Warm, rustic, and classic for donuts and coffee. I like that they have lots of flavors and different milk options! Wonderful staff, original flavored donuts, free WiFi. Definitely recommend it!

This screams hipster, and I'm not a huge fan of that, but I put aside my predispositions and still enjoyed this place anyways. This place is the modern Spalding's. There's wi-fi, seating, and you can pay with something other than cash. This place also boasts impressive coffee and some delicious donuts, which are close enough to be in Spalding's league. I had the original glazed and a Bourbon Caramel special. Both were out of this world. The original was so buttery. I could feel the obesity growing inside of me. In addition, the prices were fair. There was ample seating, inside and out. Despite this, the place was packed and the line was out the door, but I see why. I'd come back here.

Unique amazing donuts! I really liked the outdoor seating. Staff was very friendly. My jeans were sprinkled with white powder from the funnel cake donut Mmmmmm!

North line is a quaint little shop off limestone and 6th St. Their glazed donuts are good although I still personally prefer Spaldings' glazed myself. What they differ from is in their specialty donuts. There are some neat and strange, but tastes concoctions. The maple pecan is good and I do want to catch them on a day when maple Bacon is their donut of the day. As I mentioned in the tip, you need to call ahead for 3 dozen or more donuts. This location is smaller than the new one on Clays Mill Rd. They don't have the capacity for it so they have to preprarw ahead. I'm not a coffee drinker so I cannot comment on the drinks. It does smell good though!

You guys. Yes. This place is all of the hipster trendy Indy doughnut places rolled into one cute affordable little package. The donuts were fantastic and prices even better. We ordered a dozen craft donuts (key lime long john ftw), two coffees, and two specialty drinks. We split the price two ways and it was a mere $13something per person. Cute shop in a cute neighborhood. Don't miss this place if you're visiting Lexington.

I've always been a fan of doughnuts, or so I thought. Doughnut are whole different item in Lexington, and they'll have to get into a new sub-category (i.e. categories: plain doughnuts, Krispy Kremes, Lexington Doughnuts). North Lime's classic Lexington doughnut style is so good. I also enjoy there specialty doughnuts (fruity loops, maple bacon, funnel cake), which is impressive as other non-glazed doughnuts usually have a convenience store quality to them at other shops. T The atmosphere is great (very "hip" as other reviewers have noted). I only wish the hours were a little longer. While they are extended for a normal doughnut shop, it is an awful tease for those of us that work the 8-5.

Small and sweet review for a small and sweet place. :) After the suggestion of some local Yelpers, I visited North Lime recently. The building itself charmed my artsy-coffeehouse-loving heart, complete with coffeehouse shirts, mugs, & coffee for purchase. I kind of fell in love with the ecclectic mix of owls and art on the walls, and the chalkboard with the Yoda 'quote' --- "Do or Donut" -- and the characterized tip jars amused me. They like to have fun here. This place is clearly popular -- every small table was occupied (not that there were many tables anyway) and the line nearly went out the door. Thankfully, they were quick. The menu is simple -- donuts, coffee, espresso, and tea. The Chai tea latte I ordered was pretty great. Probably the best indie Chai ever. The donuts, however,.... didn't impress me. They were just normal donuts to me. I had the glazed donut -- it WAS good, and I loved the square shape, but I don't know if I'd go out of my way to come here again for the donuts based on that one flavor. I am, however, interested in coming back and trying other donut creations. I also liked the presentation on the counter of the different type of donuts they had. Also, North Lime's location is a bit iffy. I'd stay away during off-hours. OK, now that I'm sitting here thinking about the donuts, I kind of want one. Right now. *Drool.* I guess they must be doing something right.

Awesome place to come a continental breakfast. None of the offerings have any nutritional value. Just what I look for in my menu selections.

Cute little donut shop located off the slightly beaten path not too far from downtown Lexington. It'll remind you of the best things about your favorite coffee shop and unlike a lot of places that sell baked goods, you see people running around in aprons with flour on them. It's a lot like the old Dunkin Donuts commercials where the guy gets up early and says "time to make the donuts" except this isn't a chain. I showed up mostly for their gluten-free donut that they mentioned they were making and I decided to check it out (and to be a team player and get donuts for my whole office) and was pretty pleased by the whole deal. Gluten-free donut was pretty good, I imagine they'll refine the recipe too as they go on and it'll get even better..but certainly an extremely solid first attempt to boot. Quality donuts and good service. Totally worth it. Oh, my coworkers said the regular donuts are pretty ace too. So you know, the empty box that started with a dozen is a pretty big endorsement.

When going on a road trip, I seek out three things: coffee, beer and donuts. North Lime had two of the three, so I knew it would be on my hit list. I walked over from where I was staying on a Saturday AM and the line was out the door. My fun sized traveling companion (nine year old 'niece') was speechless; and that's a rare occurrence. I have learned to appreciate when a shop has a small menu, as long as they do what they do and they do it well. North Lime does it well! With seven people in the house and no idea what people wanted (and donut fans have very specific wants) we got a little bit of everything to take back to the house: Glazed, Chocolate Iced, Funnel Cake, Cinnamon Sugar, CinnaMonkey. AND their two specials for the month: Blackberry Lemonade and Chocolate Chip Cookie Butter. Needless to say we were noshing on donuts alllllll day. My personal fave was the Choc Chip Cookie Butter, but I don't think their was one disappointed set of taste buds in the house. When my friends learned they lived two blocks away the entire time they were in Lexington, their waistlines were very glad I had not paid them a visit sooner. I enjoyed my iced coffee on our walk back and my companion loved her hot chocolate with whipped cream too. Love my Yelp discoveries!

The donuts were great and huge! I tried the chocolate glaze (which is a square instead of the classic round), and the cinnamon one which is like a pull apart muffin. The maple bacon one was also yum. The coffee was good but nothing amazing. You go for the donuts not the coffee. Apparently there is always a line and the donuts go fast.

So, I had a bit of the post-election blues and went in search of a comfort donut. I found it at North Lime Coffee & Donuts. The exterior of the building is super cute. I love the signage and the owls. The interior also looks like a cozy spot to hang out and study or write. I noticed on their Facebook page that they were out of maple today, so they were having chocolate bacon donuts today only. That sold me. I came in and ordered a small coffee and chocolate bacon donut to go. I'm generally not a cake donut fan, I like the light airy donuts. But, when I got to work, I sunk my teeth into that thing and it was like the most delicious piece of chocolate cake ever - with bacon on top. It sure did cure my post-election blues. Coffee was good and strong - perked me right up. I will say that I probably wouldn't go back alone again. The neighborhood is kind of sketchy and I'm not usually one to worry about that sort of thing. But, I had on a dress for work and got yelled at a lot from residents and a dog growled at me on the way to my car. Next time, I'll go with a friend. :-)

Wow, you guys. Just wow! This is my new donut spot! So dense, so delicious! I've traveled extensively and nowhere have I tasted donuts as good. My favorite is the maple/bacon. Holy Cow! It sounds odd, but I swear, it's better than pancakes with syrup covered bacon. The only thing they could do better is extract the calories. I'm still a huge fan.

Location of guilty pleasures, i.e. stuffing my face with fluffy and glazed deliciousness. Washing it down with a delicious latte ( or a cappuccino) seals the deal for me. This is also the place for a donut lover who wants something unique. They always have 4-5 different flavored donuts including cinnamon sugar, funnel cake and cinnamonkey on a regular basis and a daily special (check out their website). Their flavored donuts are cake donuts and I'm not a big fan of cake donuts but the few I tried tasted good. So I usually keep it simple with a glazed yeast donut. Are they the absolute best?? I don't think anyone can beat an old town favorite (Spalding's) but North Lime's donuts are pretty damn close and good customer service makes them even more appealing. If they had more variety of yeast donuts (may be a maple glazed bacon topped donut?) , this would definitely be a 5-star location.

  • Jess F.

I like to think I'm a bit of a donut connoisseur. I love them. LOVE them. North Lime is up there with my all time favorite donuts, and they are by far the best in Lexington. Their daily special donuts have never disappointed, but what really shines for me is the plain glazed. They're pretty dense and a little chewy and just a bit of heaven in my mouth! The glaze is perfect as is the friedness. They're not at all greasy. Also great is their apple fritter. Beware of a long line. I usually only have time to go on the weekends, and there's often a line out the door. THEY'RE WORTH IT.

Fantastic Donuts! Exceptional Coffee. Amazing Honey! Bourbon Honey. Habanero Honey. Whipped Cinnamon Honey. Whipped Peanut Butter Honey.

Can you say, "Yum?" I sure can. North Lime Coffee and Donuts is wonderful. Not only are the donuts and barista-crafted drinks great, but they're also helping to revitalize a neighborhood that is considered less than ideal. Love this place..

Nice find! Well spaldings was closed on Monday so, checked yelp & here it was. The doughnuts were good, kind of fancy with shaved almonds and such. The bold Americana coffee was great. I shall return!

Why 5 stars? Because apparently Lexington is known for its donuts. --- --- --- During my first trip to Lexington, I visited Spaldings, and thought I would be hooked for life. But my last visit wasnt quite as epic as the first one, so I gave North Lime a try. Totally apples to oranges... or old school donuts :to: new school donuts you could say. Spalding's is very basic, and almost has an amish vibe to it. North Lime is super modern, with all kinds of crazy donut varieties. It's a total hipster joint, and I absolutely love it. I normally don't compare businesses so much, but it seems that these two are top dogs for donuts in Lexington. I honestly love them both in such totally different ways.

  • Jacob S.

Fabulous donuts that are refreshingly unique, coffee with just the right strength and a variety of choices for both. The dreamboat behind the counter, Aaron, was courteous and friendly. He helped my wife and I settle in with my children. The setting is cozy and a perfect size. It's also in an easily accessible location away from most traffic. Great place, friendly staff and delicious donuts. Try the pulled pork donuts if available.

  • Jackie W.

Everything was sooooo good! Coffee was great! All the donuts were wonderful! Loved the pb&j donut. I wish they wouldn't put small orders in bags. When I got home all my beautiful donuts icing were stuck to the bag and not on my donut :( Other than that everything was great. Staff was friendly and very helpful!

Awesome atmosphere and great service. The donuts are delicious especially the glazed!! Try the coffee it's delicious.

  • Kim C.

I am not a hipster -- I am far too old and jaded for that. With that said, this place is absolutely worthy of all the hipster raves. The doughnuts are lovely and fresh, the coffee tasty, and the restroom sports a cross-stitch nod to a piece of Lexington urban history/legend. Unlike other reviewers, I have never had bad service here, and have been a semi- regular customer for the past two years. Oh, and the urban legend? If you don't get it, you're obviously not as hip as you think you are.

One of my favorite places to get espresso just happens to be in my home town. Try the Crissa or Cortado, and be sure to have it with a glazed donut. Awesome, friendly staff as well. They even invited me behind the counter to make my own espresso :)

  • Gerri F.

I went here to get some donuts for the family for a morning treat. Its one of those that if you blink you miss it. I found it to be a bit dark & dreary looking. The donuts were fresh but expensive. Lots of flavors to choice from as well different kinds of coffee & drinks. We got a mixture of donuts and even thou the donuts were good. I think I would wether go to Dunkin Donuts, or Krispy Creme or try another Donut & Coffee shop.

Wonderful, locally-roasted coffee and delicious donuts at affordable prices. The people working were fantastically friendly and obviously very passionate about their craft. Highly recommend!

Best donut shop in town. I've been to North Lime more times than I can count. Really creative donuts and a fun environment with good coffee as well. Absolutely love going to North Lime.

Love this spot. I actually come here sometimes when I'm waiting on my daughter to get out of school... Staff is very friendly!!! I LOVE the picture menu!!! It gives details on exactly what is in what!!! That makes me happy, and I like being happy! Coffee is good too. I would tell you about the donuts, but I haven't had any, but they smell good though :D I also like the artsy feel to the place. Makes it pretty comfy here!!! I'm still a beginner coffee drinker so what do I know?!?!

Sadly I am getting the feeling that Lexington is not up to par with much of the rest of the country when it comes to donuts.

Great fresh made donuts that will wow any of your out of town friends. Clever mixtures that will undeniably rock your tastebuds.

  • Connor E.

They make specialty donuts. You won't be able to find crazier donut ideas anywhere else in the city. They made zombie donuts for the season premiere of The Walking Dead. The donuts looked like zombie heads that oozed jelly when you bit into them. The staff is friendly. The donuts are delicious. The prices are affordable. It's a must on the way to church each Sunday. Plus, they make a French toast donut that they stuff with cream cheese. What more do you want?

  • Jason T.

Words cannot describe the pumpkin cheesecake doughnut they had when I was there. It had this most intense pumpkin-y flavor, and a texture I can only describe as "foodgasm inducing". Seriously all of the doughnuts I tried were the greatest I've ever had in my life. Coffee was off the charts too. Perfectly extracted - intensely flavored but not bitter at all. If I didn't have to like, have a paying job and be a functioning part of society, I'd just move to Lexington and eat doughnuts and drink coffee at North Lime every day.

  • Ashley M.

Best Donuts in town! Friendly staff, clean eating area and great local art to look at while relaxing. Donut offerings change daily and if kids are with you, order a hot chocolate with whip :) lots of great coffee & tea offerings to choose from.

  • Megan P.

Oh my gosh! The best and most unique offering of handmade donuts and freshly roasted coffee from Nate'sCoffee. This place is a must visit on the north side. No worries if you are in south Lexington, they have a 2nd location off clays mills.

  • Richard J.

Great coffee, and French toast doughnut. Drove in from Greenville, SC. Had a 4 shot Americano. I would highly recommend this spot. On a side note, I wanted the peanut butter doughnut, but they all had sprinkles. That is a weird combo--peanut butter and sprinkles.

    (4)
  • Jenn K.

We had a cake donut and a chocolate glazed donut. Definitely LOVE the donuts. The coffee on the other hand not so much. Small area to sit inside however there is seating outside both in front and behind the shop.

  • Robert K.

Yum and yum! Stopped her on the way out of town and can see how a long line can form easily. So, do your part and don't dilly-dally when it is your turn to order. If you like eclectic donuts and good coffee, this place is a no-brainer. Renew your hipster membership card and stop on by.

Our experience at North Lime was excellent. The donuts were delicious, coffee was great, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We decided (rather late) that we wanted to have their donuts as a favor at our wedding, and the owner, Heidi, was incredibly gracious in meeting with us at the last minute. She was so responsive and we had everything set up within 24 hours of meeting her initially. Love this place!

  • B G.

IMHO overpriced and did not live up to the hype. The chocolate covered strawberry doughnut was good. The chocolate covered glazed doughnut was just way too much sugar. The coffee left a lot to be desired.

    (2)
  • Megan M.

I wish I wasn't watching my sugar intake because everytime I come to North Lime I want to eat all the donuts - they are amazing! The coffee is great as well. Interestingly they make this savory donut grilled cheese that is AWESOME. Get the pimento cheese. Like soon.

My initial review mentioned somewhat sub-par service but great donuts. After the initial growing pains of opening and sustaining a small business, it seems that these folks have completely figured it out. Their staple donuts - glazed and chocolate - somehow go to another level than any other donut purveyor in the city. Also, many of their specialty donuts are delicious - they appear on special occasions and the more popular ones come back monthly and weekly. The folks running the social media outlets are excellent with getting the word out about their daily specials, as well as making everyone's mouth water with good pictures of their confections. The coffee is local and good, and the vibe in the small dining room is always inviting and never snooty. The service is sometimes slow - but only when the crowds are huge - especially on the weekends. It's worth the wait. Trust me.

Im here on business from Tampa and decided to drop in here instead of the usual business trip breakfast spot and im so glad i did. Loved the coffee and donuts. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere and free wifi. Great morning. Even had to grab some to go so my family could try them.

As far as donut's go...this is the place! Always have fun, interesting donut options on the menu, like maple bacon or lucky charms. I personally am a good ol' fashion glazed kind of gal. Staff is always friendly and quick! The place is small and can get packed quickly.

Do you like donuts? Do you like bacon? Then you will love this delicious ridiculousness. It's a lil pricey but it's worth it.

  • Angie C.

Delicious donuts! The regular glazed are my go-to: light and fluffy on the inside, but fried to crisp perfection on the outside. The baristas and cashiers are also lovely people. I have never once had bad service here. It makes a weekend coffee and donut run that much more enjoyable :) Great job North Lime! You have a fan for life.

  • Jesse R.

Absolutely amazing local doughnuts and coffee. What more could someone ask for? The vibe is a touch more hip than I might be able to swing, but I don't care. When they have it, snag the Maple Bacon!

I've always considered donuts to be the pornography of baked goods - everyone has an underlying craving for one now and again, but few will readily admit partaking in its enjoyment. I've never been ashamed of engorging on a donut or three, and thus, I usually attempt to seek out a purveyor of these delicious fried cakes of goodness in every city that I visit. That being said, I was recently in Lexington to visit family and was advised to try either Spalding's Bakery or North Lime - after discovering that Spalding's is still operating in the dark ages and only accepts cash, I headed to North Lime. In the end, it was worth the added time and effort - the donuts are utterly delightful. Food: North Lime offers five donuts on a daily basis (plain glazed, chocolate iced, cinnamon sugar, funnel cake, and cinnamonkeys), as well as a rotating assortment of daily specials. During my visit, the specials were pink lemonade and an apple fritter. We ended up ordering one of each to bring back to the group - the general consensus was that all the donuts were generously sized and nicely flavored, but the standouts were the pink lemonade and the chocolate iced. In addition to donuts, they also serve locally roasted coffee and other specialty drinks. Service: All orders are placed at the left side of the counter and orders are picked up on the right side once they've been prepared. The staff were all reasonably friendly, but I will echo the sentiments of another reviewer who mentioned that the staff treat their regulars differently than the rest of the patrons. Although not surprising for a locally-owned business, it was still somewhat off-putting. Atmosphere: This place is located in an older home that has been renovated into a storefront. The interior isn't particularly impressive, but it fits with the place's overall casual and quirky vibe. One complaint that I do have is the packaging that they use for larger doughnut orders, which is essentially a large white pizza box. I can't imagine that investing in some pastry boxes would drive up costs that dramatically. Cost: Donuts vary in price, but are generally $1-$2 each - the specialty flavors are all on the pricier end of the spectrum. Coffee drinks are all priced in accordance with what you'd expect to pay elsewhere for similar offerings. Other: North Lime is located in the North Limestone Neighborhood (thus the name) at the corner of North Limestone and East 6th Streets. Free parking is available along either street, as well as in the non-paved parking lot along the back of the property. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 6AM-5PM, and Saturday, 7AM-6PM, and Sunday 8AM-1PM. Bulk donut and coffee orders are available with advance notice.

Best donut I've ever had! Plus, part of the proceeds went right back to the neighborhood.

AHHHHH-MAZING! I don't want to fawn over a coffee spot but when it's good, it's good...right? EXCELLENT service - even during the (many) rush hours of the day. Coffee is always blended to perfection. Lots of choices for those of us that aren't typical (i.e. they have ALMOND MILK y'all!). Can we just talk about the donuts? Ahhhhh. I can't. They are just simply amazing. And fresh. And unique. Love you guys, NoLime!!!!!

  • Mary S.

I was visiting from out of town, and went to Starbucks to get my coffee (somewhere j know I can get soy milk) before stumbling upon this place. When I walked in, I realized I had made a mistake not getting my coffee here. The coffee menu was very detailed and even included illustrations depicting how the "ingredients" were combined. They also have soy AND almond milk! The gentleman at the counter replaced my coffee for free so I can try what they had to offer, and I have to say, I was very impressed! Their maple pecan donut is out of this world good!

  • Emily B.

This place seems to be very hit or miss for me. My husband have come here 5 or 6 times and a couple of times, the donuts were great, and other times they were pretty mediocre. Their coffee is REALLY strong, but preference on that is going to vary by individual. Some of the staff is pretty cold (and one person was very rude), but many of the others are friendly and helpful. I do think their prices are too high for their specialty donuts as many of them are well over $2 each. Of their unchanging menu, I think their glazed is fine (but definitely not as good as Spaldings'), their funnel cake can be too dry some days, and their chocolate I really don't like at all. They've been good enough times that we'll probably continue to give them a try when they have interesting flavors (they post their daily flavors on Twitter and Facebook), but I'd be a little bit hesitant to recommend them to others unless I'd checked that day's offerings in advance.

My daughter attends UK and every time we visit North Limestone Donuts are an absolute must! My daughter says she's no longer sure if I am coming to visit her or just get NL donuts. Let me start by saying that I am an extremely health conscious individual...I watch my carbs like a hawk. HOWEVER, when I am within a block of here, all that literally goes out the window. These donuts are so good they will make you cry! First visit I end up taking a dozen home AS MY CARRY ON for the plane trip home. Didn't even make it onto the plane with them. Next visit ate 2 donuts (Double Dublin Chocolate Stout and Maple Bacone Blueberry Pancake...yes I remember their names like my children's) between NL and Doodles...look it up, it's about 4 blocks. Who does that? I do that, when the donuts are this good. I never have sweet mocha-y coffee drinks...except here! Had a Mocha Diablo...tears in my eyes so delicious! The wonderful people who work here are friendly, and never rush me when I am making my choices. Super funky vibe, out of this world donuts, fabulous coffee and coffee drinks...I have found Nirvana at NL! Thank you NLD!!!

Very good coffee! Why is that so hard to do? And yet so few places seem to be able to pull off a good cup of joe. They have coffee drinks too, for those of you who are incapable of enjoying a good cup of coffee on its own merit. I will reiterate what others have said, they make a darn fine chai latte. The doughnuts are amazing! I love a good cakey doughnut. Good taste, good texture, good size. The reasons this place didn't get 5 stars - small venue. When we went it wasn't terribly busy, and we just barely got a table. Not an issue if you're grabbing your coffee and doughnut on the go. - bit pricey. Not terribly though. We got 4 doughnuts, and 3 drinks for 14 bucks. - staff weren't the most helpful. They weren't rude or anything, just not helpful. - a bit out of the way All in all, it's a good place and you should give it a try.

I found myself in need of a couple dozen donuts on a Saturday morning...for a wedding party and not for myself, I might add. I had recently read a raving review about how awesome NL's glazed donuts are so I turned on handy gps, because even though NL is downtown, it is a bit off of the beaten path. I was able to find a parking spot in their lot off to the side of the building. I was a bit surprised that it is quite small, not very many tables or chairs. There was a local singer playing the guitar and harmonica and singing upbeat songs, it gave a nice vibe while I waited in line for about 5 minutes. I called ahead, but they said that it wasn't necessary for 2 dozen glazed donuts. The order came to $19.06, I gave her $25 asked for ones and she mumbled that she didn't have many ones...I mean really, what did she think I needed ones for?! The donuts were square and different sizes. Several people raved about them being good but I wasn't very impressed, next time I will try one from their specialty donuts. I did love the atmosphere of NL, so I'll try a weekday and hopefully find a seat...and next time, I'll bring ones.

  • Julia N.

The doughnut selection is relatively small, but the flavors they do have are amazing. My siblings and I shared one of each kind, and the doughnuts were all hits, no misses. The rotating flavors are always fun, but if crazy flavors aren't your thing, you can't go wrong with a basic glazed. The cashier was patient, helpful, and friendly. We got our food to go, but the seating area was inviting. I will be back... with my brother and board games.

Their donuts are awesome. The best thing about this place is you never know what they'll have next and they are always creating something new. Their specials are usually great. The french toast donut and maple bacon are two of my favorites thus far. On top of great donuts, the iced coffee is my favorite around. My only wish, they were open a bit later.

I love this place! Their donuts are amazing and the creativity alone is worth checking out what donut they are showcasing that day! The cafe area is great to sit and do work or catch up, very cozy. Friendly staff and cheery atmosphere!

I want to like this quirky, local little doughnut shop, but the truth is I've never had a good doughnut from there. The times I've eaten here, the doughnuts have been either stale, heavy, over-iced or just poorly thought-out. The coffee is excellent and the people are nice. I just wish they had good doughnuts.

  • Jason A.

This place is really great. Their coffee is locally roasted and tastes wonderful. I'm not sure what the deal is with their donuts, but they're amazing too. The thing that I liked most about this place was the atmosphere. It's very cozy and I found the style/decorating to be warm and inviting. In addition, the people working there were very pleasant. The couple of issues I have with it are as follows: It's a bit small. Since coffee shops tend to be places where people will come, do work and hang out, I feel that the inside should have more seating. Also, it's not in a part of town where people would generally be walking by, so it seems that it requires you to drive there; or intentionally walk there. Conclusions: Although this would be an ideal spot to hang out, drink coffee and study; all this is contingent upon you being able to find a table. It's probably best to use this place as a quick stop to get coffee and amazing doughnuts.

Holy cow, this place can make coffee. The donuts are dense and cakey and huge! I love the maple bacon and the cinnamonkeys. And the coffee...it's seriously the best in Lexington. The espresso macchiato is a sight to behold (and drink).

My favorite place for coffee and donuts in Lexington. Only place that comes close to matching Spaldings donuts and the coffee is awesome and locally roasted. Worthy place to stop in. Really good chai latte too

This is my favorite coffeehouse in Lexington. They have great coffee and tea lattes. The staff are friendly, and the indoor area is intimate and works well for studying. I go here on weekends to read and answer emails over a Lady Londonderry tea latte and a sinfully rich chocolate donut. There is parking on the side of the building and outdoor seating areas in the front and in the back. They also have free wifi too and electrical outlets by each indoor table. The only drawback is that they are closed in the evenings.

Bulk ordered 3 dozen donuts of varying deliciousness and also a small cambro, which is HUGE. Everything was fresh and prepared very early in the morning. Very happy with my decision to order from N. Lime Donuts.

Helpful staff, completely reasonable pricing, and a great place to meet people who will chat with you over homemade glazed donuts that fill your stomach. Love!

Awesome place, innovation, creativity, and tastiness made one of my favorite donuts... the funnel cake donut.

This place is amazing! Love the staff, love the coffee, and the doughnuts are out of sight! My yorkie and I always come down for a delicious cup of joe and a pastry treat! They've even given little rocky a "puppy latte" how awesome! If you want to have the taste of Spaulding's without having to wake up at the crack of dawn to line up, come down here to north lime.

Hands down best chai tea latte in town. Donuts are way too good. I will be fat if I keep going here. The staff is very friendly, the patio is nice, and for all the remote workers in town this is a great place to get work done as well.

My daughter and I were in town for a soccer tournament and we wanted to find a great place to hang for breakfast...found it! This place was amazing this morning. From the smiling staff, great coffee selection, to the live music it's a class act. We'll be back next time we are in town.

Is there anything better than a locally owned coffee joint that serves the bomb beans, makes their own doughnuts and covers the wall in local art? NO! This place has a great glazed doughnut, better than Spaldings in my opinion, plus they have a fantastic selection of coffee. GO GO GO!!

The hipsters have taken over the ghetto in Lexington, KY. This place seems to be all the rave but it's just average if you ask me. Try the pumpkin doughnut.

Oh, North Lime, if only you weren't blinded by your hipness. I feel that North Lime operates under the assumption that their customers are too concerned with image to buy a superior product down the road at Spalding's. This place is just too hipster for me; I don't like unkind, uninterested service. I will put up with that kind of service if the product redeems itself, but the donuts at North Lime, I'm sorry to say, do not. I ordered a half dozen to sample what they were offering for the day. The yeast donuts themselves are too sweet, dry, dense and doughy. The chocolate glaze was too thick, almost like icing on a cake, and that, in combination with glaze, totally overpowered the flavor of donuts with sweetness. I did think the cake donuts were better than the yeast, but still a little on the heavy and sweet side. I ordered an americano and it tasted burnt and bitter - not like a good strong coffee burnt, but more like a "we are having issues with our machine" burnt. I feel like North Lime could have a lot going for it, but they just need to bring themselves back to earth and address some problems. Then, I think it could be a good after-hours alternative to Spalding's.

Love this place! The staff is friendly and knows what they are doing. Their donuts are delicious, and I dream about the chocolate glaze! They use a locally roasted coffee bean that you can also buy there from "Nate's Coffee". He is also there as a barista from time to time and very knowledgeable! The coffee drinks are great..I use to work at a coffee shop and this place rocks from the people to the goodies to the artsy atmosphere!

I love this place for coffee. N. lime espresso roast is the way to go. Donuts are very heavy and sometimes greasy. Great spot; highly recommended. Plus they have almond milk in addition to soy and cow milk.

This cozy and eclectic shop has so much character! The coffee was delicious and the glazed donut, seriously, to die for...I'm not kidding..the BEST donut I've ever eaten. Super friendly as well.

The cake donuts are pillowy soft with just a slight fried crispiness to the outside--very good. I generally prefer cake, but the yeast donuts here are tremendous--more substantial than your average fare, with just a slight chewiness and just the right amount of sweetness. They've started a Twitter feed posting donuts of the day @northlimelex. Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this place by chance a few days after it opened. Warm donuts and kolaches. Locally roasted coffee by Nate (we took home a pound). Cute little place with some seating inside and a few spots outside. Looks like this part of Limestone might be getting to be the hipster part of Lexington soon. North Lime is a good stop on a Saturday morning for a bite and some coffee.

I just love this place. We went on a Saturday morning with our kids. We sat outside in the back, which has a lovely little stage just perfect for kids to twirl around on. The donuts are really tasty, fresh, and warm. Delicious coffee roasted by someone on-site. This place is a gem. I'm so glad they're here.

This place is awesome! The donuts are amazing...made from scratch every day. Yeast AND cake and oh so yummy! I took some to church today and everyone was raving about them. Several people loved the key lime (monthly special), but I liked the good old simple glazed donut best. The only drink I've tried is the vanilla chai latte, and it was yummy, too. I hear the coffee is amazing, but I don't drink coffee. It's cool that the guy who roasts the beans is local and actually works there, too! This place uses local ingredients as much as possible and supports local businesses, too. Great atmosphere, amazing donuts, good people. Don't miss this place!

I am not a big donut eater but I love my coffee and the coffee there is fantastic, rich and flavorful. They prepare coffee with either a pour-over and french press and all the coffee is locally roasted by Nate's Coffee. The space is warm and comfortable inside and there is a great patio out back. The wifi is free and I am just thrilled to have this place in my neighborhood, and the donuts smelled so good I may just have to try one.
