Good food, great service. AC works real well! One of the best ways and fries in awhile. Cajunfries were great and the " Burner" was hot, but not too hot! will be back!

I just have to write an update for this place. It really has gone down hill in terms of service. For some reason the girl behind the counter kept on questioning everything we said. We'd say we want a custom burger and she would be like "Custom Burger?! What that?" Ummmm... I don't know... that's what you call it when you get to pick your toppings!!!!!!!! And oh my god let me tell you, we asked for condiments and she stopped us right in the middle of the sentence to ask what condiments were... I have no clue what planet she was from, but it definitely wasn't Earth. Suffice to say I will be going back to Home Run, just not anytime soon because I'm just not dealing with that level of obnoxious.

A local Louisville chain that is much like 5 Guys, however, they add extras to their menu. You have more options for toppings and other sides. The kids and I were travelling through and wanted burgers and shakes. Home Run Burgers came up on Yelp and it fit the bill. We were there during an off time as so had plenty of time to order. The staff was patient and answered our questions. Once we ordered they started preparing our meals. The side salad came with onion noodles which were made fresh. Overall, a good burger joint.

The burgers here are pretty good - we could use more seasoning on the meat. My burger was a bit undercooked. These burgers are very similar to Five Guys burgers, but there's more variety of toppings and cheeses available here. Great service and friendly staff.

Pretty good burgers and fries here. I'm imposing a one-star penalty because this location serves horrible Gold Peak swill rather than freshly brewed iced tea. I'm not sure why they have made that choice since some other Home Run locations serve real iced tea. So, my rating is Burger 4 stars Drink -1 star

Environment was clean, staff was friendly, food came out FAST. I ordered a customized mushroom and Swiss. I really like that you can change anything without an up charge. Super bonus. I would've been willing to wait a few extra seconds so my cheese was all melted and gooey. The cashier recommended the Cajun fries...the seasoning was spot on but there was too much of it. Overall I'd say this is a great little hidden gem. The prices are competitive for the area, the food quality and taste was great...just needed a couple tiny adjustments, and everyone working was friendly and professional. I'll be back for sure!

Went for lunch today and got the Heater Double w Cajun Fries and a fountain Cherry Coke. This was supposed to be a monster of hot flavor. It was just a sloppy mess. I should never say this i know but it was too much hot sauce on the burger. As in, they should have kept it in the burger instead of all over the bun. It made it a soggy mess to eat. But damnit, it was still good. The pepperjack cheese, cajun spice and jalapenos were great. Mix that with the cajun fries and this was a good $10 spent on a burger.

the burgers & fish sandwiches are great, but what makes it all outstanding is the out of this world tartar sauce!!!!!

I don't know why some people value it as less than 4 stars. I mean, when my family and I went there, we all tried one of the burgers already done (because there's the option to make your own). I chose the Mushroom Swiss, and it was great! Especially if you are looking for a healthier , I believe the patty of these ones has no hormones, and personally I noticed the flavor; it seemed more "natural" and therefore less "heavy". A MUST try! :-)

It's not really like in and out so I don't get that comparison. It is a lot like Five Guys except a bit cheaper and the fries are different. 4 out of 5 times I'd prefer this place over Five Guys. Not really any recommendations, just order a burger with the toppings you like. Generally I think people overdue it when it comes to toppings. If you can't taste the meat and comfortably fit the burger in your mouth then it's not a good burger.

The fish and hot dogs are not that good and way over priced. The lunch specials are excellent. 28 free toppings I do believe. And the fries are amazing. Customer service is hit and miss. The owner and managers are awesome. The young people are hit and miss. I order quite a few things on my burgers. 7 out of 10 times they forget a topping.

Home Run Burgers seems like a crude attempt at trying to imitate the popular In-N-Out Burger franchise, since the burgers are particularly good. With that in mind, during my very short stint in Louisville, KY, friends and I came over here and we tried them out for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was your typical fast food layout joint. Nothing fancy, but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was relatively quick and pleasant, so was the overall experience of ordering and receiving our respective meals on a timely basis. We wanted to go support more of our crazy marathoner peeps who was running a trail marathon the day after the Kentucky Derby marathon. (I would've considered it, but declined due to it being a tough trail anyway). But anyway, we ordered on one big ticket and the wait was about 15 minutes, so we just had to wait. Regardless of the overall experience, the important factor in fast food is the quality and taste of the finished product. Quite frankly, this one is pretty close to In-N-Out Burger, if you can call it that. Although I am more or less partial to Five Guys now. Any burger joint that can match the caliber of either In-N-Out or Five Guys is aces in my book. Can't wait to go back, although I hope they aren't just locally in Louisville, Ky only, but sadly, it looks like they are. Oh well. Guess that's another excuse or reason to return to Louisville, I suppose. The French fries are great, hot, and crispy like how they should be. I enjoyed these fries, versus the Burger King version and it still rocks! The burger I got was their double cheeseburger combo, which was 2 all beef patties with 2x cheese. It was so good! The prices are a bit pricey, but if you are a fan of meat and cheese, this is money well spent for sure. Get your ass down here and see why. They aren't Louisville's best burger for nothing! Support local! B+

We've tried lots of the new-ish burger places (smash burger, Five Guys) and this one is our fave. Great value, lots of toppings, great buns (the Five Guys buns are the worst!), good fries. We just wish they had shakes, too.

Just went here today and found out that this place is pretty good. Very baseball theme-y and at first, I thought it was a pizza shop. The service was quick and there were SO MANY different toppings that you could put on a burger. I would find this place comparable to Five Guys, not bad. You cannot go wrong with the lunch special and Cajun fries.

I love burgers. I'm originally from california, and I absolutely miss in-n-out burgers. They are so fresh and so yummy. Home run burger is pretty close to the in-n-out burgers as long as you get it with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions with thousand island dressing. The meat always tastes fresh and I've never had a bad tasting burger before. The only downside. The fries are not as good as in n out. They're just regular fries. I give them 4 stars because of the quality and their customer service. They are always so polite and happy to serve you. The place is always very neat and clean, which is a must for a restaurant. They always have a groupon deal so get one if you haven't already. i wish I could buy more than one, because I would go back to home run burger more often if I had more of those groupons. These burgers and fries are not cheap. They come around $7-8 once you get a fries and a drink. Overall a pretty good burger joint.

What's not to like? Home Run Burgers is good ole meat-eatin' God-fearin' Norman Rockwell, Mom, apple pie, Lady Liberty, rugged individualism for dinner. Baseball-themed burgers, fountain drinks & fries, hot dogs and shakes. (Actual slogun: "It's a Hit!") Surely, Patrick Henry would appreciate the consumer empowerment -- you build your own sandwich from a list of 26 free toppings. Adam Smith would dig the prices, which are competitive with most fast food eateries. And I don't think Ben Franklin would turn down a "Bases Loaded Burger" if I can take this ridiculous line of "thought" way too far. Bottom line, it's a nice little joint in a mall that serves up decent all-American fare. Probably an awesome place to take your family of 4. In a pinch, I'd be happy to go back too.

The Build-a-Bear of burgers. Home Run serves up some pretty solid burgers and fries and they epitomize our culture's "have-it-your-way" mentality. Two types of burgers - Big League (two patties) and Little League (one patty). To either burger you can add cheese (American, Swiss, Pepper Jack or shredded Cheddar), bacon, guacamole or a fried egg for a cost, as well as twenty five additional free toppings. My wife opted for simplicity: one patty with cheddar, bacon and grilled onions. I opted to take advantage of those free toppings: two patties with grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, dill pickle slices, ketchup and 1000 Island. Our burgers arrived hot and freshly made on top of a fairly hefty bun. I felt mine needed a bit of seasoning salt, which they graciously make available at the counter (along with garlic salt, Lawry's seasoning salt, hot sauce, malt vinegar, etc.) In terms of other menu items, we've had both their regular and their Cajun fries, which they "cook" (i.e. deep fry) fresh for every order and their rolled oysters (per Robin Garr's food review website) which we thought were pretty underwhelming. I'll take one of their burgers any day over a mouth full of plain-tasting, deep-fried batter and an itsy-bitsy oyster. At the end of the day, we left "Build-a-Burger" thoroughly satisfied and having used our $10 Groupon, succeeded in only spending one cent for our meal.

Truly an average burger. If you're looking for a decently priced, respectable, burger in fries, with par service to boot, then this is your place! I ordered the standard cheeseburger and it was assuredly standard. To be fair, their fries were pretty good. Will we be back? Yes. Unfortunately, we purchased two groupons.

I've never been to one, and will never go again. The woman at the register was very rude. She kept pressuring us even though we told her "just a minute" as we looked over the menu. She eventually barked again, rolled her eyes and gave her back to us. Very disappointed. I'd recommend Jason's Deli right around the corner: fantastic service and food!

Awesome fish burger!! Love that you can choose to have it on a rye bread roll, fish cooked perfectly and a generous portion. Fries are very good but just a little on the soggy side...need to fry them twice for perfection. Spouse had a burger which I tasted and that also was excellent...juicy, flavorful and cooked perfectly. Fantastic selection of toppings too. Prefer this place to Five Guys and will definitely be back.

I was really surprised at how much I liked this place. For what it is, it's about as good as it gets. I absolutely LOVE that you can get whatever you want on your burger/sandwich without being charged an arm and a leg for it. They charge you a base price for the burger, and then you can add whatever you want for free. Including the premium ingredients, like sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, jalapenos, etc., that are normally an extra charge. And they have a surprisingly wide diversity of items (I mean, I had never seen A1 offered as an option on the menu before). Additionally, a small thing I greatly appreciate, they had the condiments out and available for use. I have strong affinities for both Tabasco and malt vinegar, and they were both there. Awesome. Plus, they were rocking some groovy oldies music! The GF and I had a lot of fun singing along (quietly) to the songs. Great stuff.

This place has really really good burgers, local beef too. The fries and onion rings are delicious and I love the oldies music playing. Great place to stop by and eat a quick meal and the prices are quite fair. 2 can eat for 15 bucks. I highly recommend it.

This is basically a local version of Five Guys or In-N-Out. As such, it's probably my favorite fast casual burger joint in town. If you're familiar with Five Guys, and I don't know why you wouldn't since the chain is fairly ubiquitous among the more trendy shopping developments, then everything will be pretty familiar to you, with a few exceptions... exceptions that, in my opinion, give Home Run the edge (besides being an actual local business). For example, the toppings selection is larger and more varied. Dude, green chilis... have those piled on thick with their blend of cajun spices and their "heater" sauce, and you've got a dope burger. Additionally, the patty isn't monstrous, which I like. You can get the double if you wanna go burgin' real hard like, but the single is generally satisfying. The patty's size fits somewhere between In and Out's thinner slaty patties and Five Guys' unnecessarily large and greasy meat slab. Additionally, I prefer the more buttery, less eggy flavor of Home Run's buns over the competition. The main drawback to Home Run is its inherently corniness. Like, you walk in and the staff yells "batter up!," no shit. Totally freaks me out every time, like a jack in the box (not the eatery). Of course, it'd be awesome to see a bison burger option in the future, since that makes the best burgers, but I must tip my hat their way for offering healthy options like the veggie burger. I haven't tried it yet, but hear it's pretty deece. Basically, in the immortal words of Donnie, "those are good burgers, dude."

Tasty but forgot my cheese on my cheeseburger - it happens. Good enough to give them another chance. I like the wide variety of toppings they offer.

Here is a place where I am a repeat offender. You can get your special made to order burger with 25 toppings to choose from as well as all the sauces and cheeses you would want on your burger. The service is what you would expect and I guess depending on what time of day you are there, they either bring it to you or yell out your number. The burgers and chicken sandwiches are always good and filling. I still have yet to try the frankfuters, but the fries are twice cooked and delicious. It is always nice to have a little skin on them. BIG HEAD must have some type of sponsorship deal with this place because I have never seen so many decals on the walls in one place. See you guys soon!

Well... Pretty good! I would of given it 4 stars for the food. The first time I came, it was kind of confusing. So many choices, so many things. That can be a good thing and a bad thing. I will probably return, but I might spend some time looking at the menu haha. Fries are HUGE. One order of those will fill me up for the whole day. I just got a grilled chicken sandwich, and that was yummy. Overall, I will come back.

A little greasy but fresh ingredients are used. The big league burger is huge and really good. The 25 free toppings for your burger are generous too. The portions of hand cut fries and onion rings are generous. I'm a huge baseball fan and I personally love the decor but for some it could be a little hokey. Lastly, they play alot of oldies which is fine by me.

  • Shal V.

The burgers are good but nothing special. You have 25 free toppings to choose from, which gives you the opportunity to customize your burger but the burger itself isn't moist and juicy. I went here the previous night and had their special which was a burger with 2 beef patties, pepperjack cheese, green chillies, jalapeno and Frank's Hot Sauce (uninspiringly titled "the Heater" - a rather unimaginative and prosaic appellation). It was pretty good. So today I decided to go back for lunch to satisfy my burger fix. I got the Big League Burger without any toppings just so I could taste the meat and ensure the toppings hadn't masked the flavor or quality of the meat. I must add they do have a sign that indicates the burgers don't have much flavor or seasoning by themselves but that is almost quite literally the case - I didn't expect it to be that bland. The burger I had today was not burnt but it was a bit dry and probably had a hint of salt. Other than that, it was not that much better than what you'd get at McDonald's or Burger King while being slightly pricier. I added ketchup and a wee bit of mayo to make the burger juicier. It's certainly not bad by any means but it's not the best burger I've eaten. The Cajun fries are pretty good though.
