High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Greasy spoon at any time of the day? Yes! The lighted sign just says "restaurant". We really did not know whether we were at the right place when we entered. But we were hungry and desperate enough on this Thursday night at 9:30 to try our luck. The place is pleasant enough for a diner: more lively than Trig and Leaf and less Denny's than a Denny's or IHOP. Our server was friendly and greeted us quickly. She never let our drinks get below half empty. But since there is only one cook, our food did seem to take a while to arrive. The menu offers 24hr breakfast items, burgers and sandwiches and a few diner dinners. I really liked my order of corned beef hash with Swiss Cheese and 2 eggs over-medium. The corned beef was just salty enough to mix with the hash browns on the bottom. Swiss just happens to be my favorite cheese! I devoured the whole pile happily. Hubby said his order of junior burger was just like all of the other ones he's had. We will be happy to return the next time we need a simple late night meal.

Every time I dine here it's an after party in my mouth. Great old fashioned burgers and the FRIES, mmmmmmm!! Midnight staff is so-so but not sure I'd expect much when they're working the drunkard's hour.

Our first time there will not be our last! Super friendly staff and our food was served quickly and the order was perfect! The burger was fresh, juicy and delicious! My husband had breakfast and hasn't stopped talking about the bacon!

This place exceeded our expectations... We were tourists in from Utah looking for breakfast at dinner time. We happened to arrive in town right during the Derby, so slowness wasn't an issue (it was fairly empty) and we liked the easy going atmosphere. They had incredible breakfast food and the corned beef hash was the best we've ever had.

I normally really like this place for their greasy diner food. This review is for last night's staff. They got my order wrong, which is no big deal, it's the fact that they got snotty with me when I pointed it out. They didn't say sorry or offer to fix the mistake. Had it been busy I would have been understanding, however, it was slow in there. There was no need for attitude.

Really cool joint. I went for dinner, and the next day breakfast. The burgers are awesome! Toasted buns hun! The eggs were fluffy and that gravy they were slinging looked damn good too! Best thing, 24/7 and Conway Twitty on the jukebox! Yes, they have a jukebox!

Thanks to Yelp, we found a great burger spot while passing through Louisville, which just so happened to have 24/7 breakfast, my 2 (or 3) favorite words! The place is a hole-in-the-wall, in a gentrified neighborhood, which in Atlanta-speak means that you want a "clean car" with nothing "tempting" showing. They were in the middle of a shift change, but that didn't stop them from being super helpful. Ms. J was the perfect host and we have the same taste in music with jamming to Tina's "I Can't Stand the Rain". The omelets are huge and burgers looked tasty! Mind you, this isn't an egg white substitution kind of place, but it's about perfect! The classic jukebox is a perfect addition! Check it out! They have a sister spot on 4th Street called the Old Tavern on Fourth I believe, which I'll make sure to hit up the next time I'm in Louisville!

Best late, late night food in town and I would know! Food here is freshly made to order, the burger is a nice size and the fries are seasoned perfectly. Real milkshakes at Burger Boy--and they are fantastic, very good ingredients and no fluff. On the counter, next to 50's style diner stools, you will find huge, enormous cinnamon rolls slathered in icing---wow, take some home for the morning, it's awesome--or sometimes a two-layer chocolate cake. This is not a place for those dieting. Healthier options may be on the menu, but I do not recommend eating them. Why bother? Go for diner food and you will not be disappointed. The jukebox is a nice touch as well. Everything from Elvis, Waylon and Fleetwood Mac to Kid Rock. This is very close to the U of L campus so we have encountered drunk students and a slight wait on late nights, just adds to the charm. Not sure I would go eat here alone at night but I do think it is worth going with friends for good grub.

There's an old joke that asks, "Why do stores that are open 24/7 have locks on their doors?" Burger Boy Diner claims to be open 24/7. That's simply not true and a real disappointment. I arrived this morning at 6 am looking forward to a big breakfast. Were they open? The lighted sign in the window said "Open." There were employees inside. But the front door was locked. I called the restaurant phone number. No answer. I knocked and spoke to the employee inside. "Are you open?" I asked? She said, "No. We're closed for restocking. We'll open again at 7 am." She was not restocking. She was cooking herself breakfast. I won't go back to a restaurant that claims to be open 24/7 but isn't. That's more interested in cooking themselves breakfast than serving paying customers. Don't waste your time.

Just walked out and told them to throw my food away. They mixed up the cheeses on me and my girlfriend'a burger. How'd they fix it you say? Why by pulling the cheese off of each burger with his (the cook) bare hands!! And when my cheese wouldn't come off- he just threw an ICE COLD piece of cheese on a COOKED burger.... Oh and they changed the fries. Never again. Never.

Great place for breakfast! Super friendly. Had biscuits & pepper gravy plus crispy bacon. Yummy. The owner, Dan, came over to say hi - nice guy. Will definitely go there again. A real gem in beautiful Old Louisville.

Wow. Just zipping through places I've been over the last few months and I really have been lax at reviewing. For shame. So, while clicking through I felt I should at least stop at a particular spot that has at least stood out. And Juanita's stood right up. Now, I've noticed that Juanita's has a rather schizophrenic history of reviews. My review is not likely to solve that issue at all because it may be as scattershot as the rest, except contained in one critique. I love diners. The kinds with the barstools near the counter and the flat top grill right for everyone to see or, at the very least, hear the sound of food sizzling upon. Particularly those old diners that are extensions of the owners themselves, that carry their personality every open hour. from pictures on the walls to the menus at the table. Love that stuff. Juanita's does a decent job of that. It has that feel. That's a good thing. But the service is not quick, friendly, but not quick, as the cook times tend to stray to the long side, and although I don't mind drinking in the atmosphere, sometimes I just want a refill of my drink and my food tout de suite, please. And the food, the food is good. Burgers are done right, at least they were this day, and breakfast is served 24-7, which is always worthy of a star, because you never know when you may need to carb load. In regard to 24-7, as this, I suspect is where the schizophrenia comes in, as even restaurants may need rest, otherwise it would simply be an "aurant." It may work for a McDonald's but not always for Juanita's as the food/service doesn't remain consistent. So you take the good, you take the bad, you take them both, and there you have, a 4-star review. Or the facts of life.

Visit date: early January 2014. After reading all of the good reviews and multiple visits by fellow yelpers we decided to give this place a shot. The visit pretty much lived up to the various reviews. We decided to check out their breakfast menu and showed up in the morning. Upon arrival we were told there would be 30-45 minute wait. This place is small and it fills up fast. The atmosphere was so nice the wait didn't matter and time flew by quickly. What adds to the atmosphere is the open kitchen/diner layout and it's great to watch servers, cooks and the rest of the staff interact. We ordered two items. The "Biscuits and Gravy" and the "Burger Boy Breakfast Special". The gravy was good, not too heavy on the grease or flour and the Biscuits were nice and light. The sausage in the gravy was a great and seemed to tie it all together like a great area rug (yes, I went there). The home fries and eggs that came with the breakfast special were made to order and the seasoning used in the home fries added good flavor. We went out on a limb and ordered a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. Please note, this wasn't on the menu but they made one anyway! That is awesome service. Overall the experience was good and I foresee this as a go to place if we are ever in the area and in search of a good breakfast diner. Although the ambience was great and you get somewhat of a cozy feeling due to the small size of the kitchen, I'm kind of perplexed on why there isn't a bigger grill. I know restaurant grills can be expensive but the benefits always outweigh the cost due to this restaurants already established clientele. Seriously, has anyone at Burger Boy ever played diner dash? LOL

Happened upon this place on Yelp around 10pm & decided since it was nearby & cheap, we'd give it a shot. Definitely a good decision. Upon first glance, place is incredibly clean, organized, & welcoming overall especially compared to other diners I've been to. Easy to miss from the street though given that there's just a simple old sign proclaiming "RESTAURANT", but I think it gives it character. Lots of options on the menu for any meal of the day, I personally was in the mood for a burger and went with the Junior Burger Boy platter. Bun toasted to perfection, cheddar cheese oozing over the sides, the only thing it could've done better with was a bit more seasoning to the burger but the fries more than made up for it. Absolute crispy heaven. Other notable features would be the friendly staff, jukebox, & the option to watch while your food is prepared if you'd like. Overall, impressed & will definitely be back!!

This is a great spot for breakfast. The food is always good. If you are looking for one of Louisville's hidden gems, and you like diner food, this is for you. Don't forget a dollar or two for the jukebox. My favorite meal is the Junior Burger Boy Combo. Delish!

Location is nice, in the middle of a residential area, so not too busy, and they have outside seating, which is also nice. Everyone has always been nice enough, but the cooking is hit or miss. Today, I went for breakfast. The scrambled eggs were so undercooked that they looked like cottage cheese. The bacon was swimming in grease and soggy, so also not fully cooked, and I ordered the hash browns "crispy" or "well-done". The hash browns were barely off-white in color and soaked in oil. I asked the lady about that, and she said "we ran out of oil". *How about the grease my bacon drowned in??? The pancakes were fine, the coffee was serviceable, and I may try again one day, but the cook was in an obvious hurry with only 2 tables to serve. My overall take is negative, but not to the point where I would say they are awful. I realize it's a diner, but that doesn't prevent them from serving good food. If you go, just make sure you specify how you want each item cooked and hold them accountable if they don't.

Good food horrible service. Not sure if its a staffing issue of just the people working there. I won't point out anyone in particular but waiting in a line for 20 min pay for a meal that you waited 30 min for, mind you a simple burger and chili cheese fries is crazy. If I can order food at the table why can't I pay at the table??? Anyway great food horrible service.

One of the best little dives I've ever been. My friends and I are always here late at night and so is everyone else. Being open 24/7 is a great thing for them so close to campus. The late night staff and chef are all very nice and don't skip a bit. It can take a while to get your food sometimes, but it's always crowded when I'm there so I'm sure that's the only reason why. The greasy burgers and fries are more than worth the wait. Everyone here is always nice, workers and customers alike, and I've never had a bad experience here.

The important thing to remember when visiting Burger Boy is simple- just take it for what it is. The service is slow. That has been true while sitting at the counter for lunchtime or sitting outside at 3:00 in the morning. In my experiences, I have concluded it is this way because there never seems to be enough servers. I have never seen more than two servers waiting on customers. I think this is more of a management issue. With it being near more than one college campus, know that there will be intoxicated College students. They will be loud and annoying if you are not also intoxicated. Again, just take it for what is- a greasey late night diner within walking distance of tons of student housing. It makes for excellent people watching. The food is top notch diner food. I usually stick with a burger and fries as it never disappoints. A friend has told me before, "I will always spend my last $10 on Burger Boy." The presentation appears to be nothing special, but there's just something about the made to order food. The hand made milkshakes are highly recommended!

Ms. J and Luther served up an awesome early morning breakfast today, corned beef hash (and I added a lil avocado) and my wife had the French Toast. Both were great! Couldn't speak more highly of the experience and customer service. What a great way to start the morning!

Yesterday, a friend took me to Burger Boy. I am a fan of very simple food, but also a believer that even simple food can be done better than average by attention to detail. I was overwhelmed by the size of the menu, and the size of the desserts I saw in the old fashioned cake displays on the counter. Those cupcakes and cinnamon rolls nearly pulled me in, and if I hadn't gotten so full from dinner, I would have happily tried them out. I ordered a basic grilled cheese and fries. I got a crispy, buttery sandwich that, while having the world's most basic components was more than the sum of it's parts due to it's perfect execution. And OH OH OH, the fries. Thick battered, heavily (but not TOO heavily) seasoned joy sticks. And people, I am not a major french fry consumer. These are quite honestly, the BEST french fry I have ever had. I live an hour and a half south of this restaurant, but you had better believe that I will be back. Because I can't get the rest of the menu out of my mind. Also, very friendly and helpful cooks, servers and managers! Thanks for the great experience, Burger Boy!

I finally actually went in here and sat down for food. And i was quite happy with the overall experience. Food was great diner food. Greasy, filling, will likely kill me from a heart attack in 3-5 years, but awesome. Just what I wanted the morning after the Final Four game. The GF and I both made several "Mmm..." sounds during our meal. Perfect. The service is slow, and gets slower the busier the diner gets. I'm forgiving of this, since there were three people running the entire diner, including cooking, serving, checking out, busing, etc. Not a place to go if you're in a hurry when it's busy. Price: AMAZING! Three egg Western omelette, biscuits and gravy, ham, 2 orders of toast, two orders of home fries, 2 eggs, coffee, and a fountain drink. Add in a 25% tip, and the entire meal for the two of us came to $18.50. Hell yeah.

Burger Boy is great for what it is. It's a 24 hour diner where you can order anything off the menu at any time. It's solid food, the chef was pretty chill, and it was cheap. There is a take out fee.

My first visit to Burger Boy was last December. I've been back many times since. It is a classic, short-order diner experience. Food is honest, simple, and delicious. I love watching and listening to the staff - who have such personality. It is exactly what its suppose to be for the type to place it is.

One of the best burgers I've ever had! I live on the west coast and am a big fan of In N Out. Burger Boy's burger arguably tops even the In N Out burger! Whenever I visit Louisville again, this will be on my list of places to eat.

The food and service were EXCELLENT here. We came in with 4 adults and 6 children (sorry!) but they were so nice to us and didn't mind all the space we took up. They were patient with our sometimes loud children and were quick to help and serve us. Like I said, the food was also delicious!!! And prices can't be beat. Thank you!

Went on a afternoon day, took about a hour and half to receive our food. Meanwhile, we never got refills during the entire wait. When we got our food it was cold, and I mean COLD! I had ordered a steak and had to ask the waiter for a knife. Waited 15 mins, still no knife so I had my B.F pay. I just wanted to get out of there. Lol

Great food (and I don't want to take anything away from the food they make there) but they just have different workers every time I go there, which can be good or bad... this time it wasn't good. The ladies locked the door, claiming it was too busy because one of the workers decided not to show. THEY LOCKED THE DOOR and when I knocked, after waiting there for a few minutes while no one acknowledged my guest and I were there, the lady yelled, "HOLD ON ONE MINUTE. S***!" Just felt disrespected and I knew they wouldn't make my food with quality. I love Burger boy but the people who are employed there, now, aren't quality workers at all.

I take off one star because when you come you should expect to become frustrated with the attentiveness of the waiter/waitress, expect they might forget the sugar and or cream for your coffee as well as make multiple other trips for mundane items like forks, and you might possibly receive the order of the person next to you, however if you set your expectations low you will leave delighted! The clientele varies greatly depending on the day and time of day, but you can't expect anything different with a 24/7 diner. You may be dining with belligerent drunks at 4am or watching an employee try to kick out a sleeping patron. Or better yet, either of those two options could be you yourself. Be prepared. On the food note: it's great. From a short stack of chocolate chip pancakes to a bison burger, your taste buds will be happy. The choice between sweet and savory is a never ending battle every time I eat at a diner, and that will certainly not change no matter how many times I return here. Burger Boy through and through is probably better than your best friend. Always there for you, never dull. Also, why are there bamboo plants growing outside on the corner of Brook Street? That sums it all up.

Ok, the service seemed a little slow until I overheard the waitress say the dining room in the back had twenty people back there. I wasn't in any hurry anyway. I had a burger with all the extra fixings and hash browns with cheese on them. The bun for the burger was so good, I could have just eaten that alone! It was the kind of burger I couldn't put down until it was gone. So good! I'm devouring a brownie with ice cream and whipped cream as I type this. Mmmm! I will be back! Well worth the wait!

Excellent dimer food. I actually ordered pancakes, home fries and eggs. Normally I am not a huge fan of home fries but these were filled with flavor and very crisp. Service was very prompt and on the ball. It was very speedy and appreciated. BTW cash is only accepted there. Would defineatly come back.

Burger Boy is a diner through and through. It doesn't try to be anything else. Sometimes they will mess up your order, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. It is the gamble you have to take and accept at burger boy. The food is very reasonably priced and the menu is very traditional diner. I think the burger boy combo is a nice cheap burger option, and most of the breakfast I have had there has been good. They also have the good kind of cheese fries with the fake nacho cheese that is probably terrible for you but so good. They also have a veggie burger that is good and something you wouldn't necessarily expect from a place like this. Go here instead of Denny's/Wafflehouse and you won't be disappointed.

Quiet in the morning, a nice little oasis in the neighborhood. Clean (exceptionally so for a 24 hour place), friendly, decent value for the money. I got breakfast: two over easy, homefries, toast, and bacon. Bacon and eggs were just the way I like 'em. Toast was HOT, which is rare enough to notice. Downchecks for the non-dairy creamer on the coffee, and for the pre-made potatoes; very much prefer hand-sliced spuds done on the grill. Music was good, not too loud. Waitress was friendly, but not overdone. I think I'll probably go back soon.

Been here twice now. First time I went the waitress screwed up my ticket and charged me for someone else's food (double the cost of mine) and didn't have the capability of cancelling the transaction. She did however give me the owner's "personal" phone number to make the situation right. When I called it ended up just being the main line to order take out. Not impressed. The second time I came was on a Sunday around 1:00 pm. I didn't expect it to be very quick for me to get my food considering I had two others with me and it was a Sunday after church. The service was awful, regardless of the wait. I ordered a coke when I ordered my meal. It took over an hour for our food to be done, and during that hour our waiter didn't check up on us a single time to refill our drinks. After the first 30 minutes i actually walked up to the drink machine and refilled my coke myself, and they still didn't come check on us. I ordered their Burger Boy Combo, supposedly their "signature" burger. I asked for everything on it except for the pickles and tomatoes, with a side of bbq. By the time i finally got my meal, what they gave me was the "Burger Boy Special" without the "special" sauce, and the only toppings were a single pickle and a tomato. The exact opposite of what I ordered. No bbq sauce on the side, and they even forgot to give me fries. The waitress apologized and returned with the "fixed" burger, although it still didn't have the "special" sauce on it. It took them so long to make my fries that all three of us had finished eating before they were done. I ended up having to take them in a to-go box. Needless to say i will no longer be supporting Burger Boy, this is now 0 for 2 with them.

Slow service again - someone should open another restaurant, the community would support it - hands down. An alternative to always waiting a redic. Amount of time, every time. Sigh. #imissoptions

Went here because someone said they had corned beef hash... My tastebuds were set in anticipation. The hash was tasty, but would be more accurately described as roast beef hash, not corned beef. My husband had country fried steak wish was delicious. Also, their french fries were the best I've tasted in quite a while. Three stars for lack of true corned beef hash and what I would describe as "laid back" service.

Awesome place to go if it's yours or a friend of yours first time, food is good as always, service can be a hit or miss.

This place is supposed to be a Louisville institution, but I could never figure out why. The Good: The fries were nice and thick with a crispy coating and good seasoning. The onion petals were the perfect size and also had a nice crispy coating. The vanilla shake reminded me of the kinds that you got from a soda jerk, served in the metal blender cup with a spoon. The waitress was extremely friendly, if not expedient or accurate (more to follow below). The Bad: The 1/2-lb cheeseburger I ordered was just a plain beef patty with lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle on a buttered and grilled bun. It was OK, but I expect more from a place called Burger Boy. I should have ordered the actual "Burger Boy" which has a much thinner beef patty with their "Burger Boy sauce" which is basically mayonnaise mixed with cayenne pepper. The Ugly: The place is super-tiny with very few tables so you would think service would be really fast and the food would come out in a few minutes since all they do is slap some thin patties on the griddle. Not quite. We waited several minutes just to get our orders in and then we waited and waited and waited for our food to come out. The waitress messed up my order royally. I wanted a full order of chili cheese fries, but instead I got a half-order on my plate with the burger. It came with neither chili nor cheese. Her solution to fix the problem was to scrape the fries from my plate, bring them back to the kitchen, add a half-order of new fries and then add the chili and cheese (instead of just sending out a new order of chili cheese fries). She even forgot to ask me what I wanted on my burger so they ended up just putting everything on the side. But she was nice.

Greasy diner burgers and breakfast. Good and priced right.

Ok, I'm going to cheat a little bit and tell you to read Peter P's review for a good factual account of the service and most of the food. Here's my caveat -- while he is right that the wait for a table was bad and the wait for the food was worse, it was TOTALLY worth it. I am a slow eater, and I wolfed my burger down in about two minutes. My mother, who never finishes a meal, EVER, left only crumbs on her place. I don't know how to describe the burgers. They are nothing special, but once you taste them, they are just absolutely delicious. Chili cheese fries are your averaged canned nacho cheese with canned hot dog chili on top. I think they were so good just because (1) you can't find them very often, and (2) there was SO MUCH chili and cheese sticky goodness. When it's a five napkin meal, I consider it a success. And don't be a baby and fork it. Dig in with all ten fingers and suck 'em clean. Mmm...chili. Dad was salivating over the guys' breakfast at the next table. He'll try the breakfast next time, but I will definitely stick with the burger. Just don't go hungry. Don't worry, you'll be hungry when the food finally comes.

I have eaten there before and got my food and things were decent. We were hungry and live in old town, it was just convenient. But things change. Last time I went the service was awful to the point where I walked out. After walking in and waiting at the counter to make a to go order, two guys walk in and sit down. They ignore us and take their order and start making their food and drinks. A man comes in and stands behind us and a couple comes in. Not one word said to any of us. No "welcome" or "we will be right with you." Three workers are standing at the register and one asks the others if we have been helped. They reply that we have not. Still no one says a word to us. Finally we ask if they are able to take orders and they say they are doing a shift change. They don't apologize, or even try to write it down, or anything. After that we just walked out. I felt disrespected and was not going to give them my money.

Finally got to try this place out after hearing about it for so long. I have a thing for any place serving breakfast 24/7 so I'm not sure why it took me so long to try it. First off the atmosphere is nice. Very laid back and all the customers were incredibly nice. Service was solid, but the food did take a while considering how few other customers were there. I decided to get just a basic burger and fries. The fries were probably the best I've had in town, the burger was really good as well though I wouldn't say it's going to change your life or anything. But considering how cheap it is it was really great. I'll definitely be back for their breakfast sometime, it's unfortunate that it's so far away from otherwise I'd probably become a regular there very quickly!

Just ate there for lunch and it was awesome. I had a cheeseburger and fries. It's a small diner, atmosphere is nice and the waiter was friendly. The cheeseburger was really good, and the seasoning on the fries was awesome!

For what it is, I'm giving it 5 stars. I'm not sure how you would improve much on a 24/7 non-chain diner. Don't miss this place!!! Found it on a late night biz trip (not what you think:), open 24/7. Nice wide variety menu and THE FRIENDLIEST staff you will ever meet. You might not take a chance if you didn't read a good review. Not the best neighborhood but I think its pretty safe. After all, I went at midnight by myself. That night I had the double burger boy with pepperjack cheese, fries with nacho sauce, and a nice housemade mac salad. All very tasty. The next day on my way out of town, had a late breakfast (served 24 hrs btw). Biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs, home fries, toast and bacon for 6 bucks. No complaints with this place and hope you will give it a try because you will be back. Owners: Consider adding red eye gravy and sugar cured ham! Perfect addition for such a diner.

Where to even begin on Burger Boy. It is a diner that is open 24/7 and we seem to utilize those hours, ending up there at the crack of dawn. And yet there are always other folks on the same page. So, the food isn't out of this world. The service isn't out of this world. But it is a place that you'll find yourself again once you find it that first time. Why? It is just a decent diner. The food is a-ok and it is there for you at 3am. Likely the crew you are with needs nourishment and this joint has it. Burgers, omelets, BLT, whatever you can toss on the griddle and cook up. Greasy, pretty good, and you can sit at a booth and hang out enjoying the other drunkards. This is not where you go for dinner. If that is what you are thinking this place is, then clear your assumptions. It is just that step beyond White Castle. More expensive and a lot more time consuming sobering up/chilling out gorging. And occasionally crazy peeps on the streets outside. We are in the meh area of Old Louisville. If you meet the awesome dude that steals smart phones from sorority girls and then tries to sell them to you, don't steal one to return to the girl. That caused lots of trouble for some guys we met one night. Though made for a really strange story the next day...

I have eaten at Burger Boy Diner on three occasions and enjoyed it each time. The first time I had the patty melt dinner. The sandwich was pretty darn good and the fires were piping hot. The next two times I had the bison burger dinner, with onions, pepper jack and grilled mushrooms on the burger. Absolutely delicious burger! The fries were good as usual,. The service has been good each time I have eaten there. This last time I sat at the counter and had some good chit chat with the gal cooking my food. The guy who owns/runs the joint is friendly and comes out to talk with his customers. This lends to a nice atmosphere.

I went there after seeing a deal on living social (but did not buy it) and decided to give it a try. The diner was blah and super cold! It was 50 degrees outside and they had the ceiling fans blaring. The food was regular breakfast food nothing to scream about well except for the home fries. We ordered eggs, toast, turkey bacon, home fries and french toast. The service was no existence and when paying by credit card they did not offer to email me my reciept.......

Burger Boy promotes their buffalo burgers, and to be honest, any restaurant that uses frozen, preformed patties for burgers (beef or otherwise), is selling themselves short. I was looking forward to a fresh ground burger and so naturally I was disappointed. With a salad and drink the total was over $9. It wasn't worth it.

Good Food, but WOW...we waited for an hour and a half for our breakfast to be served. There were only six other people inside and most of them received their food before we did, despite their latter arrival. No air conditioning, either.

Not sure why a "burger" is their specialty -- tasted like a JTM frozen patty. Got the buffalo burger. Bun was cold and not toasted, the meat was not seasoned or tender.. but the grilled onions were good. If you're looking for a great burger, don't go here..

This is a cool little corner storefront restaurant in old louisville. The menu is pretty basic for a diner, with a few local and veg suprises. The food was cooked on grill behind the counter and was pretty quick. Two eggs, toast, and home fries, which were really tasty. The coffee was nothing special, but I thought it would have been cool to use a local roaster even if it was just john conti, but alas they did not. It would be really great if they got sunegros or heine bros. On the plus side its open 24/7 which always appeals to me.

I wish this place was in Indy. Super cute renovated diner that looks like the only renovation was cleaning and painting, which I like. Perched on a corner in old Louisville across from an awesome field of sunflowers that the owner planted. Juke box, big windows, counter with original stools, and to top it all off, good breakfast. It's cash only, but they have an ATM so you are covered. The server/cook was uncommonly friendly, it was almost unnerving. He forgot a few things from our order and was pleased as punch to return to the hot flat top and whip up the missing items. It was like being waited on by person who has interned at the North Pole with Santa himself. He was so friendly! They are fairly new from what I gathered, so this optimism may fade. It's your usual greasy spoon/ diner fare: eggs, toast, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, home fries, etc. all made to order. If the street was a little more busy with car &/or people traffic I could hang out there by the big floor to celling windows with coffee and watch the world slowly cruise around.

I really hate to do this and want to start by saying I know exactly what I'm getting into and what my expectations should be walking into a place like this at 1:30 am on a Saturday night. Maybe its because we were traveling through the night and not obliterated like you'd have to be to stomach the food. The building was cute, but it just went downhill from the minute we walked in the door. This could have just been an isolated off night, but god, it was one thing after another. We started by ordering veggie omelets with homefries, toast and coffee. Let me just say it took a good 10 minutes or more to place the order. That didnt bother me, they were busy, i get that. The 45 minutes it took to actually get the coffee, i dont get. And heres the disturbing part, after waiting 45 minutes or so for a cup of coffee, it was LITERALLY ICE COLD. Not luke warm, really, really cold. No flagging down one of the guys working there though...just deal with it. 20 minutes or more the food finally came which was overcooked, brown eggs, super salty homefries and dry toast. At that point we just scarfed it down to get the hell out of there. I guess we should have followed the lead of some other customers there when we got there that cancelled their order and took off before paying for and stomaching that mess.

I don't mind the dirty, shabby, hole-in-the-wall ambiance, I don't mind the fact that my table always needs to be wiped down when I arrive, I don't even mind that the bathroom is super scary. When I need a good plate of biscuits and gravy I know where to go. And it ain't Lynn's Paradise Cafe'.
