In a sea of chain spots downtown, it's nice to spend some time in the local island of Heine Brothers. It has all of the normal yummy coffee drinks found at the other HBs around town, and the staff has always been courteous, quick and professional. It's smaller than many other HB spots, but that makes for quickly getting coffee when on the go. And considering this shop is more for people passing through, there isn't a ton of seating. But there are a few spots to lounge in case you're meeting someone or just want to get away for a peaceful moment. This shop, like the others, also carries some sandwiches and snacks, so you won't have to fill a grumbling tummy with just caffeine. Grab a scone and a coffee and set off on your day.

I hate coffee and tea but I love free Wi-Fi!!! They also have tables and chairs outside that I like to sit on during my breaks so I can get some fresh air and watch everyone in the rat race walk by! The staff is friendly.

Good solid local coffee, brewed straight or doctored up with fancy flavors. No annoying Starbucks-like jargon, vastly superior brew. There's a decent selection and the staff was great. We popped in after house hunting in January on the way back to the hotel, half-frozen, and the creme brulatte really hit the spot. I've visited other locations since and they've been good as well.

I stopped into the Heine Brothers coffee for tea mostly while I was in Louisville. I caught a nasty bug and needed a good hot toddy. Looked like a nice cozy little shop, so I stopped in. Since I make the best toddies around, I ordered up a couple tea bags and cups and brought them back to my room to make with bourbon, honey and hot tea. The tea was really good. On another day, I brought my guy by for a cup of coffee after lunch. He loves good coffee and they have a variety of really good and strong beans. Nice coffee shop with good service and great beverages.

All Heine Bros get 5 stars from me. My favorites about these coffee shops: -iced green jasmine tea -their local snack offerings (vegan jerky, najla's cookies, kizito treats, and lotsa pasta sandwiches) -the most friendly baristas you can imagine! I wish this one was open later so that i could go grab an evening tea on occasion with my beau. Its the closest one to where we live.

So I'm pretty picky with my chai lattes. Most of the time they are too milky. However I came here the other day, and ordered a dirty chai and it was perfect! Not too milky at all. I also had a scone, which was delicious! Will be coming back!

I adore this coffee shop, in large part due to the staff and the best Americano around. It is also important to me that their coffee is organic and fair trade. This shop is not one with tables and a cozy atmosphere though the staff makes it warm and inviting. I interact with about 5 of them regularly and they all remember me and all of the regulars who cone in during our work day. Jamie is particularly personable and professional. All that and they carry vegan snack bars, small cups of trail mix, bananas and other healthy snack options amidst the sea of junk on Fourth street. Come here and not the Starbucks across the street and you'll be glad you did.

Yay! I AM A FAN! First off I prefer the atmosphere over Starbucks...why, because the music is lower, the workers are cuter and the chairs are more comfy. I tried their newest addition, Mayan Mocha!!! HOLY SHIT BALLS BATMAN, its amazing. OK so It's mochaee and it's spicy. It reminds me of Abuelita, Mi Abuelita would make this for us when we were little so it took me back! Thanks Heine Brothers' for the comfy accommodations and the nostalgic beverage.

If you are contemplating going to the Starbucks in the Seelbach, just walk across the street and go to Heine Brothers instead. The quality of the coffee is far superior, plus you have the added bonus of supporting a local company. So, it's a win-win. They also have a rewards program, which is nice.

Great place to grab a delicious cup of coffee and free wi-fi! We really enjoyed our visit here recently (first time in Louisville). My boyfriend got a black cup of joe and I got a latte. We were pleased with both! And the wait staff was great! We will definitely visit again if we are ever in the area again.
