Alright, I know that this review isn't popular given all of the 5 stars for this place. However, I waited until I went twice before forming an opinion. If it were just after the first time, the rating would be lower :/ Anyway, the first time the service was great but I was just not a fan of the food. I had a burger and sweet potato fries. I must say the burger was not my thing. The sweet potato fries were so bad that i asked for them to take them back and get me chips. I'm not sure about everyone else, but i like my sweet potato fries crispy and these just seemed thick and chewy... My second visit was better. I ordered the chicken fingers and regular fries. That's my go to meal when im scared people will mess stuff up..lol anyway, it was great! The fries were nicely done and the fresh chicken fingers were some of the best ive had. So i will definitely be back for them :)

A small place that is pretty cool. Enter from sidewalk and there are a few lower eating table on either side. About 10 feet in, the bar is on the left. Directly across from the bar are a few 2 person high too tables. Red is the dominant color, but the walls are covered with all kinds of pictures, drawings, and signs. The bar top is an older wooden surface with a classic rail. Bar face is mainly stickered. 4-5 padded stools with back support. Behind the bar is a wreck. One half contains the kitchen and of the cook burns or creates smoke, the entire bar will know it. A couple TVs that were surprising tuned to sports. Surprising since the sidebar looks more anti-organized anything. Fun crowd and good service.

It was good enough. The black bean burger and BBQ sandwich satisfied us, but it wouldn't be enough to bring us back. They have a very unique decor and overall the service was good. If you find yourself nearby then it's worth a try.

Great burger and great sweet potato fries! The price is cheap and it's about the right portion. Don't open on Sunday night though. Always craving for their burgers on Sunday. Don't know why....

Small, but good bar food/ pub fair. Burgers are their specialty. Waitress was friendly. Clientele is mostly the artsy hipster crowd, many of whom will be sitting on the sidewalk smoking and drinking 'alfresco' style.

Cool little place. Great burger and the fried pickles were excellent (hand breaded!).

I love the decor and the cool photographs on the wall, it's a small but good menu, and they play good punk music. My chicken salad sandwich was the bomb, good beer selection, super cool vibes.

One of the best places to eat in lexington. Super vegetarian friendly and their sweet potato fries are amazing. They are a good bar to go for inexpensive drinks but not if you're looking for a large tap selection.

Love the people, love the atmosphere and sidebar is one of 3 bars to venture out to in this town

Love this hole in the wall bar. Great food , booze, and service. Sweet potatoe fries are to die for. Must stop by when in the area.

Finally a place that puts some seasoning on their burgers!!! Man what a great burger. I actually ordered another one after I finished my first one. Great hole in the wall. I would recommend it to anyone.

This place had a lot of interesting posters on the wall. It was really small but we didn't feel crowded. The food was great. I had the cheese burger. I will go back.

Not impressed. Left 40 minutes after ordering food. It was a no show. Monday night. Waiter apologized but still charged us for our cokes.

Great burgers. Interesting beers (but limited selection). Small but cool little place.

Some of my favorite food in Lexington. Limited bar, but they try hard with seasonal beers. Sweet potato fries are a must.

I ordered a cheese burger medium but there was no pink at all. It was REALLY good though. They grilled the bun, used baby greens and the tomato was incredible. Overall, I was really impressed with the food considering the bar setting. The music was a bit loud for dinner conversation though. Everyone was incredibly nice as well. I'll definitely be eating here again.

On the upside the service was great and the food didn't take to long to get to me. On the downside the burger was very bland it was almost as if no seasoning went into. The sweet potato fries I ordered weren't cooked all the way and I ended up not even finishing them.

They have the best black bean burgers I've ever tried. Service is pretty good, except a little slow.

I was in town on business and didn't think I would find much in the way of great eats but I was so happy with Sidebar Grill! Quaint, no BS and a good vibe.

Very solid burgers, excellent french fries and sweet potato fries. One of the better burgers in all of Lexington.

Very cool hole in the way, no joke the boys room has a Glory hole!! Its fake and a joke and funny to me! I have a pics I should put up. Fan of the Black Bean Burger!! Not many places to get one. Very cool little find

stopped by the Sidebar Grill while traveling from Florida to Michigan. With the help of Yelp we found this place. My family enjoyed all of the meals that were ordered. Only good things to say about this visit.

This place is an awesome lil gem, Decorated with vintage/music decor. Me and my boyfriend were trying to find something that me as a veggie and him as a meat eater could both enjoy without spending too much. Sidebar definitely hit the spot! I had the portobello sandwich with homemade dill potato chips and he had the BBQ pork sandwich with homemade fries. Both our meals were absolutely perfect, he even stated that it was the best pork sandwich he's ever had. Also there was more than 4+ things for me to eat besides just salad, which is exciting for a vegetarian :) server was so nice. overall I love this place and can't wait to visit again !! A must of looking for an awesome bar that happens to have wonderful food.

Nice place for a quick bite, couple brews. Had the steak sandwich, au jus was great. Fresh potato chips are a must order!

Was in town for work, and wanted some really good pub grub. This place did not disappoint. The chips were pretty good, but the chili was so good. I wish I had ordered a double helping of it. I swear there is an addictive chemical in it that makes you crave it. I am now back in LA and I am still craving their chili.
(5)Mary M.
Great atmosphere and great food. Loved the barbecue pork sandwich with house made chips. Dining companion had the portobello mushroom sandwich with fries and that was good, too. We will definitely visit again.

I need to update my review... I used to come here very often... but have been venturing to other places in Lexington I have never tried... but my fiance and I came back here about a week and a half ago... it had been about six months since our last visit and it was awesome... We had the burger special, a half pound with cheese, mushrooms, onions, tomato, and a spring mix of greens... not just boring ol' romaine or ice burg lettuce... I love it... their sweet potato fries are the best in Lexington, and their food really taste like they love making it... I love their food and drink prices... two meals and six drinks (we did go during happy hour) for around $35... hell yeah... I love the decor and how cozy it is, plus the mixture of people never makes me feel out of place... It is totally hip... Love it!

Best hamburger and house-made chips in town. Very small so it gets crowded fast. Excellent service usually as well.
(5)Tracy C.
Great burgers, sweet potato fries...my husband loves the beef & Brie sandwich. Friendly service, good music, beer on tap & interesting artwork on the walls :)
