda, mozz, with a basil pesto base)! We literally saw the chef take dough out of the fridge to make our slices... it's that fresh! The cheese was bubbly and the pesto was delightful. And not to mention the option to buy by the slice. Thank you Pizza Donisi for not being pizza we deserve but the pizza we need!
(4)Marco D.
They are very gentle and the pizza is good.
(4)Elizabeth R.
I lived around the corner from this place for a year without trying it and boy am I upset I waited so long. It's an excellent little pizza shop and being able to buy pizza by the slice is a huge perk. NY style is great and Pizza Donisi does a great job with it, plus they have a few pretty unique specials every so often that I enjoy (brisket for example). Their pizza is pretty filling- sometimes I only need one slice. I haven't had any of their calzones, but I've only heard great things about those as well. They also deliver which is nice if you're getting a whole pie. I always get it to go anyway since they only have one or two small tables inside and a couple 2-tops outside their storefront. They're also open pretty late which is somewhat rare this close to campus so I definitely like that about them as well.
(4)Kellie G.
Always and I mean always a good choice!! Never disappoints and always delights. Friendly service in person and by phone and there are never any leftovers
(5)Cassidy P.
This place is great! You can buy it by the slice or order a whole pie. They have a 'chefs choice' slice of the day which is a specialty pizza that you can buy by the slice on particular days. The pizza is thin crust and the crust is nice and crunchy. I am partial to original crust- I love bread, and having basically a breadstick left at the end of a slice of pizza is what I live for- but I still thought this pizza was great! They don't have much seating, 1 small table inside and 2 outside on the sidewalk (great for lunch on a pretty spring day in old Louisville). They also have wontons which are like mozzarella sticks in wonton form (at least the kind my mom and I ordered) and delicious! Will definitely be back!
(4)Mona T.
I have heard amazing things about Pizza Donisi. Yelp reviews, a trusted friend who raved about this place. I HAD to try it. So on a night when I was headed to Shakespeare in the Park in Central Park, I decided to drop by to try this pizza before the performance. I found the storefront, it was small, but cozy. Enough space for the menu, some chairs, and an outdoor seating area. I quickly realized what I wanted, cheese wontons and a personal margherita pizza. They took my order and advised me to wait for the pizza. I expected a long wait, I mean that's a lot of food. About 15 minutes later, I had two boxes ready for me, wontons and pizza, so QUICK. I had the wontons first. They came with some dipping marinara. The wontons were perfection with herb seasonings within it. I'm still craving it now. The pizza. OH the pizza. Also perfection. The crust was thin and delicious. The sauce was fresh and tasty. The toppings were perfect. The cheese was ooey gooey and yummy. I liked the pizza so much I came back the next day to try another. This is definitely a great reason to go visit Old Louisville.
(5)Amy L.
I am going with 3 stars for Pizza Donisi but don't let that stop you from going because it is legit It was a little late Saturday evening and we had not eaten dinner yet so we decided to walk over to this little dive pizza joint located right next to Magnolia Bar in Old Louisville. It is tiny inside. There are a couple of bistro tables- but for the most part you need to order to go. The people working there were friendly and explained the menu and the specials and made recommendations. We went with the largest BBQ chicken pizza as my friend can eat A LOT of food. :) We asked for extra sauce on the side and the crust to be well-done. They got 1 of 2 correct. The crust wasn't crispy but it was still tasty. The sauce was delicious and so was the chicken. One of the best parts is while you are waiting for your order, you can go next door to Mag Bar and grab a drink and they will bring your food over. I would definitely try it again.
(3)Lynn P.
I am a sucker for the foldable NewYork style pizza. I passed this place probably 300 times before I finally talked my BF into trying it with me. He liked it but liked a deeper crust. I LOVED IT! You don't have to order alot of toppings to get alot of flavor. I am hooked. Not the greatest cold, but there wasn't much left anyway! My only complaint is parking. I have had to circle the block several times to find a spot.
(4)Andrew D.
After having lived in Louisville for five years now, I can say this is the pizza. After trying Wick's, Boombozz, Imperilli's, and others, this is the best I've personally had. Plus it's in the Old Louisville neighborhood, so it's close to me. Give them a try!!!
(5)Sandra M.
Delicious!!!! This is the way pizza is supposed to be :). Toppings don't slide off when u pick up a slice. Will def be ordering again!!! Give this place a try!!!
(5)Visa P.
Played a gig at Mag bar yesterday and finally got to try this place out. What can I say, the crust was so good nice thin and crispy the sauce was nice the toppings were awesome. I'm so happy my sister lives right down the street, so I'll be trying out more of the tasty looking pizzas on the menu in the near future.
(4)Nick S.
I had an excellent experience at this pizza joint. The staff was extremely friendly and the pizza was delicious. I highly recommend this spot!
(5)Eric C.
Ordered delivery to nearby airport hotel. Maybe that is the problem, as other delivery reviews seem to differ from those that eat in. In any case, the pizza came very fast. Too fast perhaps. Pizza was under-cooked, soggy, and inedible. Crust had a distinct bleach flavor.
(2)Romel F.
Very different, exquisite and delightful pizza and salads. The staff is friendly and focused. Not your usual pizza place. They put a twist on their food and its a great one. Just try their creations and let your taste buds find glory.
(4)Shadwick W.
Great NY / Artisan style pizza -- by the slice or by the pie! Fresh and housemade ingredients (try the sausage!) and perfectly crispy crust. Have eaten an irresponsible amount of pizza here. Will probably continue to do so.
(5)Leondra G.
The pizza was amazing! I didn't know this place existed until now and I've been missing out.
(4)Laina C.
I went to Mag Bar to pick up my drunk loser ex. While we argued out front I noticed this new pizza place. So, the DLE say, " hey I just ate a whole pizza from there it's great, go get ya some." The fighting stops while I searched the menu. I chose the roasted chicken, spinach, mozzarella and goat cheese. Then DLE says, "go enjoy a beverage at Mag Bar." DLE hands me some cash!! I am totally shocked by his actions. As soon as my tequila shot and Newcastle were gone (5 minutes tops) DLE gave me thumbs up to leave. Yummy pizza and the best night with DLE ever!!
(5)Joe C.
Great pizza by the slice and pie! Love the special wontons they have, never know lamb or duck may be involved in them, which I like. Always great options and good people. Glad they're in my 'hood for late night food.
(5)Andrew B.
A gem in old louisville. Pizza by the slice for under $5. They have great managers picks for pizza; which have been everything from a five mushroom to an Indian food inspired pizza.i
(4)Alec P.
Love this pizza! Excellent sauce and near perfect crust. I can't give it the full five stars because I've yet to try their pepperoni or cheese pizza (which are my two favorites). However the pizza I have had has been excellent (the breakfast pizza in particular). Plus they're open late which is always a plus with a pizza place. I've not actually ever ordered my own so I can't comment on price or staff, though I'm sure they're both excellent and fair. This place is an excellent option after a night of drinking and dancing at Mag Bar next door.
(4)Raymond S.
Awesome Food! Awesome Fries! Awesome Workers and atmosphere...they get 5 STARS.... Yelp Calling them constantly..... 1 Star to Yelp
(5)Diane R.
Pizza was good we got vegetarian and barbecue chicken. The BBQ chicken was fabulous. We also got a Greek salad which was really really good. The cannolis were pretty good but needed mixed better there was chunks of cheese that were a little big for as small as the cannolis were. The guy that took my order over the phone was terribly terribly rude. The delivery man was super nice.
(4)Hillery B.
I feel incredibly lucky to have this place in my neighborhood! As an ex-pat New Yorker I was missing the option of pizza by the slice and, for that matter, late night pizza. But the quality here far outshines the convenience: all the ingredients are fresh and you can watch your pizza being made right in front of you (and if that's not quality control I've never seen it). You can make up your own pie, but I suggest choosing from the combinations on the menu or the weekly special written on the chalk board. I highly recommend the Italian Meat Trio...I keep meaning to try other things on the menu, but it's so good I order it again and again. This is pretty much a takeout or delivery place. There is one table, but it's usually already occupied when I get there and the space is about 90% kitchen anyway. Everyone who works here is fun and interesting, so even if you have a bit of a wait an entertaining conversation will probably bubble up organically.
(5)Kirk H.
Under-done crust, too much cheese, sauce is okay. Not much more to say. un-memorable.
(2)Tim C.
Just move to Old Louisville and tried the pizza. Very unique and delicious so much better than the PJ and DOM ITS AWESOME. Give it a try you won't be sorry you did.
(5)KeiKei B.
Eat hot!!!!! Wonderful pie. Would've given 4 stars but I had the sausage & it had grissel. That said I'm not big in the prices either. A personal pie (says small) is $10. Not sure if it's too high as I did not see farm fresh ingredients. Crust was amazing! Sauce was good too. It was good pie, so much so that I wanted another. The sizes are on the small side but quite tasty. They also do not serve salads. They should since many groups don't all eat the same thing. But they're sticking to what they know & that's A o.k with me.
(3)Kevin C.
Stopped here for some midnight pizza, which is the best pizza after cold hangover pizza and the celebration pizza that you eat after ordering it online then managing to have sex before the delivery guy gets there. We split the sausage and a special, which was some kind of chicken, garlic pesto mix. The pizza was fine - nothing special - but the people who work here are. Some guy named Robert rolled up on his bike, wildly intoxicated, and hung out with us while waiting for his food. He ordered tater tots for his girlfriend, because Robert's a great dude. Robert got his tater tots and dropped them all over the ground half a second later, because Robert was also a drunk dude. Roughly 100 tater tots went rolling everywhere. The people working here gave him another 100 tater tots, on the house, even though he insisted on paying for it. Shit belongs on a Hallmark card

Pizza Donisi shares a bit of the "hardcore" vibe exuded by its neighbor, Mag Bar, when the hour gets late, and the music is loud enough to penetrate walls. The location is very urban, & partly due to that, but mainly due to the slice itself...Donisi reminds me of places I've been in New York or Chicago. Next door at the Mag Bar, which doesn't serve food, you'll occasionally see someone chowing on a slice, folded New York style, and this is how the legend is passed along, between bites and an occasional, guttural, "Um, good!" Staff here are involved and committed, not posers; this is real, handmade pie by the slice in OldLu that cannot be beat. P.S. (they'll sell you a whole pie, too).

This pizza is unbelievable! The crust is more like a table water cracker. The sauce is perfect in taste as well as the amount of toppings! Fried ravioli is sweet, the wings...finher kicking bone sucking delicious! Plus a frequent flyer card for slices! Can't beat it!

Rude, took forever, pizza was undercooked. The bald dude at night was literally kicking the doors shut, dropping things.. very uncomfortable waiting for pizza when this is going on in such a tiny place. On top of it, the pizza didnt even make up for it.

The taste of what we received was flavorful. But for 17 bucks (before the 5 dollar tip I gave the driver), what we got was disappointing as Hell. A "10 inch pizza", my Behind. The BOX was 10 inches inside but the pizza dough/crust was barely, if at all, 8 inches. There were a few chunks of "topping" material of some sort in the center of a splotch of cheese which came nowhere close to the edge. After the fact, we thought that maybe we should have tipped the driver as we did (it wasn't his fault) and sent it back with the message that it was unacceptable. And that would not have been expecting or requesting a refund; we figure if Pizza Donisi puts out a product this chintzy and charges 17 bucks, SOMEone must be hurting for money, Big Time. We will not return and will never recommend. **(Next Morning Addendum: We just noticed on the payment receipt that IT says "9inch Chef's Special..." ! Yet we were told when calling in that we were ordering a "10 incher") **

All I can say is wow! I had the Italian meats pizza and it was the best pizza I have had in years, amazing.

Surprised at how good this was! Thin crust, perfect amount of sauce, and delivery was pretty fast! We got an 18" and it was a great size! If I'm ever in louisville again and I need a pizza place this is it!

I stopped in and grabbed a slice of their pizza. Pleasantly surprised! The crust was excellent, tasty cheese, perfect sauce, & the sausage a hit. Very fresh ingredients. I'll be returning to try more of their menu items, which include breadsticks, garlic cheese bread, fried three cheese ravoli, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, pizza by the slice, whole & speciality pies, and a good selection of fresh toppings. Open by noon and stats open until 2 am. Conveniently located across from the Mag bar. Stop in & try, good stuff!

I bought a medium sized barbecue chicken pizza to share with my boyfriend, and I ate the entire thing by myself because I wear the pants (JK we both have pants). The best part was I worked it off by walking back for more! ...the next day... of course. It's about time Old Louisville got a great pizza place, or any food for that matter, that is open late enough for the drunks and insomniacs. What's even better is it's located next to Mag Bar and you can bring your pizza in if you crave libations. OR when you're already trashed you can end the night with fried ravioli. The options are limitless, people.

Finally some decent food in old Louisville. New York style pizza that is reasonably price, open late and they deliver so my fat ass doesn't have to get up and go the two blocks to get it.

Hands down best pizza I've ever had. Meatball pizza was amazing. Plus super fast delivery.

Do not understand all the good reviews. Perhaps it is because everyone who eats there is drunk from the mag bar! This place is garbage. Artisan pizza my ass. Picked one star because you have to do that or I would do 0.

Pizza was delicious, fresh, hot and prompt. Customer service was just as good. I will definitely recommend and return!

we tried pizza donisi while staying at a hotel near the airport the night before an early flight. We always try to eat somewhere we haven't before but this meal left us wishing we had gone to dominos. Meal was not worth the $21 for a large thin crust pizza. Taste was not what I would expect from a $21 pizza. We always tried the cheese bread which was very underwhelming. After spending $33 with delivery and tip we definitely could have eaten better. Not impressed. Plus we paid for ranch and we did not even get the ranch.
