Finally tried this place after years of gushing recommendations from friends who found it shocking that I had never been here in my 7 years of living in the US. Needless to say, I had high expectations. The service was great - no doubt about it. Everyone was courteous and attentive. Our waiter even miraculously popped out each time one of us started in for a soup refill and ladled a new bowl of soup for us. He was so good it was almost creepy. Service aside, the food was hit or miss. Mostly miss. We started with the lettuce wraps which were great, would order again. Then we had the hot and sour soup. In general, there are two dishes that I consider true markers of whether or not a restaurant can make great Chinese/Taiwanese food. Those are hot and sour soup and kung pao chicken. Both of these dishes have unique flavors that are difficult to get just right, and in fact, the reason why I use them as markers for the quality of a restaurant's food is because I've come across so few places that can make them right. Anyway, the hot and sour soup was a huge disappointment. A total miss. I have never had hot and sour soup that was made off of a base of soy sauce. Actually, that was pretty much all it was. We were straight up drinking soy sauce from the bowl. It was soooo salty we could barely choke down more than a bowl each. Being asian, however, I hate to waste, so we grudgingly brought home the leftovers and continued to choke it down for lunch the next day. The other two dishes we ordered were the mongolian beef and the "ma po tofu." The mongolian beef had a nice texture but again, it was overly salty. What is it with Americans and eating a ton of sodium? Now, I say we ordered the "ma po tofu" but I put this in quotations because when the dish came, I was certain they had brought us the wrong order. I even flagged down the waiter and double checked but he confirmed that the fried tofu ringed with broccoli was indeed the "ma po tofu." I have NEVER seen ma po tofu interpreted this way. In fact, there really is very little room for interpretation with ma po tofu. Ma po tofu has always been the same dish no matter when and where I have it - soupy, spicy, diced up soft tofu with scallions and SANS broccoli. Once I got over the fact that this was simply not ma po tofu like I have always known it, I accepted the idea of having ordered a fried tofu dish. The problem with the fried tofu, however, was that it was not crispy on the outside. So it was ma po tofu that was neither crispy nor soupy... and just kind of fail all around. The broccoli (and anyone who knows me knows I love asian cooked broccoli) was super salty... surprise surprise. The last disappointment of the night was the steamed rice. Instead of using nice, sticky, delicious asian rice, the rice they served at PF Chang's was hard and dry. Good rice is a must for Chinese restaurants as well. On the plus side, my boyfriend spoke very highly of their mixed drinks - I think he had a mojito and some sort of ginger beer (?) drink. For more authentic Chinese food (and actually, the only decent Chinese food in Lexington I've had so far), try Panda Cuisine on Nicholasville, across from Panera.

Service is always on point with this chain. This day we set at the bar for some soup ( Egg Drop ) yum and Split a meal. Candy walnut Shrimp!! So good but I'm sure no way good for you.

Maybe I had a bad experience here but everything I had whether it be the appetizer, my meal or my friend's meal was so salty it wasn't enjoyable. Can't say I would recommend this based on my experience but hopefully it was an isolated experience.

Never a disappointment at the Changs. The atmosphere is one if the best in town and the food us just as good. I've tried something different everytime and like it all. The lettuce wraps are a great appetizer. The price is not the cheapest, but worth it in my opinion. I would recommend this for a date night or special occasion. Remember to think about reservations because it can fill up quickly.

I love the big bowl of Wonton Soup! We also ordered the Crab Rangoons (my favorite), and the Shrimp with Candied Walnuts. The food was delicious as usual and we enjoyed 10% off because I have a Warrior Card (you can get it on their website by signing up for e-mails).

Hope you have time to spare when you visit this place. Just finished dinner to celebrate a birthday (on a Monday night), the entire process took over 2:20 ! Service was good but slow. Took over an hour just to get the food. The food however was excellent. I too am a fan of their large bowl of Wonton Soup, and their sea bass dish is awesome. Overall pleasurable dinning experience if one is not on a time schedule.

Coming from Southern California to Kentucky, I was born and raised on going here. Ultimately, this is probably the best place to get Chinese food; although, it can be pricey. Soups are good and the meal is glazed to perfection.

Despite being attached to the mall, the interior decor of the restaurant reflected a nice ambiance that made for a romantic evening. We enjoyed the lettuce wraps, which is the same comment we hear from other friends who've visited. I ordered Chang's Chicken Noodle soup, which has a touch of spice with tomatoes and mushrooms. It's a great take on an American staple and worth the meager price. My wife ordered the shrimp lo mein, which was also delicious. We finished it off with the chocolate cake which was rich and left us smiling. Great service made this a definite 5 star spot!

This PF Changs confusses me. Being connected to the mall you would think they would have a bartender in the bar on the weekends around 4:00 but the last couple of times we stop in there was no one to be found even after telling someone who appeared to be the manager who was very friendly that we just needed a cocktail after shopping and then when the bartender did appear they kept disappearing again hummm not the way to make to good tip. Overall the food was just as good as another location.

Hate the location in the mall but love the calamari.

It's a PF Changs ... the same as any other. I only stopped in because I needed a drink after experimenting with the public transportation system in Lexington (should review that as well). I did order some pork dumplings (I ordered the shrimp dumplings but they were out) that had almost no flavor. The only reason that I gave a three star rating was because the service was excellent. Courtney was a great bartender she went out of her way to make me feel at home

So freaking tasty. My wife and I really enjoy their Chengdu Spiced Lamb and the Wok Seared Lamb. Their hot teas and ginger beer were also super amazing. We also got free lettuce wraps on this trip just because they had an extra and liked us!

P.F. Changs is a pretty good restaurant despite their Asian fusion. The only thing I don't particularly like is the fact that the waiting times can be a little lengthy. But aside from that, it's a great family restaurant. 4/5 stars.

Great Food and best service I have had yet in Lexington. I travel all over the US for work and of course this leads to the need for eating out. Friendly caring and expeditious service here. Always makes food taste better too. Keep up the good work and my special thanks to the management staff for a great dining experience.

I'm a huge fan of this place. There are a ton of great menu items to choose from. People tend to knock chains. I do too except for when a chain is executed properly. My food was excellent and served in a timely manner. My server was very kind and courteous. The location has plenty of parking being that it is connected to Fayette Mall. I definitely will eat here again.

u definitely can find a better place with better price than pf changs in lexington. As a chinese, it is fine that the food is not authentic but it does matter a lot that the food is aweful. we ordered sesame chicken, wanton soup, egg rolls. To be honest, the egg rolls are the worst among every Asian resturant I have ever tried and Also the most expensive one. it is over saulty. the pork in it feels disgusting and it feels not fully done. oh the sauce is aweful too. feels like the sauce is that you get from mcdonald. the sesame chicken was good until my boyfriend had one that was not fully done. imagining you had raw chicken meat when you ate. yeah, it is that aweful. I ordered a large bowl of wanton, the waiter told me it would be 'huge'. However when I saw it, dude, in China the soup bowl is triple that size. whats worse, only 5 wantons in it. thankfully I am a tiny girl. last but not least, the waiter seemed to disappear. oh the music is aweful too.

Service was slow. Upchare for subbing a salad for rice....ridiculous! And then the entree really wasn't that good. It was ok, but there are other places to spend my restaurant $$.

I'm usually not a fan of Chinesse food but I've always been satisified with each thing I've ordered here. I recently found my favorite...Buddha's Feast stir Fry. It's an excellent filling dish if you're watching calories. Rice is unlimited...not good it you're watching your calories though.

The atmosphere was nice. Really liked the lighting and decor. Food was at an above average price but good quality. My only real issue was that the music was too loud and it was hard to have a conversation. If they could fix the volume it would be an ideal date dinner spot.

Yes, PF Chang's is a chain restaurant, but the quality of food and service is always very good. I like the options that are available, and having been to Xian China I always enjoy seeing the copies of the terra cotta warriors. My only complaint is that they took my favorite lamb dishes off of the menu. I think they may have even taken wok seared beef off of the menu, but I'm not sure about that. My vegan wife also likes eating at PF Chang's because they have options that fit with her diet. They also have a full bar, and if seating isn't available in the main dining room, you can sit at the bar and eat. Reservations are usually a good idea. I'm definitely a fan.

Asian fusion food at a reasonable price. Relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. Many gluten free options available. Waiting times can be long on weekends but the bar area offers quick seating without any falter in service. The bar is always stocked and the knowledgeable bartenders are very friendly and helpful.

Consistency is the name of their game. If you want delicious, hot, fresh food every time with exceptional service, P.F Chang's is the place for you. Come during Happy Hour and don't worry, come casual and relax. Great place to bring a client for a business lunch, or bring the whole family for dinner. This Lexington location is top notch. Bring your appetite and yes you don't always have to share. :)

BOOM! The dynamite shrimp is smoking good! I am not a big fan of spicy food, and this is just about as spicy as I will go. It's listed as an appetizer, but I usually have it as an entrée along with some egg drop or wonton soup. The service is always great, and the restaurant decor is pretty grand. I also enjoy their chicken lo mein, but the last time that I had it I was disappointed. I could have had the same dish in a Chinese takeout place for a lot less money (if I actually had to pay for my dinner...)! PF Chang's encourages sharing, but who are we kidding? The big serving sizes just encourages pigging out.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
