Disappointed for a Saturday selection & availability of food clean plates & silverware. Came with four colleagues behind a student group and we were followed by a baseball team and their families. Even with the two groups my people and several other families spread out through the restaurant, the place was still only about 50% full. With that I think it's rather unacceptable to have empty food trays at every station. I had to force myself to eat whatever was available to make sure I felt like I got my money's worth for 12pm on a Saturday I was on a trip.......so needless to say I will not be back. OK two stars because 1. Buttered bread rolls were good 2. Self serve juice ice tea coffee and slushee machine is nice touch

Update: my family decided to stop for a quick Sunday dinner. IT IS DISGUSTING. Staff are rude. Selection is bad and what they do have out is not good. We will not be back. There are too many other great places to waste money here.

When it comes to buffets this may be the worst ever. The buffet was messy. Salad bar items were literally floating because the ice bath beneath it had melted. The vegetables are unseasoned, and taste like an aluminum can. The taco meat could be described as a mystery. The only thing that saved me from asking for my money back was the meats. The chicken both baked and fried were well seasoned and moist. The ham and shrimp were also great. The roast beef was over cooked but the au ju sauce was great. Ice cream machine broken. And desserts are nothing mire than store brand frozen cakes and pies. Not even sarah lee. I well never be back again. Update: young man came around to see how everything was. We were honest, it was bad. He said he would get the manager. Instead the manager sent the same young man back with two free meal coupons. Why would I come back. The manager couldnt even come address our issue. Done! Dont go.

$30 for two people. As I sit here I am trying to figure out what the problem is....or rather the cause. There is potential here....but I don't see anyone trying to reach it. One person is stocking the buffet, attending the carve station and stocking the plates. The lady roaming around our area of the huge dining room is making sure she tells people she is not a server but really more of a buser. If that is the case, what is the guy called pushing the busing cart? I guess she will understand when I don't leave a tip. Absolutely NO desserts except ice cream for at least 30 minutes. Okay I feel like I should throw in at least something positive. The drink selection is exciting and you can even get an Icee. I wonder if they are counting that as a dessert? We came from downtown to try this place due to the commercials. Borderline false advertising!

The beginning of the night began well. Then drastically declined, ball full throttle down a steep hill. The price seemed legitimate for two people at an all you can eat buffet, if the food was stocked, plates were available. The manger managed to help himself to the buffet while customers waited too patiently at the carving station for him to return. There sat a glass of soda at his station along with his food, which I'm aware is in total violation of food safety and sanitation. The deserts were less than mediocre, but the pictures were nice. The only reason they are getting a star from me because they had an icee machine! It may be time to retire buffets all together.

I'm disappointed by the quality of the food here. It's buffet food and I get that but it just was so old looking in the pans. For 3 adults I spent $43 I wish I'd made another choice.

We are a family of 6, so buffets and their variety appeal to us when we decide to dine out. We used to go the Rysns buffet in Elizabethtown, Ky; close to where we live... but we stopped going because they have declined dramatically. We were out doing some Christmas Shopping when we decided to give Hometown Buffet a try for lunch. We had been to this location a few times when we are in the area shopping and it hadnt dissapointed before. This visit I gave it three stars. The waitress and cashier were extremely friendly, and made us feel welcomed. The food was sub-par than normally to be expected. They used to have the best mac n cheese, not anymore since they changed to the large cavatappi noodles. The meat selection was dissapointing as well. Many times the food bins were empty and we had to wait quite a while for it to be replenished on the buffet. The dessert selections were pitiful. There used to be several varieties of desserts to choose from, cakes, cookies, pies, puddings, etc. We were lucky to see less about 3 banana pudding cups, and a handful of cobblers. Where was everything else? It seemed they didn't have a baker on staff anymore. This was the same thing we experienced at the Ryans by our house. Since they are both owned by the same company, it appears the company is on its way downhill. The selection, the freshness, the variety...it's no longer there. I will say one big positive was that the kids loved the drink choices, especially the icees. Service...good. Food...needs improving, bring back that great variety and freshness that once was! Will we come back? Probably not until it's revamped and brought back to its "glory days".

Not good for the price. 2 buffets and drinks is $20 fruit was canned and old tasting. Eggs were artificial and rubbery. Gravy was watery. Just all around poor quality of food.

I think Hometown Buffet is good because if you try, you can have a healthy meal. The salad bar is excellent. Lots of choices and very fresh. You can get grilled chicken, steamed veggies, etc and still have a meal that can stay within a diet. I like the taco bar, the chili, and the fried chicken quite a bit. Some things are a bit bland, but overall, I think the food is a better quality level than Golden Corral. The dessert bar is fine. If you go at lunch, it is MUCH cheaper. $5. Dinner is $12. Breakfast is great!!! Made to order omelets. Fresh muffins and cinnamon rolls. The salad bar and taco bar are up for breakfast. Fresh fruit. For $8, it is awesome!

This buffet definitely has a large selection of mediocre food. What can one really expect from a buffet. It seemed to cater to an older crowd, and has some nice dried out basically everything for you to try. If you're looking to just put something I'm your mouth, this is a great place. If you want to eat for taste... Go somewhere else.

No Flavor at all! The only thing that I could find that was good was the fudge in the dessert bar. The meatload wasn't bad either. Pass this up! Its not worth it. I think its still in business b/c its next to a very popular church and the food is always ready when you walk in. I would pass.
