Burgers
Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Most burger restaurants in the United States often serve hamburgers with French fries and other condiments. If you have a liking for burgers in the United States, then you won't be disappointed. You can easily find the best burger restaurants in your city on our Restaurants Listings directory. I'M BAAAAAACCKK. The owners are likely to hate me when I say this because I know they're reading and, honestly, what's my little review compared to all the other glowing reviews for Grind? But I have to be honest. So here goes. I know when I first reviewed I checked in on the opening day of the Grind Restaurant location, and as I said, it may not be a fair assessment. So now after a few months and a little time to ruminate, I felt it might be time to circle again. This time around, I tried the B&B, because (1) bacon, and (2) brie, and well (3), on a burger, so what could be wrong with that? It's a delicious burger, the sweet brie plus habanero jam and the salty bacon are a wonderful pairing. The crispiness on one side of the flat-grilled burger is a nice touch. However, the burger, even cooked to medium, becomes a bit dry when flat-grilled, even as thick as the pattie is, and the fat from the bacon and the creamy brie are necessary to really give it a little juice. I still find it difficult to get past the price point at $11 for this particular burger and the others on the menu. I get it, top-notch ingredients and a gourmet style, but it's not large by any means and I always come away just a little hungry. If I look at some of the more complex burger joints in Louisville, I'm finding it a bit over-priced for what it is. For instance, Mussel & Burger Bar near Hurstbourne, cheaper, bigger, and a far more unique atmosphere. Big Four Burgers in Jeff, the burgers may not be quite as good, but the ambience is a little more unique. I'm happy to see that the Grind Restaurant has really come out of the gate strong though, and that really is a testament to the work they've done through their food truck throughout Louisville. I do look forward to all the unique experimentation they continue to do with food and flavors, and I'll probably be back, with a little more money in hand.

I've been here two nights in a row now, largely because it's within walking distance of the hotel and has the best reviews of anything within walking distance of the 4 Points Sheraton. The first night I tried the "What the Kale?": salad and got chicken on it. Their chicken added to the kale salad is actually not straight chicken breast, but what they would used in the chopped chicken sandwich, so smoked chicken chopped and mixed with smoked habanero honey mustard, pepper jack, and pickled sweet peppers. The stuff is legit good. I wish the salad was a bit bigger, but when I make my own, I get comments about how big they are, maybe it's wishful thinking, but gees... if I'm eating salad, I want a big one! :) The second night I got the special and got it "salad style." It was basically a burger, with what I believe was the bacon jam, Gruyere cheese, and pickled celery on it. It was really good. Their beef is really tender (I got mine done medium) and the toppings were excellent. Salad style didn't really include a significant amount of lettuce, but... oh well. I think if I go back tomorrow, I'll order a half size What the Kale and get a burger on it. I tried the brussel sprouts as well. They were good, a little salty for my liking and a little more oil on them than I would have liked. I'm a fan of having them a little crispy and not oversalted. Anyway, this place is a solid place and certainly the best thing within walking distance of the convention center that I could find.

My cousin recommended this place about a month ago and today I happened to be driving through town and I decided to give it a shot. And I'm sure glad I did! I ordered the Southern Burger. The patty itself had obviously been smashed on the griddle, so the edges were very crispy while the center remained very juicy and thick! Between it's seasoning and natural juicyness, the flavor was perfect! The sharp cheddar pimento cheese was indeed very sharp, just the way I like it! The bacon slices were thick. And although I am not usually a fan of spicy or a fan of pickles, their spicy pickles were awesome! They had a mild spicy kick at first bite that soon melted away into a lightly pickled flavor of goodness. I also ordered side of the crispy brussels sprouts which were a roasted to perfection and absolutely delicious! I can't wait to visit again!

The B&B Burger is like a combination of all things awesome. There's the flavorful burger patty. The gooey, soft brie cheese. The large strips of bacon. I chose to go with the apricot jam, as opposed to the habanero jam, which added a bit of sweetness. And then on either side of the B&B's fillings, like a squishy hug, is the soft bun. This burger hits the spot no matter what kind of day you're having and what else you've eaten lately. And even better, I got to enjoy it in Grind's newish digs -- its brick-and-mortar location on Preston Highway. There was always something special about spying the Grind food truck and knowing that I could get one of their delectable burgers. But now that I know where I can find Grind -- no matter the day, for lunch or dinner -- is even better. And the fact that it is a bit off the beaten path, still makes it special and seem a bit under the radar. Grind is definitely a treat that the locals seek out, though I suspect that more and more it's landing on the lists of visitors as well. I also tried the duck fat fingerlings and the garlic aioli. The fingerlings didn't pack quite the punch that I had expected, given that they were made with duck fat, but still, these were better than 99 percent of any other such dish I've had. The server was quick to clear our plates and was courteous. All in all, a great first visit to the Grind location, hopefully just the first of many to come!

Great basic burgers and some interesting special burgers. Awesome Brussels Sprouts as an alternate side to fries. Best of all, nice quality craft beer menu. This place is great, simple, focused, and doing what they do extremely well.
(5)steve s.
In town for trade show. Had the Special, the Marksbury Farm Pork sausage with side of Brussels sprouts. The sausage had very subtle flavor and tender texture. Went well with honey mustard seeds and sweet pickles. The star was the sprouts with sweet vinegarette. Add a pint of a local beer and a clean quaint atmosphere and you get 5 stars.
(5)Bill B.
Surprising and delicious! This little hole in the wall place where patrons fetch their own water and place the order direct with the bartender gas about one of the best burgers I have ever had. I enjoyed the house special which was there 1/3 pound Grind burger with house made beer cheese and two large chunks of mouth watering pork belly with a garnish of arugula. Had a side of their delicious hand cut fries and washed it down with a locally brewed Carsons Purgatory American IPA. The burger was certainly the star of the meal. The tender and savory pork belly added a depth of flavor and texture that harmoniously complimented the juicy, perfectly medium rare burger. Wish I had more time in Louisville to enjoy some of this establishment's offering.
(5)Dominic S.
B&B Burger is probably the best burger in town. Nothing extreme, just perfect mix of fresh and unique. Place doesn't look like much, but just heard they are getting a bigger/newer building. Beer on Tap selection is fantastic! A little pricey as most other people commented, but won't keep me away.
(4)Jeremy A.
Food was great. Best burger place I have eaten at and also has vegetarian option if your into that crap. Also great beer selection.
(5)Zachary H.
Got the B + B. Best burger I've ever had. The meat was so well seasoned and the bacon was perfectly crispy and the habanero jam added a nice amount of heat. The brussel sprouts were also fantastic.
(5)Laura S.
I ordered the southern burger and a build you own, with an order of fries to split. The southern burger claims to have pimento cheese on it, but there was no additional flavor added because of that. Claimed to have spicy pickles as well, but there was no heat to this burger at all. The build your own was okay, but there wasn't any difference in the beef flavor from your run of the mill off a grill any where else. The fries were standard, from a frozen bag and overly salted. The most memorable part of this meal was the chocolate brownie, which they don't even make. Service was okay, we gave them extra time because they were pretty busy.
(3)Matt K.
Looks can be deceiving, so don't let the outside discourage you. Just had lunch there about an hour ago, and it was really good! Craft beer and great burgers, how can you go wrong?! Built my own burger w/fries, and it was very good. A little more done than the medium I ordered, but still tasted great. Nice atmosphere, and friendly service topped it off. It's a bit more expensive than you might expect, but worth it.
(4)Joseph S.
The best burgers hands down. We have been following Grind around town for the past few years and have NEVER be disappointed! If I had to steer you towards any one item on the menu I would say go with whatever catches your eye first. The whole menu from the smoked honey for your fries to the B&B burger proves these guys KNOW what they doing. Ps Veggie burger is crazy good!
(5)John R.
Arguably the best burger that I have ever had. I was visiting for business and discovered this place about a mile away from my hotel near the airport. I made my own burger with bacon, american, a fried egg, and some smoked ketchup. My favorite part about the burger was actually the bun. Compared to 5 Guys and Wahlburger's (Boston is home) this place wins. Did i mention they have local beer on tap? Eat here. Period.
(5)Eva L.
Mmmmm... Just finished the B&B with the apricot jam. Salty and sweet on a soft bun. The kale salad was delish as a nice side. Really pleased with this gametime decision for lunch with my girlfriends.
(5)Kolin K.
This place is thebomb.com Come to OTR in Cincy for your next location. We need a niche burger joint like this with a focus on supporting local farmers and sustainability. Great burger at a reasonable price. I drove by it twice trying to find it but it was worth it. Next time in Louisville I'm def checking this place out again. I had the B&B burger with fries and smoked ketchup. Would recommend to anyone!
(5)Stephanie R.
This place was amazing! Quick friendly service. B&B was delicious and the brussel sprouts were out of this world!!
(5)Anthony N.
The food was not bad, but its not worth the price that was a 5 dollar burger at best and the fries were barely mediocre all I'm saying is that it is good if you don't mind paying for an overpriced burger and fries.
(3)St Paul C.
Fantastic place for a great burger. Close enough to the airport to be a must-stop for travelers, especially if said traveler likes to impress others with their great local finds. I had a custom burger with a fried egg, pepperjack, and spicy pickles. The closest burger I've had to this one was at the Blue Door Pub in Saint Paul. Grind might want to take a hint from them and add a smear of peanut butter. It's better than it sounds. Ordering at the desk was different, but worked well. It's interesting that our party of four received their food one at a time, maybe the grill us real small. I liked the serve-yourself water table. I'll be back, probably every time I'm in town.
(5)Jessica B.
Sweet lord baby jesus this is the best hamburger I've ever had. Ever. Like, in my whole life. I'm talkin' about the southern burger, y'all. It even made me talk with a heavier accent. I'm ashamed to say that Grind is just a stones throw away from my house and I only recently made it there for the first time. Rest assured that it will not be the last...I may even just stop grocery shopping and eat there for every meal.
(5)Paula A.
Had the B & B burger with the apricot jam, excellent. But the real star was the crispy Brussel sprouts, a definite must-try. Interesting little place...
(5)Amanda H.
The burgers are amazing! Went on s first date there. Something we just randomly wanted a good burger. Found the perfect place. An the staff was great. Explained anything we had questions on. Waiting till we had a few bites of food before asking how things were. Nothing is more annoying then people asking how the food is before you ate it. Love it!
(5)Mike A.
So tasty! This is my new favorite burger joint. Best part is all burgers are grass fed local beef. This biggest difference from typical burgers is this is the smoothest tastiest burgers I've had. I'd put a blind taste competition between the grind burger and Kobe burger and it's a toss up in who wins. Grind burger w/ fried is approx $13 and worth every penny. Staff is super friendly and helpful.
(4)Shelly J.
Love this little place! You order at the counter, grab a number and sit. The burger was delicious and the Brussels sprouts were awesome. I can't wait to go back and try different burgers.
(5)Shanna G.
We each tried the B&B burger. It was delicious! I had the apricot jam, and my friend had the habanero. You can't go wrong with either choice. Will definitely go again, next time I'm in town.
(5)Ryson W.
The burgers at Grind are good but I think it is way overpriced. It will run you $14 for a burger and fries here, the same price as some of the best restaurants in Louisville (Jack Fry's). I just can't justify spending that. The ambiance isn't that great, a bit hectic and unfinished. Just meh.
(3)John G.
Doesn't look like much from the outside l, but don't let that stop you. I had the B&B on a gluten free bun. Meat was fresh and tasty, bun was pretty good, toppings-especially the habanero jam, were incredible. Awesome fries and tasty brussel sprouts. The guys running the place were friendly and on top of everything. I'm glad to have found this place during my visit.
(5)Olga I.
Wow! For a chicken sandwich this is as good as it gets. So many flavors perfectly combined together to make for a flavor explosion in your mouth. Fries were pretty good. Will be back to try the burgers.
(5)Eric A.
Wonderful burgers! I really love this place. It looks from the outside like a dive bar but the inside has a great ambiance. It has a great beer selection also.
(5)Alana M.
My husband is always a sceptic... But this spot is a winner! Not your average burger joint. It has good quality beef in each burger! The food came out delicious! The folks were really nice too! I like to try new restaurants especially locally owned. This is definitely a winner!
(5)Neil G.
If you like delicious burgers, craft drafts and with a gastropub feel, this is the place to go. Absolutely loved this and will definitely be back. The best parts about this place's atmosphere is that it's hidden, the great tunes, and wonderful staff. Did I mention the burgers are great?!
(5)Brad G.
The awesome from the food truck carries over to the restaurant. Weekly specials are always to die for! If I'm not getting the special, I normally go straight for the B&B. B&B Burger Brie Cheese Bacon Apricot or Habanero jam (I normally go with the apricot over the habanero) I do think I should mention the kale salad as a side. Perfect companion to any of these burgers. I hope this place stays around forever!
(5)Michael H.
Simply done food that's well crafted! The smoked ketchup is a great addition to the menu and there were plenty of craft beers from which to choose. I could eat at this place weekly...
(5)Bru S.
Needed to find a place within walking distance of my hotel and found this place. Major thumbs up. I had the B&B burger and fries. Burger was cooked as I asked, bacon was crisp, the Brie was excellent, the bun was nice and soft but the real surprise was the habanaro jam. OMG that was really great. Just a little kick so you know that it's there. The fries were perfectly crisp. Great burger.
(4)Jack D.
A MUST VISIT. Outstanding food and great beer menu. I had an Against The Grain IPA to drink with a Southern Burger and Fries with Habanero Honey. Possibly the best burger I've ever had. Fries were exceptional and Habanero Honey on the fries was a nice change from the norm. I will be back and looking forward to trying the B&B burger.
(4)Kevin H.
Excellent burger. I had the B&B with Brie Cheese, Bacon and Apricot Jam. Very flavorful. Friendly staff. If I'm ever in Louisville again, I will be sure to stop by.
(4)Jim G.
I finally got my chance to drop in here on Friday the 8th. I've been to the food truck while it parked at the Douglass Loop Flea and knew what to expect. I believe the execution is a little more solid in this HQ kitchen based on my meal; the "special" featured a lemon thyme-laced mayo (maybe a hint of the juice of the lemon directly) that was, hmm, yeh, that really was "the special." Drawbacks? - The special alone was 12 bucks. That is a price commensurate to somewhere not named Louisville (but I bet there're plenty pricier burgers out Hurstbourne that are not nearly this good). I had already established that Grind burgers are among the best burgers I'll ever eat; so it didn't bother me. So long as their kitchen keeps surprising me like this. - The service and location and building are as low-key as you'll find, so probably not for everyone. - Parking is in a private lot that is perpendicular to Preston so might involve backing into traffic on some occasions, so be careful.
(5)Tim M.
Nice little place. The burger on gluten free bun was excellent. Good selection of beers. I will definitely be back soon.
(4)Sandra P.
Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had! Great service, great food! Thanks!!
(5)Kevin M.
Had been wanting to try the burgers since they opened after hearing so many good things. Have to say I came away disappointed. Had the B and B burger with habanero jam. To me the heat and sweetness just did not go well with the burger. The meat was good, the bun could have been fresher. Just not good enough to justify the price. Expecting one of the best burgers in town but just didn't get it. My son wasn't too thrilled with his regular burger either. Probably won't be back.
(3)Orlando G.
Drive by and you might miss this hole-in-the-wall burger joint. I got the B&B burger with the habanero sauce and it's what made the burger. That sauce was phenomenal! The cheese was also great, and the meat of course was amazing, too. Definitely recommend this spot.
(5)Eat Me Louisville ..
Eat Me Louisville is simply my attempt at sharing my food experiences throughout the Kentuckian area. An unbiased honest peek into the foodie scene. My focus is on great unpretentious everyday food, "Diners, drive ins, dives" & Food trucks... Yesterday I visited the Grind Burger Kitchen off Preston. I was pretty excited to try a Grind Burger after all I've heard & read. My order was the "chain burger" & side of fries. The atmosphere was your basic cool place, a very comfortable dive. The person taking my order must have been new? She seemed confused and had that deer in the headlights don't ask me any questions please, look... But she/they got the order correct. In only 5-7 mins out came my burger... My first thought was it was smaller than expected?! (I just like a big thick juicy burger). Also it wasn't very juicy and was quite salty but the beef blend was tasty, especially around the grilled edges. My bun was warm & had great flavor. The fixings on the burger were as plentiful as a McDonald cheeseburger... I guess that's why they call it the "chain"?! It's just like a burger you get at a chain restaurant. Over all I was not impressed. The fries were very good and were similar to any fresh cut fry in the area... The part that bothered me the most was that I paid $14 for a small burger, fries & a can of coke..... They are going to have to do better next time.
(3)Samantha E.
The burger was great. The fries were average. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The floors disgusted me though. They were sticky which made me wonder how clean the kitchen is.
(4)Timothy L.
Meh. Average burger given the competition here in Lou. It may have been the hype, but I was thoroughly let down. I had the Southern (cheddar pimento spread, bacon, and spicy dill pickles). I was hoping for a flavor explosion but the whole thing was bland. The meat was tasteless and it was scant on the pickles. The fries were ok, a little soggy. We also had the What The Kale salad which was probably my favorite. My wife got the B&B and she wasn't impressed. It's a shame. We won't be going back. Holy Grale and Hammerheads are in a whole other realm compared to a Grind burger.
(3)Jamie B.
This may be the best burger I've ever had and I've never said anything like that before. I had the B&B which is brie/bacon with habenero jelly. I ordered it med-rare and it came more med to med well and I told the server but - would not give it back. Next time med-rare but this was so good. Please do yourself a favor and drive here now as fast as safety allows.
(4)Nicole K.
Unassuming location delivered one of the best meals I've ever had. The kale salad is my favorite salad in the city and the B&B burger is tops. That habanero honey though...put that on any and everything.
(5)Trevor D.
I eat here a couple times a week because burgers. Burgers are a deceptively simple thing to make, so that means most aren't so great at it. Grind hits the nail on the head. If you want conventional food it's available but that's not what they're about, though even your standard burger is treated with care. The stars of the show are the quality ingredients prepared well and kept simple. No pretenses, just juicy delicious servings of the American Dream.
(5)Heather M.
This place has awesome burgers! This will be my place to go when I want a burger. The atmosphere in the restaurant is interesting and comfortable. The people who work there couldn't be nicer. Everything was great top to bottom!!
(5)Travis L.
As far as taste goes, this place has a great burgers. I have only tried the B&B, but I am a big fan. The service is very friendly and the sides are also delightful. However, the my only complaint is price. As delicious as everything is, it would be nice if portions went up or price went down. I was still a little hungry after going and spent a good amount of money on a burger and a side.
(4)Corey H.
Burgers are good but not "$10/burger with no side + $3 for fries + $ for a beverage" good. No frills decor isn't a problem, you order at the counter with an expected tip, things are fresh & local including local craft beers (some on draft). Not necessarily family friendly for families with kids on the single digits; it's fine for Tweens & above. I liked the burgers, fries, and beer but it simply wasn't good enough for the price.
(2)T R.
This place is amazing! If you're looking for a different twist on the same old burger, this is your place! The B&B was fabulous, as well as the Southern. The fries are crisp and plentiful. Try the pimento cheese dip for the fries - yum!
(5)Justin L.
Are you kidding me...found this amazing jewel in Yelp just after we landed at the Louisville Airport. We had one of every burger, the chopped chicken sandwich, and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts. Everything was mouth watering. And they have amazing gluten free buns as an option. Don't pass this up.
(5)Ricky B.
These burgers are the bomb yo. And the fries are crispy like you ain't neva seen! Took my bae there she was like what!!!!! This burger is off the chains..she still wouldn't let me hit it tho.
(5)David O.
This place is awesome. I had the grind burger with pepper jack cheese and added bacon. Also had a basket of fries. Highly recommend trying this place out you will not regret it. Great selection of beers as well.
(5)Zach E.
Fantastic burgers at a great price for such high-quality ingredients. When a local food critic interviewed the owners by quoting their website FAQ, he noted, "We use local, grass-fed beef. Our primary supplier is Foxhollow Farm in Crestwood," say Grind owners Liz and Jesse Huot. "We buy whole cuts and grind all the meat ourselves to create our own proprietary blend. ... It's our policy to not sell you beef of unknown origins. This means that going to the grocery store and buying more beef is simply not an option." Love the B&B especially. Also, one of the best veggie burgers out there.
(5)Sarah H.
In my opinion Grind has the best burgers in Louisville. I have been twice now and tried two different burgers and both were fantastic. My first visit I had the Southern burger. It has sharp pimento cheese, spicy dill pickles, and crispy bacon. It was divine. I've had burgers with pimento cheese at a few other restaurants and this one was by far the best. The ratio of cheese to meat was perfect. The crispy bacon gave the perfect amount of salt and crunch and the pickles provided a very pleasing zip! On my most recent visit I had the daily special burger. It was topped with a fig and onion marmalade, fresh goat cheese, and crispy bacon. Again it was fabulous! The sweetness of the marmalade and the tangy zing of the goat cheese was the perfect balance and rounding that off with the salty crunch of the bacon was pure heaven. I also have to say that I love the way they grind the beef for their burgers. It's fine enough that the burger patties don't feel chunky when you eat them and don't fall apart when you take a bite! These guys(and girls) have mastered the burger! I also have to mention the fries. The fries are fantastic as well. They are always hot and crispy and are very nicely seasoned. I'm normally not a big fry lover but these I've actually craved! I also love the habanero honey dipping sauce that you can get with them. It's a great mix of sweet and heat and is a very unique take on a fry dip! My husband loves the smoked tomato ketchup so we usually get both! I also can't wait to try the pimento cheese as a fry sauce since it was so great on the burger I imagine it would be great on the fries as well! I was told by a friend that the prices were a little high for burgers but I have to say you get what you pay for and I definitely think these burgers are worth the price!
(5)Jeffery A.
Took my kids here during a family trip. I'm told it is a chain but it doesn't feel like it. The place gradually filled up while we were eating...seems popular. My kids had hamburgers and gobbled them up. Fries were delivered with some unidentified green herb on it, and my picky kids patiently picked it off. It must not have bothered them much because they gobbled it up. I used smoky ketchup and it was really tasty. My sandwich was a special- fried soft shell crab sandwich. I'd never had that before but was feeling like an adventure. It was made with capers and a tasty Tatar sauce. I could taste the crab, but it was a bit like trying to eat a shrimp tail. While I wasn't overwhelmed, it was pretty good with lots of flavor, and worth an experiment. Everyone was super friendly too. I'd definitely recommend it to others.
(4)Matt V.
Great burgers! Went here based on a recommendation and was skeptical because of the location. Glad I went! Get the B&B and you won't be disappointed.
(5)Mary Ann J.
Awesome local burger joint. It was well worth the extra couple of miles off of I-65 to eat here. I also really liked the locally sourced menu.
(5)Shari A.
One of my favorite places to get a burger! You can not go wrong with ordering the Southern and a side a fries with Habernero Honey....yummy. I've dined in multiple times and th restaurant is very clean and the staff (especially John) is always pleasant. If your in a rush, you can place your order online. I've tried other menu items but I always go back to the Southern.
(5)Ken D.
Burgers are good but OMG the wait is horrible. They werenot that busy I had a to go order and it took over 30 min just to get it. Good food but not worth the wait
(2)Jason B.
Wasnt really sure to expect as I'd never sampled the food truck's fare, but heard good things. We were going to the Fair and Expo center so the location (a little near no where) was actually close for us. If you're over in the area especially, its' worth a visit. Overall there were a lot of quirky things that just seem "half done" which prevented me from giving 5 stars. My wife daughter and I went with a couple friends. We arrived 4:45 so we could be "first" since we had an appointment at 6:00pm. We sat down but everything is ordered from the counter, which isn't immediately clear. So a few folks that were in the know came in after and jumped line... How bout a "order here" sign hanging from ceiling? We both settled on "the Grind" burger, with fries, and a portion of housemade ketchup 75cents. For my daughter, I asked if they had a kids menu, and received a vacant look until the waitress said "we have grilled cheese". So we got the grilled cheese. Food came out fairly quick, and was really tasty. They served the burgers on wood cutting boards, but carried our fries out in paper cartons, separately. I'd have preferred all of the food come out at one time, or at least on some sort of serving tray. Having someone hand carry my fries by the carton to the table, bothered me. They dont even do that at McDonalds. Then all of the condiments, unless you ordered the special ketchup, are in packets on a hostess station around the corner. Food was good, my daughter loved her grilled cheese. It was a little pricey and there are better burgers at Muscle & Burger. The weird presentation, service items and condiments in packets just still seem more food truck than a sit down place, but I'll try it again in a few months to see if they grow up into a restaurant, or remain a food truck without wheels.
(4)Meg H.
No frills restaurant with great burgers. Wait staff is very friendly. Burgers are hot and delightful. Love the addition of fries to the menu. Flavors are subtle and refined. Love it!
(4)Kristin C.
Burgers were awesome! Only reason for 4 stars and why this won't become a place we eat very regularly is the price.

It would be easy to drive right past this place. From the outside of this tiny building and single front door, it looks very unsuspecting. I have to say I had my doubts but it was late and my group was starving so we gave it a try. AMAZING! The first bite of my hamburger I knew I struck gold. I think the burger I got was called the B & B, or something like that. Real crunchy beacon, soft moist bun, just a ton of flavors dancing together. Eat here!

Wonderful food and very friendly service. When I came it was packed because of the limited amount of tables but the crowd was worth dealing with for the delicious burgers. I would recommend the b&b, it was the best I have tried so far.

Casual atmosphere, great burger. I got a build your own with cheddar, bacon, smoked ketchup (made in house, SO GOOD), over easy egg, mayo, and the burger itself. The burger was cooked perfectly but not as flavorful as I expected. An egg is always a good addition; like meatballs, adding an egg to a burger helps keep everything moist, I only wish they allowed the egg to be cooked over medium rather than over easy simply because of the mess created by the yolk. It took about 10-12 minutes for the burger to come out, my friend and I were the only customers in the restaurant at 9:30 pm. Overall taste was good, the bun became soggy extremely quickly because of the yolk and became difficult to eat but I scarfed every last bite. For two burgers, one of which was on a gluten free bun, both with several toppings, and a can of coke, it was $27. I only give a four star because I prefer a toasted bun that doesn't get too soggy and a more flavorful patty. I will definitely be going back, however. Their menu is not set in stone which leaves room for improvement and gives customers something to look forward to.

Staff were friendly and professional. Service was great. The cookies were the highlight of the meal, so don't skip them when you're there. The beer list had many good choices. My husband and I each had a veggie burger and we shared a small fry. Fries were yummy. Veggie burgers could have used a little more zing. We asked for some pickles and they really perked up the burgers. Prices are extremely reasonable and the value is excellent. We'll definitely come back.
(4)Vance B.
This one of the best burger joints I've been to. They have an excellent selection of unique burgers with some unusual condiments. I was really impressed with the buns. Not only were they fresh but somehow they didn't get soggy. I've never seen this. The interior is spartan and the location looks a little on the seedy side. Don't let that fool you. It's worth a visit. Just must make sure you lock your car. My only complaint: my wife ordered the habanero jam but got the apricot.
(4)Mandy P.
Fantastic! Kind of a roughly looking neighborhood but definitely a hidden treasure!!!
(5)Tom B.
Took a group of extended family for lunch before heading to the races at Churchill Downs. Everyone loved their burgers and cubans. Juicy and flavor packed burger choices, solid fries, nice variety of beer choices. A definite go-to for a upscale burger joint.
(4)Terese B.
If you're in Louisville, try Grind. It's right near the airport. The burgers are amazingly flavorful and the setting is simple and unpretentious. Yum!!
(5)Beatriz V.
Great service, great taste! Ordered the veggie burger very tasteful ! The fried are delicious, you won't stop eating them once you grab one. Bottle sodas, including fanta and coca cola! Service was very quick and the team is very friendly. Definitely a place to consider the next time we stop by Louisville.
(5)Steven W.
Ate a burger and fries during Derby week and let me tell you, it was awesome!!! The Southern burger was perfectly cooked medium. The fries were fresh and hot. The guys were very engaged was the clientele. This joint is highly recommended.
(5)Donald D.
Stopped in for lunch with three other folks - after seeing it on Yelp. They got burgers, we shared fries, and I actually went with the chopped chicken sandwich. The combination of the chicken, habanero honey mustard and a little heat was fantastic. I believe everything is from local sources and/or natural. All four of us raved about our meals, but note that it is not inexpensive and servings are not large. But for flavor and quality, their lunch is tough to beat. I highly recommend.
(4)Richard B.
All the food was excellent. We had a variety of burgers and big plate of fries with all the dipping sauces.
(5)Michelle F.
Habanero jam! You guys! I love their burgers, especially with brie and habanero jam. Those buns are the bizzness. I have not had the sides, but will definitely try them. I crave these after a night of being out! I frequented the food truck at local fairs, so glad they opened a restaurant. It's clean, affordable and the people that work their are super friendly. One of the owners is usually there, and she's really friendly as well.
(5)Chip A.
In town a few times a year. Love the quality of the food and the people are GREAT!!!
(5)Mozil L.
I have eaten here just one time before but I am back today for seconds. the grilled beef sandwich special was delicious and the kale salad was surprisingly tasty. don't let the simple exterior and interior fool you. this is definitely worth the trip to gritty Preston Avenue.
(4)Jacob J.
Greeted with a smile! And the burger was excellent! So was their special smoked ketchup!
(4)Logan S.
I had the B&B burger with fries and the smoked ketchup. It was amazing and delicious! I can't wait to go back and try different burgers.
(5)Alexandra B.
My boyfriend and I got two burgers and an order of fries for dinner tonight and I was fairly pleased. I ordered a B&B and the flavors of the toppings were excellent, but I was disappointed with the flavor of the meat itself. I found myself going to the kitchen to add salt and pepper to the burger. In addition, we ordered online and had ordered dipping sauce with our fries and they forgot to put it in our take out bag. We should have checked, but just assumed it would be there and it wasn't. The price is, in my opinion, excessive for two small burgers and a small order of fries that we split-- our total was near $25. Again, good flavor combinations, but pricey and lacking in flavor when it came to the beef.
(3)Barry O.
Very good burger BUT kind of priced high at $10 plus fries and drink, you are into lunch for nearly $20 per person. People are friendly and service good. I think for $10 they could throw in fries and it's a good price point.
(3)Lee K.
Awesome hamburgers, its like the hamburgrs melt in your mouth. The service is excellent and definetly pay extra for the upgraded ketchup.
(5)Billy B.
Loved this place! Fantastic burger, good music (not too loud), and no-frills (unpretentious) seating. We're in from NY, but if I lived here, I'd come all the time.
(5)Melissa R.
Stopped by here after work, because I had heard si many great things about this restaurant. Picked up two burgers..Two kale salads.. honestly. .it was just ok....very pricey...not sure I would spend the money to go back.
(3)Lisa P.
Oh are we happy we stopped. Great burgers and equally great fries with garlic aioli. We both had Grind burgers, cooked perfectly and dressed differently. While I had L-T-O, pimento cheese and pork belly, my husband had L-T-O, pepper jack and garlic aioli. He said if we didn't still have a long road trip ahead of us, he could go for another. Satisfied our appetites to the max. We will be back next time thru!
(5)Noel H.
I absolutely love their signature grind burger with habanero jam. The staff is friendly and the service was quick. Can't wait to go back and excited for them to be open for dinner.
(5)Leda R.
Easily the best burger I (and my husband) have ever had. The pimento cheese on the southern is amazing and their habanero jelly on the B&B was just spicy enough for my hot food loving husband. We shared an order of fries and smoked habanero jelly and it was definitely the right dipping sauce. The brussel sprouts are quite possibly the best thing I have ever had.
(5)Matt G.
I had the chain burger to go. The smoked ketchup was really good. The fries were ok, the burger was ok, fresh beef needed some kind of seasoning to complement the meet Kind of pricey for a medium size burger. Don't get me wrong the burger and fries filled me up but for 14 plus $ it should be bigger and tastier !
(3)Rebecca B.
Was extremely satisfied with every aspect of the Grind restaurant. Was greeted by two wonder servers who were very happy to answer all the questions I had as a first time Grind-er. Ordered a take out veggie burger with the house ketchup. DELICIOUS! It's pretty hard to find filling veggie burgers at most places but this one was completely up to par. Only complaint was they were a little light on the side of fries. Great service, great food. 10/10.
(5)Steven W.
The B&B (brie and bacon) was outstanding! I ordered mine medium (I usually order a burger medium well) and I have never had a burger cooked more perfectly. Also, be sure to try the habanero honey with your fries.
(5)K B.
We live right around the corner within walking distance from Grind, and soon will be moving (sadly) away from this place we frequent. My boy and I get takeout at least once a week, its cheap, and DAMN is it delicious! I always get the veggie burger made with chickpeas (YUM!!) with all the fixins and a table size fry. He always gets the B&B burger, unless theres a special, then of course he'll try it, and of course, he'll love it. I absolutely love this place, i believe everyone should eat here at least once in their life. But of course once they do, they'll end up frequenting once a week. The servers and staff are amazing and helpful, the food is some of the best veggie burgers and local beef my guy has ever had, and its cheap. Its not a gross greasy burger joint, it's better than that. The inside doesn't have grease forever connected to the tables and chairs because they have better ingredients than other local burger joints. It's a friendly and delicious place that you just can't turn down. Who can't love grind?? You absolutely must get the smoked ketchup and pimento cheese with your fries, and don't be scared to add an egg or a frilly fixin' to your burger. Go all out with Grind, you won't be dissatisfied at all by any means :)
(5)Rob P.
I passed it up twice, very easy to miss. Once I parked and walked in, I was immediately welcomed, given a menu, told the specials, and was offered some water. I had to get my order to go, but I ordered the B&B with habanero jam (for me) and a pepper jack burger with a fried egg for my counterpart. Both cooked medium. The staff was painfully courteous. Every bit of my interaction from them was legitimately thankful for me being a patron to their restaurant. My burger was hands down the best burger I've ever eaten. I've been to Mussels and Burgers and Grind simply blew them out of the water. Cooked legitimate medium and full of flavor. The habanero jam was the perfect amount of heat and sweet. I overheard that they were moving at the beginning of the year. Hopefully to a larger more visable location. This restaurant will be around for a very long time.

Anyone in Louisville who knows me knows I love Mussel and Burger Bar. Watch out M&BB, Chris has a new favorite burger joint in town! When driving up to Grind Burger Kitchen, one may think twice about giving it a try. Don't let its exterior drive you away, you must give Grind Burger a try! The interior is basic but completely decked out in IKEA...down to the ketchup bottles. I happen to like the clean IKEA look, so this was a great plus for me. This is an "order at the counter" kind of place, and I can't think of a better way for this restaurant. The employees are insanely nice and welcoming, so the Grind Burger experience is great from the moment one walks up to the counter. As other reviewers on Yelp and elsewhere have suggested, I went with the B&B (brie and bacon) burger with habanero jam. I have had brie on plenty of sandwiches, but I think this was a first for a hamburger. What have I been missing??? Brie and bacon on a burger is an incredible combo! I'll continue the suggestions - get the B&B. And don't wimp out and get the apricot jam (granted, I'm sure it's great); go for the habanero! Although the combo of brie, bacon, and habanero jam was excellent, the burger itself could have used more seasoning. I've seen other reviews point out the great seasoning of the burger, so this may have just been a fluke. Also, I generally order a medium burger because it will come out medium well (at least), but the medium is a true medium here (I will go with the medium well next time). The burgers come with a choice of sides: fries, kale caesar, pickled slaw, or brown butter Brussels sprouts....Brussels sprouts PLEASE!! If you're one of the weirdos like I am who loves Brussels sprouts, you can't pass on these. If you really want those fries, you can get an additional side of them, after all. My dining companion has Celiac disease, so he cannot eat gluten. That often proves to be a problem at a burger joint (you must have a bun...you must), but no problem at Grind Burger Kitchen! They have many gluten free options including buns and beers. AWESOME! My beloved Mussel & Burger Bar is not the least bit Celiac friendly (sad), so this was a huge plus for me. He built his own Grind burger (boring), but he loved it with the side of fries (he was giving me repulsed looks watching my love affair with the Brussels sprouts). This quickly became one of his favorite Louisville restaurants...a close second to Yang Kee Noodle, which has a plethora of gluten free options! Best of all...Grind Burger Kitchen is very near my home! This partnered with the incredibly friendly service, the gluten free options, and the delicious food (Brussels sprouts!!!!) will keep me coming back again and again. Well done, Grind Burger Kitchen!

I almost drove by when I pulled up to the entrance of what was the worst exterior I have ever seen for. A restaraunt. But I was hungry and it had good reviews. When I entered I found a clean minimal open dining room. The food was outstanding although a bit pricy (15.90 for burger and fries). But I had a grind burger which was seasoned perfectly and added a wonderful egg. The real surprise wa te smoked habanero honey. It wasn't really spicy but made an amazing dipping sauce for my fries.
(5)Leigh W.
I've never tried the truck, but I was easily swayed to go here by some fellow vegetarians. This is a no-frills place, but the food is incredible and the staff is so friendly. They really helped me through my first Grind experience, where you order at the register. I had the vegetarian burger, the crispy Brussels sprouts, the What the Kale? salad and fries for the table with all the interesting sauces. How could we resist the smoked tomato ketchup, habanero honey and pimiento cheese? By far, my favorite was the habanero honey, which was also a nice addition to the kale salad. They also have Mexican Coke and Fanta, for those of you who like real sugar in your soft drinks. As a lover of all new experiences, I couldn't pass up the Kentucky Kombucha. I had never tried any kombucha. My friendly cashier suggested that I pour it in a glass to see the snotty slim that floats in it. I followed her advice and avoided it throughout my beverage. It was like a ginger beer, but a little less sweet. I don't think I've turned into a kombucha lover, but I would drink it again. Thanks, Grind, for the delicious meal and offering something out of the ordinary.

This place is a win win. Great food and the staff is super friendly. Tried the B&B with habanero jelly and fries. Everything was awesome. Beer selection is good. I came on a Saturday afternoon and the place was about half full.
(5)Meredith R.
You may be taken aback when you pull into the lot. The place is easy to miss, and looks like a dive. But get over it. Walk in. Head to the counter and order your meal. The burgers are as good as everyone claims. The three of us ordered the B&B: burger, brie & bacon, with apricot jam. Frankly, if I didn't know the components, I wouldn't have known what I was eating. But that wouldn't have diminished the taste. We ordered three different sides: fries (very good), kale salad (ditto), pickled slaw (shoot! I should've gotten Brussels sprouts!) If you're a burger aficionado, you'll like it here.
(4)Gary F.
The place is hard to find...I would never have come here if it wasnt for Yelp. I was greeted immediately with a smile and a menu. The place looks small from the outside but is bigger inside and very clean. Very helpful girls at the counter. I had the Southern burger, very good and cooked perfectly. Great service...great food...what else do you want? Unfortunately I'm from California so I wont be able to visit again. BUT YOU SHOULD !!
(5)Chris W.
As others have said very good place. Great quality burgers, fries & the slaw is awesome! Quick service & reasonably priced. Only negative & it isn't really is no fountain drinks. Cans or bottles only.

Like, OMG. This place, like, has really good burgers. K! Like, for real. OMG. The Good: The food. Really enjoyed the burger. Prepared excellently. It is possible to cook a burger incorrectly. This place doesn't. I'm a turbo fan of the way that they grill/cook/fry/WHATEVER the meat. Has an incredible flavor. I could honestly eat the meat by itself, it is that good. The fries. I typically look at fries as a "filler." Nothing special. And I usually don't eat all of the fries. Too many carbs and empty calories. But these were very tasty. Had a good size, a good crisp, and they were seasoned very well. AND, you get a lot of them. I'm shocked that I finished them off. The decor. Basic but nice. Nothing fancy. Just appreciate a restaurant that doesn't try to "do too much." The staff. The lady in the front, anyway, was turbo nice. Really enjoyed speaking to her. Super friendly. Very accommodating. Asked if I had any questions about the menu, what to order, how things are prepared, what she recommends, and so forth. The location. The building isn't the nicest... but it is pretty centrally located. One direction is the airport and Preston and 264, one direction is the fairgrounds and Crittenden Drive, and the other direction is Eastern Parkway and Germantown. The Bad: The price. It is a little heavy for a burger and fries, as it cost $13+. I drank water so that wasn't an issue. For lunch, that's a little steep, I think. The location (again). I used to work at the Sleep Inn up the road. After dark, it gets a little shady. Overall: Great place. The only thing keeping it from getting a 5* is the price. If it were a couple dollars cheaper, it is a 5* review. It genuinely is one of the better burgers that I've ever had. Not just in the city, but ever.
(4)Rick M.
This burger joint on Preston near the fairgrounds is run by some super nice and friendly people. I really felt welcome and they greeted me immediately letting me know to order at the counter and they would bring the food to me. I ordered a B&B burger with fries,$14.85. A little pricey but I was optimistic. I ordered medium rare. I usually order medium rare because invariably these places miss and I end up with medium, which is actually what I want. This burger came out well. A little past well. The burgers here are smash style. A puck placed on a scorching hot flat top and flattened to create a crust. This is hard to cook medium. Mine was way over. The flavor was great but the burger was dry. The counter girl asked how everything was and I told her. Over cooked and a bit dry. She conferred with another guy and they immediately offered to make it right. Literally 4 minutes later I had a new burger. The burger was cooked better but the bun seemed stale and there was almost no Brie. The bacon on the second burger was very smoky. I'm guessing I got an end cut. I would like to try this place again but it's kind of pricey. My burger would have rocked with a fried egg but that's a $2 up charge.

Stopped by Grind for a lunch with coworkers a few weeks ago. We love it because it's close to work, but we are excited for their new location as well because we know that it will open up so many possibilities for them! The food is always so good. I had the B&B with the habanero jam - sweet, spicy, salty. What more could you want? I picked the slaw for my side, which was good but paled in comparison to the flavors of the burger. I'll be there as much as I can until they open up the new location on Market! Can't wait!
(4)Lauren H.
Extremely tasty burgers. I ordered the B&B and really enjoyed it. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the best burger in Louisville. I'd probably put it in my top 5, but there are definitely better burgers for the same price in a nicer environment. Keep in mind, I did enjoy my burger and the experience, but given the high reviews for Grind Burger, I want to explain my drawbacks. My main complaint is the value. To elaborate, my burger with fries was $13 (around the same as, say, Mussel and Burger Bar). However, at Grind Burger, you order at the counter. Nothing wrong with that, but I could pay the same to sit down and have service elsewhere. Also, Grind Burger is in an old, run down building in a strange location. Also, the burgers are much smaller and thinner than a burger you'd get from, say, Mussel and Burger Bar (can you tell I love M&BB?). Given the atmosphere, I was expecting to pay less. If the pricing was slightly less, I'd probably give Grind Burger a five star rating. My second (minimal) complaint is related to the taste of my burger. The B&B contains just about all of my favorite things: brie cheese, bacon, and habanero. Thus, I was extremely excited to try this hunk of meat. I was slightly disappointed because the bacon was very overdone and extremely crispy, which overpowered the overall taste of what would have been a perfect medley of flavors. I'm sure this doesn't happen every time, and I look forward to trying the B&B with bacon that's not overcooked. Overall, very delicious burgers with unique topping combinations. It's excellent for when you want to grab a quick bite and don't feel like waiting at other delicious-but-crowded burger places, but still want high quality food. It's definitely a must-try, and I will be back!
(4)Matthew B.
BurgerBliss Be ready for the dive, and take the plunge. Not any nicer than grabbing a curb by a food truck but the special was just that. Homemade bun held Bentons Bacon Kennys Swiss and black garlic aioli under some watercress. So delish. Will be back when I'm trolling Preston after a game or workday lunch. Content over atmosphere wins here. Not quite hipster minimal, but more didn't try at all. Good will bring me back, just careful with whom.
(4)Kyle B.
Amazing burgers, terrific homemade fries, and wonderful service. Doesn't get much better than this.
(5)Justus G.
Food was a little bit more expensive than what I was expecting. Well worth it! I got the chicken sandwich and it went above and beyond for my tastebuds. My boyfriend got the veggie burger and said it was the best I tried it And liked it also. The French fries were absolutely delish. I love that this place felt more at home cooking. Not just a restaurant burger joint. Definitely recommend stoping in here. I live in Indianapolis and Am traveling to Florida, jumped on yelp to find food and so so glad I found this place.
(5)Andrea K.
They now include a side with your burger! More reason to visit the best burger joint in town!
(5)Adam C.
As a food truck I was a big fan, as a restaurant I am a little disappointed. We decided to come here after passing up Stout because it's a chain and from what I hear it's overpriced. The first thing you will notice is the location. It's about as odd as it gets. Not the ideal location for...well anything especially not a somewhat successful food truck turning out $13 burgers. Basically the spot I would guess use to be an old neighborhood bar, and it still looks that way from outside. Inside they have done a good job, clean and simple, it works. Menu is simple enough with a nice selection of beer(moody tongue was new to me and it hit the spot). We got the southern and B&B with fries and brussels sprouts. Southern was nothing special to me, good basic burger that I would skip next time. I have never had fried brussels sprouts, but crispy texture was something new and a nice change. We felt it was missing a sauce to make them pop, balsamic and honey drizzle would be a nice compliment. After looking at the menu, it says it comes with a honey vinagrette which I think they may have forgotten. It's unfortunate because it could take them from so so to great. The good news is habanero jam saved the meal. B&B is a great burger, but I think most people miss out by skipping the habanero jam. Simply the word Habanero is intimidating, not wanting to ruin the burger most people opt for the apricot jam instead. I almost made the same mistake, but I remembered not having the option at the food truck and loving the habanero jam. While sitting there listening to people order, I would say half shy away and go with apricot. Nonetheless, the burger is a great mix of flavors that really works. Overall the meal was ok, sides were ok, beer was good, and one of he burgers was far better than the other. I have an issue with the pricing, $13 burgers are becoming all to common. I hate to tell these places but they are far from Gordon Ramsey and this is not Vegas.I had one of the best burgers in my life at Burgr in Vegas. That burger was $14 and is hard to even compare to what Louisville is serving up for $13 to $15. Considering some places adjust prices to pay for higher rent due to location, I can't imagine how the prices are justified here.
(3)Brian K.
I loved everything about coming here. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was in great portions and tasted simply divine. The atmosphere was as laid back as it gets, and the waitress was a much appreciated and delightful addition to the whole setup. Planning on returning.
(5)Sara B.
Amazing. Just amazing. Find the time to go. Salivating over the thought of the B&B and kale salad.
(5)Shawn N.
Small place located in a construction zone. Not much parking. Burgers were excellent! They don't have an extensive menu but for what they have they are masters at! The B+B burgers is amazing....grass fed beef, bacon, Brie with an apricot jam....I know what you're thinking but it is amazing! Fries were decent, wish I'd done the kale salad instead.
