When You spend $180 on a meal, you should walk away saying, That was freaking awesome. Sadly, that was far from reality. Between two adults,we only had two courses and two drinks a piece. Yikes! My wallet still hurts. Moving on,the ambiance was a slight saving grace on the expansive southern porch. The hostess was chilly with a slight chip on the shoulder, but our waitress was delightful. We will not be returning anytime soon. :(

Amazing service!!!!! Best I've had I years actually...food was delicious ! We tried the chefs tasting menu and were very pleased. Great place to celebrate a special occasion though a little pricey .

Perfect atmosphere to feel like it should be a special occasion! Fortunately for me it was a special occasion. When we made our reservations the host asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. We opted to not go the announcement route and just told them we would be dining with them for the first time. When we arrived to our reservation table there sat a place card with our name beautifully written. The reason I gave this place five stars beside four is the attention to detail that was given our table. Our service was mostly handled by our server, but if there sat an empty plate, low glass of water, or our efforts to catch someones attention, there was someone there waiting. The food and chef are amazing. We received a small amuse bouche spring roll. I enjoyed the sauce that came with this bite size sample, but was not overwhelmed by the spring roll itself. Next we ordered the pate and lobster casserole. I decided to mix and match between the crackers and different artisan breads we received. I absolutely loved the lobster casserole! For dinner, we had the menu lamb and fillet Mignon dish of the night. Both were cooked to perfect temperature and the side dishes were well prepared. For dessert we tried the Strawberry Sorbet with black pepper. The taste of the sorbet was not very different, but the black pepper grounds did help cut the sweetness. With our check we received another small dessert sampler plate. I thought this was a very nice touch. There is a 5 course meal that the chef makes special every day. This ranges around $65 dollars a person. I believe each course comes with a paring of wine. At Corbett, let your host or server choose your wine. They have been instructed on the best compliments and you will not be sorry. Although I was mostly intoxicated by being with my loving boyfriend, it did help to have an amazing vanilla bean cocktail and a glass of great red wine.

Every dinning experience I have ever had here has been a 5 star experience. From the way the wait staff is expertly trained, to the wonderful food that is served, everything about this place is just wonderful and it is a true foodies paradise. I have had over 50 meals here over the years and I have yet to have had a bad dinning experience. As for the reviewer that feels it necessary to attack Dean, that was just unnecessary. Way to be classy guy, say you take the higher ground but encourage people to dig into someones personal life, for shame. You lack the class this place exudes.

Would love to give this place a 5 star review, but I just can't. Please, server girl, don't argue with me when you asked me how my meal was after clearing a plate that was barely eaten. When you order a meat and are asked how you would like it cooked, it should come moderately close to what you request (medium well in hopes of getting medium should not come rare to raw in the center) and you shouldn't tell me that is the way medium well is supposed to look as you made yourself look really silly in front of the table and everyone around our table (well, if there were people around since we were relegated to the basement, aka the Wine Cellar, while the upstairs was empty! I would have sent it back for a little more cooking, but since no one ever came back to ask how things were until our plates were cleared, I couldn't!!! Really disappointing after wanting to return to this place for some time.

Simply said - everything was great. The first thing I noticed on the menu that stood out was the sea bass, so that's what I ordered. It was excellent! We had a group of ten and everything was handled well. Make sure you have time from start to finish was just shy of three hours. Wine pours were the best I have seen and the house wines are premiums elsewhere. Highly recommend Corbetts!

We went to Corbett's today for lunch before shopping at some of the area stores close by. What a shock to find out they are no longer open for lunch. Too bad. Guess we won't be eating at Corbett's ever again. Thank goodness there are a number of other very good restaurants in the area to choose from.

In its echelon of restaurants in Louisville, Corbett's distinguishes itself with its unique, intimate venue. I visited recently the first time for an event. Held in the basement, the cozy space featured flagstone floors and stone outer walls, and low wooden beams over the ceilings. The first course consisted of cheese trays and some delicious appetizers, including nachos. Next up for me was the Bibb lettuce salad. It was quite good, with fresh ingredients and flavors that blended together well. I branched out to try something different with my main course and got the Creekstone Filet. I was interested particularly in the "roasted bone marrow" and "blue cheese pommes dauphine" and "brown butter-bacon jus" that accompanied (note to whomever wrote the menu, the accompanying asparagus, listed as only "asparagus" needs a little luster compared to the other items listed on this menu selection!) The meal finished with carrot cake whoopie pie. As I anticipated, the Brown Sugar Pecan Ice Cream was the best part of that dish, with a sweet, sugary goodness that literally melted in your mouth. The service was excellent that night, with the staff being attentive, but not overly so. Overall, it was a very nice experience, and -- best of all -- someone else treated me, so I enjoyed it all the more!

If you really want to feel special, and have a wonderful dining experience this is the place to go. If you have made reservations, an elegant seating card with your name will appear at your table. The servers are wonderful, the chef will send special treats to your table, each course will be expertly prepared and you will be treated like royalty. This is my favorite special occasion place to go. I have been here many times, and I have never been disappointed. If there was ever a time that something wasn't done to my liking, I am certain that it would be corrected with out any questions. Love It!

Sorry for the 1 star. My wife and I waited at a table for over 15 minutes with no service. We simply walked out. I sent their business a notification (I always give the business a note before I post anything negative). It's been 3 weeks without a response. This is not acceptable for a restaurant like this.

Wonderful dining experience. Before coming to Corbett's, the only restaurants I've been to similar to Corbett in style and price have been franchises or steakhouses except for once. Compared to the one time I went to a similar restaurant called Tujague's Restaurant (New Orleans second oldest restaurant), Corbetts was worlds better. I had the 5 course tasting menu at both restaurants. Unlike Tujagues, Corbett's environment was excellent, the waiter was perfect, the food was presented beautifully, and the food was actually amazing. I came to Corbett's with a friend who works there. As a true testament to the love the chefs have for their food and the awesome environment they provide their workers, the chef prepared two extra plates free of charge for us. This behavior really crystallized how empathetic my friend's bosses are and how passionate the chefs are about their food. My friend went on to tell me about how much he loves working there because he is surrounded by people who are passionate about their job. Why do I mention this? Because, even if I hadn't come here with my friend and didn't receive the special treatment I received, I could have easily came to the same conclusions. The entire dining experience lasted a little over 2 hours and I wish it was longer! It passed by so quickly, a testimony to the wonderful nature of the dining experience. All in all, compared to restaurants that are similarly situated, the dining experience at Corbett's was one of a kind. Recommendation: When they come around with the bread, make sure to get the cranberry whole wheat sweet bread. The other two aren't as good. The Fillet is amazing! Get it if you can. The buffalo blue cheese sweetbread was amazing, wow! The diver scallop was awesome and huge. Having just returned from a vacation to Maine, I was amazed at how good this scallop was compared to what I had at Maine. Not recommended: The latte/cappuccino I had was not as good as I expected (I expected something on the same level as quills or Sunergos). Would not recommend.

Another fabulous experience at Corbett's, due not only to the food, but also to the spectacular service we received. We had out-of-town guests who arrived later in the evening, and I was able to make 10 PM reservations on OpenTable. Despite the fact that they were clearly finished with other guests, the staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to provide a dining experience that never felt rushed. After a round of cocktails and wine, we decided to get a variety of small plates and a couple of entrées to split among the 4 of us. The grilled peach appetizer and the Bibb salad that GF and I split were excellent, but the sea bass entrée was the star of the night. Our guests had the grilled peach and a caprese salad to start, then split the pork loin. The kitchen cranked out some excellent dishes, despite it being the end of their work day, and I can't say enough good things about the staff. Bonus points for demonstrating true southern hospitality!

I had to send my sea bass back twice. Chewy and underdone. Very disappointing. Really wanted to like this place. No bread either but other tables got it. Marginal service. Creme Brûlée was very good.

I would have given this five stars, but one thing I could not get over: You are eating in a big freaking house, and (at least in our sitting area) you can hear pretty much any conversation going on nearby. They need to add some sort of music that is piped throughout the entire dining area. Perhaps a mic'd up piano player or something. Then - 5 stars. We had the steak / gnocchi appetizers - both were great. Lamb / steak for dinner - I had the lamb and it was wonderful. Desserts - fritters / bread pudding - two of the best desserts I have ever tried. If I had to change anything - it would be the portion size / cost of the entrees - a bit too much $$$ for what you get (when compared to a place like Jack Fry's at least). Wines by the glass had some of the best selection of any restaurant in Louisville (not the breadth, more the quality of the wine that is offered). Would recommend this place for a fancy night out. Be prepared to spend about $100 / head for three courses and wine.

We have dined inside, on the porch and in the downstairs wine cellar. The wine cellar was my favorite! I love the ambience of the entire restaurant and the service has always been good. I am not crazy about any of the food here. It is over priced for what it is. I wouldn't come back for the food but would come back for a glass of wine. They have an excellent wine list!

I had a work-related dinner this past Friday night at Corbett's. It was my first time dining at the restaurant. While we had a pre-selected 4 course meal, it was a nice variety and enough to offer a review. The duck confit app was very good as was the salad. We had a split entree' (served as separate courses but it could have been served as two individual entree's - it was a good portion of food); the encrusted grouper and the filet were tasty. The dessert offering was rich and by the time it was served, I was pretty full from the previous dishes. Overall, it was a very good experience and though we were in a private space, we were still able to see into the restaurant, and had the benefit of having 2 TV's in the room with live video feed of what was happening in the kitchen. While I've not been back to Ward 426 since my not so pleasant experience, I'm hopeful that it will soon live up to the same standard as Corbett's. P.S. The service was great too.

My dad and I ate dinner here during his last visit and we were both very pleased and happy! We both decided on the five course tasting menu because there are so many options on the menu that are interesting I couldn't decide! The portions were perfect, the seasonings were perfect and the service was attentive and nice. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because I am feeling ultra picky today- and want to go back and try more things!

2 words: Spectacularly American White table cloth dining elegance in a beautiful southern mansion. This could quite possibly be the most quaint yet lavish experience you could treat yourself with in Louisville. Forget Ruth's Chris, head straight for Corbett's. When you think traditional American flavors - full of simple, less layered flavors but rich in creaminess and butter, then add on "soul" southern cooking, a la good portioned proteins, grits, and sweet potatoes, wrap it all up on beautiful plating... you end up with the wonderful cooking of Corbett. The flavors are genuinely American so be prepared to expect savory sweet southern home-style and less in-your-face bold spices with punches that knock your socks off. Although I am more partial to ethnic foods and flavors, I did find my voyage to the Americas rewarding in its showcase of the something warm and comforting as if you were having a meal made by Julia Child. Our party tried many dishes including: Shrimp & Grits, House Cured Salmon, Caprese, Pork Loin, Crab Cake, and Scallops. All-in-all everything was very delicious in taste and showed that Louisville isn't all that disadvantageous in seafood in the midwest -- I bet being the hub of UPS certainly helps. A few slight hesitations: the scallops were not as well seared as I like and the pork had a bit too much fat on top. Unfortunately this place isn't without its negatives. Some included a terribly slow and inattentive waiter that felt biased towards us due to our younger appearance (even though we were dressed in business casual attire). Although this really brought down my overall excitement for the place, the restaurant's ambience and food quality far made up for the waiter's incompetence. I hope your table service far exceeds mine. In addition, the overall flavor pallet leans on the sweeter side - so if this isn't to your liking, you may not necessarily like these southern cooking.

This is our third visit to this restaurant. We arrived just in time for our reservation and the staff let us go to the bar for a cocktail before dinner and held our table for 1/2 an hour. Really nice of them. The bar tender was extremely knowledgeabe about local bourbons and let my friend taste a few before choosing one. Our waiter was very friendly and just attentive enough to make sure we felt looked after. The mussels, foie gras, and sweetbreads were fantastic appetizers. The lamb porterhouse was a good size and cooked perfectly. After two bottles of wine we were way to full for dessert but they looked great. A very enjoyable and successful evening.

When I drove to Corbett's - I was quiet amused by the location of this restaurant as it is next to a costco. However once I walked in, I had this cozy feeling and I started to look forward for our food. I was a part of a big group and the waitress did a great job attending to us. Service was fantastic! I had Mixed green salad and Sea Bass as my main course. Mixed green salad was fancy but not so memorable. On the other hand, the sea bass was amazing. It is definitely one of the best that I have had and I still remember the flavor in my mouth (Although it has been 2 weeks). Their sizes are reasonable so you will feel full afterwards. Last but not least, we got some complimentary macaroons from the kitchen with chocolate on the side. Macaroons were good not great but I really can't judge it as it was free :) I cannot emphasize on the service enough, we had a small boy with us and the waitress did a great job getting him food and other things to keep him happy! A great place for a special dinner or for date night.

The surroundings were nice and comfortable which made for a pleasant experience. However, the food was very disappointing. We were there on a Monday night and I am guessing it was the chef's night off. The pork belly starter had very unusual flavor profiles as did the diver scallop entrée - unusual and not in a good way. The grateful greens salad sounded so wonderful and was completely lackluster with no discernible flavor at all. I had the gnocchi for a starter and it was the best dish of the evening. There were three of us for my birthday celebration and overall, it was a waste of time and certainly money.

My review really concerns two things: the food (which was very good) and the service (which was dismal). My dear sister took me to Corbett's as a treat for lunch this afternoon. She took me on a tour of the restaurant, which is lovely. Everything took forever today: getting water and menus, having beverages delivered, getting our food, and getting our check at the end of the meal. We each ordered a sandwich. I ordered a burger, which was delicious, and my sister ordered a Kentucky Hot Brown, which was also very good. I should note that there was a wake happening in the restaurant's wine cellar, and all of the servers were helping with that. Still, that does not excuse poor service! It is the restaurant's obligation to either close for the special event or staff adequately. I was disappointed today, but will probably give the restaurant another chance.

We only get to enjoy fine dinning very rarely due to having small children. So we really looked forward to going to corbetts for the first time for my birthday. You can imagine my disappointment when the service was sub par and the food was just ok..... The server was nice enough but he was not very confident with his suggestions, which is something I prefer a server to be able to do. The portions were way too small for the price, and it was a very stuffy uptight atmosphere. We will not be going back ever. If your looking for excellent fine dinning, Volare never disappoints

I happened to come on a night when they had one of their wine tasting dinners. 4 courses, and 5 wines for $75 was an incredible value. And oh wow, one of the best meals I've had in a while. I have to at, as well, that all the wines were really smooth. Plus a local store offersx15% off of wines featured in the dinner. Of course I stayed for an after dinner brandy. I got to meet some wonderful people and had a lovely dinner, I'll definitely be back!

I was just at Corbett's last week to celebrate my cousin getting married. It was my second visit. I've never experienced a restaurant like Corbetts. It is unique in experience and flavor in a good way. I appreciate the emphasis on food sourcing and the many local and organic options. The ethically farmed produce and meats really do taste richer and fresher. The quality wines and liquors and the variety in the drink menu makes for a fun selection process. I've been blown away by the servers' knowledge of the pages of drink offerings and familiarity with every ingredient and flavor on the food menu. The historic home it is set in has a feeling of class and comfort. The service is top notch and five-star, without being stuffy. I felt like I could have an upscale experience without having to behave like I'd just arrived in a carriage with a British prince. The prices are higher than restaurants I frequent, but fitting for what's provided. I've had some good meals in my life, but I'd say my best overall meal of all time came from Corbetts. My husband and I went there for our 7 year anniversary and got the sampler experience. It came with multiple starters, salads, entrees and desserts. There was even a palate cleanser. We ordered the wine sampler as well, and there was a selected pairing with every course. It made the flavors that much more intense. I've been to the restaurant twice and I've either had an extensive sampler or been with a large group and tasted everything. I can't review every dish, but will list the ones that were absolutely worth trying. Some of the amazing culinary creations I've tasted at Corbett's (I seriously enjoyed them all): lamb with grits, grilled peaches wrapped in prosciutto and topped with Brie, fried green tomatoes, butter blanched beets, beans. Salads with homemade dressings. Corn bisque with crab fritter. Lightly crusted sea bass. Brown butter scallops. Bacon appetizer. Braised duck. Flash fried brussel sprouts. My absolute favorite: ravioli filled with south African sweet potato and covered in gouda. Desserts: goat cheese sorbet. Chocolate Bourbon sorbet. Mousse. House made cake balls especially the carrot cake one.

Corbett's is a beautiful restaurant. I believe it was an old farm house converted into a restaurant. The restaurant is well decorated and immaculate. There is also outside dining on the porch. The staff is professional and efficient. Corbett's is one of our favorite restaurants for lunch. We had black tiger shrimp with bucatini pasta in vodka tomato sauce. The shrimp and pasta were delicious. I would make a couple of changes though. Firstly I would use linguine or spaghetti for the pasta as bucatini is thick, long and hollow, rather difficult to eat. There were also red peppers in the sauce, that were slimy and not very attactive to the eye. I would leave out the peppers from the sauce or add them later in the cooking process, so they wouldn't be slimy. The hamburger was great probably 1/2 pound with ceddar cheese and bacon. The burger was dressed with lettuce, tomato and pickles. The pickles were not dill or sweet, but like a bread and butter pickle, interesting choice. The french fries were some of the best in town, perhaps double fried, crispy, but not oily. If you are looking for a beautiful restaurant with a great staff and menu, give Corbett's a try,

This is my favorite upscale restaurant in Louisville and I try to come here at least once on every visit. On the first visit, my significant other was running late so we missed our reservation yet the hostess promptly seated us when we arrived. We were so late that we closed the place down and not only did they not rush us but they took us on a tour of their extensive and gorgeous wine cellar. On the second visit, I went with the five course tasting menu again. The service was just as great as the first time and the food was delectable. I didn't do the wine pairing but they do offer it along with an extensive list of wines - to include my favorite Argentinean Malbecs. The bread service has three types of bread but my favorite is the cranberry wheat. Yesterday, my first course was seared scallops with a jalapeño sauce and carrot reduction. Second course was a salad with brie cheese and a cilantro dressing. Third course was seared halibut and potatoes. Fourth course was beef, rice, and asparagus. Fifth course was angel cake with fruits. By the fourth course, I was getting stuffed but not enough that I couldn't finish dessert. Price was roughly 80 something for just me without any alcohol. Corbett's is a place I would recommend to celebrate a special event or in my case - if you just want to pamper yourself with a damn good meal.

Lovely setting, excellent service. My Parmesan Crusted Sea Bass (Lemon-Caper Beurre Blanc, Zucchini, Squash, Whipped Potatoes, Fried Leeks) was incredible. I would go back just for a chance to sit on the patio.

We had a perfect meal and a perfect evening. Three of us had the 5 course dinner which changes regularly. On that night, our menu included a rock shrimp amuse bouche, a perfect scallop, perfectly prepared sole, a melt-in-your-mouth filet all joined by wonderful accompaniments. My Manhattan with peach bitters was just right. A server came by frequently with a variety of fresh breads. Dessert was a beautiful raspberry pave with champagne chantilly cream and raspberry sauce. The meal concluded with a surprise of dark chocolate truffles and almond biscotti. The food could not have been presented more beautifully, the service was excellent, and the restaurant itself is lovely. I appreciate that they do not feel the need to blast loud music, allowing guests to actually have a conversation. I can not wait to return for the winter 5 course dinner.

Last week, we drove to Louisville for our much-anticipated Big Chill weekend with my beloved Mich State friends. We all converged upon my friend Anne's lovely home and on Saturday she treated the four of us to a dining experience that will not soon be forgotten. Allow me to copy Corbett's description from their website: "Corbett's features an inventive menu and cutting-edge technology. Built in the historic Von Allmen mansion, which once housed Kentucky's first working dairy farm, Corbett's boasts a stunning interior design, a menu with the highest quality ingredients, extensive wine list, impressive artisanal cheese selection and an interactive digital chef's table. Featuring American cuisine, the menu showcases the abundance of local purveyors as well as the best ingredients from around the world." To summarize, the mansion is beautiful. Here we were - in the middle of what seemed a shopping mall area and suddenly we drive up to this old farmhouse, recently restored and updated. I felt like we had walked into a movie set! The lighting is soft, the greetings were warm, the atmosphere was welcoming. Anne had booked a small room for the 5 of us which could be closed off by 2 sets of doors. And on the wall was a very large flat screen TV which showed the kitchen and all the chefs and assistants preparing the meals! Tres cool! Completely interactive, we could talk to them if we both turned on the sound and vice versa. More on this later... We ordered martinis and wine and Anne's favorite server, Cesar, greeted us and proceeded to bring us some complimentary hors d'oeuvres including: a tiny one bite ham and cheese salad with some infused oils; Lump Crab Cakes, Egg, Mustard, Cornichons, Lemon & Truffle Oil; and a Root Vegetable Napoleon, Mâche, Danish Blue, Minus 8 Vinegar & Walnuts Tasty! Corbetts currently has an autumnal menu and we proceeded to order: the soup du jour - which on this particular day was a leek and potato soup. For entrees, we tried: - Salmon, Parsnips, Potato, Zuchini & Squash Gratin, Lobster Bisque - Turkey Breast Mignon, Rillettes, Wild Rice & Parsnip Pudding, Paris Kentucky Green Beans, Sauce Supreme Both of these were fabulous. However, 3 out of the 5 of us ordered the Grouper, and that was all she wrote - Grouper, Hazelnut Crust, Pumpkin Risotto, Fall Vegetables,Bourbon-Vanilla Gastrique. Once I saw the words "Pumpkin Risotto," I was smitten. It had a surprisingly sweet taste - due to the addition of apple cider. Phenomenal! Next - dessert. While the others ordered: - the Plum Tart - Plum Tart, Fig & Frangipane, Honey, Earl Grey Ice Cream; - Flourless Chocolate Torte with Pistachio Ice Cream, Blackberries; - assorted homemade Ice Creams: Chocolate Woodford Pumpkin Spiced Amarena Cherry & Yogurt I ordered what I felt would be the highlight of my meal - and it was! - Pumpkin pot d'creme........OMG........creamy and silky smooth, my taste buds were in hog heaven.......not too pumpkiny - just right. Chef Corbett himself visited our table. Soon, we noticed the chefs had turned on their camera so they could see US and as their night slowed down a bit, they entertained us from the kitchen. One chef who is also musically inclined proceeded to turn his iPod on and serenade us with "Don't Stop Believin' " by Journey. We sang along and laughed uproariously. A number of the chefs and assistants came out to talk to our table and we thanked them so much for this memorable gastronomique experience and Anne bought them a well-deserved round of drinks. Tres bon! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough if you happen to find yourselves in Louisville. Simply marvelous!

I've been to Corbett's twice now for medical conferences and the food and service there is simply FANTASTIC. Of course, I've no idea how much it costs, but I am sure that whatever the price, it is worth every penny. Each time I've gone, I've had a five course meal, which is quite a lot of food when it all adds up, though each plate is only a-couple-of-bites sized. The staff is great; you could not ask for more polite and attentive waiters/waitresses. I also love the business casual atmosphere of Corbett's. It looks like a quaint little house from the outside and is just as charming on the inside. Outdoor seating looks lovely (weather permitting) though I've never gotten to enjoy the outdoor facilities due to the meetings. Now for food... I usually dislike seafood (I never eat crustaceans and snub my nose at most fish), but I have eaten every last bite of everything that has been served to me at this restaurant. During the five-course meal, the first dish is usually some sort of seafood appetizer. Once it was some sort of shrimp, and another time crab cakes, and like I said, I am stringent about never touching these things elsewhere, but I loved them at Corbett's. That's how good and non-fishy it was. Second course is the salad, and they also serve a variety of bread. My favorite is the cheesy bread (forgot the fancy name). Third course is a seafood entree, usually some sort of fish. Again, delicious. Fourth course is the steak. Here, I am going to make an incredulous claim, but I will say it nonetheless: Corbett's has the best steak!!! I've never been asked how I would like my steak cooked, but no matter, it is always a perfect medium, perfectly juicy, perfectly flavorful, and ...simply amazing. Now, I am the sort of person that will shamelessly ask for A1 to go with my steak if it is at all dry or lacking in flavor, much to the horror of my dining partners, but I've never felt the need to "enhance" at Corbett's. No, everything at Corbett's is perfect as served and I have no complaints, only praise and adoration. Finally, I must make an extra special mention about the dessert, because that's my number 1 rated dish at this restaurant. Whatever it is they are serving for dessert, it will blow you away; I have been blown away every time, and this is AFTER the amazing entrees and appetizers. After you are so full that you're about to bust at the seams, the dessert still trumps all, and that, my friends, is a sure sign of a winner.

Fine dining in L.A. - Louisville Area. Everything was excellent. We all did the 5 course tasting menu. Scallop on parmesan grits was one of the best scallops I have ever had (I lived for years in the SF Bay Area, etc.). Tenderloin was fork cutable. Need I say more? Everything was delicately flavored and great. Degustation in the 'ville. Beautiful restoration of the mansion. Reminds me of Plantation in Kaui, HI. Service was very friendly and attentive. We had reservations in the tent, but they kindly moved us indoors at our request due to wind.

While in Louisville for a golf trip, we visited Corbett's for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The building itself is a beautiful structure, a reworked 150+ year old home. We were seated on the beautiful patio for a very pleasant outdoor dining experience. What I like the best is their take on normal "American" food, adding some subtle and not so subtle twists. I had the Prime Filet, which was very tender..easily cut with a butter knife. All in all, I highly recommend Corbett's if you are anywhere near Louisville.

In an unlikely area near a hospital and a Costco is this lovely plantation historical home. A rolling lawn and deep porch awaits you as you ease into the soft white light of the dining rooms. Deep red flowers adorned the tables and passways to make a very romantic environment. I generally enjoyed the amuse buche of scallop ceviche, the beautiful bread selection warmly passed, the tender and nicely seasoned tournedeaus of beef with sweetbreads, and a green salad with fresh organic vegetables, and then finished with a peach and ginger ice cream. The points that lead me astray from a higher star dining experience was the service. Our gentleman waiter was quite assertive that although he could tell our table of 6 about the prix fixe menu he could not serve us unless we ALL ordered the meal. He was quite emphatic and unpleasant about diverting the 4 of us out of the 6 who would have enjoyed it. His descriptions of the menu made it sound like he was delivering us a bad diagnosis of a disease rather than enticing us to order. With a group of all ladies, it was his chance to charm, not deflate our evening. The sweetbreads were cold atop the beef, and the ginger peach ice cream tasted of neither flavor, just bland ol' vanilla. Too bad, the atmosphere is magnificent.

Place is very nice and hey! If you have a hankering you can always go to Costco in the backyard when your done :-) No, Really! The Costco is in the backyard. Had a client bring me here for dinner. Did the chef's tasting menu. The fun thing was actually watching your meal cooked live on TV. Camera's in the spotless kitchen. With the tasting menu you have every item of menu selection, well 5 items consisting of fish, beef, and poultry. Also had a wine selection with each dish. So by the end of drinking a closing Port, I was both full and a little drunk. Place has a lot of class, very quiet, and professional. This is not for people in a hurry, your meal and the quality will take time. A lot of time. This is an establishment for you and a client to discuss business in private, it is a location to take your spouse for a special occasion, and not in my opinion to take your children. The pictures are spot on, so view at your leisure.

Enjoyable meal (albeit small portions for the prix fixe. The crab cake is tiny.) and I still felt full after 5 hours. They food was full of flavor and presented nicely. I'd go back. Please note that the linguini is not made in-house for lunch but is for dinner. I had a daily special of rock shrimp in linguini and really enjoyed all of the flavor and textures. Nicely done!

This was the best meal I've ever had. We got the sampler dinner- a 5 course meal for $65. We had a private room with a TV of the kitchen so we could see the chef and staff at work. Our waitress was great, drinks were amazing, and every dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I would recommend Corbett's to anyone.

Love the Lunch Prix Fixe menu! Yes, this is a high-end, fine dining restaurant. I expect snooty customers, and top-notch service. Definitely wouldn't eat here wearing less than business casual (Unless you are one of those rich people that says, "I can afford it, so screw you"). I have as of yet to taste something I don't like. The homemade ice cream, is by far my favorite. The ambiance of the restaurant is one of my favorite in Louisville. I feel as if I'm eating in someone's home (I am!). There is a dining room to fit my mood: outside casual, inside casual, inside formal, inside business meeting, or interesting, fun wineskeller. My husband is a foodie; I've eaten at some of the finest dining in NYC, Chicago, and Philadelphia (even eaten food by the finest, most popular chefs on food network). Corbett's is right up there (without the price tag AND it is close to home). As for the reviewer that read Corbett's the riot act. If that is the attitude he went into Corbett's with...yeah, I would have told him that the restaurant was full too. I wouldn't subject my customers to his "high and mighty" attitude either.

Had an absolutely fantastic dinner this weekend! The restaurant is so beautiful, and the service was fast, knowledgeable and friendly. One of us had the Parmesan encrusted sea bass and it was probably the best fish we have ever had. The other had the pork chop with risotto and sweet potato swirl, it was fantastic. The chocolate creme brulee dessert was also outstanding. It is so hard these days to find a truly outstanding restaurant, but this is one of them. I would consider this restaurant to be the best in Louisville. We live in Los Angeles, but are Louisville natives, and it is so great to visit our home town to find a restaurant which excels in every way, like some of the finest in other big cities.

We went here for the first time on New Year's Eve. Normally, I'm incredibly reluctant to get forced into pre-set menus for special events. So...I made a joke about asking for the lunch menu. The blue-hairs at the table next to me glared in my direction. Honestly, I was impressed with the service and food quality, though I would have preferred to choose my own meal. The girls loved the wine pairing, and I was more than happy with the staff's bourbon selection. I will go back here, but I may have to save my pennies to afford the lunch menu. My advice? Get your in-laws to pay for it when they come to town!

This place is a study in contrasts. Make that a masters thesis in contrasts. Its a wonderful setting. You have a plantation house on a hilltop surrounded by lush trees...right next door to a Costco parking lot? The service was quick and attentive but they failed to replace our knives and forks during one course. They asked if we had any food allergies but didn't ask how we would like our steaks prepared? The food was mostly great but there were a few mishits (bones in the fish). We did the tasting menu and I have the feeling that if I ate here a lot, I would find a lot of things on the a la carte menu that I would love. The atmosphere was fine but I was seated right on top of an air conditioner vent so by the time I was done, my left elbow was frozen. So, as you can see, there were some hits and some misses but something tells me if I ate here more often, I would love it! Smiley face.

Ruuuude, elitist or just uncaring. I decided to go for an early lunch. They open at 11, I was in their lot at about quarter till. Tried calling but didn't answer, no biggie. 11:00 am doors are still locked. I called twice more and finally got someone to pick up at about 11:10. I asked about a lunch for two. I was then asked if I had a reservation. I said no and was rudely told that they were too book during their entire lunch and had no openings but I could call back if I wish to see if they had a cancellation but was told that was very uncommon. From 10:45 - about 11:15 no one showed up to this place. I was parked there sitting. When I informed her of this she said of I thought she was lying maybe I couldn't afford this fine restaurant anyway, she then said, "Good day!" and hung up. I was so livid I forgot to get to get her name and was afraid of what I would say or what would happen if I went inside after that. I soooo want to mention personal aspects of this place and the owner's issues but I will be the better person. If you would like to know more though feel free to google this name and you'll find plenty about the owner from the past month or so. I've wanted for some time to visit this establishment. That will never happen. I am not rich but I do live about 5 minutes away from this location and if id like to eat there I can but now choose not to. Such a shame!

Sat downstairs and like the more casual atmosphere especially given the more formal upstairs. Food was very good. Service was also very good. Location in far East end of Louisville. Restaurant is in awesome old farm house. Outdoor seating would have been great if weather was better. I've heard the bar is great but we did not go into the bar. We ran into friends who say they come to the bar and eat often.

I am so glad that so many others have had a wonderful experience here. My hubby made reservations for our 20th Anniversary and was very excited. I am a foodie and love to experience new flavors and have wonderful dining experiences. However, our fell pretty flat. :( We arrived and were seated at "our" table - a lovely little name plate let us know that we were to be in for a special evening. The only problem is that we were seated in the bay window - beautiful and romantic but not really. The seating had us facing out to the dining room instead of facing eachother. It was just like being at the reception table at our wedding - on display. We ordered a drink and Hubby was able to turn and face me so we could talk and get googlie eyed at eachother (yes, we STILL do that ;) but I was in a dress and heels so it was difficult for me to turn. Hubs could see that I was quickly growing uncomfortable with the table situation and asked if I would like to move. I told him I would and the next time the waiter came by we asked to move. We chose a small 2-top against the wall hoping for more intimacy. The waiter seemed fine with it but as the night went on I am not so sure he was. We chose to order a la carte and had the mussels appetizer which was tasty. The problem was when the waiter came to take our appetizer plates he was totally sloppy and grabbed at them totally spilling Hubs mussel juice on the table, him, and the floor and the waiter didn't even notice! Yikes! Hubs saw it happening and leaned out of the way but he still got a little on his pants. We informed the waiter what happened when he got back and he said he was sorry but didn't really seem to care. Whatever, we weren't going to dwell as we were there for a celebration. Hubs ordered the swordfish and I the Sea Bass. I liked mine but Hubs said there was too much going on with his dish. I didn't like his at all as it seemed not only was the fish overcooked but the flavor was off. At least I was pleased with mine. (PS - Hubs never sends a plate back. No matter what. His motto is that if it came out of the kitchen then that's how it is meant to be served.) The other thing: Our waiter kept moving things around on our table, reaching over our plates and moving drink glasses which I thought was weird and uncomfortable. This is where I get the idea that he didn't like the table we chose. We, however, loved being able to look at eachother and talk. When hubby gave me my anniversary gift, the waiter interrupted by chosing that time to finally refill our water glasses that had been sitting empty. I was like WTH dude??! Also, do they not have a bus boy at Corbett's? Becuase our waiter did everything. We did notice however that the parties sitting on the porch received lots of attention from the waitstaff so when we left we decided that if we ever go back we will sit on the porch. We ordered the Pot de Creme for dessert. According to the menu, it was suppose to come with a foam on top. Ours was rock hard. What? Was it yesterdays that sat in a cooler or something?? Not good. My hubby didn't like it and said it was like ordering pudding with a hard film. Oh well. Sad that we had a very expensive and just OK meal. I would have loved to be absolutely wowed as others were. And sad that our waiter was a bit off. So I guess my tip for you is: sit on the porch where the wait staff seems to work together and you can face eachother in order to enjoy your experience as it is obvious that this is the type of restaurant that should be an "experience". Bummed I didn't get mine especially for such a special night.

****/* Great restored old house with lot's of charm. Amazing service, great ambience, very romantic dining. We all (4) ordered the 5 course featured dinner of the evening. Excellent presentation, preparation and portion sizes. Exploding flavors, nice midwest comfort food fusion. WOW!! Worthwhile dining experience if you are Louisville or visiting.

Perfect place for cocktails and apps. Especially on the porch/patio in the summer or the wineskeller in the winter. Go to for our girls nights.

Speaking as a foodie from California visiting Louisville last year for the Breeder's Cup races--The BEST filet mignon I ever tasted! I was taken there for lunch and came back that night for dinner. I had the filet alone at lunch and, again,at dinner. This was very unusual for me,but,I wanted to see if it was a "fluke". It wasn't.

What can I say that Deborah E. did not already cover. I have dined here a couple of times and have been 100% satisfied. A great menu as well as an ever changing 5 and 9 course tasting menu. Great appetizers and main courses. I would love to dine here weekly but need to reserve my trips for special occasions and friends. Don't get me wrong, the food is worth the price and I will definitely return. I am constantly recommending this place to whoever will listen. Give it a try!!

Attention Meeting and Event Planners: This is not a good place to hold your dinner meeting. Corbett's is a bad restaurant for dinner meetings. From the very first phone call where the woman answering the phone was rude to the moment I left, I had the worst experience at this restaurant. You want to think that when you put on dinner meetings all over the world, that Louisville, KY would have some of the nicest staff. Unfortunately, because of this Corbett's experience, my group will remember Louisville with having some of the world's rudest and smug management. We booked this venue for a nursing educational meeting. We needed a private room with 4 walls with all seats having a full sight line of the video and speaker. We were spending several thousands of dollars on a Wednesday night. Corbett's shoved us into the room that they use for private events. It is not private. There is not even a door on it to block it off from the foyer and bar. So the noise from the bar pumped into our meeting. No one could hear the speaker (which is why people came). Half the audience (there were 30 ppl) could not see the video and the worse part about it all was that the manager could have cared less when I expressed my concern. We flew in speakers from Nebraska and Los Angeles for this and the managers only response to the room and the meeting being a total bust was, "well, was there anything that you did like about tonight?" He never sympathized, apologized, offered to fix it or offered anything to make it up. Another troubling problem was that we were short $600 of our minimum of $3000. When one of the guests asked for a side of mushrooms to take home, the waitress responded, "well, these mushrooms are expensive" and tried to not serve us even though we still had a $600 credit. If this is confusing you, in a nutshell, they were trying to give us as little as possible so they could make the highest profit off of our group. To be honest, the food was good, but that was not the purpose for the meeting. Many places all over town have good food. We spent over $3500 on 30ish people and we were treated poorly. I can't imagine how they treat you if you only spend $100. I do this for a living all over the world and I have already made sure that none of my pharmaceutical clients (or any clients) hold future dinner meetings here. It's just not worth the risk.

This place was fantastic! It was a classy lunch with a friend. I had the Kentucky Hot Brown Platter, which was amazing. After drinks and food, the bill was only $45. I thought this was a bargain for the quality of service and the quality of the meal.

We stumbled across Corbett's en route around Louisville on our way home to Cincinnati. We arrived late on a Thursday evening two weeks ago. We had no reservation, but were seated immediately. The place was extremely comfortable with good lighting. Service was excellent. My first glance at the menu caused me to fear we'd made a mistake. It appeared to be what I would normally call a "f..k with the food" kind of place, where nothing tastes like it should because it's been so worked over.I was wrong. Everything we ordered was at least very good, and many things were truly excellent. My favorite was the pork loin. I'd actually drive the two hours back to Louisville for more of that. I strongly recommend this place. Go out of your way to try it.

Party of 9 (4 kids) for Easter brunch. Terrific experience. The service was superb. We probably had the worst table in the restaurant (every restaurant has a worst table) and it was still a wonderful meal.

After reading all the wonderful reviews for this restaurant, I made reservations for Oaks night on Opentable. The chef/owner cancelled my reservation to my surprise without even calling me. He offered the outside tented patio area as a consolation as he had already given away my table....just bad customer service. Now I am stuck trying to find a nice place to eat on Oaks night...Hopefully his food offsets the way he runs his business. Because that is just cr*p.

Corbett's has excellent food, atmosphere and service. I have been there many times and I have never had anything but a wonderful experience. I absolutely love the summer movie nights. This is one of the best restaurant experiences I have had anywhere in the world.
