Greek Cuisine
Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Trust me when I say I wanted to find this place absolutely amazing. It was my first visit and I was not sure what two expect what I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about this location and trying the food to go. The owner was as pleasant as could be. I was a little surprised that I was encouraged to get the gyro dinner to take with me and make at home . I was told there's a lot more meat on the ones you make yourself at home. The instructions I was given was to put in the oven for 5 to 6 minutes and then enjoy. Unfortunately after 5 than 6 minutes the meat is still frozen. I end up baking it for probably closer to 12 minutes before it was ready to come out of the oven. This wasn't the disappointing part to me but the flavor of the meat was very poor and blah. I have had lamb gyros at other locations and expected the best but left feeling that this was nothing special. The Greek salad was very good, and the tzatziki sauce was a crowd pleaser. Maybe I caught them on a bad meat day but for $14 the meal just was not what I expected.

I would have taken a picture of the food but I scarfed it. It was so crazy fresh! Their tzatziki sauce blew my mind. But the best thing about this restaurant is the people. I was in there less than ten minutes and I left feeling like the lady and the guy running this place are the Greek auntie and uncle I never had. I could eat there every day...

The gyro I had here was not only HUGE, it's the best gyro I have had in Louisville. And Maria was so nice. They have so many choices I can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu.

Best Greek food in Louisville! I honestly love this place, not just for the one Greek dish everyone knows Gyros ( which Maria makes better then anyone in this city) But for all of the amazing Greek dishes Maria makes fresh every day. Honestly try something different to take home with you every time you go there, your taste buds and your stomach will be very happy!

I've never left a review while stuffing my face. The awesome Greek food here was worth it! Seriously the best Greek food I've ever had. Great prices and portions. Lots of to go options. Very nice owner. Go now!

You have to go and get a take out order from this restaurant just to meet the owners and experience the interesting atmosphere when you enter. I won't ruin the experience by explaining what I mean. Go and see for yourself:) There are NO tables inside although they have a table out back that you can sit at if it is not taken. This restaurant is great for take out. The food is very good traditional Greek food that you would expect your Greek grandmother to make. I love Greek food so I went to town... You have to start with stuffed grape leaves and either a chick pea salad or Greek salad. I got all three and each were delicious. The chick pea salad was filled with garbanzo beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, olive oil and vinegar...traditional but perfect. The house salad was standard with romaine lettuce, peppers, feta and kalamata olives in a vinaigrette (traditional yet good). Spinach pies took a while to warm up but were good with spinach, feta, and onions. You have many choices for sandwiches but we chose Olympic gyro No 2 which had lamb ( maybe a combo of lamb and beef), tomato, onions and tzatziki sauce on a pita and Zorba the Greek ( grilled lamb, tzatziki sauce, onions, tomatoes, cucmbers and feta. Both made a sloppy but delicious lunch for my 16 year old (who gave it a high 5) and myself. There was no room left for desert but desert was available. The owners are a treat to experience and the food is good and hearty. Make the trip to their space which is behind the god-awful White Castle in St. Matthews (how did White Castle get permission from St. Matthews to build that monstrosity in such a conspicuous location...it is awful?) But on the other hand if you want real food go around the castle and head to Chef Maria's! I await a full service Greek Restaurant with scantily clad belly dancers vying for me to put money in the garments...Maybe if I pray?

I will keep this one pretty short since I have a few reviews to write today. This place has been open since January. The Chef used to be at It's All Greek To Me, as well as some other places. She is always there (good sign) and she interacts with the guests and loves to talk. There are a few things to keep in mind here, they don't have seating for eating, but do have some seats for waiting and watching (more on this in a minute). Everything is made to order, don't go here if you have 5 minutes to get your food, treat it like a casual sit-down restaurant that you can't sit-down in. The food is great, and somewhat authentic, I think Chef Maria has done a great thing Americanizing some of the dishes to appeal to a broader market, while staying true to the Greek recipes and techniques. We had a lamb gyro, chicken gyro, and hummus. After ordering Maria went back and started preparing the gyros, then she came out with a can of garbanzo beans in hand. My wife had taken a seat in the waiting area, which is the perfect place watch, the chef make hummus from scratch! All of the food was very good, and we even decided to grab some baklava to take with us. If you are looking for good Greek food and have a little time to spare this is the place, they deliver, you can order online (DO THIS) and pick it up, or watch your food being prepared by a real Greek Chef who learned watching her Mother and Grandmother.

I love this place! I go at least once a week! I have tried every variation of gyro they offer, and they are all excellent. Maria and her family are always pleasant and welcoming! If you like gyros and Greek food, it's the best you will find in Louisville by far!!

Just tried the place for the first time and was really impressed. It is a small place that you get the items to go but it is all fresh made by the most friendly people you will ever find in a restaurant. I had the dinner lamb gyro and it was amazing. The lamb is is delicious, the pitas are fresh, and the tzatziki sauce is amazing. Simply put, they live up to the "best gyro's in town."

Hands down the best Giro in Louisville. Giro so gig it will feed two. The lamb is very good and sauce is just right.

The food is great but if you are in a hurry I would recommend calling ahead or you can place your order online. The soup was fantastic and I had a grilled chicken gyro. It was a huge portion. I have never been a huge gyro fan but would definetly go back and try other gyros on the menu.
