Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Best breadsticks in Louisville! I always get some breadsticks and a pizza for the family and me. The breadsticks are phenomenal. I keep the breadstick pan with all the butter, and dip the pizza into it. It's probably awful for you, but it tastes so good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I think the pizza has too much sauce on it. It almost overpowers the cheese and crust. Overall, Impellizzeri's is a hit and I will definitely be back.

Fantastic NY style pizza with delicious ingredients and consistently made very well. The service is always pleasant and timely. This is a great place to meet for a pint with your friends, or to take your family for a nice pizza dinner. Delicious and consistent.

It's amazing how every time I come here I am the only one in the entire restaurant, considering all the great choices on the menu. The cheese bread is amazing (ask for extra marinara). Other great appetizers include the stuffed mushrooms and jumbo wings. The service is extremely friendly and helpful. They take some time to get with you or ask if you'd like anything else. It's no problem if you sit at the full bar. The pizza rocks! It's cheesy and made with quality toppings. The worst thing I've had was the lasagna. Absolutely the worst-- A bowl of cheese and oil. Whoever cooked it is giving "mama" a bad name. Five star rating. Minus one star for taking Stella off the tap! Why? Why God? Why take Stella off tap? It goes great with Italian food and is meant to be served in a chalice, not a bottle. Add one star back for the stoned high schoolers working the door! Gotta respect the way they spend their minimum wage pay check!

Don't try and order online. They don't have a way to monitor the orders so they don't start making the order until you show up and ask. Problem when you are trying to pickup. Also they can't refund if they miss your order because payments for online orders are through another vendor. Embarrassing tech worse service mediocre pizza when you finally get it.

Pizza is good, but they aren't very accommodating. We ordered a large specialty pizza and asked them to add substitute pepperoni for olives and they said they they can't add toppings. They can remove toppings. Not even for extra money???

4.5 Stars Pizza lovers are very particular. But Impellizzeri's manages to come up in every conversation about Louisville pizza. I finally managed to make it to this location with my wife. From what I've heard...my expectations were high. We went around 6PM on a Saturday night and were promptly sat. We browsed the menu, waited, waited, and waited for a server. My wife had to actually bring it to someone's attention that we have yet to have been seen. However, once our server came by, she was apologetic, friendly, and very attentive. We started with the cheese bread. It's basically a 12" cheese pizza with marinara sauce for dipping. Delicious. Our pie was a 14" pepperoni and Italian sausage. Best pizza I've had in a long time! The cheese was excellent, the sausage is a must and the crust...oh so good. The sauce is...well I don't know how to describe its flavor profile but it's good stuff. The only reason this is not a five star review is because we were not waited on in a reasonable amount of time after being seated. We will definitely be making a return trip to taste some of their other offerings.

This place has the BEST PIZZA in town. I have eaten at all locations but this one is my favorite as far as the food. The pizza is a 10 but was a 10+ when that cook with all the tattoos and big blue eyes was working there. I always requested him to make my pizza because I knew it would come out PERFECT.

You know what, it's Louisville, not a pizza city like Chicago or Boston. So the fact that you can get pizza as good as what Impellizzeri's serves up is nothing short of a miracle. I was extremely impressed with the deluxe pizza we got on regular crust. The pie was smothered with toppings - including their amazing sausage, reputedly made on the premises - but in spite of that the crust was actually crispy on the bottom! Yes, the pie was on the pricey side at about $36 for 16" with extra toppings, but consider ordering something similar from a Papa John's or Dominoes, plus the tip and delivery fee, and it's really not much more expensive (and well worth the markup). Apart from the pizza, we tried several of their appetizers. The cheese bread was not particularly memorable, though we polished it off. The mushrooms were delicious, especially because aforementioned sausage was stuffed inside, though I would have liked to see bigger mushrooms. Finally, because we were a gluttonous group, we also got an Italian grinder and shared it. It was great - packed with delicious cheeses and meats, with the tang of sweet peppers.

Good pizza.... TERRIBLE SERVICE. When they forgot to prepare my order(two separate occasions), told by management it's to be expected because it's the food service industry, and when it happens the second time, the customer must be unlucky. Sounds like a solid business model. Expect mistakes, and if it happens more than once, it"s fate, not bad service. Interesting. Good pizza, if you are "lucky enough" to get one!!

Ate lunch today (only open for lunch on Fri, Sat, Sun!!) with my HH. I was a bit weary since the prices seemed so dang high! We ordered a small with 4 toppings for about $23 without tax (or drinks). The small is a 12 inch pie. It is just right for two when one of you is a guy with a good appetite : ) Anyway, I thought the pizza was great we got the deluxe crust and not the supreme because of time constraints and I am glad we did. It was just right. The bottom of the crust is crunchy and the top under tthe toppings is still soft and a bit chewy. I liked the mix of textures and their home-made sausage is great. I would give 5 stars but seriously, $23 for a 12" pizza is a bit much. I am sure we will go back at some point just not for a while because of the price. The service was good.

My favorite pizza in the world. Louisville style. Medium thick crust with crisp chewy edge. Italian sausage (ground) best I've ever had. Sauce is thick and tomato paste-y. Lots of high quality mozzarella cheese. Heats up great the next day. Just the best! Best breadsticks on Earth!

We got carryout the day before Thanksgiving for a large crowd. The two cheese pizzas we ordered had a thick layer of cheese and very little sauce - felt very heavy. The caesar salads were drenched in dressing and the lettuce was soggy. The fettucini alfredo was pretty good - kids gobbled it up. The meatball subs would have been okay if they would have given us extra red sauce but the sandwiches were very dry. This used to be one of our favorite places. Either we hit it on a bad night or its significantly gone down hill.

Made the trip up as I heard the pizza was great. Not so much - pizza was okay- medium traditional crust - not a lot of flavor and the sauce was light. Sausage topping provided the only flavor, and first few bites of each slice were doughy Paid $18 for a 12" 2-topping. Wouldn't go out of my way to return or pay that much for an "okay" pizza again.

I so look forward to my weekends with Mister. These are my social events for the week.He was in the mood for pizza. We were seated quickly and our server,Laura, was right on the spot with drink orders and appetizer requests. She came by with the drinks and took our pizza order.Mister wanted pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, black olives, and spinach.I nixed the pineapple and Laura agreed it wouldn't go with the other items. She was impressed with this 7 year old's palate. The cheesy bread was excellent and I had to cut off Mister so he would have room for the pie.The pizza was outstanding also, with good flavor and ample toppings. The only thing we had that I didn't care for was an empty seat. I was a fan and now I believe Mister is as well.

As a resident of Louisville for 18 years, Impellizzeri's has always been THE place to go to get a great, non-chain pizza. It had been a while since the wife and I had visited the Brownsboro Road location, so we decided to go after seeing a commercial for "The Triple Crown Special" which includes 3 free toppings on a large, original pizza. We ordered a large, original pizza with 3 toppings, and I ordered a draught beer. Two sips into my beer I thought I had gotten a chunk of ice in my mouth from the frosty glass, but when it didn't melt I realized it was something else - I then pulled a glass shard out of my mouth. I immediately took it to our server, who happened to be the bartender, and he quickly poured me a new one. Another server saw this and seemed more concerned with the problem than our own server - she stopped by our table a while later to ask if the beer was comped and added, "well it better be!" When we received our bill I was quite miffed to see we had been charged for the toppings AND the beer. I pointed this out to our server and he got the manager. The manager came over and had the air of a pissed off police officer forced to pull someone over in the rain. I quickly explained to him that we ordered the large, original crust with 3 free toppings and I also told him about the glass. He ignored the fact that I had nearly ingested a piece of glass and instead lectured me on the difference between a large, original crust with 3 free toppings, and "The Triple Crown Special" which is a large, original crust with 3 toppings for the price of a large, original cheese. Excuse me? Shouldn't your employees know when someone says they want "a large, original crust with the 3 free toppings deal" that they are talking about your special being advertised both on TV AND your own website? The manager took the toppings off the bill, post lecture, but did not comp the beer. What kind of customer service is that?? In a city known for its 'southern hospitality', it's disappointing to know that I have, and will continue, to get better service in downtown Chicago at Giordano's or Uno's. Needless to say, with the plethora of new (and much cheaper) mom-n-pop pizza joints around town, I will never be going back to Impellizzeri's. Going out for a pizza is supposed to be a fun and friendly experience, but we left feeling disrespected.

Taste better than Papa Johns? Not sure. Worth the higher prices? No.

Great place and even better food! Pizza rocks. Strong recommend!

The 12# super pizza is an absolute must. But be sure to call ahead bc it takes 1 hr to make! My husband, who has a big appetite was only able to finish one slice. I almost finished one.... Not Chicago style, but just as thick. For contrast, the thin style is pretty good... But for thin, I still prefer papalinos.
