Food was decent. Basically higher-tier, higher-priced fast food. Customer service was excellent. The women I ordered from were super nice and gave me a free side since it was my first time. Another one gave me some coupons for other free sides when I ordered a different side to try. Food is 3 star, customer service is 5 star. Hence the 4 star rating.

I waited a few days to post this review to see if I felt better about my experience. I don't, so here goes: I waited 18 minutes for two burgers to go. The burgers were sloppily dressed and fell apart as we were eating them. Half the fries were small pieces that were too done and crunchy. Used to be a great place for a burger, but after spending $17 for two burgers and fries, I think this might be our last visit.

Came back for another visit to try their much-hyped salads, to give their lighter fare a chance in the spotlight. I selected the Baja Cobb salad, which touts fresh greens, avocado, jalapeños, bacon, and a chipotle dressing. I also asked them to add the grilled chicken, since I thought it sounded good. I have to be honest. The salad was totally worth the hype. Everything was garden fresh, with lots of variety in the greens. The chicken was well-seasoned and grilled to perfection. The salad overall was HUGE! I could have easily split it with another person, but honestly, it was so good, I'm not sure I'd be able to. As much as it pains me to say it, they could probably open up a chain called SmashSalad and it would give Vinaigrette a run for it's money.

I guess I was hoping for more of a "real" hamburger experience, but it turns out that Smashburger is more of a "fast food" burger experience. The food definitely isn't worth the price, but it tasted fine. However, I was super irritated to order one of my burgers lettuce-wrapped (which they assured me they could do) and then get home to find a burger patty with absolutely no lettuce. Just a patty with the toppings on it. Lame. I won't be back.

If you love hamburgers, Smash Burger will send you to the moon! The burgers are juicy and require multiple napkins. For spice, try the Spicy Baja. Jalapeños, sauce, and guacamole. The fries are thin and crisp. Get the smashfries to kick it up with Rosemary pesto. The fried pickles are crunchy and flavorful. Even the onion rings are crisp and lightly breaded. Basically, go here. Enjoy. Laugh. Cry. Become one.

I recently dined at Smashburger and thought I'd cover the highlights. Ordered the Bluegrass Smashburger which is Angus beef with fried banana peppers, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, and wild turkey barbecue sauce on an egg bun. Their burgers come in two sizes: 1/3 pound and 1/2 pound. I chose 1/2 pound since I think it provides the better meat to bun ratio. My burger was cooked perfectly and I loved the combination of ingredients. My wife chose the Veggie Frites (fresh green beans and carrot strips, flash fried) and I selected Spicy Buffalo Fries (fries dry seasoned with Frank's Redhot). Both were delectable and perfectly complemented by the side of ranch dressing provided. Next visit I plan on ordering the Veggie Frites with Frank's Redhot dry seasoning added. Loved the meal and can't wait to go back!

Smashburger puts all other burger places to shame. The burgers would make the most stubborn dieter fall off the wagon, right into a dish of smash-fries. Top it all off with amazing service. It makes me wish we had one of these near my home (although my waistline is crying in relief). They accidentally gave my husband the wrong burger; he didn't notice that it was a smaller version of what he ordered until he had a couple of bites. Not only did they promptly make him the correct sandwich, wrapped to go, with a free side item coupon, the staff was beyond some of the nicest I've encountered. I just can't rave enough about this place.

It was our first visit and we will be returning. Food was cooked fresh and delicious! Staff was very friendly, plenty of parking, and was clean

Had the classic smash with smash sauce and American cheese. Also tried the spicy Baja smash chicken with cool guacamole, fresh jalapenos, pepper Jack and chipotle mayo on a spicy bun. They literally smash the burger patty here, and wind up tenderizing it very well. The burger patty almost melts in your mouth, making each bite delectable. The smash chicken was not as impressive, as it does not respond as well to being smashed like the burger meat, but I still like the thin chicken breast concept. Unfortunately they do not use pickled jalapenos in the sandwich. The smash fries were a let down.

You want a great burger in Lexington, and don't want to get it from a high school kid hanging out of a window (good, because good burgers don't come from there) Head to SmashBurger off of Nicholasville and grab the Bluegrass, if you don't like it, I'm sorry for ya. The perfect blend of (real) Fast food and Indoor dining breeds the best "smashed" burgers in town. WAY better than Grease Guys Burgers and Fries for sure. They take time to make the burgers, so don't expect to get it in 3 minutes, but the time you wait means the quality is that much better. Don't be fooled by imitation burger joints, head to SmashBurger and figure out what a real burger is!

I'll start this review the same way that I started my other SB review last year of the other location. Usually I'm not a burger fan, but I like to venture out every now and then. Everytime I've tried SB I've not had a complaint. I recommend the buffalo chicken sandwich. It's topped with blue cheese, or you can request it without it. They stopped serving the buffalo chicken sandwich for a while but then, by popular demand, they brought it back. Speaking of buffalo, they have buffalo seasoned fries!! They are are a bit salty, but that's how I like my fries. They also serve several different beer options, including Kentucky Ale. Fast casual restaurants are taking over the Lexington restaurant scene, and I like it. This is my kind of fast food. This is a franchise, but the owner is local. He owns this location, the one close to campus and soon will open one in Nicholasville. I love that SB is Yelp friendly. Last week, they closed the restaurant and hosted a group of Yelpers to a smorgasbord of their sides and burgers. While some people who weren't part of the event were turned away, the owner was very gracious and gave them coupons.

Always go with the create your own Smash Burger. I always get mine on the egg bun with cheddar cheese, pickles, Wild Turkey bourbon BBQ sauce, and haystack onions. Sooooooo good! They seem alot friendlier at this location. Don't get me wrong, the S. Upper locale is great & nice, but the Nicholasville staff seems to have more spunk / personality.

New location for the Smash Burger chain. The burgers are served hot and juicy and the portion size is sure to satisfy even the big eaters. My favorite is the haystack onions and their smash fries, which are done in olive oil with a touch of rosemary. Awesome.

Fresh, hot & delicious! This is one of the better burger places to go in town, and if you're not in the mood for beef you can choose crispy or grilled chicken, or go vegetarian and try the black bean burger. I've had the chance to sample a few different burgers, so here are my recommendations: The Classic Smash is a very juicy burger that you can't go wrong with; the Truffle Mushroom & Swiss is probably my favorite - it has a great flavor; and the Bluegrass Burger is fantastic with the Wild Turkey BBQ sauce and bacon. If you're feeling more adventurous, try the Spinach Cucumber Goat Cheese burger or the Avocado Club -- both of these are amazing! Complete your order with Smash Fries (garlic, rosemary and olive oil drizzle - yum!), or the buffalo fries if you want a little kick. Grab a KY Ale, a fountain Ale-8, or a delicious milkshake (Nutter Butter is my favorite!). However you decide to design your meal, you are going to really love this place. Give it a try!

I got the kids smash burger and sweet potato fries. What a nice surprise to see that you could switch to sweet potato instead of the standard fries The service was quick and friendly. Free wifi is always a bonus. The dining room was clea clean as well. .

This is one of the Best Burgers in Lexington! Truffle burger " oh I dream of you" ! Gosh what a combo!! That topped off with salted caramel milkshake just put me to bed now! my stomach is sooooo happy. The Buffalo chicken sandwich with blue cheese was slap my face gooood!!!! Crispy sandwich juicy on the inside and that creamy melted blue cheese to top it off!! Ahhhhhh I feel better now!

Everything is high quality, from the food to the service. Everyone is friendly and makes sure you're completely happy. On one trip we had an order mishap (ordered a burger, received a salad) and the manager came over and apologized and gave us a $5 coupon for our trouble (which wasn't really any trouble at all, we got a new burger pretty quickly). I love all of the sides and have a hard time picking just one or two to munch on. The burgers are great, and on my most recent trip I tried the chicken/avocado/bacon burger that was really great. And the Nutter Butter milkshake is amazing. It's a solid fast casual chain.

Although the patties are a little small, Smashburger makes it up in taste. Smashburger provides some excellent choices for your burger as well as sides such as fried pickles and fries with rosemary. Great place to eat.

Good food but bad service. I'd much rather go to the one by campus. You do feel like a guest but more trouble than anything else. Very much a fast food feel.

Decent hamburger, Rosemary fries were a bit too oily, had a chocolate shake took a very long time it was good but if you compare to cookout it's twice the price of cookout and you get almost twice as much at cookout too. And if you are handicapped in a wheel chair or using a walker STAY AWAY FROM HERE no handicap parking except I saw one spot in front of Verizon it's ridiculous to not have handicap parking and the wheel chair ramp was at the end of smash burger absolutely unacceptable for a wheelchair and today I was using a walker and I had to make a pretty steep step up to get onto the sidewalk. Unsafe!

Stopped by for lunch while visiting the Lexington area. Excellent burger selection. Friendly, quick service. The fries are excellent, but a bit salty. The fried pickles are very good. The rosemary fries are tasty but would be better without the olive oil. The burgers are well cooked and seasoned, and the buns have an interesting taste. Overall, would recommend.

Smash Burger is good, however it seems to me a little bit confused about what really makes a great burger. I'm not a chef or anything, and I will continue to eat there but it's not at the top of my list.

Got a free drink for going in for the first time and used a "buy 1, get 1 free" and a "$2 off" coupon so my husband's meal of two burgers, fries, onion rings, & 1 drink came out to $8!! sweet! The burgers were pretty good. I would say equally as good as any red robin burger. The fries and onions rings were thin so if you're a crispy-fry type of person you'll love them. My favorite part about this place was that it didn't seem like a fast-food restaurant at all but you still don't have waiters so no tipping!! Also my husband realized that different Smashburgers in different cities have special burgers. Back at home in San Diego we have a "San Diego burger" and here in Kentucky there is a "bluegrass burger". Kinda cute!

My boyfriend and I will come here when we have a buy one get one coupon, because we think it's too expensive for what you get without it. You order at the front, and they bring your food to you. I've order the spicy baja, which I thought was delicious, very juicy and pretty spicy. I've also ordered the club chicken sandwhich that was a disappointment. The chicken patty itself was thin and pretty dry. One thing I really am annoyed by at this place is that they serve their burger in this metal chain link fence like dish, which they put a piece of paper over, and then your burger. It is very hard to eat to and try to keep everything tidy in the dish. You always feel like your is spilling on the table. Overall, decent burger, bit overpriced. Chicken isn't so good.

I was disappointed. Service was good, and the facility was clean. As far as the food goes....the fries were over-oiled and the burger wasn't as big as I would have hoped for the price. I will not likely go back...although admittedly I have friends that will disagree with this post.
