Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I like the lamb soup and tacos best, but I've had a good burrito and tamales too. They offer several different meats for taco and burrito fillings. Beware if you try the lamb soup, it is SPICY! It's a very clean restaurant and the owners are friendly. I can't believe how reasonable the prices are. Last time I had lunch here with two other people and the bill came to $21 for all of us. I will definitely be back often!

Just had lunch here and it was great! $13 for two of us, we ordered 4 tacos and a large chicken burrito to share. The burrito was big and stuffed with lettuce, cheese, beans, sour cream, and meat of choice. The interior of the restaurant is very neat and clean. Even though the outside looks a little bit sketchy, it is definitely not.

The Lamb soup when you are sick is a sure fire cure!!! It's warm with lots of peppers! The staff is accommodating and friendly. The flavors from the foods are bursting with sun ripened Chile's and tomatoes!!" Love this place makes me homesick for Tucson AZ For anyone who has actually visited an Authentic Mexican restaurant in Mexico ( non tourist type) This is an instant flashback!! Spicey Great Heat!! If all you have had is Americanized Mexican food this is an eye opener! A definitely Authentic Flavor from Mexico you can't get anywhere else.

We gave San Miguel a try today. Location and feel ... slightly sketchy. I'm fine with that if the food is great, but first impression was just ok. They used white, fluffy corn tortillas, and double-wrap their tacos. Not a great meat-to-bread ratio, and these are not my favorite tortillas, flavor or texture-wise. Quality of the steak (asada) and chicken were just ok in my opinion. The steak was well-cooked to develop some flavor. But overall the tacos were a bit one-dimensional. The pork tamale was decent, but again suffered from the too-much-carb/bread situation. They make you pick green or red sauce. Both were homemade and worth trying, The red packed a hot punch.

Excellent, authentic and inexpensive. Nothing fancy here, just good food. Very friendly staff

I'm going to keep it short and sweet: this is an authentic Mexican taco truck, except not in a truck but in an old fast food place's shell. The tacos come with onion, cilantro, your choice of meat, and salsa. Oh, on soft CORN tortillas; yes, soft tacos don't come in wheat tortillas. The tortas have fresh slabs of what I'm going to guess is queso panela on top of tasty asada steak or whatever other filling you'd like. The bread might be oversized for it, but it was fresh and chewy. The English menu has only a fraction of what meats are available, but if you don't know what tripa or lengua is, perhaps that's for the best. Also, I was the only person who ordered in English while I was there. So, want to know what actual Mexicans eat? I wouldn't bring a family here, but if you want to know the answer to that question, come and get it.

On a quest to try all of our local Mexican restaurants in Lexington, I finally stopped here. It's conveniently located directly on New Circle Road, but each time that I would find myself passing it, eating wasn't the agenda. So, finally I made my way here. Looking at the place from the outside I knew that it wasn't going to be fancy or anything and it wasn't. The menu board is quite small. You order at the counter, it's pretty fast casual, so tipping isn't a huge part of the meal budget. This was my second time ever, ordering and trying a torta. This one wasn't as good, compared to the first one I tried. For over $5, it was lacking and overpriced. I would compare it to a less than mediocre version a 6 inch Subway sandwich. After I finished the torta, I was disappointed that I didn't feel like I experienced an authentic Mexican dish, so I went back and ordered a cup of lamp soup. It was way too spicy for my taste, to the point that I had a hard time catching my breath and almost thought that I was having some sort of an allergic to something in the soup. It was literally the spiciest thing that I've ever eaten. Would I go back? No way. There isn't too much else to try here and I don't see the torta or soup changing much.

There are a lot of options for Mexican food around Lexington lately. We decided to stop in here for some tacos one evening during the week. The place smelled strangely of bleach, but perhaps they had just cleaned. We ordered beef, chicken, and lengua. The prices were very reasonable and the food was prepared quickly. Overall, though, I thought that the tacos were just OK, and there are many places here in Lexington that have much better. Perhaps I didn't have the best of what they have to offer, but I would probably go somewhere else the next time that I am feeling the need for Mexican.

Wow, an instant favorite. I was nearby having my car worked on at Greens, and was hungry for dinner. This was the first place down the street that was there. It's a little hole-in-the-wall taco joint. The menu is in English and Spanish (and the English menu omits about half the meats they offer. Admittedly most English speakers wouldn't want tripe or tongue tacos, but they do have chorizo and lamb if you ask, even if it's not on the English menu). It's tasty, very authentic, and pretty affordable ($1.75 per taco). I haven't tried the tortas yet, but they looked very tasty too. They also have that nice Mexican coca-cola. A very good place to pick up a tasty meal if you're in the neighborhood.
